Outlines
🏌️♂️ Golf Swing Drills for a Low Left Exit
The video focuses on a drill for creating a low left exit for right-handed golfers, which would be a low right exit for left-handed players. The aim is to make the club follow an arc rather than a straight line to the target. The instructor, John, is filming from his garden due to the coronavirus situation and encourages viewers to practice at home. He suggests using a golf net or improvising with items like a bamboo cane or airflow balls if a net is unavailable. The drill involves swinging the club so that it misses to the left of the target, emphasizing body rotation over arm movement to achieve a more powerful and accurate swing. John also discusses the importance of body rotation for power and control in golf shots.
🎯 Improving Club Path with a Drill and Setup Tips
This paragraph continues the discussion on the low left exit drill, providing tips on how to adjust the setup depending on the club being used. The instructor suggests starting with smaller swings and gradually building up to full swings to get a feel for the movement. He emphasizes the importance of body rotation for creating a proper exit position and mentions that many golfers tend to swing straight down the target line, which is not ideal. The drill involves aiming to miss the cane or other improvised target to the left, which encourages an inward club path in an arc. The instructor also touches on the need for practice without a golf net, suggesting alternative methods such as clipping a tee peg or using airflow balls to work on the release pattern and improve consistency and power.

Transcripts
in today's video we're going to be
discussing the low left exit we're
talking about creating a body release
and not hands and arms throw away make
sure you check this video out welcome
back to the true Golf Academy you've
joined me John what's today in my back
garden hope you guys are keeping safe
from the coronavirus that's why I'm at
home filming these videos rather now in
the golf course so if you haven't seen
one of these before I've been filming
lots of content on YouTube at least two
instructional videos a week all at the
minute based around how to practice at
home so if you do enjoy this please hit
the thumbs up subscribe to my channel
for free if you hit that little bell
Knight icon just coming at the bottom
the screen now in notifies you every
time a new video goes live also I'm
filming daily content on my social media
channels so the info for my social media
channels again coming on the bottom of
the screen shorter videos than these
YouTube ones just quick ones again based
around at the minute how to practice at
home covering just loads of different
subjects areas whether it's backswing
downswing impact short game long game
doesn't matter I'm trying to cover a
variety today's video is all gonna be
about creating for a right-handed player
a low left exit obviously be a low right
exit for a lefty so we're trying to get
the club to work more on an arc shape
rather than down the target line hence
the tour stick in the ground here let me
just go ahead and hit a couple so you
can see what I mean I've just got enough
but room hopefully he says for the ball
to miss to the right so I'm aiming are
pretty much the center my bullseye tag
on the net here and the club to miss to
the left now with any of these drills if
you haven't got a golf net set up at
home and I know sales have gone through
the roof just doing or be inventive if
you can you know whatever you can hang
to hit balls against brilliant airflow
balls against the side of the house even
just doing some golf swings where you're
clipping a tee peg in the ground you've
got nothing to hit will still achieve
the right result
let's talk your more hit in whatso club
to miss to the right ball to
said that wrong ball to Mister the right
club to miss to the left although I
pulled that a little bit in terms of the
start direction you saw the balls pretty
started to touch left achieved on a
wanted Club missed to the left ball just
missed to the right one more
so am i having to feel there and it is
if you never done this before it is a
little bit off-putting and by all means
start with some little quarter swings
and then build it into half build it
into three quarters beef build it into
full its trying to encourage the club to
move from in to straight to in again I
find too many golfers trying to swing
straight down the target line we see
this very high finished position here
where the arms are really disconnecting
from what the body's doing so a sync
sort of this release pattern whereas
what we see with a majority of elite
players is their body is controlling
where the club path is going so the body
is rotating so for me to miss this I'm
just feeling like my head hips chest
whole body is rotating there's no stall
now I could get the club to miss left
with a hell of a lot of hands and you
would see the button to the club
pointing back towards the camera and
obviously we don't want to see this sort
of release pattern so when you're
starting with those little quarter
swings just get the feeling that the
arms structure is still there and we're
rotating head chest hips allowing our
body to keep turning keep rotating keep
opening and that's allowing this club to
move lower and further to the left which
is definitely something I have to work
on my finished position you know used to
be and it is still too high but is is a
little on the high side still there and
used to be much higher and I'd really
like to see my body rotate more the more
open I can get the better it's a huge
power input the more we can rotate our
body it's a big power source we'll kick
a ball instead of that way a lot further
if we do it with rotation so same thing
in a golf so if we can
rotation massive massive power source
but it's also going to help us control
that clubface position so we're gonna
get straight and more accurate golf shot
so it's a win-win really and what I've
done in terms of this setup and I'd play
around with it it depends on the club
that I've got I've got a 7-iron here
this cane is starting around just over
three foot in front of me it's pretty
much on my ball to target line but the
angle is tilted slightly so instead of
vertical at 90 degrees he's closer to
around 70 and there's just enough room
for the ball to miss right it feels in
my way it feels like I've got to get
that Club moving to the left to miss the
cane but that's the whole idea behind it
so as you get better at this bar means
move this in or angle it more and it all
need to change depending on the club
that you've got if you want to do this
or the longer club that cane would need
to be a little bit further in front and
he's too far enough away that I'm not
going to hit it with my hands but it's
definitely on route for the club so let
me just finish with a couple more and
that feeling is again body rotation to
create this low left exit no stool
effectively let's give it a whirl I'm
just pulling these a little bit and it
might be that I need to create a little
bit more shallowing in the downswing but
if you're someone who's struggling with
that exit position it's really really
vital to get that Club working a little
bit more inwards on the way through more
in an arc let me see if I can start this
more online it's closer just a fraction
to the left but all of these my club
path is going left and that was the key
that was the intention that was the idea
as I said if you haven't got a goal from
net set up don't worry airflow balls
would be brilliant if you haven't got
airflow balls and you're struggling to
get hold of them just clipping a tee peg
away set something like a bamboo cane
tour stick in the ground and just work
on that release pattern it's definitely
going to improve your consistency and
your power through that rotation
