hi guys so I'm going to be talking about
my lesson plan for um I play we played
capture the bean bags um I played this
with the third my third grade class um
The Learning goals
were I can apply strategic thinking and
teamwork to successfully capture the
other teams bean bags um and I can
demonstrate responsible behavior by
following the game rules and showing
respect towards teammates and
opponents um the central Focus
was the importance of teamwork strategic
thinking and physic physical activity
through a game of captur the bean bags
so we know Capture the Flag it's not
it's more of like a strategic game um
and yeah it's a strategic game so that
was the focus for our lesson um the
students had already have already been
playing it so it's not like they didn't
really know how to play it we kind of
went over the rules again and if anyone
had any questions I answered them and
then we got into it so how it works
usually the students will walk in and
the first 5 minutes they're running laps
around running or walking laps around
the gym and then um music will stop and
students know to come sit then they'll
sit and um then we talk about our next
warm-up game so we have we normally will
warm up with the laps and then we'll
have another warm-up game for this one I
did um three ball which was a game My
Mentor teacher found and really fun we
so we played that students already have
played it before um but we played that
and then we finally got into the game of
capture the bean bags um the reason I
taught it wasn't it wasn't necessarily a
reason I just taught it because my
mentor teacher suggested it and we had
been te we had been um playing it
already that students have so um it was
kind of just do it um so for my
assessment
um
I I do a lot of like I do 3 2 one so
I'll ask the students one being don't
got it two being almost got it and then
three being got it so usually like for
this lesson specifically I um at the
beginning I made sure like I ask any for
any questions if they knew the game
rules how to play all that then
um that was my first check for
understanding and then I
normally we we'll play a couple rounds
and then I'll go okay I see a 32 one
students will put a 32 one on their
chest and that gives me um you know the
knowledge on if they
know or if they don't know or if they're
still getting it um so that's one thing
I did I
normally we don't really do like exit T
tasks or entry tasks before a PE class
cuz so it's normally me watching and um
observing and just assessing that way um
but
overall
I I learned a lot like being this whole
quarter I learned so much just being in
the classroom and for my mentor teacher
I learned clear routines like help so
much like the students just being they
hear the music they walk right in and
they do their laps that's a clear
routine that's been set since day one um
the music like is a
good indicator on when to stop and go so
the students know and so I think
routines is a big thing and clear
routines um another thing that I took
from this was developing lesson lesson
plans uh especially for this class cuz
we did three of them I feel like I have
I'm more confident in teaching or not
teaching um making a lesson plan and
especially the um the
education the educa ew educations
template because the PE template was a
little different so getting used to the
new lesson plan and figuring yeah
figuring out how to like do all that so
that has helped a lot um and then so
another thing I've learned is giving
clear instructions so sometimes I'll
like I'll find myself in a situation
where I forget something there while I'm
while like I'll forget like a rule or
usually students will know and they'll
be like you know they'll be like misss
this this and so I'll be like oh yeah
another we forgot this rule so I'll like
correct it but other than that
like I think just clear instruction
because obviously the students aren't
going to get it if they don't have the
clear instructions so
that and then another thing the last
thing I learned well not last but
another thing I have the last thing I
have written down that I learned was
just observing students and learning how
to observe and assess the student skills
and progress while they're playing
