Transcripts
What do you think it's going to take for for people to really go out there and
pay a lot of money for iPhones? What kind of innovation do you want to
see? Well, I you know, I'm more just a user.
I come to these events or I watch them. And when they're all over the WWE, DC
conferences or my favorite, they're not introducing hardware, they're making
software, which is the changes in how we live and how we work.
And there's so many items that went by the day.
It is so difficult to say, Oh, I'm an expert on them when I'm not
operationally involved anyway. I'm very interested in the Apple
intelligence though. Taking your bits a day that night, bits
of data from around the world out there on the web or anything, and trying to
make better sense of what you're doing with your your product.
The trouble is, a demo always looks good and I believe in try it yourself, see
how it works for you and then give a real opinion of it.
But some major, major steps were demonstrated today.
So you were impressed. Safe to say.
Pardon? So you were impressed?
Safe to say. Oh, well, no.
Impressed with the what was all different software
versions of the operating system and changes?
Hey, I. I was impressed with the demos I always
am, but I still believe strongly you should try it and find out in after it's
over. You know what works, What doesn't?
What didn't come through the way you expected it to.
I especially, I'm afraid of whenever it's some kind of A.I.
is speaking for me. I want to be myself and I want to be the
one speaking. But all the demos today were pretty much
you had a choice to circle some little area and let it go and do its magical
wonders or rewrite something. And you chose to do it what to what it
was supposed to do. And that means you're looking at the
result and determining as a human. How does that make it work?
So this is one more type of A.I. Apple intelligence.
I have A.I. myself.
Yeah, actual intelligence. All right, well, we're going to patent
that one here, So. So how does your actual intelligence
then fold in with the technology here? Because, I mean, once they develop a
sort of a really sink their teeth into this and we start to see this roll out,
what do you really sort of envision as being the practical application and not
just for the techniques out there, but for some, maybe some of those folks who
maybe aren't as tech savvy, but it's seen all this hype around A.I.
over the past couple of years and want to know how they can use it or how it's
going to factor into their life. Sure.
Well, in using my products, mainly iPhones, but I also use Androids.
It's like I want to say something like, No, the information is in here and I may
have to go search for a certain picture this and then have to do a lot of stuff
manually. And it sure makes it seem like a lot of
that's going to happen automatically. Exactly what you want when you see you
often ask Siri to do something. If the very simple statement, Siri knows
how to do it. Good.
If you ask something that any human being would understand but slightly
complicated, one extra word, Siri sometimes have trouble with it.
So I'm hoping to see that finally improved because I like using Siri an
awful lot. Do you think, though, I want to see I
want to see a big improvement? Well, I mean, that's there have been a
lot of talk here, Steve, about kind of the innovation that Apple has had or the
perception that maybe they haven't been innovative enough over the last few
years. I mean, when we talk about A.I.,
particularly in the context of Siri, I mean, Siri has been around for a long
time now. I mean, this was supposed to be the the
chat bot, the A.I. assistant, if you will, even though it
wasn't necessarily called that. So is Apple still behind the curve or do
you think they've either caught up or maybe even have the potential to surpass
some of their peers? Well, a lot of people myself talk about
times that Siri doesn't live up to. Like the original dream.
It was going to be the Knowledge navigator that was based on an ad that
Apple did a long time ago with John Sculley and the Knowledge Navigator.
Was it just to have conversation, to understand everything about you and
notify you of things that were on your schedule coming up today and what to be
worried about and how long it's going to take and what you should buy and where.
And you should get a birthday cake for your son birthdays.
That's what was demonstrated with Apple intelligence today.
So I'm hoping that really takes a fruitful big step.
There were so many things I saw today that said, oh, my gosh, if that works,
that's going to save me a lot of time. Just trying to get my own things done,
communicate with my friends or whatever, you know, write emails, write texts.
I love that. And I love that, you know, the
handwriting correction, some of these things go back to 20 years ago or
whatever the Newton message pad, you know, had a lot of this stuff, you know,
automatic calculations for you and correcting your handwriting.
So I'm I love those things. I want to see it as a part of the
system. Not you have to buy a third party app to
get there.
