Shamir Joseph Smithy unbelievable thanks
PJ he's an unbelievable character as
well and just such the freshness of
Youth the exuberance of Youth top of off
Stumpy said top of off Stumpy hit to
finish this test match off in brilliant
brilliant fashion uh 13 wickets in the
series at 17 Gilly well he said he feels
like they've won the series tell you
what they have done Smithy and Brian
they've won the hearts and minds of uh
the cricketing world there's the
celebrations Josh Hazelwood probably
isn't in agreement with that comment by
me but you cannot do anything but sit
back and admire one of the great bowling
spells the lionhearted effort of a young
man who has come from nowhere has
announced himself on the global stage
we're going to hear so much more about
him
well it it's almost as if he did carry
them on his back today to a large degree
and McKenzie's there they're all there
the silver Grieves they've all played
their part it has been a team effort
there has been a super star but it's
been a a wonderful team effort given no
chance no chance at the start of the
series no chance at the start of today
really to be honest didn't even take the
field wasn't going to come to the ground
he said
he came to the ground all right he
announced himself and he brought some
good bo boys with him as well BJ you got
a couple more happy chaps with you man I
have I got these two guys they came to
the ground Josh Sila Kar roach how does
that feel phenomenal uh words can't
describe the feeling we have um to come
to Australia and do what we did
especially after the first game and last
year as well um wow amazing I'm sure you
have a few more words than me
G amazing oh come on come what it is um
we knew it's was going to take something
special to be the number one team in the
world and the belief the team had from
the beginning I think the guys was
always confident having fun in the
dressing room keeping calm keeping
relaxed and then expressing ourselves on
the pitch I think we did a fantastic job
and see the result come on we got to
talk about the guy from Ghana sham Jo
unbelievable unbelievable I think that's
probably the best winning spell from a
bower in the wrestling from from a
minute I've seen um so I just want to
urge him know enjoy the moment more hard
work to come you know and just you know
you just did something extremely special
for the people back in the Caribbean so
hold your head up high and just live in
the moment man Joshua i' got to say the
pace from Shamir Joseph today
outstanding right through that H spell
10 overs straight out flat out close to
150 yeah I was feeling it any gloves so
um for him to come out there especially
what happened yesterday with him he came
out showed fight and determination he
had one plan in mind and that was to get
wickets and we all believed and we all
had that self-belief in ourselves from
our Skipper from roochi from the coach
everybody believed and we came here with
that that optimism that we can do it and
did K what were you saying in the
bowling quartel today at the start of
play you needed eight wickets what were
you saying to them stay calm stay calm I
think why I believe I told the guys that
the team that stay the calmest will win
the Test match and that's exactly what
we did I think the way we started this
morning we were very consistent in our
areas um we put the B Under Pressure
some close shots we make them work hard
for the runs up front and then we knew
that something special is going to
happen and that what Shamar did that was
one of the best spells I've definitely
ever seen one thing I've Loved I think
people around the world is that you
enjoy enjoyed every moment of this test
match no matter which way it went of
course it was a great test match the
wicked was great the fans were great we
saw a number of people come out day one
day two day three so to do it in the
Gaba as well um yeah I still have no
words as the most I have really could
you wrap it up can you believe it it's
nearly been 30 years since the West
Indies won in Australia yeah we've been
had that in mind for a long time um
we've brought some good players down
here we never got a job done but as a
young group I'm very proud of the guys
the way they've got they express
themselves obviously the heart they've
shown the fight and that's why we just
stay in a contest and you never know
what happens at the end of the day it
has been so good to watch thank you for
talking us um unbelievable that's all
I'm going to say Smithy back to you
thanks PJ yeah let's not forget some of
the other key players in this how about
Kevin Sinclair on debut how valuable
Those runs amazing amazing and I had a
chat with him this morning about you
know what happened in the second end
where he should have taken a little bit
more strike maybe even bed the way how
Smith batted and how aggressive he was
but he just sort of Nod and he accepted
the fact that you know he could have
played a little bit better but his
performance uh in this test match was
tremendous buted solid in both first and
second Innings got the Wicket of kaaja
and his Fielding was exceptional and I
believe it's a great addition to to the
West Indies team and overall Brian what
do you think this will do for this group
uh and and let's go even deeper Cricket
in the Caribbean oh well first of all I
mean for this group of of young
cricketers who are heading to England in
a few months time uh which is going to
be uh another a major series three test
match series uh I think they're going to
be moving with a lot of confidence I
mean what I can say though and I hope
that uh both cricket boards can come
together uh the ACB and the West indes
Cricket Board in terms of accepting that
we need to have three test matches this
I mean to spend another two weeks here
in Australia to see another test match
would be amazing and I hope that at some
point in time the Western EES can get
back to that with Australia I don't know
if Australia is coming to the Western
EES next or whenever we come here next
but uh you know two test match I mean
this deserves a a real final and uh we
don't have it but tremendous series and
I totally enjoyed every minute of it I
think all West Indians did well I won
lock horns again till
2025 around 18 months time so it'll be
it won't be forgotten in 18 months this
I can promise you that Brian and G I
suppose we still have to talk a little
bit about Australia and yeah they got a
lesson today absolutely and there's a
few things for Pat cumins and his team
to consider and think about because I
mentioned earlier they were challenged
by Pakistan at certain points there was
50/50 moments in uh certainly in tests 2
and three where they'll feel like they
they were disappointed they let the
opposition in Pakistan on that most
occasions let themselves down by poor
catching some poor decision- making and
Australia stepped up at the right time
as Champion teams do but that'll be
really disappointing they had the chance
to go for uh a perfect summer now they
sit back I guess the one constellation
is that Steve Smith he looks like he
made enough adjustments to be an opening
bar test Cricket first win by the West
Indies in Australia since the the Wacker
F
1997 don't go away folks more great
Cricket action here on Fox Cricket we're
going to go to India for the culmination
of that test match as well but let's get
downstairs now for the presentation with
ishaku
