guys a little bit about greyberg and

Irish Commander

so let's Dive In

oh I'm here to talk about who greyberg

is and about our Flagship product Aries

Commander so our presentation will fall

into four parts

we start uh I'll tell you a brief story

of the company behind Iris CAD software

Wayback it's a pioneer of the academy

industry it was founded by our CEO

Wilfred grabert back in 1977. it was

only two years after Microsoft was

founded in five years before Autodesk

but it's really unique about Graver is

that 46 years later it is the last major

CAD company that is still honored by its

and his son Hobbit grabert has already

it really is what makes all the

difference when you compare with other

cats some companies uh they are all

honored by investors all publicly listed

in the stock exchange markets

our competitors need to report Financial

results as required a they need to show

high profits to their shareholders the

manager are changing frequently so they

don't care about long-term

collaborations as we are building with

Undead they want quick money so they

adapt short-term tactics to force you to

desktop selling perpeto license back in

2015.

and this year Autodesk stop it Network

license altogether is what I mean by

making quick money but in the long term

this strategy is indeed destroying the

relationship with customers

over the last years Aries has been

growing to become the number one

alternative to AutoCAD in the world good

prices and flexibility as license have

of course is strongly contributed to the

success of IRS

but the success of Iris not only

explained by the price as you see in

in 2000 Rabbit released the first

the first beam drawings features to

create DWG drawings from revits or IFC

files

so to recap grab it with its Aries

technology represent the second largest

base installed in the world for CAD in

DWG it is therefore the number one

alternative targets

and this includes license sold with our

brand Aries

and also alliances with other English

leaders such as the source system and

rptc on shapes that are using our

technology as the cad engine for

products relabeled under their own

brands

most importantly air is not only the

number one alternative to other can but

also the market leader new technologies

for cloud and mobile

Iris Commander so I invite you uh to

now that we learned about gravex the

last three topics will cover how

switching from AutoCAD to Iris Commander

can be very easy so I will start with a

deeper look at DWG formats

first commander in AutoCAD both use

exactly the same DWG file formats this

includes any older version of DWG

including the very first ones

any drawing creators AutoCAD can be

wrapped and modify your virus commander

and vice versa

let me be clear it's not an import or

expert process it is just the same file

formats besides Iris Commander can also

work with drawing templates saving DWT

draw easy standard saving DWS and sheet

sets saving DST formats

and you can also import customizations

such as menu files printer

configurations Or List applications you

may have created in AutoCAD and they are

working as Commander the same way

right so besides compatibility of DWG

formats the second key question is

whether an AutoCAD user can easily

switch to Iris as you see from uh on

that team presentation uh at first there

might be a resistance but uh for a user

that has used an outcome before the user

interface of virus command will actually

look very similar it's not the same

because it's not a copy but in the other

hand an outcat user don't need training

to start using Aries

later on this webinar uh you watch Iris

Commander Plus on that plugging live in

action

and therefore I choose to show you here

just a short video showing the interface

and usability of Iris Commander the idea

here is to demonstrate how a user with

some experience in another CAD software

will be able to quickly configure the UI

to his other liking and be productive

right away

so I'll be back after this

in this demo we'll take a quick tour of

Aries commander and see how it Compares

with AutoCAD or other similar programs

to begin with let's look at the ribbon

in the top left corner

you can see a combo box to switch

between different workspaces if you are

migrating from AutoCAD I'd recommend the

cad General one which features a very

similar ribbon

and if you prefer to work with menus and

toolbars you can just pick the classic

workspace

most importantly we will see in a minute

that you can very easily create your own

workspace

that said you don't have to search for

features in the ribbon if you know an

AutoCAD command or system variable by

name you can just enter it in the

command bar

even when the name is different there is

an alias defined in Aries Commander for

example if I enter the command M text

like an AutoCAD it is calling the

command note in Aries Commander

many commands and system variables have

the same name in both programs and if

you are not sure you can enter just the

first letters to see suggestions

let's continue with our polyline it

works exactly the same with relative

coordinates distances angles

and entity snaps

tracking

the next segment could be an arc

so did you see any big difference

well there's really not much new to

learn here for example the snapping is

called object snaps in AutoCAD

and entity snaps in Aries Commander

slightly different name but it works the

same way

in addition in both programs key

shortcuts are the same for example f8

for Ortho mode

similarly Dynamic input in AutoCAD is

named quick input in Aries Commander

and UCS and AutoCAD is named CCs in

Aries Commander it's short for custom

coordinate system

let's finish our tour of the user

interface

on the side we can find the palettes

you can resize them and choose whether

they Auto Hide or remain visible

by default some of them are active but

others are not

if you do a right click in the ribbon

you can select the ones that you want so

we find here for example the properties

palette

layers

references

or design resources which is the

equivalent of autocad's Design Center

I especially like the tool Matrix

palette it doesn't exist in AutoCAD and

I can use it to drag and drop toolbars

it's an easy way to mix toolbars with

the ribbon interface

after selecting all the palettes that

you like you can save this configuration

as a new workspace or just overwrite

another workspace to keep this

configuration

for more customizations you can enter

options in the keyboard a dialog shows

up to centralize all the options

this dialog is significantly different

from AutoCAD so at first sight it may be

a bit confusing for an AutoCAD user

now turn your attention to the search

field

you just enter a keyword here

if it is found in different places you

can use the down arrow key on your

keyboard to jump from one to the other

and one last thing the UI is in dark

mode by default but you can switch to

the light gray UI Style just be aware

that the program needs to restart to

apply the changes

foreign

so let's move to our final Topic in this

next few slides uh you'll see listed

some important features of any CAD

workflow

but the truth is that most users

probably only use a fraction of comments

that are in either AutoCAD or Aries but

you still want to make sure that

switching from Aries would not come at

the expense of your productivity nor the

cost saving that you're doing one hand

would be lost on the other hand

rest assured that Aries is a full

feature 3D and 2D CAD software this

includes probably all the tools you are

used to using and some new exclusive

ones such as Trinity block Library

powertrain Mouse gestures and much much

more

and I have not even mentioned yet our

to make your own opinion but before
