🧠 Cultivating a Positive Mindset

Leo from actualized.org introduces the topic of developing a positive attitude, emphasizing that it's an advanced topic and not merely about wishful thinking. He discusses the challenge of moving from negative to positive thinking and the misconception that external circumstances alone can change one's attitude. Leo stresses that true positive thinking is an inner work that requires time, effort, and a shift in mindset rather than a quick fix from external changes.

05:01

🕒 Embracing the Present Moment

The second paragraph delves into the idea of accepting the present moment as inevitable, which is crucial for developing a positive attitude. Leo explains that resisting the current moment creates unnecessary stress and negativity. By accepting the present, one can reduce tension and worry, leading to a more positive outlook. This acceptance is a foundational principle that requires deep understanding and integration into daily life.

10:03

đŸš« The Futility of Worry

In this paragraph, Leo addresses the common belief that worry is a necessary and useful emotion. He challenges this notion by arguing that worry is, in fact, useless and often counterproductive. Leo shares his own struggle with accepting this principle and encourages viewers to let go of worry to improve performance and maintain a positive attitude. The discussion highlights the importance of retraining one's mind to view worry as an unhelpful habit.

15:04

😄 The Power of Cheerfulness

Leo discusses the third pillar of a positive attitude: the belief that cheerfulness is the best strategy for life's problems. He points out that most people find it difficult to remain cheerful in the face of adversity. The paragraph emphasizes the importance of conscious cheerfulness, even during tough times, and contrasts it with the instinctive reactions of fear or sadness. Leo also touches on the misconception of strategy in life, explaining that a proper strategy is one that is correct regardless of the outcome.

20:05

💡 Positive Thinking vs. Realism

In the final paragraph, Leo tackles the potential objection to positive thinking, which is the belief that realism is a safer and more effective approach to life. He clarifies that true positive thinking does not involve setting unrealistic expectations or being attached to outcomes. Instead, it's about maintaining a positive outlook regardless of what happens, which is different from being blindly optimistic. Leo concludes by reiterating the importance of acceptance and the long-term benefits of cultivating a positive attitude.

🌟 Committing to Self-Growth

The closing paragraph serves as a call to action, encouraging viewers to sign up for Leo's newsletter for weekly updates on self-improvement and personal growth. Leo emphasizes the importance of committing to a process of constant self-growth to achieve a positive attitude and an extraordinary life. Keywords

💡Positive Thinking

Positive thinking refers to the mental attitude of expecting positive outcomes and interpreting events constructively. In the video, Leo emphasizes that true positive thinking is not just wishful but a tangible approach to life. It's a central theme as he discusses how to cultivate a positive attitude despite life's challenges, using the example of not falling back into old negative patterns even when discussing the topic of positive thinking.

💡Attitude

Attitude in this context is one's disposition or outlook when facing various life situations. Leo argues that developing a positive attitude is an advanced topic and not merely about external circumstances but an inner work that requires time and effort. He uses the term to illustrate the ultimate goal of being positively inclined 'no matter what,' suggesting it's a robust and unshakable state of mind.

💡Genetics

Genetics is mentioned as a factor that can influence one's happiness and mood set point. Leo explains that about 50% of happiness can be attributed to genetic factors, implying that while we cannot change our genetic predispositions, we can still work on cultivating a positive attitude regardless of our genetic makeup.

💡Present Moment

The present moment is a key concept discussed by Leo, who asserts that accepting the current moment as inevitable is fundamental to positive thinking. He suggests that by acknowledging the present moment's reality, one can reduce unnecessary tension and stress, which is a step towards developing a positive attitude.

💡Worry

Worry is presented as a counterproductive activity that does not serve one's positive attitude. Leo challenges the common belief that worry can be a motivator, arguing instead that it often leads to poor performance and increased negativity. He uses personal anecdotes and the idea of a 'worry blanket' to illustrate the futility of worry in maintaining a positive outlook.

💡Cheerfulness

Cheerfulness is posited as the best strategy for problem-solving and maintaining a positive life approach. Leo discusses the importance of accepting that being happy, regardless of circumstances, is the optimal strategy. He contrasts the common reaction to negative events with the idea of maintaining cheerfulness as a conscious choice.

💡Strategy

Strategy, in the context of the video, is not about predicting outcomes but about adopting the right mindset. Leo explains that a proper strategy is one that is correct regardless of the outcome, using the analogy of poker to illustrate that even if a non-conventional play leads to a win, it doesn't mean it was the best strategy.

💡Self-Control

Self-control is highlighted as a necessary discipline to maintain a positive attitude, especially in challenging situations. Leo suggests that it takes internal discipline to remain cheerful in the face of adversity, and this self-control is developed through practice and commitment to the principles of positive thinking.

💡Realism

Realism is contrasted with positive thinking, with Leo addressing the concern that positive thinking might lead to disappointment if reality does not align with one's positive expectations. He clarifies that true positive thinking does not involve being attached to outcomes but rather maintaining a positive outlook regardless of what happens.

💡Self-Growth

Self-growth is presented as a lifelong journey of self-improvement and self-actualization. Leo emphasizes that the process of cultivating a positive attitude is part of a larger goal of personal development. He connects the idea of self-growth to the pursuit of mastering one's mindset and becoming untouchable by external circumstances.

💡Acceptance

Acceptance is a recurring theme in the video, where Leo discusses the necessity of accepting the present moment, the uselessness of worry, and the strategy of cheerfulness. He suggests that acceptance is a core component of developing a positive attitude and provides a foundation for the other principles discussed in the video.

play00:00

hey this is Leo for actualized.org and

play00:03

in this video I'm going to talk about

play00:05

positive

play00:08

[Music]

play00:17

attitude all right let's talk about how

play00:21

to develop positive thinking and what I

play00:24

really want to tackle in this video

play00:26

because I have other videos that talk

play00:27

about positive thinking and optimism

play00:30

equally entitled positive thinking and

play00:31

optimism you might want to check those

play00:32

out but what I want to talk about here

play00:35

is how do you actually cultivate a

play00:37

positive attitude because it's very easy

play00:39

I find to talk about positive thinking

play00:42

to wax philosophical about positive

play00:44

thinking to extol the virtues of

play00:46

positive thinking and we all know that

play00:48

we want to be more positive but then we

play00:50

just kind of fall back into our groove

play00:53

and we Remain the negative selves the

play00:54

critical selves the judgmental selves

play00:59

the worrying self the stressed selves

play01:01

that we've always been so how do you

play01:04

actually do this what I'm going to say

play01:06

in this video is actually that this is a

play01:08

very very Advanced topic very few people

play01:11

in life I would say actually have a true

play01:14

positive

play01:15

attitude and of those people that do

play01:18

many of them have it maybe because they

play01:20

were very fortunate with the way that

play01:22

they were raised or because they had

play01:24

very good genetics and genetics is a

play01:25

factor in in actually your happiness and

play01:28

your mood set point about % of it is

play01:30

genetic so that can be an important

play01:32

factor as well but ultimately all we

play01:34

care about is what we can control so the

play01:36

genetic side as side you have to play

play01:38

with the cards that you were dealt and

play01:39

so whatever cards you were dealt how do

play01:41

you make the best of them how do you

play01:43

create a positive attitude and no matter

play01:45

how shitty your genetics are or where

play01:47

you come from with your family

play01:49

background or any kind of incident and

play01:50

Trauma that you've had in your life it

play01:52

is possible to create a very very strong

play01:54

positive attitude but ultimately I got

play01:56

to be honest with you it's not something

play01:58

that you're just going to get from

play01:59

watching one video stop bullshitting

play02:02

yourself all right positive thinking

play02:04

people say well positive thinking it's

play02:06

so Airy fairy and it's just wishful

play02:09

thinking actually positive thinking can

play02:11

be a very hard-nosed tangible thing the

play02:14

only problem is that almost almost

play02:16

nobody approaches it that way and nobody

play02:19

is very rigorous about their positive

play02:20

attitude so here I'm going to talk about

play02:22

what it really takes to start to develop

play02:24

this and I really started to realize it

play02:26

just in the last uh in the last 6 months

play02:29

because I've done so much personal

play02:30

development work studying all these

play02:31

theories and all this stuff and a lot of

play02:32

times I'll be able to put into place a

play02:34

lot of nice things for myself in my life

play02:36

externally like I'll I'll get my money

play02:38

situation handled I'll get the gym

play02:40

handled I'll get a relationship handled

play02:42

but then what I find is that I'm still

play02:44

not really positive on the inside and

play02:46

the reason that is is that because no

play02:48

external circumstance will ever make you

play02:50

a positive thinker that's inner work you

play02:53

have to do all right so this is

play02:54

ultimately what it's going to take it's

play02:55

going to take time it's going to take

play02:57

months and years of work so time and

play03:01

work inner work to do this no external

play03:04

circumstance is going to do it if you

play03:06

think that you're just going to set your

play03:07

life up nicely around you you're going

play03:08

to get a nice house a nice car a nice

play03:10

wife and some other things that you're

play03:12

going to have in your life uh I mean

play03:15

that'll be nice maybe that'll even make

play03:16

you feel good for a while maybe it'll

play03:19

it'll make you even feel good for a long

play03:20

time but it's not going to make you a

play03:22

true positive thinker it's not going to

play03:24

get you a positive attitude cuz your

play03:25

attitude it might it's just positive

play03:27

simply because you're in very

play03:28

comfortable surroundings but as soon as

play03:31

I take away your your wife or your car

play03:33

your house or something else or your job

play03:34

all of a sudden you're not going to have

play03:36

a positive attitude you're going to have

play03:37

a very very negative attitude so true

play03:39

positive attitude means that you're

play03:41

positive no matter what it's not a

play03:43

fragile

play03:44

positivity so how do we do this here are

play03:47

the core pillars of how to do this and

play03:49

this is a very deep topic so I'm going

play03:50

to go in other videos and cover these

play03:52

other pillars in more depth but here's

play03:55

the overview number one is that you

play03:57

really have to buy into this idea and

play04:00

accept that the present moment is

play04:02

inevitable as it is all right you cannot

play04:05

be a positive thinker you canot have a

play04:08

positive attitude if you do not accept

play04:10

this the present moment right now what

play04:14

you think about the present moment is

play04:15

that yeah the present moment is nice but

play04:18

there's something that could be better

play04:20

about it well the present moment could

play04:22

be nicer if only I had blank fill in the

play04:25

blank with whatever you want a thing or

play04:27

a situation or a person or even

play04:30

something about yourself that's

play04:31

different but in the end to have a

play04:33

positive attitude no matter what to have

play04:36

a robust positive attitude you have to

play04:38

come into this realization this

play04:40

connection with with reality with truth

play04:43

and the truth is that in the present

play04:45

moment this moment right

play04:47

now nothing could be different than the

play04:50

way it

play04:51

is no matter how good or how bad you

play04:54

perceive it to be right now nothing

play04:57

could be different than the way it is

play04:59

it's an

play05:00

inevitable right the current moment so

play05:04

the future could be different but the

play05:06

present moment cannot be different it is

play05:08

what it

play05:10

is this seems simplistic and you might

play05:12

wonder well that kind of makes sense but

play05:14

what does this really have to do with

play05:15

anything how's this going to change my

play05:17

life that's because you haven't really

play05:18

penetrated into the depth of what this

play05:20

principle really means when you really

play05:23

penetrate into depth of it and you live

play05:24

from this place and you can do this what

play05:27

you're going to find is that if you just

play05:31

accept the current moment as inevitable

play05:33

a lot of your tensions will kind of melt

play05:35

away and a lot of the things that are

play05:37

bothering you right now that are making

play05:39

you unhappy are going to start to melt

play05:41

away you're going to be accepting of

play05:43

them not in the sense that you have to

play05:45

tolerate them for the rest of your life

play05:46

or that you don't have to do anything

play05:47

about them but in the sense that for

play05:49

right now in the current present moment

play05:51

this tiny millisecond that we're living

play05:53

in the now that time is like locked in

play05:58

and there's nothing you can do about it

play05:59

it and the stress that you're creating

play06:01

the resistance that you're creating to

play06:02

it the fact that you don't like the

play06:04

present moment and you want to rip

play06:06

yourself out of it right this is

play06:08

creating unnecessary struggle which is

play06:10

creating a lot of negativity and worry

play06:11

and anxiety within you that is

play06:14

unnecessary and in fact not only is it

play06:15

unnecessary but it's diametrically

play06:18

opposed to having a positive attitude

play06:20

you can't have a positive attitude by

play06:22

definition if you're anxious and you're

play06:24

worried and you're having negative

play06:25

thoughts so you need a a way to drop

play06:28

those and one of the best ways is to

play06:30

adopt this principle very very deeply in

play06:31

your

play06:32

life the next principle is another thing

play06:35

that you have to accept and this is

play06:37

something that also people do not want

play06:39

to accept is this idea that worry is

play06:43

useless this is a very tough one even

play06:46

for me to accept that worry is useless

play06:49

somewhere in the back of our minds and

play06:51

even in the front of our minds we make

play06:53

all sorts of arguments for why the worry

play06:55

that we

play06:56

do throughout the day throughout the

play06:59

week throughout the year throughout our

play07:01

whole lives that that worry is somehow

play07:03

Justified and that that worry is somehow

play07:05

natural and that that's actually good

play07:07

and then that worry is what's getting us

play07:09

the results that we're getting in our

play07:10

life so it might go something like this

play07:13

well Leo you're telling me not to worry

play07:14

and you're telling me that worry is

play07:15

useless but wait a minute the other day

play07:18

at my job I was so worried about the

play07:20

report that I had to submit to my boss

play07:22

that that worry kind of lit a fire under

play07:24

my ass and so I went off and I I worked

play07:27

hard on the report and then I finished

play07:29

the report just in the nick of time and

play07:31

I made it by the skin of my tooth and I

play07:33

turned on that report and that report

play07:35

just somehow it got me by and my boss

play07:38

was happy it held it held the situation

play07:40

over but you know if I look back at that

play07:43

situation and if I if I take all the

play07:45

worry out of it and if I wasn't worried

play07:47

about that situation then I would never

play07:50

have gotten that report in on time and

play07:52

maybe I would have been fired so how can

play07:54

you tell me Leo that worry is useless

play07:57

all right so I can relate with this

play07:59

right I I can make this argument myself

play08:01

often times I do the problem is that

play08:03

this is kind of a very disempowering way

play08:06

to think and ultimately the more work

play08:08

you do on yourself and the more worry

play08:10

you start to kind of let go in little

play08:11

places what happens that you're so

play08:13

afraid and you're so attached to you're

play08:14

worried that you're like no I need this

play08:16

worry you're like a little child with a

play08:17

blanket who thinks that this little baby

play08:19

blanket that he's grow been growing up

play08:22

with that this is somehow protecting him

play08:23

from the dangers of life and that's what

play08:25

you're doing with your worry is that

play08:26

you're using it this little blanket and

play08:28

you're saying well you know what I need

play08:29

it if I drop in let go of this worry

play08:31

then my life is going to turn to

play08:33

and yeah I mean it definitely seems that

play08:36

way what you're going to find is that

play08:37

once you start let go of that worry it's

play08:39

actually not quite as bad as you thought

play08:42

it was and in fact what you're going to

play08:43

realize is that as you're letting go of

play08:45

more and more worry your performance is

play08:47

improving right it improves and improves

play08:50

and what you're going to start to find

play08:51

is that those situations like turning in

play08:53

this report with your boss that wouldn't

play08:55

have even been a problem if you weren't

play08:57

a warrier in the first place cuz the the

play08:59

reason you probably got into that

play09:00

situation was because you were worried

play09:02

about it and you started procrastinating

play09:03

and you started building it up in your

play09:05

mind you started having negative

play09:06

visualizations you started having

play09:08

resistance towards it and so you didn't

play09:10

do the work until the very last minute

play09:12

whereas if you weren't a warrior then

play09:14

you would have just done it you know

play09:16

days ahead of time and you would have

play09:18

done it even better than you did by

play09:20

doing it the last second so that's one

play09:23

way to start to combat this but

play09:24

ultimately again this is a very very

play09:26

deep idea that worry is useless

play09:30

ask yourself do you really believe

play09:32

that even I don't believe it at a

play09:34

subconscious level yet I know it

play09:36

logically I know I should believe it I

play09:38

know that I need to in order to get the

play09:39

performance that I want in my life but

play09:41

still it's difficult for me to believe

play09:42

and actually practice I'm retraining my

play09:45

mind every single day as I'm noticing

play09:47

myself worrying that worry is useless

play09:49

because I know that this is a core

play09:51

principle that needs to be put into

play09:52

place to have a positive attitude and

play09:55

why is that well because if you're

play09:57

worrying then you can't be positive and

play09:59

worry happens on a micro level every s

play10:02

single minute and second of your day if

play10:04

you are a worrier and if you believe

play10:06

that worry has value then of course

play10:08

you're going to keep worrying so it's

play10:10

not going to work in order to shed all

play10:12

your worry you have to honestly believe

play10:15

truly believe that worry is not serving

play10:18

you in any positive

play10:19

way so that's the second pillar the

play10:22

third

play10:23

pillar is to accept again this is a

play10:28

pillar of acceptance you have to accept

play10:30

that really

play10:31

cheerfulness is the best attitude and

play10:35

the best strategy towards solving

play10:37

problems in

play10:39

life now really think about this one too

play10:41

do you believe that that's true do you

play10:44

believe that being happy no matter what

play10:46

the circumstances are no matter how bad

play10:48

the situation is do you believe that

play10:50

being happy is actually your best way

play10:52

out of that

play10:55

situation see most people would like to

play10:57

say yes but then in practice

play11:00

they behave as though they believe it's

play11:02

a no because what happens is that as

play11:04

soon as something catastrophic happens

play11:05

in their life then all the happiness and

play11:08

all the cheerfulness goes out the window

play11:10

it's like that becomes a luxury and see

play11:12

with this kind of mindset you can't

play11:14

really have a positive attitude not a

play11:16

consistent one it's going to be a

play11:17

fragile one if you want a rock solid

play11:19

consistent positive attitude then you

play11:21

can't let negative circumstances come

play11:24

and dictate how you're going to

play11:27

feel and again if you think that

play11:29

being scared is actually helpful to you

play11:33

when a negative situation happens or

play11:35

panicking is actually helping you to fix

play11:37

a situation then you're going to keep

play11:39

doing that right because you're going to

play11:41

think well that's the best

play11:43

strategy I mean if something horrible

play11:45

happens to me obviously I should be sad

play11:48

or fearful about it because that's

play11:50

helping me to survive that situation you

play11:51

might say that to yourself actually

play11:53

that's not the case that's not true at

play11:54

all but your brain will certainly trick

play11:56

you into thinking that it certainly will

play11:59

that's your kind of survival Instinct

play12:01

mode kicking into gear but that's not

play12:03

conscious see to have a positive

play12:05

attitude means you have to be conscious

play12:07

all the time this is a challenge it's

play12:10

challenging to be cheerful in a tough

play12:12

situation it's easy to be cheerful in a

play12:14

nice

play12:15

situation but it's hard to be cheerful

play12:17

in a challenging situation so this is uh

play12:21

this is an important pillar to accept

play12:24

now strategy strategy is an important

play12:26

point that we need to talk about because

play12:28

a lot of people get mixed up about

play12:29

strategy and what strategy is some

play12:31

people will think that

play12:34

well I'm going to take some sort of

play12:36

strategy towards the situation that I'm

play12:38

going to encounter tomorrow right I'm

play12:40

going to I'm going to make some sort of

play12:41

decision I'm going to deal with my

play12:43

problem in some sort of way and if the

play12:46

result of that interaction between my

play12:48

strategy and the problem if the result

play12:50

is positive and it's to my liking then

play12:52

my strategy was correct and if the

play12:54

result was negative and it didn't go the

play12:56

way I wanted to then my strategy was

play12:58

incorrect

play13:00

that's actually not the right way to

play13:01

approach strategy that's that's a

play13:04

mistake see proper strategy is correct

play13:07

regardless of the

play13:09

outcome you might wonder well how can

play13:11

that be well take an example for example

play13:13

like poker right in poker there are very

play13:16

clear dos and don'ts for what kind of

play13:19

hands you should play and what kind of

play13:20

hands you shouldn't Play Because

play13:21

ultimately poker is a pretty simple

play13:23

model it can be modeled mathematically

play13:25

and so you can run the percentages and

play13:27

you can always if you have a computer or

play13:28

if if you got a really sharp mind you

play13:30

can always take a look at the hands and

play13:32

if you see all the players hands you can

play13:33

always take a look and kind of uh

play13:35

analyze it run the numbers and say well

play13:37

okay you should clearly fold right now

play13:39

even though you have a strong hand you

play13:40

should fold because the odds are against

play13:43

you or maybe you calculate it the other

play13:45

way around so there are actual like odds

play13:48

right that you should be doing you

play13:50

should be playing but then sometimes if

play13:53

you watch like the World Poker Tour or

play13:55

something like that poker on TV you'll

play13:57

see that some players are kind of like

play13:58

Mavericks and they'll rebel against the

play14:00

odds and even though the odds are

play14:02

against them they'll still kind of play

play14:03

against the odds and sometimes they'll

play14:04

actually

play14:06

win now what does that mean does that

play14:08

mean that they are smart that they're

play14:09

intelligent that they have a that they

play14:12

have a a proper strategy in place no

play14:15

they just got lucky right and so that

play14:17

could be happening in your life is that

play14:19

you could be getting lucky with various

play14:20

decisions and strategies that you're

play14:22

appying you could be getting lucky that

play14:24

doesn't mean it's the right

play14:25

strategy so what's the point here how

play14:27

does this connect back to to to positive

play14:30

thinking well the way it connects back

play14:32

to that is that this idea that

play14:34

cheerfulness is the best strategy right

play14:37

that's what I'm trying to convince you

play14:38

of is that being cheerful no matter what

play14:39

is happening in your life that means if

play14:40

someone dies in your family you still

play14:43

remain cheerful all right think about

play14:45

that this is not this is not I'm not

play14:46

kidding I mean like imagine that in your

play14:48

life that if someone died that was close

play14:50

to you and you could still remain

play14:52

cheerful what would it take for you to

play14:53

do that right that takes like serious

play14:56

internal self-control and discipline to

play14:58

do that not in a force way but actually

play15:00

to genuinely be cheerful not that they

play15:03

died but still cheerful in the

play15:05

moment because I mean what's the sadness

play15:08

going to get you what's the fear going

play15:10

to get you is it going to actually help

play15:13

you is it's the best strategy to live

play15:15

through that life problem if someone

play15:17

dies that's close to you is uh is

play15:19

getting upset about it or sad about it

play15:22

is that the best way to live through

play15:23

that problem or is the best way to

play15:26

remain remain

play15:27

cheerful see

play15:31

we know logically that the best strategy

play15:32

is to remain cheerful but in practice

play15:34

how many of us can actually execute that

play15:36

very few right this is where

play15:38

self-controls comes in this is where

play15:40

training and discipline comes in

play15:41

building yourself up and convincing

play15:43

yourself of these pillars the more you

play15:45

practice them the more you implement

play15:47

them the more solid and grounded you get

play15:48

in them and then they actually take root

play15:50

in your life and you can actually use

play15:51

them in tough situations so this is why

play15:54

this is an advanced idea right you can

play15:56

see why this is Advanced now because

play15:58

very very few people truly have a

play16:00

positive attitude in

play16:03

life uh and uh now you might also have

play16:06

this objection or this thought that goes

play16:08

something like this well Leo okay

play16:10

positive thinking I hear you it sounds

play16:13

nice but isn't positive thinking

play16:15

actually dangerous I mean I'm a realist

play16:19

isn't it isn't it better to be a realist

play16:21

in life rather than to be this star eyed

play16:24

Optimist and approach everything

play16:26

optimistically isn't realism the best

play16:28

approach I mean what if you're

play16:29

optimistic and then you're all that

play16:31

optimism that you have all those goals

play16:33

and dreams and the outcomes you set for

play16:34

yourself all those just come crashing

play16:36

down when it comes and kind of collides

play16:38

with reality what if you're cheerful and

play16:41

you're telling yourself to be all happy

play16:42

and then someone Close to You dies and

play16:43

then you're not able to maintain that

play16:45

what happens then Leo isn't that

play16:46

Reckless isn't that dangerous aren't you

play16:48

setting yourself up for

play16:50

pain and uh the answer is this you are

play16:53

setting up yourself for pain if what

play16:56

you're doing is you're setting these

play16:57

hard expectations

play16:59

and you're very attached to the

play17:01

outcome but it doesn't have to be that

play17:03

way right see this is where Discounters

play17:06

and naysayers of positive thinking will

play17:08

get it wrong is they'll say well

play17:10

positive thinking that's going to set me

play17:12

up for failure that's going to set up to

play17:14

disappointment well the problem is that

play17:16

they're being positive and they're

play17:17

telling yourself well I'm positive and I

play17:19

need the outcome to be positive and if

play17:21

it's not positive then everything's

play17:22

going to hell but see true positive

play17:25

thinking is like being more relaxed

play17:27

being more chill being out come detached

play17:30

you're a positive thinker you're

play17:31

thinking positive about the situation

play17:33

that doesn't mean that the situation

play17:34

won't turn bad that doesn't mean that

play17:37

you can foretell the future and you can

play17:38

get everything that you want to happen

play17:40

in your life to happen in the way that

play17:41

you want it never going to happen on the

play17:45

contrary it means that you're going to

play17:46

have ups and downs you're going to have

play17:47

things unexpectedly happen you might

play17:49

have some sort of lofty ambition or goal

play17:51

for your business and then it comes

play17:52

crashing down and you know the market

play17:54

comes and it it crashes and your

play17:56

business crashes with it or maybe have

play17:59

some nice expectations and you're

play18:01

thinking very positive about your

play18:02

relationship and then your relationship

play18:04

ends in a

play18:05

divorce that could happen so I'm not

play18:08

saying you can necessarily prevent that

play18:10

in all situations but the idea here is

play18:13

that if you're a positive thinker you

play18:14

remain positive and you're not attached

play18:16

to it see if you're a realist or a

play18:19

pessimist then actually what you're

play18:20

doing is you're like like okay if I'm

play18:22

thinking positive then I need it to

play18:23

actually pan out I need it to be

play18:25

positive all the time and of course

play18:27

that's not going to work that's an

play18:29

neotic way of doing positive thinking

play18:31

true positive thinking is like being

play18:32

cool and chill it's like you know what

play18:33

if it happens good and if it doesn't

play18:35

happen you know still

play18:38

good heads I win Tails I win that's what

play18:41

a true positive attitude is about all

play18:45

right so I'm going to wrap it up here

play18:46

this is what cultivating a positive

play18:48

attitude means it's really about

play18:50

acceptance you have to accept what do

play18:53

you have to accept one you have to

play18:55

accept the present moment as it is

play18:57

completely inevitable number two you

play18:59

have to accept that worry is completely

play19:01

useless and of no value to you number

play19:03

three you have to accept that

play19:04

cheerfulness is the best

play19:07

strategy to go through life

play19:09

with and you have to now try to live up

play19:12

to that right I know it's hard this

play19:14

doesn't mean it's easy it's going to be

play19:16

very hard but if you're like me then you

play19:18

see the long-term potential here I mean

play19:22

how awesome would it be to develop

play19:23

yourself internally so that you could

play19:26

have a true positive attitude about life

play19:28

life so that no matter what happens to

play19:30

you you can remain cheerful so that

play19:32

you're not worrying and you're not

play19:33

feeling like you have to worry because

play19:35

you know that the worry is not helping

play19:36

you and that you're in the present

play19:38

moment and you accept the moment as it

play19:40

is if you could achieve all those things

play19:42

then you've basically accomplished

play19:43

Nirvana You've Got Heaven on Earth you

play19:47

can't like nothing can hurt you you're

play19:48

untouchable so this is a very powerful

play19:51

goal to set for yourself is to cultivate

play19:53

this attitude over you know over the

play19:55

months and the years as you're growing

play19:56

yourself and you're doing other stuff

play19:58

try to move your way and inch your way

play20:00

up towards having a true positive

play20:02

attitude about life all right this is
