people censored program rice always
talking about what the person high
interests are and we try to train them
and so that it can live a meaningful I
start like me I love to run right so I'm
sure students with special needs also
will need such a platform I really love
the outdoors you know this is such a
great platform to actually share with my
students I was thinking like this type
of experiential learning is really
beneficial for not only life as also our
students if we don't engage on such a
platform we were never witness the
capabilities of our students even if
they are non-verbal the expression of
seeing around what is you know in a
nature hits me a lot also and my dream
and hope for them is that once they
graduate from our school to be able to
engage in one healthy living activity
and enjoy with their families and even
as siblings two years ago during the
North Face trail run when teacher Maria
actually signed up joon-ho for teacher
Maria encouraged him and progressively
guided and mentored him I can also see
joon-ho developing the endurance as well
as the determination to complete long
distance runs for us as a family I think
it also creates a bonding activity and
it has now become an additional annual
activity that we can look forward to do
together

majority of our students have high
support needs and complex communication

I understand the desire in many other
students how they want to be heard we
understood and be able to interact with

research based communication methods
assistive devices and apps to support
their learning
currently we have students with

I believe that music helps a child to
develop holistically so by learning the
instruments many of the students are
able to learn crucial coordination
skills like learning to isolate their
fingers play individual keys on the
piano and through music making they also
develop social-emotional skills such as
better self control higher self-esteem
and confidence it's also about training
their mind to believe that they can do
it and persevere through practice I also
had to learn to make modifications for
students for example we had to adapt
away the instruments for Kate
traditionally we liest if a school
working with children with multiple
disability in KL and we brought our
students over to perform for them in
wisdom as our students were able to see
other children like them doing similar
things they were inspired for many of
the kids they didn't believe that they
could learn specific instruments when we
started teaching them and they started
learning I think it was very empowering
for them so it really helps them to live
a dignified life Chelsea was a very shy
and reserved before she joined this
group but now I find that she's able to
sing and perform in front of a large
group of audience with confidence miss
Gina especially was there for all
and all the performances that the kids
actually participated in another thing
that my child will get a chance like
that to perform for many people to see
I'm very proud of her that she's able to

with a purpose of reaching out and

of life for families with a child with
autism enhancing family relationships
and family's emotional well-being as a

hold regular dialogues with them and
guide them with the use of materials for
activities effectively through the
