Transcripts
here are the products that you are going
to need to perform a proper move-in
without cleaning first and foremost we
have our Swiffer Duster
that we're going to use for dusting
secondly we're going to have our easy
off oven cleaner paired with our SOS
pads that I don't have at the moment
when cleaning the kitchen or actually
when entering the apartment make sure to
spray the oven first with this so that
it can do its magic now we have our Mr
Clean floor cleaner with antibacterial
for the floor
we have our non-scratchy sponge with
some Ajax now this is really great to
scrub the countertops scrub the
backsplash also from the backsplash if
needed at any point we do have our Mr
Clean Magic Erasers these help with
grease like super super well I also want
to mention that you can use some Dawn
soap and Magic Erasers as well for the
top of the cabinets should you find any
grease or you could also pack some
Degreaser but we like to use Ajax just
you know because it is less harsh of a
chemical now after you scrub the
counters down with your Ajax and your
non-scratch sponge you're going to want
to dry it down with a microfiber Rag and
then go over the countertops if they are
marble or Granite with some method
Granite cleaner this is the final touch
after scrubbing and washing the
countertops now we do have our neutral
pH neutral cleaner we do use this for
the front and inside of the cabinets and
honestly anywhere else that you may need
it and of course we have our final item
that we use at the end of the clean our
Zep stainless steel cleaner and we will
use this on any stainless steel in the
kitchen so the oven the refrigerator the
dishwasher and all of the handles and of
course we have our paper towel that we
like to use in pair with our glass
cleaner that I don't have featured here
at the moment but you guys know how much
I love Sprayway
now I wanted to show you guys some
equipment that we use for cleaning so
first we have our Swiffer six foot
extendable duster these are great for
high dusting as well as low dusting and
I love that you can throw these away
after every clean
to mop we have the O Cedar Spin Mop one
of my favorite mops of all time let's go
into this move-in move out apartment
cleaning follow me
all right everybody so I'm going to be
walking you through
a move-in move out cleaning for one of
our contracted clients okay so as you
can see the very front door is right
here
so this is the front door we have right
over here to the left we have the
laundry room as you can see this is
where the clients go ahead and do the
laundry if we turn over to the right
here we have the kitchen area we already
had the management
pull out the oven for us as well as the
refrigerator now we require management
to do this for us so that we don't
damage the floors okay we at no point
want to mess up anybody's floors
now here you can see the main room this
is going to be the living dining room
area
we have some lighting set up because
we're doing some videos today but
normally this wouldn't be here off to
the right we have a bedroom
okay a closet a walk-in closet
and one of the bathrooms so this
bathroom has a shower
and a toilet
and then we're gonna walk to the other
side of the apartment so this is a two
bedroom two bathroom apartment you guys
here we just have a little
closet for the towels that we're sure to
clean out and another full bathroom now
this bathroom has
a bathtub
now a lot of these apartments are left
in shambles because not everybody
regularly cleans their homes right
and now here is the second bedroom
so this is the apartment that we are
going to be cleaning from top to bottom
all right you guys so here we are in a
full bathroom for a move-in move out
cleaning this is a very detailed clean
so you want to make sure that you don't
miss any of these steps or items now the
very first thing that we're going to be
doing is doing the high dusting so be
sure to make sure there are no vents or
any cobwebs that are meeting up in the
corner where the ceiling meets the wall
now the Second Step would be cleaning or
rather prepping this disgusting shower
so the first thing you would want to do
is you know spray down the shower with
some product let it work in we're going
to be scrubbing the walls scrubbing the
shower head scrubbing the inside of just
the entirety of this shower the floor of
course and of course working on these
super disgusting
shower doors right these have a lot of
soap scum they're moldy so we're
definitely going to get to that now
while you can actually let this prep
before cleaning it I would say go ahead
and make sure to clean the toilet right
so we spray this down with some bathroom
cleaner you know use all the right tools
and make sure to always get behind and
on the sides of the toilet
now the next step or area that I would
be cleaning on this bathroom would be of
course to not forget any of the light
switches the outlets
and of course the baseboards okay the
baseboards are really important so are
the light switches and the outlets you
guys now we're going to move on to the
sink area okay so what we were going to
do first is make sure to clean and dust
that light off we're going to properly
clean this really really gross mirror
right here as you can see there's a lot
of splatter next is going to be the sink
area we're going to clean this whole
sink top make sure to get all of this
dust debris and dirt off of here and
then we're gonna head to these cabinets
so we actually vacuum out all of the
drawers and the cabinets and then we go
back in and we wet wipe them okay so we
wet wipe them and of course we clean you
know the ridges and the front as well
and that leaves us with the floors then
which we vacuum using our HEPA vacuums
and we spin mop and let dry and exit the
room the cleaning family if you guys are
interested in learning all there is to
know about move-in move out cleanings
for luxury apartment buildings and
multi-family housing units then be sure
to check out my new online course I will
be dropping a link for this course in
the description of this video
now here we have a walk-in closet the
closet absolutely has to be clean every
item or room area in the home is going
to get cleaned so as you can see this
closet has a lot of different shelving
so we will be doing the high dusting
first making sure you know there are no
cobwebs we're going to be cleaning out
all of the cabinets and of course doing
all the baseboards and the outlets and
then of course vacuuming this floor
hey cleaning family so here we are in a
bedroom and I'm going to give you the
steps for you not to miss when doing a
move-in move out cleaning now we always
like to start from top to bottom left to
right and that's because there's
something called gravity right so it
makes sense to do anything up top first
so now what we would be doing is doing
the dusting where the wall meets the
ceiling around the entire room we would
then be grabbing our three-step ladder
and cleaning this stand right here above
using some microfiber rags and a pH
neutral cleaner to wipe every single fan
blade we want to make sure we don't
leave any dust or debris behind now what
is next you ask well if we're working
from top to bottom that would bring us
to our Windows right so what we do is we
just clean the inside of the windows we
give a little wipe over here to where
you know another part of the window
where you'd see some dirt and dust we do
clean the inside of the glass and then
we go ahead
and we lift the window and we actually
vacuum this out and then wet wipe it so
we're going to go ahead and close this
for now now the next step since we've
done all the high items would be the
next level of height so we would then be
cleaning off all of the light switches
in the room and from the light switches
we're going to go ahead and clean all of
the outlets okay there are multiple
outlets in this room and you don't want
to forget any of them and then one of
the last steps would be to dust and wet
wipe the baseboards okay the baseboards
are very important
that leaves us with the floor because we
have carpeting on this floor all we're
going to have to do is vacuum and then
shut the lights off and close the door
and move on to our next area
now because the front door of the
apartment is over here we went ahead and
completed the bedroom and the bathroom
on the right side now hypothetically
speaking you could have picked either
the right or the left side because we do
clean out of the home at all times think
of a home as a Tetris game you always
want to start from the furthest point
and clean your way out of the room so
moving from this one bedroom and
bathroom we would then be going ahead
and cleaning that bedroom and bathroom
on the other side of the apartment only
leaving a rectangular section left to
clean which is the living room and
dining room area right here
as you can see and
the kitchen area behind me after we're
gonna do the kitchen you follow me
we're going to go ahead and clean out
this closet right here
okay from top to bottom cleaning off the
cabinets cleaning off the baseboards
vacuuming and mopping and the very last
area of cleaning this apartment would be
this laundry room
here we are in the laundry room you guys
and you know the very first step is
going to be what high dusting so after
we do the high dusting the next step is
going to be getting our three-step
ladder and getting up top here and
actually vacuuming and or wet wiping
this uh cabinet piece right and we're
also going to make sure to wipe this off
and then eventually stainless steel
polish it anything that's stainless
steel always gets polished after the
initial cleaning now as you can see over
here we have a water heater okay and
this has a bunch of dirt and debris so
we're going to wipe this down as well
and vacuum the base of that here we have
our washing machines and dryers and yes
these do need to be cleaned so with the
dryer you want to make sure to pull out
the filter you know vacuum all this dust
and lint and then go ahead and wash this
actually hand wash this in the sink now
these are pretty simple to clean because
all we do really is vacuum and wet wipe
the top and the side of the dryer fire
inside we do a little quick vacuum and a
little quick wet wipe of the unit
now sometimes these can be a little bit
more difficult with the washing machines
and I'll tell you why aside from
vacuuming and cleaning you know wet
wiping this uh unit from the outside
come here you'll see that there are dirt
and particles stuck all along here I
suggest using a really warm wet rag with
some Dawn soap and that'll help get some
of the grease off if not you can use a
Degreaser now in here in the actual
washing machine yes they do require for
us to clean it so we do a quick vacuum
and a quick wet wipe with a microfiber
Rag and possibly Degreaser I have no
idea how this family got grease in their
washing machine but they did now this is
a main focus point that you do want to
pay attention to this is a detergent cup
and this has to be removed okay now
there is a bunch of Caked Up and old
detergent in there all we do is allow
really hot water to kind of
you know rinse through it to get a
majority of the leftover detergent out
and then down here in this cup we also
take a rag and wipe out all of that
nastiness now after we're done cleaning
all of the surfaces and doing all of our
high dusting we're going to go ahead and
wipe down anything
um you know any of the light switches
and of course the outlets and then that
brings us to the baseboards and then of
course vacuuming and mopping the floor
hey guys so now we are in the kitchen
and normally this is the toughest room
to clean after the bathrooms because
they are so highly used people cook in
here people gather and eat right so I
want to tell you everything that you
guys need to clean when doing a move-in
move out cleaning in a kitchen so the
very first thing we're going to start
with as I have mentioned before in every
other room is the high dusting we're
going to make sure we don't have any
cobwebs around the perimeter of the room
or any of the events above now the next
thing that we would do in the kitchen is
actually go ahead and get on top of
these cabinets right so we usually use a
three-step ladder
but I just want to can I see that I just
want to show you guys what the top of
these cabinets look like
so these happen to not be super greasy
but yeah it's got a little bit so we're
gonna go ahead and degrease the top of
all of these cabinets because nobody
wants to move into this right and then
the very next step would be cleaning
inside every single cabinet so the
cabinets are going to be after the high
dusting again we're going to do the top
of the cabinets and we're going to do
the inside of the cabinets now if
they're really really dirty and have a
lot of food I normally have my team go
ahead and vacuum these out first and
then wet wipe them with a microfiber Rag
and some neutral pH cleaner we do not
want to forget the ledges
okay we don't want to forget the inside
and of course we do not want to forget
the outside of all of these cabinets now
after we complete doing the top the
inside and the outside of all the
cabinets we are going to be cleaning
the microwave okay so we're going to
clean the microwave inside and out as
you can see there is some food splatter
you know typical microwave stuff
if you're interested in learning on how
to win year-long contracts with property
management companies that will help to
add to your cleaning company's bottom
line then be sure to check out my new
move-in move out online cleaning course
in the description of this video we go
over how to understand who your ideal
client is how to Market to them how to
win proposals how to properly clean and
actually maintain that relationship so
that you have that contract for years to
come I'm going to go ahead and clean the
backsplash and again it's because we are
cleaning from top to bottom so we're
going to go ahead and degrease and clean
all of the backsplash around this
kitchen it is a little crowded right now
the after the backsplash would be the
countertops next right so we'll vacuum
these because these are super Dusty
we'll scrub them and then we will dry
them down now moving forward or the next
step is going to be doing the bottom
cabinets okay so we're going to open all
of the drawers we're going to vacuum
them out wet wipe them out as I
mentioned and do the same for the
cabinets right we're going to clean all
of this out clean the front clean the
back of them and then we're going to be
moving on to the dishwasher so we do
clean the inside and the outside of the
dishwasher now there's usually a little
filter down there at the bottom so if
you can access that make sure to pull
that out and clean it of all the
and the gunk
and then after we do the dishwasher
we're going to go ahead and move on to
the stove area so first we would go
ahead and vacuum and mop behind this
stove this is why the management pulled
it out because they want us to vacuum
and mop and then we would go ahead and
push this unit forward now after pushing
this unit forward we're going to go
ahead and clean the top of the stove
make sure to take the grates apart take
these little pieces off and then we're
going to get into the oven now I didn't
mention this in the beginning of the
video so I will say this now you should
absolutely spray the oven down when you
first walk in because the easy offer
oven off does take about an hour to work
now we sprayed this down a day prior and
we will be adding a little bit more
product before we get to cleaning this
stove now that we're done with the stove
we're going to move on to the
refrigerator okay so as you can see the
refrigerator has almost been completely
emptied we have one lunch Bowl here
but that's fine and what I tell my
teammates to do
my cleaning technicians is to take a
photo of both the refrigerator and the
freezer because
there have been so many times where we
did not remember how to put a
refrigerator or a freezer door back and
it's become a problem so we absolutely
100 percent want to take photos that way
we can remember how to put the unit back
together so we do clean both the
refrigerator and the freezer we take
every single little piece of these off
to be washed in the sink okay so first
we remove everything after taking those
photos we have somebody Washing parts in
the sink while somebody cleans the
actual inside of the unit okay and we're
also going to dry everything off put
everything back in the unit and clean on
top of the refrigerator make sure to
dust wipe do what you need to to clean
the top of the fridge and then of course
we're going to finish off by polishing
all of the stainless steel in the
kitchen and the final
part of cleaning the kitchen would then
be HEPA vacuuming the floors and mopping
them as well

thank you
