Transcripts
did you know you can use intro skills to
stop animations and even cancel them to
optimize your damage and save yourself
from getting knocked around from bosses
this video is full of tips and tricks
let's get started hey everyone M tached
here and I'm very excited for this video
because I'm going to help take you from
a noob to a pro I'm going to explain a
lot of the Mechanics for withering waves
give you tips for the launch of the game
and help you become the best player
possible all nice and quick just
remember this is test build footage and
if there's glitches here and there this
is not representative of the final build
of the game let's get started for tip
number one there are some very good free
units in the game yangyang is given to
you for free and she's exceptionally
good she can even funnel energy into
your other units using her outro skill
we'll talk about outro skills in a
minute the MC or Rover is fantastic and
becomes an absolute Powerhouse when you
start getting copies getting things like
crit rate and even a heal built into
their kit allowing you to potentially
move your healer onto other teams the MC
is definitely a mustu unit in my opinion
and when you do your very first pull on
the normal Banner you'll get a copy of
baji who's an exceptionally good healer
as well who once again has a very
powerful outro skill now these outro
skills are important so how do we
actually use them now in order to fight
properly in this game you need to
understand how all the skills work and
how you can trigger them so I'm going to
explain things like you're a dummy
because I am a dummy and I'm good at
doing that so let's start with our Forte
Forte is the bar above your HP bar as
you can see my Rover has a partially
filled bar and cannot use their Forte
skill
however yangyang has a full Forte bar
allowing her to use the Forte skill how
do you do it well it's going to
completely depend on the character in
the case of yangyang in order to use her
special ability I need to jump in the
air and do a plunging attack I have now
consumed my forte and I can't use that
ability again if I was to jump and
attack it will not work but everyone is
different
in the case of the MC I need to use my
actual skill ability but if you don't
have enough Forte if you've not hit
those notches it won't actually proc and
use the Ability this is the same for
every character their Forte circuit is
the way you play them in some cases it's
doing normal attacks or charged attacks
or heavy attacks there's multiple ways
to fill up their circuit and they'll
explain how you do it and what the
effect will do but just know that not
everyone procs it or uses it the same
way so that is one type of energy for
you to focus on the next thing is your
outro skill this is kerto energy and
these skills can only be proced when
you're maxed out so once again if we
look at the MC I do not have full kerto
energy I need to do more attack to do it
however once again my yangyang does have
a full bar now in the case of yangyang
she gives energy to the next unit on
field so if I run up and start a fight
you will see upon attacking this enemy
and swapping off of yangyang you can see
I can swap 10 of those units and proc it
my MC is now going to get Ultimate
Energy on the on the far side there so I
almost have full ultimate or resonance
Liberation energy now after I do a few
more attacks if I get a kill I now have
my ultimate the resonance Liberation all
right you're going to have to get used
to the different terms which now allows
me to use this skill and use up my
energy does that all make sense the main
ways to get kerto or outro skill energy
is using things like your skill your
actual Forte circuit and executing these
attacks as well as using your resonance
Liberation or your ultimate ability as
for the actual energy regeneration for
your ultimate ability it's from doing
any sort of attack killing enemies or
from passives as well and in the case of
the Forte circuit it's going to be
slightly different on each unit and how
you use it will change I highly
recommend you read up on how to do it
but typically it's just hey do a bunch
of attacks and then do a Charged attack
or do a bunch of attacks and then use
your skill or whatever it might be now
the ecosystem is extremely important
these are the monsters and bosses that
you fight in Game and you essentially
collect their soul and use them as
equipment every time you fight an enemy
there's a chance of dropping an echo and
there's multiple things that are going
on here and I want to explain it so you
fully understand collecting an echo and
placing them in the very first slot
equips them as a teammate or a summon
you can see I've got this morning aox or
aex I can summon this in as an attack I
will do that right now with the Q button
I've summoned that boss in for a quick
attack there's a cool down over there
and they will typically do damage as
well as buff or heal your team now eeko
are also gear they are something you
equip and level up and get stats from
there is going to be multiple different
classes of monsters there's the
celestial light monsters there's the
Sierra Gale monsters all of them will
have a different effect or passive from
using multiple monsters of that class
it's just like artifacts and Relics from
any other game the other thing is the
monsters can also have different stats
and they're going to need to be murdered
endlessly to get the best possible stats
all right now in almost every team comp
or every situ situation people are going
to be running a
43311 what this means is the different
cost of these different Echo you can
only have a total of 12 cost and the
reason people run it like this
43311 is because the four cost monsters
can give crit damage or crit rate and
it's the only um size monster that you
can get those stats the three cost
monsters allow you to have elemental
damage or cool things like energy
recharge and the one cost are typically
things like attack percentage HP
percentage so on and so forth this is
usually what people will run because it
allows you to get some of these awesome
main stats get your substats and
activate these passives there are
situations where mathematically you
could run uh uh multiple fours or
multiple threes and use two different
sets you absolutely can do that but
again this is kind of the the main way
people will use their Echoes but how do
we actually level our Echoes let's talk
about it echoes can be leveled up using
actual experience items but you can also
feed in other old units to level them up
as well but you can also use leveled up
Echoes to give you experience at about
75 to 80% of the value this is a level
20 purple Echo and it's getting me all
the way to level 17 so you can use older
Echo that you've leveled up to level up
better upgraded Echo now you can max out
and you can level this thing all the way
up but this is a mistake you don't want
to do this in the early game instead you
want to level it up bit by bit and I
want to explain why if I was to level
this up to 19 you're going to see that
the main stats are all going up but I've
also unlocked the potential to get a
substat I can then level it to 20 if I
wanted to and it would unlock another
chance at getting a
substat but in order to get and see
these substats you need to use a tuner
the tuner is a bit of a finite resource
you're not going to have an infinite
amount of these so by using these up to
reveal substats you want to make sure
they're actually good things like crit
rate energy regeneration things like
that because if you level something up
all the way to 20 and then all of your
substats are really bad it's not going
to be a good piece overall and you're
kind of stuck wasting all of that
experience I would highly recommend
doing it bit by bit if the first roll is
a great stat go to the next one if the
next one is good go to the next one but
don't instantly level up everything you
get that being said there are going to
be lower tier pieces that you will use
and potentially use for a very long time
you're not going to have a maxed out
build with maxed out legendary uh Echoes
day one there's just no way there's main
stats and substats and all these
different things and you're going to use
purple Echoes for a very long time so if
one rolls well you're probably going to
use it for like a month keep it enjoy it
and focus on getting some of the other
upgrades in other areas as we find all
the different echo in the world we are
going to fill out our Echo Gallery every
rank low green ones the blue ones the
purple ones and the gold and legendary
ones each one will give you experience
so you need to fight a lot of these
different enemies on top of this your
data bank is going to level up and allow
you to even absorb the highest tier ones
you need to get to rank 15 to start
getting the tier five uh increased
Rarity ones to even drop so you're going
to need to fight everything you see
collect every Echo you possibly can but
you also need to do the main quests and
level up your actual World tier your
actual Union level to unlock these
things you can see here even though I've
caught enough of the monsters I've got
all the Echoes I can't actually uh get
this Ascension until the next World tier
which is quite a bit of playtime now if
you're good on experience you can use
these to make new ones and in the early
game it could be an opportunity to get
some higher tier Echoes if they happen
to roll really well but if you use all
your low tier Echoes to do this you
won't have any experience to level them
up so I would be very cautious on this I
personally am not going to be using this
system uh very much if at all now the
game will give you free characters but
in order to progress and get other
characters you will eventually need to
pull on the different banners now just
to explain this there are multiple
banners available at the very beginning
of the game there's going to be a novice
discounted Banner but that Banner uses
these lustrous tide and you should only
use lustrous tied on that Banner upon
completing that banner and getting a
five star another Banner will open that
will also use lustrous tide you should
again only use this currency on that
Banner the reason why is these are the
normal basic polls in the game they will
give you them over time you can buy them
out of shops over time but don't rush
and use what is called asterite pulling
on the banner now you can use your
asterite to buy the normal lustrous tide
which is a massive mistake it's much
more important and valuable to buy
radiant tide to get the new characters
or potentially forging tide to pull on
the weapon banners under no circumstance
should you ever be using asterite on any
of the normal banners you will get them
eventually you will hit pity on them
eventually but you want to focus all of
your asterite into the actual character
banners or potentially their weapon
banners as long as you want that weapon
there are multiple events in game that
will give you some polls as well as even
free characters including this login
bonus you can get a free Yan wo from
doing the Tower of adversity and is
relatively easy to get in the first few
days of playing and by leveling up your
union level by opening chests doing
quests and doing your daily missions
you'll be able to get a bunch of pull
which are lustrous tide I understand you
probably want to pull for your five
stars right away on the you know
discounted Banner but do not you know
Rush use the lustrous tide there will be
plenty of it long term now there's one
other thing that's important and that is
there's a five-star weapon selector
that's going to be available in the game
but what weapon should you choose let's
talk about it you should pick a five
star for the characters you enjoy
playing but also I would highly
recommend either the gun or the sword
because the main stat on it is crit rate
the passive on them are all pretty much
identical but both the gun and the sword
have quite a bit of potential to be good
DPS units and supporting units the other
ones are a little bit average they're
definitely good but if I was going to
risk it I would not be using my weapon
selector on any of the other weapons
they're fine they're passable they're
better than many of the fourstar choices
but I think that both the gun and the
sword are leagues above any of the other
options so that's the way I'm viewing it
as for weapons that you should
definitely keep an eye on there are
multiple of these kind of white colored
weapons that are in the game that all
have a very similar function as you can
tell they both have energy regen as
their main stat and they provide kerto
energy as their passive these are really
good weapons for any sort of of healer
or supporting unit in the game and if
you see any of them they're pretty darn
safe to build as for damaging weapons
there's a few that shine like the Nova
burst that is really easy to stack up
and get good damage from but a lot of
the fourstar weapons are kind of me they
don't really shine or stand out as these
crazy musthave things if you get them
you can build them but there are some
craftable ones you should check out now
the craftable weapons are something you
can work towards longterm and get
multiple copies to make these passives
even stronger now there are some that
are somewhat interesting but I think one
of the ones that shines for me is the
gun because it's pretty good DPS and if
you get multiple copies it can stack up
and be kind of crazy and the sword is
able to be used by a character named Den
Jin who's able to consume their own HP
and you can actually kind of cheese this
and have some pretty darn good damage
using this craftable sword there not
amazing but it is an option for you the
other ones are fine but they don't
really stand out as god tier options in
the main town There's a souvenir store
that can give you a really big boost in
the early game opening any sort of chest
in the game will give you resources but
we'll also give you these wooden
currencies these uh wooden textured
Shard now you can actually trade these
in for goodies at this souvenir shop and
what you might not know is there's
actually some polls in there there's
lustrous TI that are available to
purchase there's also experience to help
progress and level up some of your
characters there's tuners for some of
the high tier Echoes but one of the
other things that you might not know or
expect is there are some of these other
resources here that can be used for
ascensions in the early game now
depending who you pick and who you level
and depending how far you are into the
game you can actually use these to
ascend someone earlier than you might
expect or normally be able to because
the resources don't drop other than from
this shop in the very very early game
until you start pushing out multiple
hours into the game if that makes sense
so come in and check this shop uh as
soon as you've done some major
exploration and have some of these
wooden credits well well well isn't this
rare we actually just found a shiny Echo
I didn't expect this but this is
something I'll add into the video If you
ever see a unit or a monster that has
that swirl around it fight it
immediately because not only will it
look cool uh they will automatically
drop their Echo now this shiny Phantom
Echo counts as a separate entry in your
data bank so if you can find one it's a
good way to level up your datab bank for
my next tip I recommend you use an
interactive map they are fantastic tools
so you can find different flowers or
things you might need for a character
Ascension you can find different enemies
but also things like these sonin caskets
which are very important let's talk
about it these bad boys are hidden all
over the map and sometimes in random
obscure areas you want to collect them
all because it's going to be a major
progression thing for you on top of this
I would highly recommend when you find
one you mark it down on the map there's
a 100 different markers that you can use
and I would recommend that you mark it
as done so when you use the interactive
map you can know that you've already
done this area and you've completed it
if not you could spend days trying to
find that last one and it is very very
frustrating personally the way I play if
I'm exploring and I see one of them pop
up on the map I will hunt it down until
it's done and then I will mark it as
completed in the case of this there's
two of them I would hunt them both down
make sure it's done so I don't have to
come back later especially on some of
the further you know outreaches of the
map delivering these will give you some
crazy rewards including asterite and
some free pulls but it will also give
you some crazy stuff like Ascension
materials for your Rover which are a
requirement to even take them up and use
them because there's no other way to get
them and it will even give you copies or
dupes of your character to make them
even stronger unlocking things like crit
rate extra energy regen and healing for
the Rover after progressing in the story
and unlocking your daily missions you
should do these every day they're
relatively easy to do but if you want to
be on par with everyone else you need to
do these because this gives you a
massive amount of union experience this
is one of the biggest ways to level up
your account long term and get your
five-star weapon selector and things
like that if you sleep on this you will
fall pretty drastically behind that's
how they get you that's how they get you
playing and and coming back day after
day uh luckily they do give you some
other rewards and things from doing it
uh you don't want to miss out on this
now wave plates are stamina in the game
it's one of the main ways that you will
make meaningful progress on your account
certain things can only be farmed using
Wave plates like Ascension materials and
things for experience etc etc now this
recharges over time but what you want to
do on day one is get to a point where
you can spend some of this stuff very
early so that it's always recharging and
you're always getting that benefit my
recommendation in the early days is to
focus on your core units and only use
your wave plates when you need a
particular material to ascend them or
Ascend their weapon level up a skill or
something like that typically in the
game things like experience you get from
quests and from chests and there's quite
a bit of it to level up your first two
or three units and pretty much Max them
out uh in the early you know weeks and
months of the game however things like
boss materials typically need wave
plates so that you can progress my focus
is going to be on things like this as a
priority uh doing my weekly challenge
where you can get crafting materials for
weapons and things like that anything
that I can do to ascend my characters
and take him the next tier that is the
goal really quick tip is at the
beginning of the game they have these
little tutorials go and do them because
it's a pretty good chunk of experience
to level you up and get you rolling and
if you go into particular characters
test runs you can actually get some of
their materials to ascend them the first
time uh there's particular flowers that
they need in order to ascend them and if
you don't know where they are the map it
could be kind of annoying so this is a
really quick way to get your first kind
of character ascensions up and running I
would highly recommend focusing on your
main quests because it gives you a lot
of union experience as well as other
resources and you want to push this as
far as you can now a lot of the early
game recipes aren't that crazy but even
this basic one that's super easy to do
it gives you 100 attack which in the
case of some of your lower level units
and low weapons it's like doubling your
damage for 15 minutes it's pretty darn
good but you also want to cook things
because it'll increase your Chef level
and start unlocking some crazy recipes
for the endgame where you can start
giving your team 28% crit rate for 30
minutes things like that so cooking is
going to be something that will really
help you out when you're fighting
different bosses but this is something
that's going to take some time you need
to cook quite a bit a quick thing before
the video finishes I'm going to be
streaming a lot at twitch.tv/ mted and
if you gift two subs on the stream you
actually get some asteroid and other
rewards to get you started in game it
helps you it helps me it's a win-win I
think I covered a lot of the main tips
that I wanted to give out in the early
days of withering waves but I will have
more advanced and endgame tips as the
game progresses and you guys are ready
for them hopefully this helped make sure
to subscribe for more and thank you so
much for watching
