Outlines
🏭 Challenges Facing German Businesses
Astrid Hamker, representing over 12,000 mid-sized companies in Germany and leading the CDU Economic Council, discusses the current and future challenges of the German economy. She emphasizes the historic strength of the 'Made in Germany' label but warns of a precarious situation due to a mix of structural competitive disadvantages and economic downturns. Hamker identifies bureaucratic complexity, high energy costs, and a skilled labor shortage as self-inflicted structural issues harming the economy. She criticizes government promises of comprehensive support as unrealistic and harmful to the principles of a social market economy. Hamker expresses concern that the current government policies are moving away from these principles, potentially endangering Germany's economic prosperity and undermining the investment climate.
🌍 German Businesses Facing Global Challenges
In the second part, the focus shifts to the tendency of German businesses to invest abroad, driven by more favorable conditions in countries like the USA. Despite the loyalty of many mid-sized companies to Germany, the current economic environment, characterized by high energy costs and excessive bureaucracy, pushes investment overseas. Hamker points out the stark contrast between the American approach, which trusts businesses to drive innovation, and the European model, which tends to over-regulate. She highlights the risk of Germany losing its manufacturing edge to overseas markets but remains optimistic about the resilience of Germany's 'hidden champions.' The summary concludes with a call for political action to improve the investment climate in Germany and Europe, ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the German economy.

willkommen zu schulerfragen was ist mein
heutiger Gast vertritt mehr als 12000
Unternehmen mittelständische Unternehmen
in Deutschland ist selbstunternehmerin
bei der piepenbrockgruppe und ist die
Chefin des wirtschaftsrats der CDU
herzlich willkommen Astrid hamker vielen
hatte ja das Prädikat made in Germany
Natur gegeben strurellen
Wettbewerbsnachteile sind hausgemacht
das ist im wesentlichen das ganze Thema
Bürokratie da sprechen die Unternehmen
von Komplexitätskosten das ist das Thema
Energie wir haben überproportional hohe
Energiekosten in Deutschland und das ist
das Thema Fachkräftemangel Demografie
der auch zur wachstumsbr Bremse für die
deutsche Wirtschaft geworden ist jetzt
habe ich mein Video des Kanzlers
mitgebracht wir müssen jetzt nicht
stramm stehen aber wir können ja mal
reingucken immerhin er verspricht bei
seiner sommerpressekonferenz es wird ein
drittes Entlastungspaket geben you never
wiederholen you never walk alone das hat
Versprechen was keine Regierung dieser
Welt einhalten kann der Staat ist
letztendlich nicht dazu da die
Lebensrisiken
finanzieren jetzt klingt Panikattacke
aktuell also was hören sie da aus ihren
Unternehmen beim Wirtschaftsrat die
Stimmung in den Unternehmen ist derzeit
schlecht durch die eben erwähnte
toxische Mischung einerseits dass wir
eben strukturelle Schwierigkeiten haben
andererseits dass die Konjunktur auch in
einigen Ländern eingebrochen ist und
Unternehmer müssen
Investitionsentscheidungen treffen und
die treffen Sie natürlich auch auf Basis
von Rahmenbedingungen und die
Rahmenbedingungen sind ungünstig
insbesondere was das Thema Energiepreise
betrifft was das Thema Bürokratie
betrifft und deshalb gehen heute viele
Investitionen ins Ausland nicht
innerhalb Europas sondern sogar noch
weiter nach USA we letztendlich der
Standort Deutschland und Europa für die
Unternehmen nicht mehr wettbewerbsfähig
ist haben sie da konkrete Beispiele was
Firmen da aufgebürdet wird
ja wir haben überproportionale
Energiekosten was natürlich gerade auch
energieintensive Branchen in
existentielle Situationen hineinbringt
wir haben den ganzen bürokratieapparat
wir haben das Lieferketten
sorgfalltspflichten Gesetz muss man
Unternehmen muss dabei renditeaspekte
Zug Grunde legen und es gehen derzeit
sehr sehr viele Investitions
letztendlich versucht alles in
Weltmarktführer in ihren jeweiligen
geworden einfach mal
reinschauen
