Q & A
What is a collaboration in terms of social media?
-A collaboration in social media is when two or more people, brands, or organizations work together toward a specific goal, often exchanging services or products in return for promotion.
What are the two main types of social media collaborations?
-The two main types of social media collaborations are barter (or 'butter') collaborations and paid collaborations. In barter collaborations, services are exchanged for products without upfront payment, while paid collaborations involve both product delivery and financial compensation for content creation.
How does a barter collaboration work?
-In a barter collaboration, the brand sends the product to the content creator, and in return, the creator offers services like posting a review or creating a video. Some barter collaborations may require upfront payment from the creator, which is later reimbursed after the content is posted.
What is the misconception about collaborations and follower count?
-Many people believe that they need a minimum of 1,000 followers to start getting collaborations, but this is not true. The video creator mentions that they started receiving PR packages and collaborations when they had only 300-400 followers.
What is the importance of preparing a pitch for brand collaborations?
-A well-prepared pitch is crucial when approaching brands for collaborations. It should be concise and professional, around five to six lines, to grab attention quickly without overwhelming the recipient with too much information.
How can AI tools like ChatGPT assist in writing collaboration pitches?
-AI tools like ChatGPT can help content creators draft collaboration pitches by providing sample templates based on the creator's content type. However, it’s important to modify the AI-generated pitch to add a personal touch.
Should content creators wait for brands to approach them for collaborations?
-No, content creators should proactively approach brands for collaborations instead of waiting for brands to notice them. There are too many creators for brands to find everyone, so reaching out increases the chances of securing a collaboration.
How can content creators find brands to collaborate with?
-Creators can find potential brands by looking at their fellow creators’ PR or collaboration highlights on social media, approaching those brands directly. They can also discover new brands that fit their niche and follower count.
What is the role of influencer marketing agencies in securing collaborations?
-Influencer marketing agencies act as intermediaries between brands and content creators, offering both barter and paid collaboration opportunities. Creators can register with these agencies to receive campaigns based on their profile.
What advice does the creator give about approaching larger brands with fewer followers?
-The creator advises not to hesitate in approaching larger brands, even with a smaller following, as some brands may still offer opportunities. The creator shared a personal experience where a large brand responded with a Google form for registration despite having only 700 followers.

🎬 Introduction to Collaborations and PR Packages
Anamika Singh Rawat introduces herself and her YouTube channel, welcoming viewers and outlining the topic of the video: how content creators and YouTubers can get collaborations and PR packages. She shares her personal experience and promises to explain the process behind getting free products and collaborations, encouraging viewers to watch the video till the end.
📱 Social Media Accounts and Early PR Packages
Anamika shares that she manages multiple social media accounts with varying follower counts, from 700 to 4,500 followers. Despite having just 700 followers on her beauty and skincare page, she started receiving PR packages and collaborations. She explains that brands either approach creators or vice versa and that she will go over the full procedure, including tips for those with fewer followers.
🤝 Understanding Collaborations: Barter vs. Paid
Anamika explains the concept of collaboration, where brands and creators work together for mutual benefit. She discusses two main types of collaborations: barter (where services are exchanged for products) and paid (where creators are compensated). In barter collaborations, creators receive products and give reviews or content in exchange. Sometimes these deals are 'prepaid,' and other times, creators have to pay upfront and get reimbursed later. Paid collaborations involve receiving both products and payment for creating content.
💡 Barter Collaborations in Detail
In barter collaborations, brands send products to creators in exchange for their services (like creating reviews, videos, or reels). Anamika details two types of barter deals: those where payment comes after product reviews and those where products are sent for free without any upfront payment. She highlights that creators with small followings are still eligible for such deals and should not wait until reaching a certain number of followers to pursue collaborations.
✍️ Crafting a Perfect Pitch
Anamika emphasizes the importance of a well-written pitch when approaching brands for collaborations. She advises that the pitch should be concise—around 5-6 lines—and professional, avoiding overly long messages or brief, unprofessional ones. She also mentions that she will provide a sample pitch in the video description. Additionally, Anamika apologizes for background noise in the video and encourages viewers to use headphones and watch at a faster speed.
🤖 Leveraging AI for Pitch Writing
Anamika suggests using AI tools like ChatGPT to assist in creating pitches for brand collaborations. She advises viewers to personalize AI-generated pitches by adding a human touch to avoid sounding robotic. She also stresses the importance of addressing brands by name to make the pitch more personalized and to increase chances of success. Anamika offers further help in the comments if viewers need assistance with AI tools.
📩 Should You Approach Brands or Wait?
Anamika explains that waiting for brands to approach creators is inefficient, especially with so many content creators vying for attention. Instead, she encourages proactively reaching out to brands. She shares a smart tactic of checking other creators' profiles for collaboration highlights, which can reveal approachable brands that collaborate with small influencers. This can help creators gauge which brands may work with their follower count.
📊 Taking a Chance on Bigger Brands
Anamika recounts her experience of reaching out to bigger brands like Colorbar, despite having only 700 followers and knowing her content quality isn't exceptional. Surprisingly, the brand responded with a form to fill out, showing that even smaller creators can get noticed. She advises viewers not to doubt their eligibility and to apply to big brands anyway, as it costs nothing and brands might give them a chance.
🔗 Registering with Influencer Marketing Agencies
Anamika suggests registering with influencer marketing agencies like Budding Influencers and My Collab Story, which help connect brands with creators. These agencies send collaboration opportunities and invites to campaigns via WhatsApp and email. She encourages creators to explore both independent outreach and working through agencies to maximize opportunities, as she personally receives collaborations through both methods.
🎁 Getting Approached by Brands
Anamika talks about how budding and established brands sometimes approach creators directly. As followers increase, the likelihood of being approached by bigger brands grows, but even small creators with as few as 200-300 followers can start receiving collaborations. She emphasizes that the journey to collaboration success requires proactive effort, not just waiting for opportunities to come.
📌 Wrapping Up: Final Tips and Encouragement
Anamika concludes by encouraging viewers to leave comments if they have further questions or if she missed covering any points. She also suggests that she may create a follow-up video if there is enough demand. Finally, she thanks the viewers for joining and bids them goodbye, reminding them to stay safe and healthy.

hi everyone this is Anamika Singh rawat
and welcome back to my YouTube channel I
hope all of you are doing well in
today's video we are going to discuss a
very interesting topic and I think every
content creator every YouTuber has this
question and the question is how to get
collaborations how to get PR Packages
Etc
so in today's video I will be telling
you all how I get collaborations how do
I get PR packages free stuffs free skin
care Etc so if you want to know more
about this make sure you watch this
video till the end
thank you
[Music]
first of all let me tell you that I
handle multiple social media accounts in
some accounts I have around 4 500
followers in some I've just started like
700 followers if I talk about this
makeup and skincare thing so I've uh
recently started my new page and there I
have around 700 followers as of now and
I've started getting uh PR packages and
collaborations and all of that so I will
tell you how I get collaborations what
is uh you know like the actual procedure
you will have to uh approach the brand
or brand approaches you we will be
discussing everything about it also if
you have any queries like make sure you
watch this video till the end but if
still there's something that I missed
covering in the video and you have a
doubt you can definitely put it in the
comments first of all let's talk about
what exactly this collaboration is
collaboration is basically I went to or
more people or brands or any
organization they are working together
for a specific goal that is
collaboration now in terms of social
media collaborations could be of two
types they could be butter or paid Bata
means you are uh actually like offering
your services in exchange of the
products Potter collaborations could be
of different types some of these battle
collaborations are prepaid some of these
are not prepaid if you're a content
creator you might have come across such
deals where you know you will have to
order a particular product from Amazon
or any other
um you can say e-commerce website and
after ordering when you receive it you
will have to you know write the review
you will have to submit written review
or video as well pictures as well right
and then after your review goes live you
will be getting paid for that so
basically that is free only by it is not
prepaid once you you will have to order
with your own money once you receive the
products and the review goes live then
you will be paid by the brand this is
one type of butter collaboration another
part of collaboration would be like it
is prepaid so the brand itself sends you
the products right whatever the amount
is you don't have to worry about the
amount or the money brand will send you
the product you will have to you know
shoot a video or write a review or
anything like that on any social media
platform be it your Instagram YouTube
Etc right so these are the different
types of collaborations in butter
collaboration we all understood that uh
here we don't get money so basically the
brand will be sending the product and in
exchange of those products we are going
to offer our services like will be you
know like giving a review shooting a
video giving them a real for you know
like running their ads or anything like
that okay so this is regarding butter
then comes the paid collaboration in
paid collaboration
the brand will be sending the products
then you will be uh you know like making
a real or video or anything a static
post or anything on XYZ social media
platform right and you will also be paid
for it so this is a paid collaboration
now
a lot of people think that we cannot get
collaborations oh you know like if we
have less than 1000 followers but let me
tell you that is
not something that you should think
about like if I talk about myself I have
700 followers currently I have 700 but I
started getting PRS when I had around
300 to 400 followers right so you don't
need to worry about that that when you
reach that 1000 followers Milestone then
only you will get PR packages or
collaborations it's not like that you
can start as early as possible
so now let's talk about how I get
collaborations so first of all what I do
is that I have prepared a pitch now
preparing a pitch is an important thing
and how to prepare it and what should be
the length of the pitch now you need to
understand that beat a brand or be it
you know like the creators itself we do
not have a lot of time okay so everybody
is busy in their own lives if you talk
about the brands of Brands receive
hundreds of you know collaboration
requests for you know purchase requests
on their website or their pages and all
of that so you don't need to write long
paragraphs of pitch okay you don't need
to do that and the pitch shouldn't be as
short as you know like hey are you off
for collaboration that seems very
unprofessional so it shouldn't be too
long and it shouldn't be too short it
should be you know like concise and
precise and crisp up to the point okay
so you can uh write around five to six
lines and you can try to sum up your
pitch in that so I will put a sample
pitch like the pitch that I sent across
Brands and you know the pitch that has
gotten selected a lot of times I will
put that in the uh you know the
description box so make sure you check
it from there really sorry about the
background noise that is coming because
actually there's a scrape yard over here
and that is why there's a lot of noise
24 7. so please bear with that I will
suggest you to use earphones right and
watch this video in 1.5 XP right now um
yes so once you're ready with your pitch
you know let me tell you you can
automate this process as well you don't
need to put a lot of thoughts to it on
how to write a pitch you can just go to
chart GPT or any other AI tool if you
need any suggestions on that also you
can let me know in the comments okay so
take help of any AI tool chat GPT for
example
the famous and easy to use so basically
you can type over there saying that I'm
a content creator I create content on
beauty makeup fashion whatever it is you
can write like that you just need to
write a proper prompt for it so
um I am a beauty content creator and I
want uh to send collaboration requests
to the brand so write me a pitch for it
so you can try and you know like uh take
help of the AI and write it in but that
does not mean that you need to just copy
paste from here to there just add a
human touch as well sometimes these AI
tools they lack the human touch so make
sure that you are modifying it and
improvising it according to your needs
uh instead of you know like uh say
typing a general hi or hello I am this
this you can type High plump or you can
say hi dot in key right so try to give a
personalized touch I know this could be
you know like a task every time you have
to send a request to the brand you will
have to write its name but that makes a
lot of difference right so you can try
doing that as well
this is also a very common question a
lot of people have a lot of creators
have that uh whether we should approach
the brands or brands are going to
approach the creators on their own now
let me tell you if you are sitting like
this that okay one day my content will
get noticed and some brand will come to
me will approach me and you know like we
will have a collaboration and everything
so let me tell you that this is a sheer
wastage of time because what happens is
there are lacks of creators which are
there okay like there's no not even a
count of it right and not every brand
comes to know about you know like every
Creator which is there so to get notice
you need to approach the plan that is a
smart choice instead of you know like
just sitting there waiting that someone
will approach you someday right they
might approach you but definitely you
are wasting a lot of time in between
when you can actually get a lot of
products and make content around it you
can do an easier thing a smart thing
that you can go to your fellow creators
page their profile click on the pr or
collab highlight and then you can see
different different brands over there
you can actually uh you know go to the
profiles of those Brands and send them
this pitch like DM them the pitch right
now this is more easy to buy because uh
not every brand you know like
collaborates with you can say Nano
creators or micro influencers which are
there I not every brand has
the profile of the fellow Creator who
has like say 500 700 1000 followers two
thousand followers you actually get to
know that okay the you get to know about
the brand criteria also that okay if
this is a brand for example Dot and key
is a brand so dot and key I can see
sense products to
um you can say creators who have 200
followers 300 followers 500 followers so
you can also understand that okay I also
stand a chance at this so this is how
you can do it and you can also approach
me with new brands that you do not see
on your fellow creators page it's it's
okay for example I know that color bar
is way out of my reach I know it I have
700 followers as of now in my you know
like quality of the content is also okay
issues it's not very outstanding I'm
obviously improving but I sent a request
to color bar and to my surprise they
actually sent me a link okay so they
send me a Google form link where I had
to register and put my details I know I
might not hear back from them because
once we fill up the details our profile
gets through the screening process and
my profile might have not gotten
shortlisted at that point of time or I
don't know even if they shortlisted or
not even if they had a look at those
details or not but you will hear back
from some of the brands and it is
actually very uh surprising to see that
many big Brands they actually you know
like are up for collaboration
so don't make a perception on yourself
that okay I am having very less
followers I cannot approach a particular
brand it does not cost you anything just
DM them the pitch if they are ready they
will definitely send you a Google form
or any other link where you can give
your details or if they're not really
they will politely say no that we are
not looking for of collaborations or any
other opportunities or your profile
doesn't fit our criteria anything like
that they will definitely do it this is
another way of getting collaborations
what you can actually do is you can
register with any influencer marketing
agency I'll give you a few examples like
this budding influencers hype on my
collab story Etc I will put more memes
if I uh you know like remember them in
the description box so you can check it
from there these are just a few examples
you can register with them so these
influencer marketing agencies they
actually form a bridge between the brand
and the Creator okay so they bring
different different collaborations
better as well as paid collaboration you
can register with them and whenever
there is a new uh you know like
collaboration once you put your details
your WhatsApp number your email address
um if your profile fits the criteria
they will definitely mail you uh you
know like the recent campaigns which are
there they will uh send you the invite
Links of the WhatsApp group so that you
can join and there you can get the
recent campaigns and everything so also
you can get collaborations I will
suggest you to to try out all the things
at once right as I talk about myself I
have registered with a few influencer
marketing agencies so I get products
from them also and I get products from
the main brand as well for example Dot
and key so dot and key itself sends me a
few PR packages and I also get Dot and
key PR packages through the influenza
marketing agency as well so this is how
you can actually start up with the
collaborations sometimes brands also
approach you on their own so sometimes
you know like well established brands or
you can say some budding brands also
approve so mostly budding Brands will
approach if you have less number of
followers and as you have more and more
number of followers as you grow uh you
can say more well-established Brands
will approach you so I also got
approached by few budding Brands and
then I also got a cruise by uh one or
two you can say well established Brands
as well so it also depends on your work
and the brand criteria but do it for
Brands to approach you you can start
collaborating with as less as 200 or 300
followers that was all about it from my
end if I missed out on something on some
information you can put your uh you know
questions in the comment section and I
will try to resolve it there or I might
make another part of this video if
there's a major chunk of something that
I left so yes do let me know in the
comments
um did you like the video if you need
any other information as well and yes
thank you so much for joining I will see
you all next time till then stay safe
stay healthy and bye
