um I used to be a person that would
overthink a lot and it would really
haunt me you know it would really uh
ruin a lot of
stuff uh for me in my daily life um I
used to think so much about you know
everything all the time over and over
and over again and it would be these
things that I couldn't even
control if you can't control the things
you're thinking about you deserve to be
let go of them you know you you you
don't have to think about everything all
at once are you really used to be a
person that that did this
until I've made I made my uh you know I
still overthink sometimes I'm not
perfect and I'm not pretending to be but
I'm
really trying to I know it's not the way
it's not the way for anything to happen
or anything to succeed
overthinking you got to learn to pick
your battles in your
mind or you will always be stuck you
know you will not you won't make any
progress if you're trying to solve all
the world's problems at once start by
solving
yourself um that's an impossible problem
um because you know journeying your your
your own self journey is something
that's all always in progress you will
never be uh you won't be the same person
you were yesterday at least that's my
belief um but I really yeah I really
used to let my thoughts control me so
much until I learned to
detach and yeah I I had to learn a hard
way I ruined my uh I had a a girlfriend
My First Girlfriend
I was really happy and I really really
liked her I I loved her and uh I still
do to this day and I and we're luckily
we're on good terms now but h i really
yeah I screwed up big time because I
just kept overthinking and it just
slowly ruined my relationship you know
and yeah um I've learned that's that's
one of the most you know most important
key factors in and if you want to
progress in anything you got to kind of
learn to be content now I'm not saying
be content and not search for more and
by more I don't mean materialistically I
mean of course spiritually or
mentally
um because it's amazing it's a it's a
great thing to have goals if you have
goals I have goals uh I think we all do
and if you don't have a goal um that's
fine a lot of people don't have a
purpose I don't have a purpose per se
but I do have
goals and and I think if if you don't
have a goal or a a purpose or any of
those
things uh that's also fine but you were
probably feeling very lost and I've been
there myself I've been there very much
uh and like it's a it's not a nice place
to be because you feel like like you
don't know what you're doing and yeah
it's it's
you kind of feel like you're outside of
yourself if that makes sense um
but uh what I what I did to get out of
that hole um to help make my life
simpler or you know I'm when I'm saying
simpler it's not that it's not um
complex because every human is complex
we are complex creatures but uh yeah
what I did was um
just slowly doing what I wanted to do
more and more because I feel
like I I was at one point at that point
before the like I had a big turning
point in my life approximately like yeah
about one and a half two years ago and
it really changed me a lot and it
changed like my values and principles a
lot I like a lot H I've definitely
become a new person since then because I
had to I really had to uh and a lot of
people will experience turning points
like that and it's really different when
it hits people but it hit me when I was
18 I'm 20 now and
um yeah I had to do
something uh
but um yeah as I was saying uh what I
did to make my life simpler was uh just
doing what I wanted to do because I
wasn't saying true to myself before that
uh I mean I did stuff that I liked but I
kind of you know I kind of as humans do
we We crave like acknowledgement and We
crave being a part of other people's
like
groups uh and and and we're afraid of
being isolated most of us anyways
luckily I've I've known that feeling uh
a few times you know here and there you
feel very very isolated a lot of us do
but um
what I what I gained from it was that
you know you you sort of you find your
interest there that's when you get to
know yourself because you're stuck when
you have nobody else that's not true
that that'll never happen because you'll
always have yourself and in the end
you'll always have
yourself uh and that's not to say that
you shouldn't care for your friends or
love your friends cuz I do I worship my
friends I love my friends they're
amazing but you have to be your own
person you know that's what they like
that's what your friends love you for
you being you you know you shouldn't be
someone else and in this day of day and
age when social media is King social
media is our daily you know thing I
wouldn't even call it a hobby it's just
a thing that exists now and and and
people are addicted to it I I I'm I'm
not addicted to it anymore I really I
used to be like just scrolling and
scrolling and like getting nothing out
of it cuz you don't and I started to get
more productive Hobbies like I I love
language learning I'm trying to learn
Portuguese right now I'm really bad at
it but you know I'm I'm giving an effort
you know and I hope it'll Aid me in the
future because I want to travel and
that's just me you know you could do
whatever you want to do and I'm not
saying that if you want to watch YouTube
or scroll that's not that's that's your
thing I love watching YouTube sometimes
too I'm uploading this to YouTube uh
um but yet comparison is the thief of
joy and social media is the king of that
comparison and whether you say you
compare whether you agree that you
compare yourself or not uh that's not
for me to say but I I think we all kind
of subconsciously do that cuz I found
myself um sort
of my interests like it was so weird it
was like trippy that
um my my just sort of aligned itself
with social media and you know then and
you get the feeling like am I in
what am I a bot like if you get what I'm
saying sorry that's not really well
spoken but
um yeah I learned to detach myself I
recently did a 7day detox from social
media which yeah it it's not crazy and
it doesn't sound crazy but it helped me
a lot now I just I yeah I don't spend my
time doing that anymore I found like
when I did that I I could get closer to
myself and listen to what I wanted to do
inside like my true self not myself like
affected by what social media tells me
or what that shows me to do
um yeah so I think social media is
really killer to uh to you and your
interests you know cuz you feel like we
we we live our lives too
much
um in in thought of what people would be
judging us for what we like doing you
know and I think life is just too short
for that life is not a dress rehearsal
you know you only get one shot so why
waste your time like pretending to be
someone else you only have yourself and
just make that the best version of
yourself that you can do it's a waste of
time anything else the that's my my idea
you know you don't have to listen to me
H you can do your own thing I'm just
sharing my thoughts and if this helps

yeah life can really become extremely
simple if you just take a
breather shut everything like outside
off like learn to detach that's that's
the most important skill I would or like
yeah most important skill I would advise
everybody to practice like learn to
detach cuz if you don't detach you'll
never be content with yourself and you
have to you have to be content with
yourself you have to love yourself
or else you're just going to be
miserable and I've been there trust me
it's not a nice place you know as I said
you you in the end you always have
yourself you only have yourself and
I'd rather that self be someone who
loves me and pushes me to go further in
a gentle way than someone beating me up
all the time over anything and like
reminding me of what I've done wrong and
my regrets and stuff you know I don't
want to live by that I I mean I do stand
by my my uh my mistakes and and that's
what brought me here today and um yeah I
I I'm just what what I'm trying to to
say is
that
just stop worrying about superficial
things because it is that's all it is
social media is so
superficial and it's taking yourself
away from
you
