Transcripts
hello I spent all morning showing I am
creating a
picture and uh I had a conversation with
a friend
yesterday and uh she says to me you
overthink
things and I've never thought of it that
way I do think very deeply about some
subjects and um things stay in my mind
for quite some time I can I can remember
things that has happened like years
ago but then I am struggling to remember
what happened last
week but uh anyway um yeah I'm I'm uh
thinking about all kind of things all
the time it's like my brain never
stops and I think that is a trait for
a creative person I think lots of people
who create uh create anything create art
create with their hands create with
their head anyone with a creative streak
in them
um I think it is hard to switch
off uh and she says I overthink things
now I've never thought of it that way I
cannot just switch my brain
off it's always on the go but anyway I'm
I'm halfway through
this this is going to be a picture now I
get so far into these projects
and I'm thinking when is it going to be
finished when will it be ready when have
I done enough you see I'm thinking this
all the time everything I do I am
thinking how long will it take and how
shall I start and when shall I stop and
and when will I know it's
finished um and I find that very hard to
do to to put a time limit on things and
to work out
um what what needs to be done next so
I'm looking at this now right so I've
got got flowers I've got stalks but now
I'm putting leaves on the
stalks and and I'm thinking do I need
leaves on the stalks I didn't intend to
do that when I started you see I have an
idea when I start but not a definite
plan so now I'm thinking what else does
it
need
H so I put a few leaves on that one
stalk and now I think I've got to put
leaves on all of the
stalks so it's it's going to be another
few days before it's
finished so yeah so this is this is why
my thoughts on this how how do you
switch off I I can't switch off I can't
do nothing I've got another friend and
she says you're always on the go and I'm
saying
yes I am always doing
something um she's up absolutely amazed
because I can't sit and do
nothing I mean it's like when I um eat a
meal I'm hungry now so I'm going to get
a meal but normally I sit at the
computer and read
something U I've gone off reading books
I don't read books now but um so doing
two jobs at the same thing I think they
call that
multitasking but but it just seems to me
a waste of time to just sit and
eat so I sit in front of a screen and
eat and um I can't do much on the
computer at the moment because there's a
video
uploading and that slows things down but
um but yes am I overthinking things I I
don't know if it's if it's possible to
overthink
things is it possible I don't know you
can sort of get your nias in a Twist if
you can't switch
off I can swap from one job to another I
could put this to one side and move on
like I'm looking out the window the
garden needs doing I need to mow the
lawn so I'm going to have to think about
that
uh within probably this
afternoon but is it is it is it
something that I should try and get over
or correct is is is I am I going about
it the wrong
way um you know well you know I'm on the
internet a lot and I read a lot but um
but that's important to me it's
important to keep my brain
ticking
over you know there isn't a when I do
this project there isn't a start or a
finish I'm just keep on
going keep on going there isn't there
isn't a clock off time there isn't a
clock on and a clock off time you know
it's like
constant um but then I I don't
feel bad or anything think I don't feel
ill I don't seem to get ill or sick or
anything and I I don't
worry you know uh uh my my emotions are
pretty stable you know they just sort of
float
along I don't let things get me
down um I can push things to one side
and forget about it and move on to
something
else so I'm thinking well maybe the
conclusion I have is maybe I am
overthinking but I'm not so sure that
that's a bad thing you know because it
just keeps the gray
matter going on round and round and
around um anyway I'll leave you with
that thought um do you switch off at any
time I I I must say though I sleep very
well um but I go to bed when I'm
actually physically
tired um yeah so I feel that my body
needs to lay down and go to
sleep um yeah I can switch off then I
can switch off at the end of the day but
not during the day not when I've got
things to do not when I want to do
things so anyway I leave that with you
my stomach is rumbling it's telling me I
must
eat bye for now thanks for popping in
