Outlines
😿 US servicemen killed in attack by Iranian proxies in Jordan; US pledges response
Three US service members were killed and over 30 injured in an attack by Iranian-backed militias on a US base in Jordan. This raises the risk of direct US-Iran conflict. President Biden pledged the US will respond. The attack also signals increasing aggression from Iran's proxies against US forces in the region.
😾 Escalating conflict forces US to weigh pros and cons of striking Iran
The US faces pressure to respond forcefully to deter further aggression from Iran and its proxies. However, direct strikes on Iran could escalate tensions. Regional observers believe some US response is inevitable. Israel also wants a strong US response to reestablish deterrence against Iran.
🛳 Attacks in Red Sea disrupt trade routes and benefit China
Houthi rebel attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea are forcing shipping companies to use longer routes, burning more fuel and increasing costs. This could lead to higher consumer prices. Chinese firms are capitalizing by transporting goods through the area unimpeded.

Transcripts
oh welcome to the 700 Club three US
service members killed more than 30
injured an attack by Iranian back
militia against the US base in Jordan is
raising the stakes in the Middle East
President Bush pledges the United States
will respond to the attack as Chris
Mitchell reports from Jerusalem the
escalation raises the risk of a direct
conflict between the United States and
Iran at an event in South Carolina
President Biden announced the US would
choose the time and place for its
response we shall
respond God bless you all the attack
also wounded at least 30 soldiers The
Base is located in Jordan near the
borders of Syria and Iraq it serves as a
special operation's base to fight Isis
Iranian back militias have attacked us
bases in Syria and Iraq more than 170
times since October 17th the American
deaths raised the stakes dramatically in
the region it's quite clear that um the
whole players in the region are actually
looking to to see what will be the
United States reaction to that some
Congressional leaders are calling on
Biden to impose crippling costs on the
regime including military strikes inside
Iran Israeli and US conflicts against
Iran proxies are spread throughout the
region including Hezbollah in Lebanon
the houis in Yemen who continue attack
shipping in and around the Red Sea and
Hamas in Gaza AI melamed is a former
Israeli intelligence official he says
the source address of all the conflicts
in the region is Iran this is the mola
regime inan we have today sample of the
disastrous vision and future that Waits
the Middle East and the world if the
Mula regime is not going to be
restrained forcefully also over the
weekend the us along with a number of
other countries suspended funding to
unra the New York Times reported Israel
presented evidence that onra employees
participated in the October 7th attacks
which killed more than 12200 Israelis
the White House said the suspension of
Aid might be a first step we'll
certainly consider additional you know
what depending on the investigation
whether that requires any additional uh
changes in the way we support under
going forward the UN says it's inves
ating the charges but critics of unra
said it's been part of the problem not
the solution for a long time IDI Schwarz
is the co-author of the war of return I
just want to remind you that cases of
people working for unra and at the same
time uh working for terrorist
organization has begun in the 60s
meanwhile negotiations continue to
release the more than 100 hostages in
Hamas captivity Israel said talks have
been constructive but there are still
significant gaps
the deal would include a pause in the
fighting in exchange for the release of
some or all of the
hostages well Chris misal joins us now
more with more from Jerusalem uh it's
obvious that I I don't think anybody but
everyone I talk to in the US doesn't
want to escalate this into a war but it
seems like Biden may be forced to what
what are the pros and cons of directly
striking
Iran well Gordon right now the region is
really waiting to see how the us is
going to react uh because of Sunday's
attack and and the 170 attacks on the US
bases since mid October uh many m east
Believers observers here believe that
the us is going to respond forcefully
one of the cons is uh is that it would
escalate the situation uh Gordon uh you
know on the other hand one of the uh um
things you have to regard is that if the
US doesn't respond forcefully it's going
to make the us perceived as weak as more
than it is right now so you have to
weigh both the pros and the cons here
the uh Joint Chiefs of uh staff is
saying that he doesn't want to escalate
the situation it might not be possible
to deescalate the situation now because
Iran keeps pressing the envelope uh not
only in the Iranian back uh militias in
Syria and Iraq but also the htis so it
looks like right now the whole region
could be on a nice Edge and see what's
going to how the us is going to react
well just you a lot of international law
has been quoted recently so just under
international law what the hoodies are
doing firing missiles at International
Shipping is an act of war and and under
international law there there needs to
be a response to that what Iran is doing
through its proxies to attack US troops
and Iraq Iraq and now in Jordan uh Syria
it it those are acts of war and and so
if we don't respond
appropriately uh I can't I can't help
but think that the entire region the
entire world will think that we're weak
and it will embolden all kinds of
actions uh not just in the Middle East
uh what What's the Israel government
saying about uh the American
response well they're waiting I think uh
for the kind of response we're going to
get right now from the us whether it's
they said the President Biden said it's
going to be a time of their choosing and
and the way they're going to respond but
I think Israel would would feel like uh
the US really has to step forward and
have a strong response in order to have
some deterrence against Iran and its
proxies and if it doesn't it seems like
these attacks by the hoties by the
Iranian back militias in Syria and Iraq
by Hezbollah they will just keep
increasing until the US really does
respond uh I've been reading recently
about how president uh Reagan back in
the 80s responded to Libya and uh and
tried and deter them so we'll just see
what the US does but right now the US is
perceived as fairly weak in the region
and uh it's really a crossroads right
now to see how the administration is
going to respond well let's talk about
unra and and umra paying salaries to
terrorists uh you've been reporting on
this for years uh and it looks like the
world is finally waking up to it uh but
this is even more extreme there's a
report that um workers were actually the
terrorists taking part of the in the
October 7th attack uh what is that doing
to World opinion what what do you think
the future of unra
is well we'll see Gordon you know in
fact ID Schwarz the expert that we
talked to in our report he was saying
that un employees were actually
implicated in the 60s 7s and 80s and
Beyond uh terrorist members from the PLO
that was then today it's Hamas and it's
estimated about 10% of own employees are
affiliated with Terror groups whether
Hamas or Islamic Jihad and 12 implicated
in October 7th to the murder of Jews you
know the original mandate began in 1949
it was supposed to last 18 months it's
lasted 75 years and onra has a different
definition of any the UN agency so
instead of shrinking the refugees they
now have grown from 200,000 to about 6
million and critics say it really just
perpetuates the Israeli Palestinian
conflict because what they're teaching
and we've reported on this for many
years that this generation generation
after generation the goal is to undo the
state of Israel to kill Jews we have you
know children on on camera saying that
just outright and it's really the
embodiment of the chanting from the
river to the sea that we hear in uh in
rallies all over the world many say it's
time to stop the funding and dismantle
unra well I I've been saying it for a
long time and and I think it's it's
about time that people in the state
department start saying it I I I just
can't imagine that the US intelligence
services and the US state department
didn't know it uh it just it makes me
wonder why in the world would you
continue sending US taxpayer dollars uh
to fund it it it makes no sense uh is is
there some kind of double standard
here oh definitely I think uh you know
more than 300 million in US tax uh money
is going to un just this year billions
over the number of years and uh there
does seem to be some sort of a double
standard and there have been many
including yourself uh and I there's been
members of the knesset David Bine is one
of the people here in the land who's
been The Voice crying on the Wilderness
for many years that uh what actually is
doing and if you just listen to the the
children especially talking about their
goal is to go back to Tel Aviv go back
to hia we want to take over all of
Israel and we want to kill the Jews and
uh and that is what's been perpetuating
the Israeli Palestinian conflict and not
solving it well Chris thanks for your
Insight uh and thanks for all you're
doing to report on what's happening in
Israel today for you at home make sure
you let your Congress and your Senator
know how you feel about this that our
tax dollar is going to fund terrorism
where there's now proof that uh unra
employees weren't just educating weren't
just participating weren't just on Hamas
uh payroll in addition to unra payroll
but they actually participated in the
attack uh this has to stop uh unra needs
to go away uh and never come back and
you're going to hear back repeat
repeatedly in the news going forward uh
about some humanitarian crisis all of
that well if Gaza had paid attention to
their own people if they instead of
building tunnels and uh weapons
facilities and the ability to launch
rockets at Israel they would have had
plenty of money to take care of their
own people uh the humanitarian crisis in
Gaza is completely the fault of Hamas
well Iran's proxy war against Israel in
the US is also affecting World Trade
attacks on commercial ships in the Red
Sea are forcing them to alter roots and
that delay could lead to higher prices
cbn's Brody Carter talked to experts in
the field on what it all means for the
global
economy the port of Virginia is vital to
international trade but sources here
tell me that these incoming shipments
are slowing down that's because Terror
attacks in the Red Sea are forcing ships
to go to the West Coast ultimately
increasing those premiums and insurance
rates this comes out of your pocket but
the even bigger problem is the potential
for a broader conflict that's because
houthi Rebels have been firing on
Commercial vessels on the Red Sea since
November forcing shipping companies to
navigate multiple challenges so imagine
a shipment going from say Singapore to
uh Western Europe uh now they have to
travel thousands of miles more burning
more fuel which is of course not great
for the environment
but beyond that they also have to pay
higher uh taxes rather higher fuel
prices while companies like MK and
others take longer routs to help tankers
avoid the Red Sea Haag Lloyd is offering
ground transportation through Sai Arabia
which still can allow customers to use
the Suez Canal
shortcut we're also seeing this
disruption create tensions between world
powers since the attackers Target ships
from the US and other Israel allies
Chinese companies have been able to
capitalize on the situation obviously
the houthis are targeting uh ships that
are linked to the US the UK and Israel
uh and they're T and they're not
necessarily targeting ships that are
linked to China now there's also very
good reporting mostly out of Bloomberg
that indicates that as uh Chinese ships
are making the uh uh The Passage through
the Red Sea they're doing a lot to
Signal or indicate that they're Chinese
ships and they're not holding any sort
of Western Cargo or link to other
Western company uh and so far the
houthis have not really attacked ships
that have been uh sort of based out of
China and so there's some opportunistic
Chinese shipping companies that are
actually sending their cargo vessels
over to the Red Sea to try to pick up
some of that uh excess demand at a
higher price UCLA Professor Chris Tang
says the US Le Coalition which began
deploying Navy ships and aircraft to the
region in mid December is costing us
taxpayers too much right now the US has
the uh the aircraft carrier and
patrolling the Red Sea and along with
the uh the British uh military as well
uh they try to keep the ship safe but
it's not sustainable for each ground to
air missiles to attacks one of those
drones it costs over $1
million but the drones and the missiles
make by the hoties back by Iran may be
around $50,000 so therefore
you cannot continue to shoting all these
million dollars missiles if the Red Sea
crisis continues these coming days weeks
and months will be crucial in
determining how these trade routes
evolve and the world adapts to these
changing tides reporting from the port
of Virginia Brody Carter CBN News well
these are Incredible Days please pray
for President Biden please pray for
everyone in the administration the
pressure on them is enormous and and are
they worried about an election cycle I
think the answer is quite clearly yes
they are and they're trying to make sure
that everything in the economy is going
smooth all the way to November uh but in
all of this uh where do we stand on the
world stage and what messages are we
sending to the world uh what's happening
out of North Korea has North Korea
experts saying the this is the most
dangerous time in all their Decades of
studying North Korea that North Korea
could actually launch an attack against
South Korea you look at China and are
are they going to actually take Taiwan
are they going to go to war uh for that
in the face of American weakness I think
you're going to see that kind of
activity being emboldened to say okay uh
if America's going to take a step off
the world stage where we're going to
step step up for our own National goals
they need wisdom and they need it now
like never before so please pray for our
president
