size discrepancy the are you got you got
out are oh you did eat those I ate one
boy I'm a good boy he says do it I said
all
right and then his work doesn't get
edited and he's said what happened it'll
be cre I got a few here so you too ate
him I didn't okay okay that's not how he
R okay I just pretended I did yeah
that's not how he
r i don't fall for it that one for you
PJ I don't fall for it
[Music]
and it seemed like a really cool
training session you had today I mean it
was a diverse group of people it looked
like there was MMA fighters wrestlers
can you tell me a bit about the room
today and like how you run it it seemed
very playful very for sure so I try and
get the most workload out of the group
without it being dangerous so it's a
fine line I have to ride as far as like
building into that so a lot of the
drills and the warm-ups are more um
static where you do one I do one you do
one and it builds into this thing where
resistance is built in so you can get
more authentic looks rather than like
easy takedowns easy Integrations into
submissions or transitions so kind of
Building Systems within that and some
would call it like the ecological
approach but I think you have to know
some skills and know some very quick
twitch movements that are built in from
your 10,000 hour hours to recall on that
within these positions so swing moves
too you know so it kind of takes from
both those Logics and understanding like
form versus void and having a lot of
form and then how to integrate that and
you figured out that probably works best
for the diverse skill sets for people
coming in and I guess it's just
obviously avoiding injuries and then
just making sure people get the rep is
that really the well right now we're
about a month out from the two
competitions cji and ADC in the room is
kind of has both athletes so um no
matter the rule set we're going take
that and we're how does that integrate
into transitions to the ground with
control and submission so you know
catering to that person right now and
since it's that time frame out it should
be kind of the hardest goes they do hard
goes a lot of times people get hurt yeah
so how do you structure that in a way
where it keeps it safe playful where at
someone's turn but you're still
defending so it's like this give and
take rather than just give where you're
whole people are trying to kill each
other so like we don't do a lot of live
where it's structured in a way where
you're going to work hard or not doing
live so it's kind of a smarter approach
for the longevity as well as training
for an
event welcome back to San Diego trining
hard looking
hard what's what's on the agenda for
today uh film some of J flow's Closs
we're going to film PJ wrestling only
show when he gets taken down that's
about it pretty much
we'll catch him with Max here Adam
Bradley all of the cji Legends are here
and PJ
BOS
i instead of push pull stay on our feet
we're just going to do a sweep single so
we have a inside tie or elbow tie from
the leg we want to shoot with I step
away from it I give it my rotate to
being parallel side to him not in front
of him so a common mistake is kind of
just dropping down underneath someone
and then feeling the brunt of his sprawl
or head grab so here it's here all the
way around so we have that angle we
could wrestle up shelf and be ready for
our sweep or be able to if he
sprs we're around that angle towards the
back rather than having to chase it
underneath right so
common most important part TR leg is out
here not tra leg here so swivel those
hips rotate on that knee all right 10
each on three 1
2 Adam what's your weight
215 actually 217 this
morning I don't know what I'll
like when was the last time you weigh
yourself oh actually I weigh myself the
other day for a medical
[Music]
have my medical results let me
check 207.49
[Music]
ja how about you get been training for a
month and then come to me well I'm going
to put in my bio first purple belt do
all the things and then come to me
instead of saying all the first I'm
going to get purple belt in my bio under
J flow then show me show me show me will
you the bio when we're
done he goes actually where's my phone
on right
now it's hard to find a mauno made in
Japan
you want to get a Japanese Muno instead
of like the American what do you mean I
want to get the real one just get
it off the
rack it's so it's like much to do about
nothing yeah yeah thing has to be
perfect I got to get the right thing
that is me just cut to the Chek all
right all right what the same way you
are with the purple bell you know yeah I
was looking at
belts thises and oh yeah you know makes
yeah
man I'm a judo Purple belt in case you
guys don't know it's
official and jjon black belt with his
hands all right bre bring it in cut that
one like if I'm with Max Max's turn I'm
not just like falling down for every
attempt he does or standing still I want
to actively defend and even re angle for
possible re attacks but it's his turn so
when it's Max's turn my hand should be
on as a partner snapping serve the Ling
making it more of a game fighting for
the little things until Max has to get
some offense going right and that's that
happens now I have to work my way out
and it's my turn but it's not all my way
okay so keep it playful enjoy uh the
process don't like live in the red zone
as far as your
output look for setting traps too okay
so Hand fight Pummel use your feet trips
diversify maybe would be the time okay
we'll go off the uh queue get your
partner on three 1 2 three how you made
30
seconds scroll Circle spiral keep the
back when you get the back hold for
control win it
here yes he rolled the wrong way it's
okay you got to feel that
Victor 5 4 3 two time
person on
[Music]
top
[Music]
ready Out Underneath look to circle look
to cut back to have some offense ready
[Music]
a just like pulling him on top of it
well
maybe see see trying to get to my
reverse guard
10
seconds stay offensive don't just
[Music]
linger oh I'm so close to scoring now
I'm excited to see how they play out I'm
hoping not too many stolen CLS happen
just cuz like I mean if anyone's backing
up they could run into it angled wall
should be to their disadvantage so I'm
hoping that people realize that like
backing Up's going cost you know St like
penalty but to disadvantage yeah I'm
hoping in a huge way we can't just
resets out yeah yeah yeah I'm interested
to see that question is more on charina
yeah yeah exactly right the
reset I think that be pretty rare to
reset a position yeah yeah that have to
be have be pretty bad
yeah that's where the rounds are
interesting cuz like let's say you're on
someone's back and then the round resp
now you're not on someone's back anymore
this is like exciting but yeah I can see
purist being like Oh put them back yeah
I like the winning the last round yeah
like is pfl the exact opposite of that
don't they give you more points if or
like in the tournament if you win in the
first round versus the second round of
the third now that's just like theend
the opposite of like what I would think
logically but yeah cuz if if it's like
if you're winning the end you would have
likely won so like I think the end is
most
important someone's going to complain
for sure
but yeah in the minus 80 there's really
nothing to worry about nothing wor about
with the Ros with tet verela no like all
those guys even n like been watching his
progression and just Jiu-Jitsu and
training a little bit online that's good
he has some subs I think he's not I mean
he's the best wrestler there is I mean
basically other than one other guy so
yeah be interesting how his style
correlates with the rules too if anyone
stands up with him that'll be funny yeah
yeah
yeah but there's like you know some
tacticians that could counter and use it
for their own maid's pretty tricky
sometimes you could find something off
of No
Control be interested to see see those
play out no feels physically a lot
stronger than most of those minus 80
guys are train got rest
yeah so fast as well I don't know who
wins see three FES though I mean how
fast they'll be you know just based on
that there's like no duration no rule
set of wrestling that is a matches that
long and Judo it can be but yeah J go 20
minutes
[Music]
do better
Pig
[Music]
right 10
seconds fight for the finish
here it out person
[Music]
going for that love handle real quick
maybe too quick he's too tired over nice
gry follow that good keep
going
sh don't worry about
it oh [ __ ] that might be too
four three
two
time
what got my bra oh he's still
puking this is
I was
watch he started gagging right in the
middle of our round I was like trash I
was you on before right everyone knows I
feel like
I I thought you
were you hav't live till I was just
looking
for say no
yeah PA this I'll do a battery change
sure sure sure but thanks so much of
course interesting so interesting how
like uh like I feel like what I'm doing
in video and stuff it's these guys like
it's a comination of some of stuff I've
done before it just makes sense now and
I feel like what you're doing you're
learning and evolving and you're
becoming more aware of other things and
it works your way into your ideology
your system of what who you are and it
feels like a bit like what's happening
with you with this as well and it feels
like a lot of people here yeah and I
yeah like I said I mean I don't want it
to just be about the money it's what
sold me I you can't buy me but it's
going to every promotion going have to
do something you can't just like take
advantage the athletes are paying $400
to compete you know like again closer
flight Noel and all that and like people
were I mean they couldn't even say
anything they got penalized for saying
anything yeah crazy yeah it's almost
like totalitarian Ty when there's only
one game in town that's what happens
yeah yeah totally totally it's Monopoly
now I guess it' be an oligopoly but
there's no like communication between
the two that make it kind of interr I
mean there may be now I mean it's not
like people but outside of mod just like
what gre's doing everyone sees it
probably it's for the
best yeah exactly I mean this is
exciting few years for jitu in general
totally totally yeah I've been training
for like 8 n years but I'm like more
passionate about film making then I do
both in a purple B like a couple years
and then like for me it's interesting
even when I start which is not that long
you can see the growth I can only
imagine if the guy been doing it like 10
20 years crazy see like from the
basements to Forefront you know yeah
it's so nuts it's exciting I'm hoping it
can bring a lot of new audiences for
tournament sure I mean with the karate
combat promotion as far as like that
level at the Thomas and Mac I think it's
hard to miss I think it's going to be
spectacle in a good way and I think
people that are have the right energy to
put on show like I reckon Craig's done
more for ktic combat marketing than any
combat marketing he flying triangles all
yeah yeah know he's the Highlight Reel
yeah so I reog off the uh slope yeah I
think like hallay gatei last 10 seconds
yeah yeah yeah yeah that's the mentality
people should have or an older one would
be like the Benson Henderson versus
Pettis KCK right oh man yeah the
showtime kick all right where we where
would we do like that has been seen
that's in the mind of every human that
even thought about fighting you know
yeah it's like and that was on humy
highlight reels and that was in the
opening of UFC that was everywhere every
time they do that like before the main
card starts they do like the three
minute and that wasn't even a finish
right no no but it ended the round kind
of yeah yeah yeah
that's I'd rather look cool than
finish in my priority list of things
yeah where will we will we be doing the
call out wherever I think Miha said we
could even set up up there cuz he's on
right Miha what did you want to set up
up there or wherever I set it up there
cuz I have this thing air should we go
up there okay cool
