einer stadt zeigt aber der neue
innsbrucker bahnhof ist dem besuch wert
ich denke da werden sie mit zustimmen

als man anfang der 50er jahre den
bahnhof nach dem zweiten weltkrieg
wieder aufbaute da war das ein einfaches
viel kleineres gebäude als heute nicht
die helle und lange halle in der wir
jetzt stehen und von diesem alten
bahnhof gibt es nichts mehr außer diesen
beiden großen bildern gemalt hat sie max
weiler in den jahren
1954 und 55
dieses bild hier heißt innsbrucks
gegenwart die gegenwart von 1955 also
max weiler hat die für ihn wichtigen
eindrücke in hellen farben gemalt leute
in der freizeit an einem see und in den
bergen eine friedliche szene in der
natur
diese gegenwart war eben der neubeginn
nach den schrecken des zweiten
weltkrieges und der nazi diktatur
und er hat auch die zwei wichtigsten
elemente der stadt dazu gegeben für die
innsbruck bekannt ist die universität
und einen skifahrer also bildung und
tourismus
und wenn sie zum skifahrer blicken da
sehen sie dass große füllhorn das glück
über die stadt bringen soll das war sein

das ergebnis von einem projekt da geht
es nicht nur um kunst
vossenack wild ist 1993 entstanden da
war schon zwei jahre lang krieg in
bosnien viele leute mussten fliehen in
einem flüchtlingsheim in vorarlberg
waren die tage lang und die sorgen der
flüchtlinge groß und es hat nur wenig
beschäftigung für sie gegeben
und dann hat die malerin lucia lienhard
giesinger begonnen mit bosnischen frauen
dort quilts herzustellen sie hat die
muster entworfen und die frauen haben
das aus stoff genäht und mit ihren
nähten noch muster dazu gegeben die
arbeit an den queens hat den frauen
geholfen dass sie auch mal an etwas
anderes denken konnten dass sie kurz
nicht an ihre sorgen denken mussten
1998 übersiedelte dann die werkstatt für
bosna queens nach bosnien in die stadt
gorazde an der drina mit ihrer
künstlerischen arbeit verdienen zwölf
frauen auch heute noch das einkommen für
ihre familien und
wie kommt der quilt in euer büro eine
kollegin hatte eine ausstellung der
queens gesehen und uns bilder gezeigt
und davon erzählt und wir alle haben das
gut gefunden
so haben wir mit dem chef geredet und

der chef fand die idee prima und hat

hallo und guten abend zum sonntags talk
wir freuen uns dass der regisseur arne
birkenstock heute unser gast ist hallo
darf ich sie zuerst mal fragen wie sind
sie denn auf die idee gekommen regisseur
zu werden das war ein zufall
ich wollte eigentlich schon alles für
eine zeitung werden deshalb habe ich
auch mit dem schreiben begonnen daneben
habe ich immer viel musik gemacht sich
spiele akkordeon und irgendwann nach
einem konzert hat mich der
kulturredakteur eines großen
fernsehsenders angesprochen das war also
der anfang in der szene branche genau
bei ihm habe ich meine ersten schritte
gemacht mit zwei minuten filmchen so
fing das an und dabei habe ich dann
gemerkt dass film nicht nur mit bildern
und mit sprache sondern auch ganz viel
mit rhythmus und groove zu tun hat das
hat mir gut gefallen im dokumentarfilm
kommt dann noch etwas wichtiges hinzu
nämlich der enge und intensive kontakt
mit ganz besonderen menschen
was für eine ausbildung haben sie denn
ich war ein kleiner film akademie oder
filmschule ich habe
regionalwissenschaften lateinamerika an
der uni in köln studiert das ist eine
ganz interessante mischung aus politik
geschichte volkswirtschaft und
spanischer sprache und literatur
außerdem habe ich während des studiums
viel musik gemacht und auch schon bei
zeitungs- und fernsehredaktionen gejobbt
was ist das schöne an ihrem beruf also
was gefällt ihnen besonders gut darin
verschiedene dinge ich finde es
besonders faszinierend dass ich immer
wieder in fremde lebenswelten von
menschen eintauchen kann sich sonstwie
kennengelernt hätte das ist und bleibt
das spannendste
außerdem beschäftigt man sich als
dokumentarfilmer sehr intensiv und lange
mit einem thema das schätze ich sehr
dann habe ich großartige kollegen von
kamera ton und schnitt mit denen die
zusammenarbeit viel spaß macht naja und
zuletzt ist es natürlich auch immer
wieder befriedigend und ganz schön für
das ego wenn man auf premieren und
festivals geht und vielleicht sogar
preise bekommt das klingt alles spannend
und interessant aber sicher gibt es auch
schattenseiten was ist denn das
schwierige an ihrer arbeit am
schwierigsten ist die ewige sorge um das
liebe geld und das ständige risiko als
familienvater bereitet einem dass viel
zu viele schlaflose nächte aber auch das
schlimme machen wenn es schwierig und
schmerzhaft sein es läuft eben nicht
einfach einen guten film zu machen und
der weg dahin ist niemals direkt die
umwege gehören dazu und machen am ende
den film wahrscheinlich besser aber
einfach 5
sie behandeln ja in ihren filmen sehr
unterschiedliche themen wie finden sie
denn die themen zu ihren filmen das ist
ganz unterschiedlich
manchmal hat man ein thema und suchte
die geschichte dazu manchmal bekommt man
die geschichte und baut in filmen darum
themen gibt es viele am wichtigsten ist
jedoch man muss ein thema sehr lieben
beziehungsweise sehr fasziniert davon
seien und man muss dazu bereit sein ein
zwei drei vier oder fünf jahre dafür zu
kämpfen ohne müde oder unmotiviert zu
werden dann komme ich gleich zu meiner
nächsten frage wie lange dauert es
normalerweise vom ersten drehtag bis zur
ersten filmvorführung wenn es schnell
geht einem jahr
normal sind vermutlich etwa zwei jahre
wenn es lange dauert ewig
dokumentarfilme kann man nur schwer
planen beim tango schirm fehlt uns das
geld beim elefanten schön kann uns einen
bürgerkrieg dazwischen sound auf heimat
war dramaturgisch schwierig beim film
über den kunstfälscher gab es allerlei
juristische probleme zu klären sie sehen
so pauschal kann man das nicht
beantworten
und von der idee bis zur premiere sind
die zeitläufe noch viel länger da können
leicht vier fünf sechs oder mehr jahre
vergehen in ihrem film sound of heimat
geht es um die deutsche volksmusik heute
wie kommt es eigentlich zu diesem
deutsch englischen titel das hat mehrere
gründe zum einen ist unser protagonist
neuseeländer seine muttersprache ist
englisch
zweitens gibt es keine englische
übersetzung so das wort heimat und
drittens gab es schon einmal einen sehr
schönen schweizerischen dokumentarfilm
mit dem titel heimat klänge dem titel
konnten wir alles schlecht nehmen
außerdem würde der titel klarmachen es
geht zwar um volksmusik im weiteren
sinne nicht aber unbedingt um alte oder
konservativer musik das bringt der titel
sound auf heimat besser zum ausdruck als
ein drittel wie klang der heimat auf
deutsch klingt das doch ein wenig
spießig man assoziiert das mit ganz
bestimmten der konservativen
versendungen
zum schluss noch eine schwierige frage
welchen ihrer filme mögen sie selbst am
liebsten
allgäu wie sie sich denken können liegt
mir jeder meiner filme am herzen jeder
dieser firma hatte seine ganz eigenen
schwierigkeiten und freuden jeder dieser
film hat mir ein stück welt auch eine
ganz besondere weise geöffnet jeder
dieser stimme bedeutet für mich eine
einmalige und wichtige lebenserfahrung
