[Music]
hey everyone welcome to my wonderful
University notion tour that I've been
using for my time in dental school you
can call me K notebook I'm a third-year
dental med student this notion page is
where I track all my subjects my
assignments my quizzes my dates my exams
my to-do list my revision this page has
been through a lot of trial and error
and after some time of modifying and
coding we arrived at this compared to
the previous one I would say this one is
an improved version because this one has
automations anyway let's not waste any
time as I waste more time telling you
guys that I won waste
[Music]
anymore so before we go on the tour I
just want to talk about how I sort of
made my notion template in the first
place I wanted to avoid adding
unnecessary stuff like pictures or
videos or third part extensions that
don't really add much to the template I
just want to keep it clean and
everything to be functional so
everything you see in this template is
pretty much functional and it has a use
so yeah I feel like not adding
unnecessary Aesthetics is a big
graduation for me from 2 years ago so
yeah yeah I don't want to look back to
my old self but anyway moving on with
the tour all right so let's start with
the main page which is the first thing I
see and the first thing you'll see is
this Banner showing this wonderful chair
that costs more than my entire room if
you guys don't know this is a dental
clinic I saw online and I wanted to put
it here just so that I could be sort of
motivated in my studies since I do want
to open the clinic in the future yeah
that will probably be one of my main
sources of income I don't know why I'm
telling you this that's move on with the
tour so yeah manifesting for that moving
on to the left we have is my course
title so I just thought you know it
added personality to my non-existent
personality then moving down we have is
my notification center now this is a
little coding that I've done that tells
me how many assignments I have du as
well as a revision tracker which I will
describe more in detail later moving
down we have are my important reminders
now I keep all my reminders here since I
have a memory of a goldfish and I keep
forgetting where my classroom is most of
the time I'm not joking I was almost
late to my oral histology exam which was
one of the main important major subjects
in my second year of Dentistry if I
missed that exam I would have been
for this notification I'm also a
part of the documentations team for my
department and we do have a tracker for
all our assignments courtesy of me all
organized in Google Sheets so I have
this reminder to remind me that you know
I have to check it every day all right
moving on to the next part of the notion
template is where I put all of my
important database starting with my
Dentistry subjects now this is where I
keep all my subjects that I'll be taking
in my Dentistry course all organized in
different years and semesters this
database is sort of the lifeblood of
this notion page as this is pretty much
where I'll link all my assignments
quizzes exams and where I put my notes
if this ends up being gone my life is
done for I'm just kidding I always have
backup each subject is an individual
page that you can open and this is where
I store all my notes with each subject
now although I don't use notes as a way
to study I just keep all my notes here
so that it's all organized and you know
if I have to access them or if I have to
access a certain piece of information I
just have to go here and do just check
my notes notion if you're watching this
please add my maps I swear to God it'll
be the best thing you can ever do to
this app now what's cool about this
subject database 2 is that I also coded
something cool which I call the revision
tracker basically I coded a revision
tracker for all my subjects for me to
track my Mastery on them so the way it
works is that every time I revise a
subject for example oral histology or
health ethics I update the date over
here as well as the Mastery with the
subject in return this over here shows
me how many days since I revised my
subject which is pretty cool this is
pretty much very simple code but this
visual just really helps a lot this is
so that every time I notice that it's
been a while since I revised a certain
subject I go ahead and I revise it this
tracker is really useful in that regard
next we have is my deadline tracker and
this is quite possibly the second most
important database if not the most
important in this notion page basically
this is where I track all my
deadlines yeah I wonder why this page is
called deadline track here we have the
calendar view which shows all my
deadlines in a calendar view as well as
the unfinished view it shows my
unfinished assignments and total view so
as you can see here each page is an
individual assignment deadline quiz or
exam date or just an important date you
can open each of them and it'll be a
blank page for you to put your
assignment here so if you want
everything to be all in one database
this is it now going through each
property we have the check mark which
just shows me if the assignment is done
or not the date and time of the deadline
the course which is actually linked to
my subject database so all the subject
options are here and reflected from the
subjects I put in my subject database
the name of the deadline the type of
deadline I have six types important Date
Presentation quiz exam assignment and
group work now take note of this because
this will will be important later the
next we have is days left formula this
is just a little code I wrote for myself
that tells me how many days I have left
for a certain deadline which is pretty
cool the progress of the assignment this
is where I track the progress of my
assignment and what's cool about this is
that if I hit submitted the check mark
will be automatically checked so you can
also set this as a date if you want it
to be a date deadline as well notes this
is just where I put short memos about my
assignment and finally if I want to
include the file of the assignment here
I can upload them here directly to this
property now since my class is right now
uses Google Classroom I didn't find the
need to upload my assignments here all
right moving on we have is my contacts
page now for privacy reasons I blurred
this out because obviously I don't want
you guys talking my professors that's
just freaking weird this is where I keep
all the contact information for my
professors and such so for example their
emails consultation times their numbers
and Etc and this database is linked to
my subjects so I could assign different
professors to different subjects in my
database which is pretty cool very
useful for networking next we have is a
blank page and miscellaneous page this
is where I put all of my miscellaneous
or temporary things
here yeah yeah that's pretty much it for
both Pages moving on we have is my study
guide page just to keep it short I kept
all the different study techniques that
I've learned until now into this page in
case I forget because like I said I have
a memory of a goldfish so stuff like fan
technique mind mapping and all that's
all here in this page under we have is
my dental lure exam now it's really
early but I just set this page for my
future Dental licensure exam so I can
prepare for it early and finally we have
my Dental skills page this is a sort of
work in progress page where I would
track my dental skills if you guys
aren't familiar I would say Dentistry is
sort of a mix of medical school in
engineering while you do study the
medical part of teeth you also kind of
have to have good hand coordination and
dexterity in order to perform you know
operations now as of now I only did wax
carving but in future I'm sure we'll do
more stuff like you know injecting
anesthesia to my classmates which I'm
very excited for all right moving on to
the right side of my tracker we have my
goal section now this is mainly to
disappoint me in the end when I don't
reach my goal I'm just kidding I'm
already disappointed in myself jokes
aside I do want to keep my semester's
goals here it's just a nice view to have
and to remind me of what I'm striving
for next we have is my priority Tab and
this is where I keep all my daily
priorities there's this little button
here that when I click it it will add a
new check mark in my priority tab I
usually put stuff like study oral
histology or study for a certain quiz
this is sort of like the main priority
task for the day so once I'm done
completing it it would mean that my
day's goal has been completed now just
below it is my to-do tracker this is my
to-do list and just like a priority
tracker there's a button here that
allows me to add a to-do now this is
where I keep most of my more simple and
unimportant tasks you know stuff like
organize my notes or mind maps or revise
Health ethics when I'm free moving on to
the center of the show this is the view
for my deadline tracker page now it's
set to the calendar view at default
however I also have a list of Unfinished
deadlines I find that just having this
in the center is a good way to sort of
visualize how much work I have for the
rest of the week or for the month now
what's cool about this is that it's
linked to my notification center and
basically my notification center tells
me how many assignments I have left du I
made this little automation such that
let's say instead of four assignments
let's say I have two assignments instead
and two dates now if you notice if I
change the assignment type to either an
exam or quiz then the notification
center will recognize this and then
voila it will show me the correct number
of assignments duw yeah I'm I'm kind of
proud of this one one more thing I also
coted is over here this shows me what
subject I haven't revised in a long time
so basically it will check all the
subjects I have in my database and show
me which one I haven't revised in a long
time this is a good way to show me what
subjects I've been neglecting so yeah
it's pretty convenient for me and
finally on the bottom shows a quick view
of my subjects now it shows me based on
the year and semester I am in all
organized like that so I just have to
pick my year and semester and it will
show me the subjects I'm taking in that
particular timeline so yeah that's
pretty much it I hope you guys enjoyed
this video and I hope you found it
useful I've been using it for my denry
classes and it's been wonders I will
leave a link below to the template in
the description but anyway University is
coming soon I better start preparing
I'll see you guys in the next video
don't forget to drink your water
bye-bye I can't help it I can't help it
baby
