Q & A
Outlines

Highlights
Used Sony 20 and 35 millimeter F 1.8 prime lenses for the majority of shots, which were manually focused and shot on a tripod, as well as some handheld shots.
Turned off the picture profile entirely, but tweaked a few settings in the creative style settings, including choosing portrait over standard, reducing contrast to -3, saturation to -1, and sharpness to -5.
Did not color grade the video in any way, with everything being straight out of the camera.
Added a tiny bit of contrast using Curves in Final Cut Pro because the image was sometimes too flat.
Exposed the majority of shots using either shutter speed or aperture, with ISO set to 100 for all of them.
For landscape shots, set the aperture to around F7.1 to F9 and used a slow shutter speed.
To isolate the subject, set the aperture to F1.8 to F4 with a fast shutter speed.
Used zebras and multimetering to achieve proper exposure, exposing mostly for highlights.
Set zebras to 95 to preserve as many highlights as possible and never went below -1 on the multimetering.
When shooting directly in the sun, only used the multimetering and put it between 0.0 and plus 0.3.
Used the screen on the Sony ZV-E10 to make sure everything looked right.
Set the white balance to 5500 Kelvin to 6500 Kelvin, but around 6200 Kelvin for sunrise and sunset shots.
Shifted the color slider towards green as the Sony ZV-E10 tends to lean towards magenta.
Summarized that the Sony ZV-E10 produces excellent results without using a picture profile, overexposing S-Log 2, or color grading, but mastering exposure, white balance, and composition is essential.
Will continue to shoot in S-Log 2 due to its wider dynamic range, but may turn off the picture profile for some quick shoots.

and Sony 20 and 35 millimeter F 1.8
prime lenses the majority of the shots
were manually focused and shot on a
tripod but some were shot and held in
terms of camera settings I turned off
the picture profile entirely but I did
tweak a few things in the creative style
settings first I chose portrait rather
than standard because it's often the
image which I prefer then I reduce the
contrast to minus 3 the saturation to -1
and the sharpness to -5 I just don't
like the digital look it creates when
you set everything to zero especially
the sharpness however you are free to
play with these settings in any way you
like in terms of color grading I did not
color grade this video in any way
everything you saw is straight out of
camera I did however add a tiny bit of
contrast using Curves in Final Cut Pro
because the image was sometimes too flat
finally the most important aspect
exposure I exposed the majority of the
shots using either shutters speed or
aperture and the iso was set to 100 for
all of them so if it was a landscape
shot I would set my aperture to around F
7.1 to F9 and use a slow shutter speed
and when I wanted to isolate the subject
in any way I'd set the aperture to F 1.8
to F4 with a fast shutter speed I use
zebras and multimetering to achieve
proper exposure in the shot because I
was mostly exposing for highlights I set
my zebras to 95 to preserve as many of
them as possible and I never went below
-1 on the multimetering however if I was
shooting directly in the sun I would
only use the multimetering I'd put it
between 0.0 and plus 0.3 and also I
would use my screen on the zve E10 to
make sure everything looks right
depending on the shot I set the white
balance to 5500 Kelvin to 6500 Kelvin
however because I showed this video
mostly at sunrise and sunset the white
balance was mostly around 62 100 Kelvin
in addition I shifted the color slider
towards green as the zve10 tends to lean
towards magenta to summarize the Sony
zve10 produces excellent results without
using any picture profile overexposing
s-log 2 or color grading however you
must Master exposure white balance and
composition these are the fundamentals
and if you get them right you can make
any camera look great for the most part
I'll continue to shoot in s-lock 2
because it has a wider dynamic range but
for some quick shoots I might turn off
the picture profile entirely thank you
for watching and if you have any
questions or comments about the Sony
zv10 let me know down below and I guess
I'll see you in the next one
peace
