These are BETTER than TREASURE ISLANDS

play00:00

Treasure Islands have become a staple for

play00:02

Animal Crossing players.

play00:03

They're one of the easiest ways you can

play00:05

gather items quickly for

play00:06

any build that you have

play00:07

in mind, but despite how amazing they

play00:10

are, they can sometimes

play00:11

be really frustrating to use.

play00:13

If you found yourself getting stuck in

play00:15

long loading screens or

play00:16

have lost one too many

play00:17

pocketfuls of items from a Treasure

play00:19

Island crashing, you may

play00:20

be looking for an easier

play00:21

way to get what you need for your island.

play00:24

But what are these easier

play00:25

methods and how do you use them?

play00:27

Where can you find them and

play00:28

should you be scared of them?

play00:29

Let's talk about the different types of

play00:31

Animal Crossing Discord

play00:32

bots and how they can be

play00:33

incredibly helpful for you to get items

play00:35

faster and easier than by

play00:37

using a Treasure Island.

play00:39

Animal Crossing bots are hosted on a

play00:41

modded switch and are

play00:42

designed to only spawn in-game

play00:43

items and resources which you can use to

play00:46

either decorate your

play00:46

island or play your game.

play00:48

Some of the bots are hosted on Treasure

play00:50

Islands, whilst others are

play00:51

held on their own islands

play00:52

which you can either visit to collect

play00:54

items you request or they

play00:56

can deliver items to you.

play00:58

Depending on what it is you're looking to

play00:59

get, the different services can either be

play01:01

used instead of Treasure Islands or as a

play01:03

supplement to a Treasure Island run.

play01:06

I can hear what you may be thinking,

play01:07

"Animal Crossing bots?

play01:09

Sounds like they're going to break my

play01:10

game or switch in some

play01:11

way and using them to get

play01:13

items in-game sounds a little bit dodgy."

play01:16

I can understand

play01:16

where you're coming from.

play01:18

After all, when you hear the word bot it

play01:19

is typically

play01:20

associated with bad things, but

play01:22

the Animal Crossing bots we're going to

play01:24

be covering here are

play01:25

only used to spawn in-game

play01:27

items for you to use.

play01:28

They were created as a tool to help you

play01:30

get access to

play01:31

resources or items to decorate

play01:32

your island.

play01:33

We've all been there with needing to find

play01:35

30 pieces of iron to

play01:36

upgrade Nook's Cranny

play01:38

and you just can't find them.

play01:40

Or you need a fair few Nook Miles tickets

play01:41

for a villager hunt,

play01:43

but you don't actually

play01:44

have the Nook Miles you need to redeem a

play01:45

load of them from the ABD.

play01:47

Animal Crossing bots can help you make

play01:48

the most of your time

play01:49

playing the game, but they

play01:51

aren't required for you

play01:52

to enjoy Animal Crossing.

play01:54

But if you want some help, they are a

play01:56

great way to get a hold of

play01:57

extra resources you need.

play01:59

To use any of these bots, you're going to

play02:01

need Nintendo Switch

play02:02

Online as you'll need

play02:03

to be able to access online multiplayer,

play02:05

and you'll also need a

play02:06

Discord account as all

play02:07

of these bots need the ability to send

play02:09

you a message with a

play02:10

dodo code in order to order items.

play02:13

Depending on the service you're looking

play02:14

at as well, you may need

play02:16

either a Twitch subscription

play02:17

or a YouTube membership.

play02:19

Some of the bots we're talking about

play02:20

today are provided free

play02:22

for the community whilst

play02:23

others are locked behind a paywall.

play02:25

I'll leave a list of various different

play02:26

places that I've found in

play02:27

the description which have

play02:29

access to the different types of bots,

play02:31

and I'll make a note

play02:31

beside each one which ones

play02:33

you need to pay extra for.

play02:35

There are three different types of Animal

play02:36

Crossing Discord bot

play02:37

which you may come across

play02:38

at any given point.

play02:40

In this video, I'm going to give you a

play02:41

rough guide to what they

play02:42

all are and how you use

play02:44

them, but if there is a specific bot

play02:46

you'd like to see in

play02:46

more detail, let me know in the comments.

play02:49

If you've ever run around a treasure

play02:50

island and haven't found

play02:51

what you wanted and then

play02:53

had to go through the pain of finding

play02:54

another treasure island

play02:55

that has the thing you're

play02:56

looking for, then a drop bot may be a

play02:58

good option for you to use.

play03:00

Drop bots are typically hosted on a

play03:02

treasure island, and as

play03:03

the name suggests, they're

play03:04

programmed to drop

play03:05

items that you request.

play03:06

Normally on a treasure island, the player

play03:08

character stands

play03:09

somewhere where they aren't

play03:10

going to be in the way.

play03:11

Normally this is by the airport, but they

play03:14

can be on the island

play03:15

as well and are normally

play03:16

in a position where they're not going to

play03:17

be in the way when

play03:18

you're wandering around

play03:19

and picking up items.

play03:21

However, if you're on a treasure island

play03:22

which has a drop bot,

play03:24

the player character will

play03:25

instead be in a larger open space which

play03:27

is normally marked on

play03:28

the map with the in-game pathing.

play03:30

This area is going to be large enough for

play03:32

the bot to drop items

play03:33

that you have requested

play03:34

via Discord.

play03:35

There are a series of different commands

play03:37

that you need to use

play03:38

with a drop bot to find the

play03:39

items you want before you can order them,

play03:41

but when you do enter

play03:42

the final command to

play03:43

drop the items, the player character will

play03:45

go into their pockets

play03:46

and drop each item that

play03:48

you asked for one at a time.

play03:49

Personally, I've found drop bots

play03:51

incredibly helpful and one

play03:53

of the most reliable methods

play03:54

to get access to items.

play03:56

If you're someone who regularly goes to

play03:57

treasure islands, then

play03:58

seeing a drop bot and using

play04:00

one can very quickly become second

play04:02

nature, and having access

play04:03

to one on a treasure island

play04:04

is great if the island doesn't have the

play04:06

exact item you want.

play04:08

As you may know, treasure islands often

play04:10

have a theme and will

play04:11

have items which are related

play04:12

to that theme, so as a result, they may

play04:14

not have everything you want.

play04:16

This is where a drop bot is the most

play04:18

useful because you can

play04:19

quickly request the item you

play04:20

want before you go back

play04:21

to decorating your island.

play04:23

However, in order to use a drop bot,

play04:25

there are a few commands

play04:26

that you need to get your

play04:27

head around, and unless you can remember

play04:29

the codes of all of the

play04:30

items, you're going to

play04:31

want to use all of them.

play04:32

If you're someone who isn't as

play04:34

techy-minded, this may cause some

play04:36

difficulties, but as all

play04:38

of the drop bots seem to have the same

play04:39

coding system, once you

play04:41

understand the process, it's

play04:42

a really quick method of getting every

play04:44

item you want easily with

play04:46

just a teeny bit of prep.

play04:47

The other thing to keep in mind is that

play04:49

because a drop bot is

play04:50

normally on a treasure island,

play04:51

you will still have to contend with

play04:53

people flying in and out

play04:54

and picking up items whilst

play04:56

you're using the drop bot.

play04:57

Because the drop bot has to go into its

play04:59

pockets to drop items,

play05:00

what you'll normally find with

play05:02

a drop bot is that there are limits on

play05:04

the number of items you

play05:05

can request at one time.

play05:06

This is helpful if you're looking for a

play05:08

small selection of

play05:09

items, but if you're wanting

play05:10

a full pocket of items from the drop bot,

play05:12

it can be a bit

play05:13

frustrating if you're only

play05:14

limited to drop fewer than

play05:16

10 items in one given go.

play05:18

Despite this though, if you want items

play05:20

quickly, I find drop bots

play05:22

are the most helpful when

play05:23

I'm in the middle of decorating and just

play05:25

need a few final items to

play05:26

finish a build, and I'll

play05:27

always use a treasure island which has a

play05:29

drop bot if I just want

play05:31

something quickly, as I

play05:32

generally find the queue times are often

play05:34

shorter to get onto a

play05:35

treasure island which has a

play05:36

drop bot than a normal treasure island.

play05:39

If you want more items than you can

play05:40

request in a single drop

play05:42

bot run, then using an order

play05:43

bot may be a better option for you.

play05:45

Animal Crossing order bots work in a

play05:47

similar way to drop bots,

play05:48

but the biggest differences

play05:49

are that they're not normally hosted on a

play05:52

treasure island and you

play05:53

can place one order for a

play05:54

pocket full of items to

play05:55

collect when you're ready.

play05:57

You may have heard of order bots before

play05:58

seeing this video as

play05:59

they're fairly commonly known

play06:01

and used in the community, and I would

play06:03

argue they're probably

play06:04

one of the easiest of the

play06:05

bots to use.

play06:06

If I'm looking for a lot of items where I

play06:08

want to plan ahead of time what I want to

play06:10

order to pick up later, then I'm more

play06:12

likely to use an order

play06:13

bot over a drop bot, as the

play06:15

process of getting

play06:15

items is slightly quicker.

play06:17

Although you can use the same type of

play06:19

ordering system with an

play06:20

order bot as you can with a

play06:21

drop bot, the most common method of

play06:23

ordering items from an order

play06:24

bot is to use an app called

play06:26

ACNH Spawner to build

play06:27

out your order first.

play06:29

I'm planning on making another video soon

play06:30

explaining how this

play06:31

app works in more detail,

play06:33

so if you want to see that video when it

play06:34

goes live, please do consider subscribing

play06:36

so that it hits your sub

play06:38

boxes as soon as it's out.

play06:39

For the short summary of how this works

play06:41

is that each of the

play06:42

boxes you see at the top

play06:43

is the same as one space in your pockets.

play06:46

When you want to order items, you fill in

play06:48

each of these slots with what you want to

play06:50

order, and when you're happy with your

play06:51

order, you submit it

play06:53

into the Discord server.

play06:54

You'll then be given a dodo code when

play06:56

your order is ready to

play06:57

collect, and you then fly

play06:58

over to the island to collect your order.

play07:00

Order bots are so helpful for getting

play07:02

items, and if you're

play07:03

setting up for a big build

play07:04

and you know exactly what items you need,

play07:07

you can set it up so

play07:08

that you get everything

play07:09

in one trip and can go

play07:10

straight into decorating.

play07:12

For me, this is incredibly helpful for

play07:14

large projects as I can

play07:15

review my storage and plan

play07:17

out everything I need for a build ahead

play07:18

of time, and then

play07:19

order it when I'm able to

play07:21

pick things up, which then bypasses the

play07:23

need to make multiple

play07:24

Treasure Island runs.

play07:25

What is one of the biggest advantages of

play07:27

using an order bot over

play07:28

a drop bot or a Treasure

play07:30

Island is that you're usually the only

play07:32

person on the island, so

play07:33

when you do receive the

play07:34

dodo code to collect your items, you

play07:37

don't have to worry

play07:37

about being interrupted with

play07:38

people flying in and out.

play07:40

So if you're someone who is easily

play07:41

distracted or frustrated

play07:43

with the long times you may

play07:44

have to wait to get everything you want

play07:45

from a Treasure Island,

play07:47

using an order bot may

play07:48

be the best thing for you.

play07:50

Something to keep in mind with order bots

play07:51

is that because

play07:52

they're the most well-known

play07:53

of the Animal Crossing Discord bots, and

play07:55

there are plenty of

play07:55

options you can visit to acquire

play07:57

items, they can sometimes have really

play07:59

long queues of people

play08:00

waiting for their own items.

play08:02

Couple this with only being able to place

play08:04

one order at a time, it can be slow going

play08:07

if you're looking for

play08:07

quite a lot of items.

play08:09

If you are prepared to wait out the

play08:11

queue, I would recommend

play08:12

setting a timer to go off

play08:13

about 10 minutes before the end of your

play08:15

wait so that you can be

play08:16

prepared to collect your

play08:17

order and be ready for

play08:18

that dodo code when it comes.

play08:20

However, if you don't want to wait, what

play08:22

I would suggest is

play08:23

looking into a drop bot

play08:24

instead as you can normally look up the

play08:26

code for each of the

play08:27

items you want to order and

play08:28

pick everything up in the time that it

play08:30

takes for the order bot

play08:31

to have finished preparing

play08:32

your order.

play08:33

However, as much as order bots are great

play08:35

for getting a fair few

play08:36

items for build and you

play08:37

can order the exact items you want for

play08:39

build straight away, if

play08:41

you've just started out

play08:42

an island or are starting to plan out

play08:43

what the theme is going

play08:44

to be, using an order bot

play08:46

may not be the best thing for you.

play08:48

In those cases, using a delivery bot may

play08:50

work out better for you.

play08:52

Delivery bots aren't as common and work

play08:54

very differently from

play08:55

drop bots and order bots.

play08:56

The way to think of a delivery bot is

play08:58

more like ordering items from Amazon.

play09:01

You scroll through a catalogue, select the

play09:03

items you want, and then

play09:04

you invite the bot to come

play09:05

to your island via an order code, and

play09:08

they drop the items

play09:09

when your order is ready.

play09:10

The only place I found delivery bots when

play09:12

I've been looking for

play09:13

items is in Berichan's server

play09:15

and as far as I'm aware, they're the

play09:16

person who created all

play09:18

three of these Animal Crossing

play09:19

Discord bots, so I'll link their Discord

play09:21

down below if you want to check out their

play09:23

services which are amazing and available

play09:25

for you to use for free.

play09:26

However, if you do know any other places

play09:28

which do have delivery

play09:30

bots, please do let me know

play09:31

in the comments as it's always great to

play09:33

find some new resources to

play09:34

get items for decorating.

play09:36

The biggest difference between the

play09:37

delivery bot and an order

play09:38

bot is that you can order

play09:39

more than 40 items at a time, which is

play09:42

amazing if you've just

play09:43

started a new island and

play09:44

just need access to a lot of items

play09:46

quickly to get started as

play09:48

you'll only have a limited

play09:49

amount of pocket space to

play09:50

pick up items in the first place.

play09:52

Delivery bots are also amazing if you're

play09:53

a newer player and

play09:55

aren't as familiar with

play09:56

the names of items because instead of

play09:57

ordering items individually, you

play09:59

typically order items

play10:00

from an Animal Crossing

play10:01

delivery bot in themed bundles.

play10:03

This is useful for testing out a theme

play10:05

and just wanting to

play10:06

try some items to see how

play10:08

you feel about a theme before you fully

play10:10

commit to decorating your island.

play10:12

However, because you're ordering in

play10:13

bundles of items, you may

play10:15

find yourself ordering items

play10:17

which you don't want

play10:17

to use for decorating.

play10:19

This isn't necessarily a problem if

play10:21

you're someone who works

play10:21

through their storage fairly

play10:23

quickly and doesn't end up filling all

play10:24

5000 storage slots that you have,

play10:27

but if you're

play10:27

prone to hoarding items in Animal Crossing -

play10:29

and let's face it, most of us are -

play10:31

you may

play10:32

find that you end up with some items

play10:33

you've ordered that you

play10:34

just never use which take

play10:36

up storage space for items you do want.

play10:39

If you know what you want to order, then

play10:40

using something like an

play10:41

order bot or a drop bot

play10:43

is better, but if you just need that

play10:45

first set of items,

play10:46

they are wonderful to use.

play10:48

The only thing to keep in mind with

play10:49

delivery bots is that

play10:50

because they're bringing items

play10:51

to you and you can end up ordering more

play10:54

than 40 items using this

play10:55

method, you're going to

play10:56

need a lot of space on the island for

play10:58

items to be dropped.

play10:59

If you're decorating your island and

play11:01

you've already decorated

play11:02

quite a lot of it, then

play11:03

I personally would steer clear of using a

play11:05

delivery bot unless

play11:06

you have a full pocket

play11:07

space and can pick up items as the

play11:09

delivery bot is dropping

play11:11

them to save some space for

play11:12

items that do need to be

play11:13

dropped as part of your order.

play11:15

Despite the fact we're talking about

play11:16

Animal Crossing bots here,

play11:18

there's one question which

play11:19

you may still be worried about, and that

play11:21

is whether they will

play11:22

break your game or harm

play11:23

your switch in some way, and I'll be

play11:25

completely honest here

play11:26

and say that they don't.

play11:27

Every item that you can get from them is

play11:29

a normal in-game item,

play11:31

and the bots are only

play11:32

programmed to drop items

play11:33

for you to use in the game.

play11:34

I've been using all three of these in

play11:36

different combinations

play11:37

across the last three years and

play11:39

on multiple islands and switches.

play11:41

All of them are completely fine and have

play11:43

never been harmed by

play11:44

me using any item that

play11:45

I've gotten from any of these bots.

play11:47

If you are interested in trying them out,

play11:49

it's always worth

play11:49

giving them a go, but if

play11:51

you're someone who is worried about using

play11:52

Discord and doing

play11:53

something wrong in one of

play11:54

the channels, you can always ask for help

play11:56

from one of the mods

play11:57

or the staff team and

play11:59

they'll be able to point you in the right

play12:00

direction if you are struggling.

play12:02

Animal Crossing Discord bots have

play12:03

completely changed the way

play12:05

I play my game and each has

play12:06

its own advantages and disadvantages

play12:08

depending on what items

play12:10

you're looking for and how

play12:11

quickly you want to get a hold of them.

play12:13
