had to escape La uh because of war and

persecution uh when I was about one and

a half years old and uh the next four

years I I I spent in the refugee camps

in Thailand and uh I understand the

hardship and struggles living in refugee

camps and when about six years old we

resettled here in San

Diego and you know I remember the first

day um the very first day when I was six

years old when I my first day in in

America I I remember um the har seeing

the harbor seeing the the top builds in

downtown this is the the first time I

ever seen anything like this and also

the first time I saw a TV set and first

time I had a chance to lay on a on a

mattress on a bed and so I remember that

first day vividly and it it's kind of

carry on into my life and I I look at

all the different opportunities I have

here in uh in America it's about a new

beginning it's about hopes it's about

dreaming Big Dreams it's about uh

imagining what you can be living the

life that you want to live it's uh there

different all these different

possibilities now that I have I realize

that um so I understand that you know if

you want to you can you can you can

dream big you know whatever you want to

be in life you can this is this America

has that opportunity for you so there's

really no uh there's no limitation it's

just it really depends on if you want to

work hard work hard willing to make

sacrifices and that you can reach those

dreams it's about you know being an
