Transcripts
hi how is everyone going I'm just having
my
greens welcome to my channel I'm Leslie
I'm just having my
greens um my friend actually recommended
me this and it makes me feel really good
it's filled with so many good things
it's got vitamins minerals greens
protein herbs superfoods antioxidants
digestive enzymes pre and
probiotics and I feel good I haven't
been taking it for that long but
but I can definitely notice the
difference and it actually doesn't taste
that
bad when things go bad in my life or
when things take a turn or when I have
to deal with
something heavy or something that I
don't really want to be dealing with I
isolate it's how I've always dealt with
things um I spent a lot of
time alone when I was growing up and so
I just feel like it's naturally how I
respond if things are getting heavy and
hard I just need to be alone and that's
not necessarily a good or a bad thing
however I have noticed that when we
spend a lot of time with people we get
kind of Tainted by the world around us
we get kind of consumed by it in my
experience anyway I get completely just
pulled into the energy and everyone
around me and I and I kind of lose
myself and so for me isolation is just
how I cope with that um but it got
really bad when I gained weight and I'm
just going to talk briefly on my story
and then I'm going to talk about how
isolation actually served
me
so okay I was depressed for three nearly
four years um um and it was like periods
of time it was almost like I was put
into this isolation and this
loneliness um to really find myself uh I
was very lost
and I really was not in a very good head
space just before my just before my
depression really hit going into the
depression for three basically what was
like an ongoing thing of three years of
my life it really was just this
accumulation of time that brought me to
understanding
myself understanding my emotions
understanding my
past um figuring out who I was and
everything it just all like was
constantly
circulating in my mind of I'm So Alone
why am I going through this and then at
the same time having to face these
really heavy
emotions and it was a lot after that I
decided to go to New Zealand and I was
in New Zealand for a
year and about 7 months in I got sick
and that was last
December and I had such an amazing time
I learned so so much I I found peace
with people I found great people and it
was amazing after spending so much time
with myself and being overweight and
being afraid of the world it was it was
an amazing experience but then I got
sick and I was back into isolation since
last December but that's not necessarily
the point of this video the point of
this video is that I'm not the same
person that I was last December and we
can all like we can say that no one
really is the same person but I am so so
not that person just from sitting with
myself for such a long time and yes it's
been hard and yes it's been lonely and
yes it has sucked but now that I'm like
towards the end of this I can really cuz
I have my procedure in a week I can
really understand it for what it was
understand it for what it was teaching
me and and it's taught me a
lot I am actually more so grateful for
this period of my life I would not be
confident enough to stand in front of
the camera if it wasn't for this period
of my life I have found Inner Strength I
have
found
myself I'm comfortable with myself I
have accepted myself my laws I've
accepted um who I am and I feel like a
lot of the last 8 months or whatever has
been on top of that three years and it
is a long time but that three years that
I was dealing with depression that
really made me reflect on my mistakes
that time really made me reflect on
everything that all the bad things that
have happened to me and all the bad
things that I've done and all the
it was really nasty it felt really
really nasty and the last since December
this has
been me really standing
up I
feel I feel okay with myself
isolation and once again I'm not saying
it's a good or bad thing but for me this
period of time with
myself where I can find my own beliefs
and my own views has really taught me to
stand
straight to look people in the eye
because I feel confident to do
so I'm capable I'm totally in my
character I'm who I am I'm in my purpose
now
and that is just what isolation has done
for me and because I was brave enough to
face all of those things I was brave
enough to face the fact that I was 120
kilos and I was
miserable I was brave enough to face the
fact that that was not how I wanted to
live my
life not how I wanted to live the rest
of my life that the people around me
weren't the nicest people they were
draining me my environment was draining
me I was unhappy and I had to face such
turbulent emotions periods of
time I had to face myself I had to face
my own flaws and really
just all of
that and then the last s
months I've come to terms with
it I'm okay whether things happen or
not
and I'm making this video because a lot
of
a lot of the time that Life deals us
these shitty cans we go why why am I
dealing with this what have I done to
deserve this and that's what I've been
thinking about the first four months of
my sickness every second I was like why
am I dealing with this what have I done
I've just escaped 3 years plus of
depression I finally got my life and
went to New
Zealand why am I dealing with this
now and I would say I'm a very spiritual
person but I'm that's not the point of
this
video maybe in like a future video I'll
talk about my spirituality but I
think that it's hard times aren't in
vain they're never in vain there's
always reason whether that is truly just
just finding
ourselves finding who we
are releasing things that don't serve
us understanding that we don't really
need that
much we can live without that
much
and we can find
happiness without that much because we
can find happiness within
ourselves that's what isolation is
taught me if you take a small period of
time and you just sit with yourself for
that small period of time it doesn't
have to be 3 years oh my God I hope not
for you it doesn't have to be 3 years it
can just be a small amount of time say
you take the
weekend you know cuz we have
responsibilities take the weekend to
yourself the world will still be there
when you return back to work
but if you just take this
weekend one or two days to just be with
yourself and not be so tainted by the
views of people around you not be so um
consumed by what people are doing what
people are saying and just sitting with
yourself
finding your own voice inside listening
to it
figuring out what you like and what you
don't like listening to it when it tells
you it wants to do something else when
you're you're on One path but it wants
to go down another path sitting with
yourself and really listening to
that because usually your intuition is
probably guiding you I don't even want
to say probably it's definitely guiding
you to your
purpose your purpose doesn't have to be
grand your purpose could just be family
building a family building a life your
purpose might be that way but you're
going this way and the people are
talking to you people are all around you
and so you can't hear that voice
inside and that is another reason why
isolation is so important is because
without
isolation and I don't even want to say
isolation without taking time to
yourself it's really a lot harder to
connect
to that voice inside it's harder to
connect to your spirituality to yourself
to your
beliefs um and I also want to say that
we are human we are social beings we are
not necessarily meant to be in long
periods of
isolation um I just think that for me
and for the things that I was dealing
with it took a long time to deal with
that
and I probably sat in it for longer than
I needed to but I don't regret it I
needed that
time so what I'm trying to say is
doesn't matter how short or long a
period of time that you need or if
you're in the middle of it right
now that is not in vain you know we need
we need time to process things we need
time to heal we need time to connect
and I am so strong in myself in my
beliefs and my wants and my intuition
I'm so strong because I've learned to
connect to
that I can connect to it a lot easier I
I can
really listen to myself first and that
is so important listening to yourself
first don't wait for a midlife crisis to
do something about your
life and choose to today to sit and
appreciate we have one life that we
don't have an unlimited amount of time
here we are
mortal it comes to an end that's just a
fact and reflect on are you happy are
you
fulfilled are you following your
purpose can you hear your intuition can
you hear that inner voice inside of you
are you listening to
it and I can tell you now that none of
the above before my
depression my emotions was so chaotic I
was so
chaotic I I was not in a good place
mentally clearly before my depression
before my
isolation I was dealing with trauma and
PTSD that were affecting me and my and I
couldn't work because I was so chaotic
and everything was so all over the place
and I wasn't listening to myself I was
listening to everyone
else and by doing that I felt even more
chaotic cuz I was like something isn't
right and it's like yeah girl you're not
listening to yourself you're not like
this isn't where you meant to be this
this isn't the environment for you
really reflecting on those things are
you happy are you fulfilled and are you
living your
purpose and that is very
important that is so so
important because if not what are we
doing why are we
here why are we here all of this to say
the best thing that we can do in this
lifetime is listen to ourselves first
and doing that is going to tell you if
you are in the right environment if you
are around the right people if you are
following your purpose in your in the
right job if you are with the right
partner all of these things are so
important because that's what we spend
the majority of our time doing working
towards and what's the point of working
towards something if we aren't fulfilled
if we aren't listening to
ourself
so that is what isolation taught me and
I I don't regret the amount of time that
I spent in it I'm 26 in a few weeks and
for a very long time at the start of
when I got sick I was like I missed out
on my 25th birthday thank you
Universe thank you and I was
so pissed I was so mad I I I couldn't
believe that I did all that work I got
myself I went overseas I was finally
starting to be
myself and then I dealt with this
again and now I'm coming to the terms
with the fact that I am so glad that it
happened if I am honest with myself even
though I did all that work I wasn't
standing
straight I wasn't completely connected
to my purpose being in isolation has led
me to YouTube and I love you YouTube
being in isolation has led me to
dating someone new that I like talking
to that respects me because I respect
myself date and not just that it's like
I've really found my purpose so how can
you spend a little time finding yours
how can you spend
time with just yourself not the rest of
the world because the rest of the world
will still be there still going to be
there it doesn't go away the world will
keep going and going whether you're in
it or not and that's just a fact but in
knowing that fact why wouldn't you want
to spend some time with
yourself I've been transformed through
this time I've built confidence
character and yeah found my purpose I'm
a writer as well and so I've had plenty
of time to do to connect with that
and writing is ultimately what I've
wanted to do with my life for a very
long time and connecting to that
creativity fulfills me in ways that I
couldn't even explain so now I know what
I want I know who I am I'm listening to
myself I'm listening to my body I feed
my body well because it asked me to and
I listen to it and I feel good on top of
of everything else what I've learned in
isolation is
priceless so I encourage you to spend a
little time with
yourself and I also think that this
message is for people who are also going
through it as well right now so because
I know that a lot of people who watch my
videos are going through it because I
talk a lot about heavy things and people
have told me what they're going through
and I really am so glad for everyone
that does open up to me I read all of
the
comments thank you and if you're going
through it just know that it's not in
vain use this time to connect with
yourself use
it sit with it it's
uncomfortable it's so uncomfortable
especially when we're dealing with such
heavy things and being alone on top of
it it is
uncomfortable but it's not for no
reason sometimes when we go through
grief and depression it's
because it's we need this time we need
this time just to heal in general so I
hope that this found you well and if you
are going through something right now
just keep
going keep going
and yes the thoughts of why am I dealing
with this is probably going to continue
to be in your
mind even for me some days I'm like oh
my God I can't believe I'm still dealing
with this but like I know that it's not
for no
reason and I just wanted to let you know
that it's not for no
reason okay so thank you for watching I
hope that you took something away from
this video and I will see you in in the
next one
