Transcripts
so people in the SEO world are pissed
they're saying Google is killing sites
content sites are doomed and there's
conspiracies Galore about Google saying
one thing and doing another rewarding
media sites Reddit while screwing over
everyone else so we're entering a new
world when it comes to SEO and SEO as we
knew it like a year ago it's still not
quite dead actually right but the big
pivot here is in so here's exactly
what's happening Google is making
reactionary moves to Ai and Chad gbt by
becoming the human answer platform
namely it's rewarding user generated
content and Authority right Forbes and
Reddit things that chat GPT can't
actually do so if you're just a small
website owner an individual blogger or a
Content site how do we actually compete
with that doing SEO in 2024 like what do
we do right now to generate traffic and
how did I do a complete 180 delete like
a 100 articles change my strategy and
increase my organic traffic during all
this craziness by 50% in this video I'm
covering the exact step-by-step SEO
course you need this year so we're going
to cover the problems with SEO right now
exactly what you should be doing how to
Pivot if it's just not working for you
and a game plan of what to do in any
Niche now if you want to join us learn
how we're building these profitable
online businesses in 2024 click the link
in the description below I'll give you
access to all the resources you need to
get started once and for all so after
the recent Google updates people are
pretty pissed off Google's killing the
industry the greatest trick Google ever
pulled was convincing everyone that all
small content creators are blog spammers
The Verge has gone nuclear um every site
I know of has been obliterated does
anyone care anymore stop with the
blogging is dead the truth
behind Google core updates my conspiracy
theory so AI content is making Google
crazy all that they have done is reacted
and rewarded uh user generated content
forums and Authority so they're they're
saying Authority matters because that's
the only thing we know that can be
trustworthy potentially big sites and
user generated content Reddit threads of
people just saying stuff even if they
have no experience on the topic so
that's their answer to AI so as a small
blog what do we do do we add a forum to
our site do we pretend that we have a
bunch of products on our site and we're
actually not a Content site we're a big
e-commerce brand not necessarily right
we don't have to do that but what we
have to do is realize that Okay Google's
rewarding user generated content and
Authority that is their answer so as a
small blog we need to write things that
don't require Authority and don't need
user generated content so when we think
about this what we want to rank for when
we're finding our niche as a small
website is things that aren't too
competitive first so your money your
life things like Finance software
business decisions risky stuff Health
Fitness things that can actually affect
people's health or their wallet or their
life we probably want to stay away from
those now to be completely honest what
we can do is find easier less uh risky
keywords that we can write so just do a
search for something like random like
living room ideas okay we see there's a
bunch of sites ranking here not saying
this is a good example but like yes
there's going to be the discussions in
forums tab here but there's not Reddit
on page one there's not an actual Forum
as one of the search results so we have
to find things that are less risky and
actually we can rank four so how do we
find them well it's a little bit
different in every Niche but I'm just
going to give you a broad example first
so if we put in ideas ideas are just
generally top of funnel ideas that
people have they want some inspiration
on so if you put that in what I would do
then is you drop the difficulty down to
literally like two we don't want to like
previous videos I say oh drop it to 10
or 20 we want things that are super low
competition right and then we can also
say lowest Dr so this is important you
can say up to 30 in the top so this is
saying that a site with a domain rating
of 30 or less is ranking in the top five
meaning a low Authority site is ranking
for this we can show results so what we
see here is a bunch of random stuff so
there's cool drawing ideas Easter Easter
basket ideas birthday party ideas so
this is giving all ideas so the easiest
possible blog to rank for right now is
probably things around uh party ideas
birthday parties 40th birthday 50th
birthday 60th tattoo everyone searches
for tattoo ideas right so that's not
competitive either so lots of like
Hobbies crafts and things like that
weren't competitive and still aren't
competitive when it comes to SEO you can
just do this in any Niche so put in
something like business the most
broadest thing possible I drop the
difficulty down to two and I see low Dr
site in the top five and we see all
kinds of interesting longtail keywords
here that are actually somewhat
interesting like how to start a box
truck business how to start a medical
transportation business how to start a
permanent jewelry business so really
writing all kinds of things now what
we're looking for when we put these
keywords in again with SEO we're trying
to rank this content on Google right so
we're trying to figure out what's not
competitive what we can rank for and
then how we can build topical Authority
because we can't just write one article
we have to write a lot of them to
blanket the topic another easy SEO thing
to rank for was like names right just
these ideas these names these lowrisk uh
things we can rank for so like cute
names Backstreet Boys names not I don't
know I don't know their names Justin
that was in sync but there's they have
names uh fairy names Druid names space
names you see like a ton of search
volume here so what we're doing is like
in this new world of SEO like it's a
little bit more difficult to rank and
I'll show you in a second here like
affiliate specific keywords like best
software best credit cards things like
that that are getting more competitive
so we're finding like okay if we're
going to shift our strategy to make
money with a website we're going to
shift it a little bit from like just
affiliate marketing to getting a ton of
traffic back with easier to rank for
informational content building the email
list from that content with exit and 10
pop-ups and adding ads to our blog so
that is still a viable option for
Content sites the good news is there's a
ton of search volume for a lot of this
easy stuff I mean if you're a food blog
I put in recipes and you can see all
kinds of different things like rice
cooker recipes difficulty of two 9100
penet pasta Trader Joe's uh all kinds of
different things right so you find the
search volume which this is the monthly
searches and then the keyword difficulty
is low and you just put in these seed
phrases related to your Niche so if it's
food it's going to be recipes if it's
Fitness it's going to be workouts and
then you just drop the difficulty down
to like literally two
and you know find things that way cable
back workouts CYCC syncing workouts
shoulder cable workouts so like if I was
going to start a fitness blog and I'm
like I was writing all kinds of stuff
about treadmills and back exercises and
workouts and like maybe my uh Niche is
like you could have anything from
high-intensity interval training to
CrossFit whatever I would hone in on
what is the easiest stuff to rank for
and I would start writing every article
about cable workouts because that's the
easiest opportunity like if you're in
Fitness you want to rank content on
Google look at all these keywords cable
back workouts chest cable workouts uh
bicep cable workouts so there's a lot of
different things and then again you
blanket the topical Authority by having
all of the articles about cable workouts
now even though it seems tough there are
still opportunities out there everywhere
most people that are complaining about
this stuff yes their rankings went down
right maybe they were on page one and
they're on page two but the question is
like should they have been ranking for
it in the first place do they have the
best SEO skills at all or are they just
complaining on Reddit forms like I know
most people on Reddit complain that's
what they love to do on there sit in
their basement and complain so the thing
is if we put in best software yes it
looks really competitive' 70s right but
if we drop that difficulty down to like
two we show the results here even if
we're using an affiliate keyword for SEO
for best software we can still see
there's stuff in here right like a lot
of it's around music recording and
podcasting so best golf simulator
software difficulty of zero it's
searched 500 times a month deep fake
software little risky to write but
whatever uh GoPro editing software right
so there's opportunities in every single
Niche still you just have to lower the
bar a little bit on what you're writing
about so the first thing I would do is
just look at HRS or another SEO tool
like use it for a month and cancel if
you need to but use it and try to find
like okay in my Niche if I put in my
main keywords around like this one's
like best kayak if I put in like kaying
fishing whatever my niches business
blogging anything and I drop the keyword
difficulty down to a super low level are
there enough keywords and enough
categories of stuff to write so the
truth is for outdoor products when it
comes to SEO if you're writing about
Kayaking and fishing and recommending
that kind of product the opportunity is
still out there I mean there's tons of
different things best kayak paddle fish
finders inflatable fishing kayaks kayaks
for dogs if you're in the outdoor Niche
or hobby Niche you don't really need to
Pivot you just need to keep doing what
you're doing finding low competition
keywords you can rank for however if
you're in more competitive niches like a
lot of people are a lot of people like
to write about making money online or
software or blogging or things like that
Finance you know kind of that
professional experience that you have
you just have to find the easy
informational seed phrase for you now
it's going to take some time you know if
anyone can find it it's going to be a
little bit more difficult so you know
you have to find it for yourself and the
goal when you find it is to find a
keyword seed phrase that gives you 50
articles that you can eventually write
that are low competition and once you
write all of them you're you're going to
have more content than anyone else cuz
think about it like Forbes isn't going
to write every single article about the
best kayaks paddles fish finders
inflatable fishing kayaks kayaks for
dogs like they don't have the time or
the resources or care they're making
enough money big media sites to not go
down this rabbit hole right so you have
to as a smaller blogger go down the
rabbit hole of deep informational and
transactional content
deeper in a specific Niche we can't go
too broad anymore we can't write about
Kayaking and fishing and hiking and all
of that stuff we can eventually right we
just need lots and lots of content to do
that so when it comes to SEO you just
have to find easier stuff to rank for
and as you can see like my site um in
the last 30 days organic's up 49.9% so
again when I did this strategy what I
did I I noticed that like I had I was in
software super competitive so when it
came to SEO I got pushed down to page
two I didn't disappear I got pushed down
to page two for a lot of these software
terms best CRM software should I bet
should I been ranking with there with
HubSpot in the first place probably not
doesn't make sense so I got pushed down
to for that one probably to page five
because it's like CRM tools are going to
be up there now right so authori is up
there the sites and companies are up
there content and affiliate sites are
getting pushed down for that competitive
stuff so I deleted a ton of articles I
had a bunch of stuff on like finance and
credit cards and crypto and nfts it was
just too broad so I deleted a lot of
content I then did a new strategy around
simple easy to rank for keywords related
to YouTube YouTube Instagram blogging
just stuff Tik Tok things that are a lot
easier to rank for and as you can
see blog's still making a million
dollars a year but traffic's also up 50%
over the last 30 days we can see that
here with some of the recent Trends in
HS and this is totally random it just
goes up and down and this is like
guessing random stuff but as you can see
there are still ways to get traffic uh
to a Blog to a website and do really
good SEO in 2024 we just have to kind of
shift our strategy and do it quickly so
let's talk about how to actually do SEO
in 2024 so we covered some of the
keywords stuff finding easier
opportunities we can also use AI tools a
little bit but not for the actual
writing it's more for the ideation so I
put in something like I'm a I'm a
blogger that writes about how to run an
Airbnb business random Niche give me 10
article ideas to dominate Google for
topical Authority around the subtopic of
Airbnb decorating and room designs so
what we're doing here is we're saying
hey I read about this give me some ideas
about this specific sub Niche and it
gives you some good ideas right so 10
must have decor items decorated tips
themed rooms styling eco-friendly budget
friendly seasonal and then what we can
do is like these are really good ideas
think of your blog as a way to help
people right so when they land on the
actual website and they see your stuff
it's related enough that all the
Articles actually help them what they
don't want to see is just a random
content affiliate site with tons of
random affiliate articles in there stuff
that doesn't make sense like my blog was
like that a few years ago just like
random articles about random software
business stuff like if if a a reader
lands on your blog
is it like optimized for them are there
actual helpful articles that most of
them they would like or not so we can
use a just generate ideas and then use
an SEO tool like HRS or another one to
just validate these ideas to make sure
that the competition is low the search
volume's decent we don't need to even
you know lower the bar on that too
because a lot of these tools are off you
could see when it comes to SEO there's a
keyword in ATS that might say monthly
search volume 10 it could be new and it
could actually be a thousand we just
don't know these are just tools we're
using them as a guide so we're get into
creating the SEO content in a second but
first let's talk about your actual
website so you have to be able to
Showcase some expertise you have to
think about eventually having a product
of your own to sell so when it comes to
thinking that Google's more competitive
now SEO is harder we don't want to put
all of our eggs in the affiliate
marketing Google basket it doesn't make
sense as a business owner to throw all
your eggs in one basket that you cannot
control Google could say tomorrow one
thing do another all of a sudden things
change again rankings go up rankings go
down it's not the best way to run a
sustainable business in the long term
you need things that you can control
products that you sell right a course
something that you teach that actually
has value that is what a business is
right and a business is not just like my
business started as an affiliate website
making affiliate Revenue I was also
doing some agency work I had clients
right so businesses make money in a few
different ways right selling services uh
selling things actually talking to
people or selling a product that's what
businesses are this middle ground that
we've lived in of affiliate marketing
and ads and blogging it does work it's
just getting more difficult on the
affiliate side side in certain niches so
the pivot is we have to start building
the email list from SEO and then
eventually we can sell our own product
so think about what would you teach for
example a really simple small website I
was looking at I found recently was bed
and breakfast Academy so as you know in
another video I have a house it's for
sale but I'm like maybe I could run it
as a bed and breakfast my mom would do
it someone would do it so I was like
Googling random bed and breakfast like
Airbnb type stuff and you can see if I
land on the site bed and breakfast
Academy it's only about that I land on
the blog and it all it is is a bunch of
informational articles that are all
pretty helpful right like if I'm
interested in this uh most of these
things are going to help me right
marketing ideas for bed and breakfast
practical guys choosing toiletries the
importance of this and that crafting
welcome trays so these are not all like
perfectly SEO optimized it's like
someone lands on this though and it's
actually helpful and there's a free
guide and then there's a paid course and
coaching right so there's a full course
and then you can go through it and get a
couple uh one-on-one coaching sessions
uh with that product another thing
really need to think about here is what
does your website look like what is the
navigation can people access information
easily are they going to stay on your
site or not because these things matter
to SEO so for example like you could
create a couple simple pages that house
some of your best content right instead
of just having the blog roll you could
create a WordPress page use a simple
theme like editor uh template like
either Thrive themes you could use
Cadence or something easy like that to
create a page and you see I have one
here on blogging so Adam enr.com
blogging I have information on it I have
a couple affiliate links here and then
it gets into my content so how to start
a blog from a seven figure entrepreneur
it's laid out in a simple way where you
can just read the content read my old
blog income reports and that and then I
created one I have one on YouTube so if
you want to start a YouTube business
they just creating these simple long
form landing page type of things that
people will actually read and look at
rather than just having a Blog R so it's
a little bit easier to consume it's a
little bit easier to process and see
when you actually have a few pages on
there that some of your best content so
that's a good way to make your
navigation a little bit easier so it's
pretty simple like you can click one of
these things and then you see a full
page on the content rather than just
finding a random blog post and then kind
of not sure where to click around to
You'll also see I did add products here
because I want to just make it look like
they products I sell products right
there these are external links but still
Rising above just an affiliate site and
having a real brand presence right so
that's like branded search volume that's
having products on the site things like
that so you want to showcase your expert
Chase within the content in the intro
I'm writing this article on the how to
start a trucking business and I have 15
years of trucking experience I've done X
Y and Z yada yada y right we want to
actually showcase the expertise in the
content we want to have a professional
looking website I recommend you start
with wpx and Cadence on WordPress there
is the best theme and web hosting and
then you add contact information have a
contact page have an actual address or
an LLC underneath in the bottom like
these are things you don't necessarily
need at the beginning but just have a
professional looking website and just
showcase your expertise and make it easy
to navigate in one specific Niche and
the most important thing here is
honestly topical Authority that is what
worked for me to increase traffic by 50%
recently it's like I was all over the
map I was talking about software
business finance blogging affiliate
marketing all this stuff I honed in on
various more specific types of content
in one area and it didn't work right
away like it took a month and I wasn't
really generating track I'm like is this
working or not but once I got 30
articles 31 32 33 34 35 then it started
to be like oh everything's kind of
ranking now because I actually have
topical Authority in this easier content
area for SEO so let's talk about
actually creating the content itself so
you have to find these easy topical
Authority building SEO informational
keywords whatever you want to call them
the ones that are easier in your Niche
the good news is a lot of these are a
lot easier to write than some
extravagant affiliate post or something
like that it's pretty much simple list
posts um with information in it right so
when we're doing it in 2024 we can still
use a tool like surf for SEO so here's a
random one of mine scheduling software
an old post I did uh but you can see
introduction it's got a score of 73 so
we can still optimize this uh this is
how I would use AI like this is natural
language processing a little bit of
machine learning understanding what the
top 30 ranking sites and the random
semantic keywords that they have in
there so you know things like an article
on best scheduling software would have
words like drag and drop scheduling
project managers multiple projects
visual planning these random things that
make it seem like it's really robust and
good content so you add some of these in
I say you add in 50% of these 80 so 40
is fine get the score up to like 70 or
65 we don't want to over optimize at all
in 2024 but then like Google's saying
don't SEO optimize at all it's like well
no if you just I tried that I actually
tried it so what I did was a lot of my
articles that were on like page two um
or the bottom of page one I completely
revamped the entire article I went from
SEO optimized with like an 80 Surfer
score to not really worrying about SEO
optimization maybe the surfer score was
like 40 or 50 and I made it as human
best human content I possibly could I
rewrote the intros I wrote it as
storytelling I did all this stuff and
guess what it got dranked down even
further so Google is lying to you saying
don't SEO optimize stuff they just make
things up to make it seem like they're
trying to care but they really don't so
don't abandon your entire strategies
here the goal here of SEO in 2024 isn't
to just do everything different it's all
nuance it's to slightly change strategy
so instead of over optimizing to like 90
and having it look perfect and it's
horribly written it's only SEO
optimized that doesn't work so lower the
expectation still use a tool like this
because that's still what works right
that is still working so use a tool like
Surfer get it to 70 and then we have to
add human elements so I'm talking simple
human elements we don't have to go crazy
here because Google's helpful content
update made some people and me included
go crazy with all this crazy experience
stuff and sometimes it just doesn't work
what does work is finding easier stuff
to rank for building topical Authority
and being like top five for topical
Authority in that area that's really
what works but adding a human touch can
help so uh personal stories examples
pictures of you using a product or doing
a thing the pros and cons your own
unique take right if you're reviewing a
product the thing that you don't want to
do what Google would deem unhelpful is
not adding anything to the conversation
so you find you know uh the latest video
screen recording software and you want
to write an article on the best screen
recording software so you look at the
different companies you look at their
websites you pick some features you add
it all in you don't really add anything
other than looking at other blog post
ranking looking at the company Pages
formatting it yourself publish it you're
adding nothing valuable to the
conversation so a media site can do that
they just put a bunch of on the
page and it ranks uh forums people will
give unbiased opinions on Reddit about
the best types of
things that they've actually used which
could be more trustworthy than a random
site right so as a small block though
what you have to do is add the human
element in from your expertise now this
isn't going to work if you don't have
real experience with these products
that's why building the topical
Authority again is the most important
thing in 2024 being known for one thing
one sub Niche the good news is you can
find it over time blogs are infinitely
pivotable when it comes to SEO you don't
have to delete everything like I deleted
a lot of stuff you just keep keep
publishing that's the thing you don't
slow down publishing you publish more so
let's talk about what to do if SEO just
isn't working for you so you're in a a
niche that's kind of getting competitive
finance software credit cards whatever
it is you have to Pivot your content to
easier your keywords you focus on
building your email list not affiliate
marketing you rank for the easier
informational stuff you build your email
list you sell your own product over time
maybe you're just in an ultra
competitive Niche and you see no path
forward if that's the case you know you
have to analyze your Niche really and
think about where would this audience
actually consume the content because
sometimes in often time most of the time
it's not going to be just Google so
first we have to talk about YouTube
YouTube is the second best choice
because it's the number two search
engine behind Google it's owned by
alphabet Youtube results are also shown
in the Google search results so it's the
best second platform and sometimes
videos are just better than text answers
you know if we Google something like how
to plant strawberries right we get a
feature snippet then we get a lot of
videos in here right and forums and
stuff so there's different ones and then
you see like a number of different
videos in the results because sometimes
if I want to plant a strawberry I just
want to see how to do it a like a
written blog post would have to be
diagrams and like pictures of how to do
it or words saying like you know do it
three inches this way it's easier to
just see it but another search is
completely different so tattoo ideas for
men that's mostly Pinterest and images
right Pinterest images Reddit threads
but then uh other you know smaller blogs
ranking for this tattoo ideas for men
because we just have to see it visually
that's picture based something like how
to screenshot on a Mac that can be
answered in about three sentences right
so there's a featured snippet showing it
and it's basically some videos but a lot
of just simple blog post writing about
how to actually take a screenshot right
so we have to think about it that way so
the key here is finding informational
content that makes sense to be written
in blog posts that can't be answered in
three to four sentences are answered by
AI too quickly so I want to cover how
and where to Pivot your strategy
in every Niche almost every Niche
quickly in a lightning round so let's
get into it if you're in health and
fitness first you find easier workout
keywords in a single area like I showed
you cable workouts things that are
easier to rank for with lower difficulty
and you also shift to YouTube doing
Fitness videos to eventually sell your
own course in the price of $ 20 to $100
if you have a food blog you keep your
blog you find easier recipes to rank for
with to build topical Authority and you
build an Instagram as well with pictures
of your recipes then you can sell your
own cookbooks recipes and things through
the blog and through Instagram if you're
in the outdoor Niche kaying fishing
hiking camping products that are outside
all you do is keep blogging uh find
easier info content you can just keep
with a Blog primarily because that is
not as competitive as others if you're
in fashion or beauty and you're not
getting traffic go to Pinterest that is
where all of the searches are happening
people looking for stuff I have videos
on that tattoos find easier keywords and
also Pinterest if you're in HomeGoods
like living room indoor products
Furniture pivot to easier ideas posts
different types of living room ideas
Farmhouse living room ideas bunch of
longer tail keywords you can rank for
build your email list sell your own
thing and eventually add Pinterest as
well so if you're in Hobbies like
crocheting knitting drawing painting
artwork things that are like hobbies
that you do in the home those are also
relatively easy to rank for so you still
blog but you're finding the easier
helpful how-to content informational
content and just keep blogging another
great secondary source for that is like
YouTube and short videos I've consumed a
ton of Tik Tok and YouTube and Instagram
reels about just interesting drawing
videos if you're in software or AI
blogging is getting too competitive for
you I would pivot to LinkedIn to a
newsletter strategy so LinkedIn posts
going to a newsletter and then you
monetize that with sponsors same thing
with sales sales can be really
competitive go from LinkedIn post
Twitter post to your newsletter all
right if you're in finance that's crypto
credit cards anything in finance go to
YouTube right you can rank YouTube
videos for the best credit cards the
best business debit account all kinds of
stuff on YouTube way easier than Google
let's talk travel so travel you can find
the easier informational keywords that
are longer taale you know different
destinations so maybe you focus on one
destination instead of the others and
you can also pivot to YouTube but not
some fancy crazy travel videos where
we're like shooting everything and it
takes this huge production budget more
just like talking head videos like this
about your experience traveling in
different places and talk about travel
insurance and things that actually can
make you affiliate revenue on YouTube
mindset and motivation you can pivot to
YouTube you're finding it a little bit
difficult to find easier keywords make
some you know videos on YouTube and then
eventually really honing on that Niche
so it's not just mindset I have a lot of
people saying I talk about mindset or
motivation too broad especially on
YouTube you have to talk about a
specific type of motivation and mindset
stuff is it stoicism is it building and
helping relationships is it a certain
aspect of life letting go of your past
you have to hone in on the sub Niche
first and then become known for one
thing pivot to YouTube find easier info
content if you're talking about
marketing building websites web design
good luck ranking for web design stuff
in 2024 when it comes to SEO it's been
around forever since the dawn of
Wordpress pivot to YouTube create videos
on how to build a website kind of like
what I'm doing on this channel some of
the stuff right a little bit different
but web design videos tutorials on
YouTube is unbelievably effective at
building a true audience you can do
faceless you could just show stuff on
the screen and then eventually sell your
own product if you're in pets pivot to
YouTube and video content like a lot of
the product based searches for pets are
getting more competitive so things like
the best you know GPS collars and things
like that might be a little bit tougher
but you can like review the product
simply in a simple talking head format
relationships YouTube huge opportunity
there to sell courses on YouTube about
relationships and speak to people and
really engage with an audience DIY do it
yourself power tools things like that
actually not that competitive when it
comes to blogging right like um you can
find a lot of random power tools and
random projects that people would work
on that aren't competitive woodworking
stuff you could still rank on Google
finding easier keywords but also pivot
to YouTube doing teaching on how to
build stuff how to do things is super
valuable if you're in science do YouTube
that's where all the science channels
are you can get ad Revenue get tons of
views so the good news is you can still
do SEO right we just have to Pivot the
strategy a little bit and then think
about based on your Niche based on where
you're at what's the pivot what's the
secondary platform that you can do
because we all want to make money here
right and I think just putting all your
eggs in the Google basket is not the
best option based on what's happened
over the last 12 months so SEO is a good
traffic Source but it is not the only
one so if you're interested in learning
