as much as other types of monetization

play00:56

monetization methods for his sites we

has been hit of late or is still growing

play01:10

play01:12

good luck and enjoy all right welcome

play01:14

back to the niche Pursuits podcast my

play01:16

name is Jared Balman and today we are

play01:18

joined by Brian Wham Brian how you doing

play01:21

very good Jared thanks for having me on

play01:22

today much appreciate it yeah excited

play01:25

for today we're talking uh about your uh

play01:29

basically we're going to get into the

play01:30

details and into the Weeds about your

play01:32

process for building websites and and

play01:34

and talk through kind of some of the

play01:35

successful strategies you utilize before

play01:37

we uh before we get into it we usually

play01:39

you know like to hear your backstory a

play01:41

little bit about you why don't you tell

play01:42

us more about uh about who you are sure

play01:44

sure no problem so my name is Brian Wham

play01:47

I'm an agency owner in New York I live

play01:49

in Long Ireland uh Partners in two

play01:51

different agencies actually Max burst

play01:53

web design which is the web design end

play01:56

of the business and then Max places

play01:57

which is the digital marketing arm so

play01:59

I'm the partner of that mostly in charge

play02:00

of that stuff we've been around since

play02:03

2007 at this point so we've been around

play02:05

for quite a while and I also like to do

play02:08

a lot of stuff outside of the agency and

play02:09

the uh the affiliate marketing game

play02:11

Google News type stuff and everything

play02:12

else primarily what I wanted to talk

play02:14

about today but um yeah so I've been in

play02:17

digital marketing for you know 20 plus

play02:19

years started doing uh affiliate

play02:22

marketing back in the late '90s early

play02:25

2000s back in the day when I was getting

play02:27

paper checks in the mail for promoting

play02:29

credit card offers and things like that

play02:31

so I've been been in love with it ever

play02:33

since and it's uh you know been a big

play02:34

part of my life every step along the way

play02:36

since then man affiliate marketing in

play02:39

the late 90s must have been a totally

play02:41

different ball game it was yeah yeah

play02:43

there was nothing like you know worried

play02:45

about backlinks all that crap just you

play02:46

know keyboard stuff the hell out of the

play02:47

pages you know off for running and there

play02:49

you go it great just incra the HTML

play02:52

Builders push it out as much as you can

play02:53

and you'll see what happens and then all

play02:55

of a sudden you get paper checks and the

play02:56

mail out of the

play02:58

blue well were the big uh like what were

play03:00

the big affiliate marketing platforms

play03:02

back at that time couldn't even tell you

play03:04

up top my head don't even remember it's

play03:06

all a blur at this

play03:07

point don't blame yet yeah that that was

play03:09

that was a while ago well um today we're

play03:12

talking about kind of more specifically

play03:14

your website building that you do your

play03:15

affiliate marketing um you know we'll

play03:17

table the agency side of things although

play03:18

I'm sure a lot of what you're going to

play03:19

talk about is applicable to that side of

play03:22

the business but why don't you set the

play03:23

stage for what we'll be discussing today

play03:26

in terms of your website websites plural

play03:29

and then we can use that to kind of

play03:30

launch off yeah sure so about six years

play03:34

ago I had done a presentation at a um

play03:38

small gathering in Las Vegas that

play03:40

Stephen Kang ran uh 31 Flavors event so

play03:43

it's just a bunch of marketers and the

play03:45

whole goal of it was everyone had to get

play03:46

there and present something so you had

play03:48

to share something to the group I was

play03:50

kind of struggling on what I was going

play03:51

to talk about both myself and one my

play03:53

partners were going out there to kind of

play03:55

do our do our thing network with people

play03:58

to figure out what we're going to you

play03:59

know present so at the time I had been

play04:03

in the process of really kind of taking

play04:06

what was kind of our bread and butter

play04:07

our pbns at that point and kind of

play04:08

taking them to the next level I mean you

play04:10

know back in you know 2013 2014 that

play04:13

point we were really ranking everything

play04:16

with pbn I mean that was you know our

play04:18

our primary strategy for helping our

play04:19

client sites and everything else but my

play04:22

goal always

play04:23

was how do I make these a business asset

play04:26

in of themselves not just these

play04:28

depreciating assets with the edns just

play04:30

lose power over time pretty much good

play04:32

for one thing and that's it so what can

play04:33

I do above and beyond that to make these

play04:36

true business assets so what I started

play04:39

doing back then was building these out

play04:41

as a as a Google News Network getting

play04:43

them all approved for Google News uh for

play04:45

indexing purposes for Authority purposes

play04:47

and everything else and starting to get

play04:50

some traffic coming in so I can monetize

play04:51

it with display ads selling guest posts

play04:54

and things like that and really making

play04:56

these websites that I can flip down the

play04:57

road um outside of the agency

play05:00

as a like I said as a complete business

play05:02

asset so that's why I decided to speak

play05:05

uh speak on when I went to this

play05:06

conference which kind of my my process

play05:08

and how to really get approved for for

play05:09

Google news and there really wasn't much

play05:11

out there at the time I think there was

play05:12

maybe one or two videos on YouTube I

play05:15

couldn't really even understand with the

play05:16

accents and everything what they were

play05:17

talking about so I kind of had a reverse

play05:19

engineer figure out how to get approved

play05:21

and I went through an entire process I

play05:23

actually had some great conversations

play05:24

with the actual Google News approval

play05:27

staff you know they were they were

play05:28

manually looking at everything at that

play05:29

Point time was a lot tougher back then

play05:31

than it is now so I got a lot of great

play05:34

feedback from these people was able to

play05:35

kind of put together a process or I was

play05:37

able to get all my sites approved and uh

play05:40

that's been working for me ever since

play05:42

about I guess a year ago at this point

play05:44

March April last year there was a a big

play05:46

Google new sweep where they cleaned out

play05:49

a lot of stamp sites from Google new I

play05:51

mean I've done hundreds if not thousands

play05:53

of sites at this point and I didn't have

play05:54

a single one removed so I've had I've

play05:56

kind of got it down pat where I've got

play05:58

these sites in there they they pass

play05:59

every manual approval process that's

play06:02

kind of where I started kind of talking

play06:04

about how to get that done take it to

play06:05

the next level and create those pbn as

play06:07

real business assets and I've just been

play06:09

layering monetization strategy on top of

play06:11

the pent which is kind of the uh my

play06:13

focus outside dat to actually teach a

play06:15

course about kind of stacking Authority

play06:17

stacking trust and being able to

play06:18

monetize it across tons of different

play06:20

platforms really building out either

play06:22

standal on Niche sites or or retire

to get $15 off maybe describe a typical

play07:40

site that's in your portfolio so people

play07:41

can get their minded around it a lot of

play07:43

people listening are familiar and maybe

play07:45

working on a Content site or what they

play07:47

call a Content site uh primarily driven

play07:51

by advertising uh revenue and or

play07:54

affiliate Revenue uh a lot of people are

play07:56

dabbling a lot of other things but maybe

play07:58

describe a typical site in your network

play08:00

and then if you could let's address the

play08:02

elephant in the room how are they doing

play08:04

in the last 6 to nine months with the

play08:06

hcu and the Google core updates that

play08:08

have come since then Etc yeah sure so of

play08:12

course so typical I have a couple

play08:14

different ways that I do this uh two

play08:16

different ways one is more of a generic

play08:18

news sites you know where I'm building

play08:19

them out to kind of be a a jack roll

play08:22

trade kind of the Swiss army knife or I

play08:23

can really use it for anything I want so

play08:26

I'll primarily create a um just a

play08:28

general news site can be a I use

play08:30

sometimes I use a brand new domain

play08:32

sometimes I use an age domain that I

play08:33

pick up um kind of whatever I have in my

play08:36

portfolio at that point and I'll build

play08:38

it out for all the different categories

play08:40

I'll have a you know a finance category

play08:41

a health category legal category

play08:43

whatever it may be and I'm just pulling

play08:45

in news from all over the place and then

play08:47

within those specific categories I can

play08:49

Niche down and create solid what

play08:51

whatever whatever I'm really trying to

play08:52

promote at that particular point or use

play08:55

I'll BR my client sites whatever I need

play08:56

to uh and then I monetize it with uh

play09:00

um basically with a couple different

play09:02

methods in that case so that the generic

play09:05

news sites are really monetized a lot

play09:07

with the display ads I do a lot of

play09:10

Amazon type stuff in

play09:12

there I'll mix in a you know bunch of

play09:15

Niche specific product reviews and then

play09:17

then tons of guest posts like for

play09:19

example the the guest post site I built

play09:22

out you any take a Peak at is my site I

play09:24

kind of use for uh for testing purposes

play09:27

and I actually built it specifically for

play09:28

that Stephen Kang convers I mentioned

play09:30

it's called Freepress directory.com guys

play09:33

feel free to check it out pick it apart

play09:36

but that's a good example of kind of how

play09:37

I structure these generic news sites um

play09:41

and one of my big big monetization

play09:43

techniques for that is the guest posts

play09:45

and I found the easiest way where I can

play09:47

kind of monetize monetize them overnight

play09:50

uh even though people tell you not to do

play09:51

this to build out these right FR Pages

play09:54

you know right for us in the accounting

play09:55

category the finance category the legal

play09:57

category I built dozens of you pages on

play09:59

these particular sites and kind of the

play10:02

secret sauce is dropping in a table with

play10:04

all the um search operators for that

play10:07

particular Niche so right for us plus

play10:09

County you know accepting guest post

play10:11

plus County so I drop on a table of

play10:13

every single search operator that

play10:14

someone would use to find guest Post in

play10:15

that particular Niche put in at right

play10:18

for us post and I start getting traffic

play10:19

overnight getting requests overnight

play10:22

that particular website that I just

play10:24

mentioned uh Free Press directory again

play10:27

it's just for testing purposes I haven't

play10:28

really used it forever um I just test

play10:31

things on it periodically but I still

play10:32

get guest post requests probably about

play10:34

50 per day uh 20 anywhere between 25 and

play10:37

50 per day sa for that particular site

play10:40

just because I have dozens and dozens of

play10:41

these pages and they all have a table

play10:43

with different search operators for all

play10:45

the different nich specific keyword that

play10:46

someone would use to find guest posted

play10:49

opportunities so then I can negotiate

play10:52

you know 10 bucks 20 bucks 50 books 100

play10:54

books depending on how powerful the site

play10:55

is to really monetize it so I find that

play10:58

to be the quickest and easy way to

play10:59

monetize it I'm building out a network

play11:01

of those and then you start getting

play11:03

traffic that

play11:04

way and uh it's just kind of a Snowball

play11:07

Effect you know you're getting more

play11:08

traffic getting more rankings getting

play11:10

more guest Pro requests and then you're

play11:12

be able to monetize it a lot better with

play11:14

the um with the other methods with

play11:16

Amazon or display ads or anything else

play11:18

you want to do from there and then they

play11:20

also build out the really nich specific

play11:24

U Authority sites you know whether it's

play11:26

about parenting or a mommy blog or

play11:27

something like that or

play11:30

uh you know it could be anything could

play11:32

be celebrities you know whatever it may

play11:33

be um but you know kind of the same

play11:35

process where um um you know basically

play11:38

I'm just really looking for tons and

play11:41

tons of opportunity with um low you know

play11:45

low competition keywords but tons and

play11:47

tons of search volume you know where I

play11:49

can just kind of push out a topical

play11:51

Authority map of all that type of

play11:53

content then all I'm doing is really

play11:55

just slamming with the you know

play11:56

Rewritten paa questions just creating

play11:58

posts around that and pushing you out oh

play12:00

an open over account again monetizing at

play12:02

the uh display ads and

play12:05

um the Amazon stuff and guest Pro

play12:08

requests and everything else and uh

play12:10

that's kind of my my two ways of doing

play12:12

it the the news network is kind of more

play12:14

the agency into things and then the uh

play12:18

know the authority specific n Authority

play12:20

sit I kind of for my own stuff my own

play12:22

purposes that's kind of I'm structuring

play12:24

them how many do you have and and you

play12:28

know again maybe I like the I like the

play12:29

the way you've bucketed them like the

play12:31

the more news focused and then the more

play12:33

Authority site Niche specific Focus like

play12:36

how are these doing post

play12:38

hcu so I haven't had a problem at all

play12:40

with any of them um like I said I the

play12:42

way I kind of structure and stack stack

play12:44

Authority on these sites um I like to

play12:48

think it's bulletproof I know it's not

play12:50

there always there's always going to be

play12:52

problems cro cropping up but I try to

play12:54

satisfy the Google you know quality

play12:56

raater guidelines as best as I can and

play12:59

just making sure that I'm really kind of

play13:00

making my um my sites display that

play13:03

expertise that Authority and trust you

play13:05

know as best as possible for all

play13:07

different uh techniques and strategies

play13:09

whether it's the content itself the way

play13:11

the site is structured the way uh ail of

play13:13

author personel is and everything else I

play13:17

haven't lost any traffic haven't had any

play13:19

traps haven't had any

play13:21

problems um we

play13:24

have so a buddy of mine he's using the

play13:27

same things that I teach in my course

play13:28

and everything El has a site that's

play13:30

probably making $500,000 a month in the

play13:34

celebrity Niche hadn't dropped it all

play13:36

doing the same stuff that I'm doing we

play13:38

have sites that are making you know 10

play13:40

20 $30,000 a month and I haven't dropped

play13:43

it haven't dropped it at all whatsoever

play13:45

any a client sit that are using these

play13:47

techniques on are still growing after

play13:49

all the updates so not a problem I

play13:51

haven't seen any dips any drops at all

play13:53

you know like usual little ups and downs

play13:54

but long term you know up and at them so

play13:57

can't complain

play13:59

let's get into some of those items

play14:01

because I think a lot of people feel

play14:03

like the entire model is under attack

play14:06

like as soon as you look to be a Content

play14:09

site or a niche site or an authority

play14:11

site as soon as you look like one in the

play14:14

serps you're the the model is under

play14:16

attack you seem to be uh St a star

play14:19

contrast to that I I've heard you say

play14:21

things like stacking Authority following

play14:24

Google quality radar guidelines like

play14:25

let's unpack some of the things perhaps

play14:28

that you're doing that you think are

play14:30

really applicable to the success of

play14:32

these sites especially over the last

play14:33

year or so

play14:35

sure so and you know one of the big

play14:37

things here you you're talking about

play14:38

like I said it seems to be under attack

play14:41

um a lot of people talking about AI

play14:44

content how it's you know you if you're

play14:45

pushing out AI content you're just going

play14:47

to get shot down it's never going to

play14:48

wreck never going to do anything and to

play14:50

be honest all my authority side to done

play14:51

be AI I'm primarily using things like

play14:54

like Zim writer or content Sprout push

play14:56

out my content like Zim writer for

play14:58

example I actually used the built-in

play15:00

topical Authority generator just to

play15:02

generate the kind of a baseline of

play15:04

topical Authority for my particular site

play15:06

my particular Niche while push out you

play15:08

know over the course of the first couple

play15:10

months you know maybe a few hundred

play15:11

articles um just to you build out the

play15:14

topical author answer as many questions

play15:16

as I can and then I start dripping in uh

play15:18

paa content is kind of um supporting

play15:22

content creating tons of internal links

play15:24

to all the other other uh other content

play15:26

that's already there and then I start

play15:28

dripping in money articles after that

play15:30

but I'm just making sure that the site

play15:33

is structured properly a it looks the

play15:35

part I wanted to be that if they're

play15:39

doing a manual review uh and they do do

play15:41

it periodically I mean we've seen that

play15:43

like I said with that last Google Google

play15:44

news update you know they are reviewing

play15:46

these uh periodically so the first thing

play15:49

I want to do is make sure my site looks

play15:50

like a new site it looks like a a high

play15:52

Authority blog site like some money been

play15:54

put into it you know so you make sure

play15:57

the

play15:59

uh you know some sort of magazine type

play16:01

theme that looks really professional

play16:03

high-end logo um stock or AI generated

play16:06

images that actually looked theart

play16:08

building out specific author personas

play16:10

for each and every category each and

play16:11

every website that really kind of

play16:13

support the toex and had the experience

play16:15

behind them my AI content is not just

play16:18

getting pushed in automatically for the

play16:20

most part you know I do use in writer

play16:23

actually create schedule everything but

play16:25

am actually going in reviewing

play16:26

everything ahead of time and maybe using

play16:28

horo to kind of clean things up the a

play16:30

little fact

play16:31

checking

play16:33

um you know using things like grammarly

play16:35

just to clean it up a little bit make

play16:37

sure everything looks the part that it's

play16:38

you know it's well written and you know

play16:39

people going read through it and um a

play16:42

big thing that I found is honestly

play16:43

dumbing it Down based on your audience

play16:46

so for example a celebrity site if I

play16:49

want to reach the widest possible

play16:50

audience kind of the lowest common

play16:52

denominator in that in that particular

play16:54

Niche I'm dumbing it down to like a you

play16:56

know third fourth fifth grade level you

play16:58

know really short words and you know

play17:00

small paragraphs and sentences and

play17:01

things like that whereas if I'm going in

play17:04

in a legal Niche or something like that

play17:05

you know I can smarten it up a little

play17:06

bit maybe get into the high school grade

play17:08

level or something like that but I'm

play17:10

matching the uh the way the content is

play17:13

written to in my audience and doing it

play17:14

that way I think that helps a lot I'm

play17:17

not just throwing it all out there and

play17:19

you know kind of seeing what sticks I'm

play17:21

making sure that I'm paying attention

play17:22

it's getting pushed and automatically it

play17:23

is created be AI but there is a little

play17:26

human element of cleaning it up a little

play17:27

bit and then Larry and those other

play17:29

things on top of it like for example my

play17:32

my authors that I build out some of them

play17:34

are real people you know you know some

play17:36

of them um like for example I will uh

play17:39

sometimes work with Lo local college

play17:41

students and their professors to kind of

play17:43

contribute because gu ORS on my on like

play17:46

some of my topics and things like that

play17:48

so they're real people that have you

play17:49

know kind of inherent trust and and

play17:51

Authority already they're guess posting

play17:53

on my websites but the personas I'm

play17:55

building out these people are all they

play17:58

Google local guides so they're approved

play18:00

Google local guide accounts they are you

play18:01

know functioning out there leading

play18:03

reviews and leaking map edits and things

play18:04

like that uh for the most part they are

play18:08

uh listed as Google Scholars as well so

play18:10

they you know they have Google Scholar

play18:12

profiles they have all the requisite

play18:14

social profiles for themselves um I'm

play18:17

publishing Amazon eBooks on their behalf

play18:20

that every once in a while will get like

play18:21

70 cents and then you know it deposit in

play18:23

my bank account only fre book sold so

play18:26

another shorts of income y uh um I'm

play18:29

doing a lot of the AI generated podcast

play18:31

and things for them uh they are guest

play18:33

posting on other websites throughout my

play18:35

network and um uh other third party

play18:38

websites as well so they're really kind

play18:40

of fleing the fort and you know being

play18:42

active authors not just in life site but

play18:44

all over the place where it's Soul so

play18:45

with its third party websites and other

play18:48

mediums too um and then I'm just making

play18:51

sure that I'm kind of you know following

play18:53

the digity method where eat a lot of

play18:55

that is backlinks so I'm having a thot

play18:57

backlinks and I have a couple specific

play19:00

types of uh what I like to call Catalyst

play19:03

content that really really helps me with

play19:06

that and kind of really Powers up my

play19:08

site it's bringing me a lot of brand

play19:11

name traffic coming in right away which

play19:13

I think is huge so I'm getting brand

play19:15

traffic coming in I'm not just looking

play19:16

for this this keyword based traffic

play19:18

right out of the gate I'm making sure

play19:19

I'm satisfying that brand search

play19:20

requirement I'm getting that coming in

play19:22

right out of the gate I'm getting expert

play19:24

contributors coming into me for free I'm

play19:27

getting free backlinks Free Press releas

play19:28

releases ref press mentions uh tons of

play19:31

little things just based on this type of

play19:33

content so it's really a kind of a a

play19:36

combination of the the way I structure

play19:38

the content the way uh I'm building out

play19:40

these author personas and then a couple

play19:41

of types of what I call the Catalyst

play19:43

content that's kind of really the cherry

play19:45

on top and raising some of those other

play19:47

requirements that you know Google's

play19:49

really looking for I'm getting brand

play19:51

traffic I'm getting social traffic I'm

play19:53

getting like I said the press press

play19:55

release press mentions and everything

play19:56

else coming in right out of the gate

play19:58

let's I I have a lot of notes and so I'm

play20:00

going to I'm going to I'm going to

play20:01

Pepper you with questions about what you

play20:03

just overviewed let's start with this if

play20:05

I could with a catalyst content and

play20:07

maybe dive deeper into that because I

play20:10

think a lot of people uh understand how

play20:13

to go after keywords that have a

play20:16

combination of low competition and

play20:18

perhaps high high search volume and you

play20:21

know people are kind of familiar with

play20:22

that but you you talk about getting

play20:23

brand traffic right out of the gate you

play20:25

talk about getting social traffic out of

play20:26

the gate you talk about all these

play20:27

different types of traffic that you're

play20:29

creating um maybe walk through what

play20:31

you're referring to as Catalyst content

play20:34

sure and I think this is the separator I

play20:36

think if Google is going after you know

play20:38

people complaining they're going after

play20:39

nich sites and nich site specifically or

play20:41

something like that they're looking at

play20:43

these sites they're all they're doing is

play20:44

pushing out AI content or you know you

play20:46

know maybe human reviewed AI content but

play20:49

they're specifically going there to just

play20:50

the the informational the commercial

play20:52

pipe keywords and things like that

play20:54

they're not bringing in the other types

play20:55

of traffic that they should be that the

play20:57

true authorities that would have with

play20:58

just tons and tons of social shares

play21:00

brand name search recognition and

play21:02

everything else so the way I do it is uh

play21:05

using a couple different platforms uh

play21:07

one of the things I'm doing really

play21:09

really successfully lately both for

play21:11

myself and for my clients and has been

play21:12

kind the game changer is taking

play21:14

advantage of Reddit traffic you know the

play21:16

little Lo's Reddit so specifically with

play21:19

that what I'm doing is uh Reddit has a

play21:23

specific post type um you know a poll

play21:26

you can run a Reddit poll and this is

play21:28

just a sing question single multiple

play21:30

choice question you can run a string of

play21:32

these you can run one single question

play21:33

whatever it may be so basically all I'm

play21:35

doing is I'm going into uh subreddits

play21:38

like uh you know

play21:41

reddit.com which is basically a

play21:42

community of hundreds of thousands of

play21:44

people and all they do is take polls all

play21:46

day so you can post a poll on there and

play21:48

get hundreds of thousands of responses

play21:50

within hours and days so I will go in

play21:53

there uh create a poll around a

play21:56

particular topic that I want to you know

play21:57

get some interest

play21:59

in there will be a mention of my brand

play22:02

name or my website in there so people

play22:04

are going to honestly go right out of

play22:05

the gate you know maybe Google my brand

play22:07

name Google my name or something like

play22:09

that you know take a peek at at the

play22:10

website you know outside RIT itself so

play22:12

I'm getting a little bit of traffic that

play22:14

way a little bit of brand search that

play22:15

way and then I'm getting you know kind

play22:18

of real live feedback real live data

play22:20

from people about a spe specific topic

play22:22

I'm getting that survey uh content and

play22:25

then I'm just taking that content and

play22:26

saying I go and write the chat GPT

play22:28

whatever AI program we using and saying

play22:30

hey here's the results of the survey

play22:32

this was the question this was the

play22:33

survey what can we draw from this you

play22:36

what kind of speaking points can we take

play22:38

out of these survey results and living

play22:41

AI do all the hard work I don't do

play22:42

anything I don't even think about it I

play22:43

said they here here's results spit out

play22:46

the uh the take the key takeaways that

play22:48

we can kind of uh you know correlate

play22:50

from all this and now take that

play22:52

information and create an article

play22:54

outline for me okay now take that

play22:55

information you create a blog article

play22:57

for me boom I then that's do anything

play22:59

think about it then I'm taking that

play23:02

posting it on my website and embedding

play23:04

the actual Reddit survey in there right

play23:06

under of the gate which is has been

play23:07

really helpful I've seen one I started

play23:09

doing that that was kind of a uh a big

play23:12

thing so I have an AI generated um

play23:15

article completely about real people

play23:17

real survey results real numbers that

play23:20

Google seems to love I'm able sometimes

play23:23

within the comments of these surveys to

play23:24

take different um you know different

play23:27

quotes and things from different people

play23:28

kind of sprinkle them in them in as well

play23:31

and uh that's been really really great

play23:32

so whatever I need to talk about

play23:34

whatever topics I want to talk about I

play23:36

can go to different subreddits I can go

play23:38

to Facebook groups and do the same exact

play23:40

thing um I can string together two or

play23:43

three different questions and create you

play23:45

know an even longer article I've even

play23:47

used another way I've done this before

play23:49

is using like thirdparty survey tools

play23:51

where you kind of embeding it embedding

play23:53

the poll on your website itself I'll

play23:56

just Crea a link within Reddit to it

play23:57

where I can know Facebook but they can

play23:59

actually go to your website so I'm

play24:01

driving traffic from right to Facebook

play24:02

to the survey on my site you're going to

play24:05

get less responses that way but you are

play24:06

driving the traffic to your site the

play24:07

social traffic they're taking the survey

play24:11

uh the survey is set up on the actual

play24:13

blog article URL but it will be uh

play24:16

ultimately so basically and then once

play24:18

the survey is done I'm taking down the

play24:20

survey in bed and actually putting up

play24:21

the real article itself and everything's

play24:23

done so that URL is been getting social

play24:26

traffic all along to it uh just based on

play24:28

driving people from RIT or Facebook to

play24:30

their uh to those particular things so

play24:32

that's the first type of catalyst

play24:34

content that's working super well for

play24:36

and it's been great um once it's done

play24:39

once the article's up and running then

play24:40

I'm going to you know X or you know

play24:43

Twitter it used to be called Twitter and

play24:45

uh using the journal request hashtag to

play24:48

find you know journalists in that

play24:49

particular Niche would be interested in

play24:51

me to be quoting that article or reading

play24:53

an article or sharing it for me whatever

play24:54

it may be and doing a little traditional

play24:56

more you know more PR push getting it

play24:58

out there so I've gotten social traffic

play25:00

coming in from renit or from Facebook

play25:02

you I've got a uh you know an article

play25:05

with you know some real uh some real

play25:07

numbers that Google actually loves you

play25:09

know some real um you know human

play25:11

generated know survey questions and

play25:13

topics and answers and everything else

play25:15

and then I've got the uh the journalists

play25:17

after the fact you know are they quoting

play25:18

me sometimes reaching out to my clients

play25:20

for a quote or me for a quote and uh you

play25:23

know really helping us kind of do the uh

play25:24

the aftermarket push for that so that's

play25:27

that's been really really really great

play25:29

lately I think that's kind of one of the

play25:30

the separators from just the traditional

play25:33

uh you know nich Authority sites is

play25:34

getting that brand traffic getting that

play25:37

um that social traffic and everything

play25:39

else um and then there's another type of

play25:43

catalyst content that I've kind of

play25:45

taught forever and that's kind of the

play25:47

reverse Harrow method and this is what I

play25:49

first started doing when I first started

play25:51

getting the

play25:53

um the uh the Google News sites approved

play25:57

uh you know back like 2016 2014 2015

play26:00

2016 I needed a quick way to generate

play26:03

authoritative

play26:04

content so you know we've all used har a

play26:07

lot of us have used har for the most

play26:09

part for getting backlinks for ourselves

play26:10

or clients you know we go in the area

play26:11

into one of queries hopefully this is

play26:13

this you know they select us and you

play26:15

know they'll print our quote with our

play26:17

name and Link back to our website and

play26:19

you know it is what it is so I went the

play26:21

other way where I was actually getting

play26:23

my news sites approved as the um you

play26:26

know the outlets themselves you know my

play26:27

authors were one that that were

play26:29

soliciting these requests so I put a

play26:31

request about a particular article like

play26:33

you know what are your top um you know

play26:35

g&b tips and tricks for you know

play26:37

promoting a local dental office or

play26:39

something like that and overnight i' get

play26:41

you know 40 50 different um people

play26:44

submitting their their input to me about

play26:46

what their tips and tricks were and all

play26:48

I literally was doing was copying and

play26:50

pasting know best 10 12 15 whatever it

play26:52

is and boom instant Round Up article

play26:54

didn't have to do anything maybe I

play26:55

create a little intro a little outro and

play26:57

then it's just a uh you know listicle

play26:59

and that's it copy and paste boom soon

play27:01

as that goes up I notify the people that

play27:03

they were mentioned then they're sending

play27:05

me back links they're putting me in

play27:07

their you know in the Press sections on

play27:08

their own website they're you know

play27:10

mentioning me in their own press

play27:11

releases sharing me across social and

play27:13

everything else when my query first went

play27:16

up on Harrow again they were going in

play27:19

there they were Googling my my website

play27:21

to see if it's something they want to be

play27:22

mentioned in so I'm getting the brand

play27:24

searches right out of the gate and and

play27:26

getting through looking through the

play27:27

websites looking through the different

play27:28

types of Articles and everything else

play27:30

and spending some time on there so I'm

play27:32

getting social traffic I'm getting brand

play27:33

searches I'm getting a little bit of

play27:35

everything and then again I'm getting

play27:37

the benefit of what all these you know

play27:39

experts are that are contributing to my

play27:41

website then you know eventually they

play27:43

they want to contribute other things and

play27:44

you know we got another article for you

play27:46

would like to put on your website so you

play27:48

I'm just generating the uh a roster of

play27:51

guest authors that I can you know

play27:52

leverage down the road for different

play27:54

things and go from there um but again

play27:57

it's social traffic it's brand search

play28:00

and that's kind of really been the

play28:01

seator for me on my website so kind of

play28:03

keep them the bulletproof as possible

play28:05

I'm not just real line and that shice

play28:07

traffic coming in based on you know the

play28:09

money content or my uh you know my paa

play28:11

questions and I'm answering and

play28:13

everything else I really want to make

play28:15

sure getting Google exact people that's

play28:16

looking for they would expect to see

play28:17

these bigger Authority sites tons of

play28:20

brand search and tons of social traffic

play28:22

that's what they get hey everyone

use the code podcast and get $15 off

play29:12

your purchase if you were to maybe look

play29:14

at one of the sites in your portfolio

play29:16

and kind of break it down a bit what

play29:18

percentage of your overall traffic is

play29:21

search versus brand versus social like

play29:24

what kind of percentages do this does

play29:26

does that end up equating to initially

play29:28

it's a lot of Social and brand search

play29:30

but then it it flips dramatically to

play29:32

tons and tons of search right where just

play29:34

freakling any the other stuff but

play29:35

initially it's most of search and and

play29:37

brand name over the first few months and

play29:39

then once it start to pick up steam you

play29:41

know I'm pushing out those articles then

play29:43

it flips dramatically to where it's you

play29:44

know you know 95% you know just the

play29:47

organic search Tropic coming in you're

play29:49

doing this stuffing and that type of

play29:51

stuff over time right yeah well that

play29:53

makes sense the search will grow over

play29:54

time especially as you build that

play29:55

Authority um are you is this a a process

play29:58

you're kind of always doing for Content

play30:00

or does it have phases you go through

play30:02

it's heavy on the initial site creation

play30:04

and then you taper it off or are you

play30:07

always pretty much investing in some of

play30:08

these content Catalyst type topics that

play30:10

you went through yeah it's obviously he

play30:13

in the beginning you know I want to kind

play30:14

of get that balling create that Snowball

play30:16

Effect but I'm always sprinkling it in I

play30:17

never stop I always want to keep that

play30:19

going just make sure that

play30:21

um said I want to make sure that if if I

play30:26

were ever to have to kind of passing the

play30:28

annual review that they see me kind of

play30:30

actively doing that type of stuff

play30:31

promoting that type of stuff bringing in

play30:33

outside expert sources and uh you know

play30:36

creating this valuable piece of content

play30:37

with real surveys real results from real

play30:39

people and uh making sure that's all

play30:41

there so I'm definitely sprinking that

play30:43

sprinkling that through every single

play30:44

month it might be one or two pieces

play30:46

might be you know 10 pieces in the

play30:48

beginning whatever whatever it turns out

play30:49

to be depending on how competitive that

play30:51

Niche is going to be right social media

play30:53

wise are you doing anything else with

play30:55

social media to drive traffic are you

play30:57

creating uh Facebook group are you

play30:59

posting regularly on social with some of

play31:01

the Articles you're publishing um doing

play31:03

any social media

play31:04

advertising uh or any anything other

play31:07

thing I didn't even mention no for the

play31:09

most part that's it I'm just letting

play31:10

everything do to work for me letting

play31:12

these Third Party Experts and Reddit in

play31:14

Facebook and you know them go for lotion

play31:16

for me and that's it and then I'm just

play31:17

relying on the search traffic coming in

play31:18

after

play31:19

that let's uh go back to what you talked

play31:23

about with authorship and all of the

play31:26

lengths you're going to when it comes to

play31:28

your authors I mean I have notes Here uh

play31:31

you know you work with Google local

play31:32

guides um Google Scholars uh publishing

play31:35

ebooks guest posting on other sites with

play31:38

that author uh even having them as

play31:40

podcasts guests and probably a few other

play31:42

things that you mentioned um H how much

play31:46

extra work is all that how much does

play31:48

that require out of you because it

play31:49

sounds like a lot of work but it sounds

play31:51

also like it's a pretty vital part of

play31:52

your strategy it is it is a lot of work

play31:55

uh which is why I primarily do it for

play31:58

the you know what I consider the editors

play31:59

and chief on these particular sites like

play32:02

I will have multiple authors for each

play32:03

particular site but I won't go as deep

play32:05

down the rabbit hole with every single

play32:06

author on the website I'm really making

play32:09

that editor and chief who you mention on

play32:10

the homepage and then footer of the

play32:12

websites and everything else and you

play32:13

know they have their own about page I'm

play32:15

really making sure that they they have

play32:16

all that stuff in place so if I

play32:19

personally have you know a few dozen

play32:21

websites and I'm that I'm working on

play32:23

currently that I have you know my VA

play32:25

working on that stuff and building that

play32:26

stuff out wishing not uh

play32:29

that type of uh you know social activity

play32:31

for my my author my editors and the you

play32:33

making them look the part and uh thank

play32:36

God AI now I can kind of put R to Qui

play32:40

that I ever did in the past you know

play32:42

without having to you spin rewrite or

play32:43

anything else like we were doing

play32:45

previously the general concept is is to

play32:48

make each of these authors kind of an

play32:50

expert in Google's eyes through you know

play32:53

Footprints basically I mean can you

play32:55

explain though more in depth the concept

play32:57

there so everybody listen kind of

play32:58

understands why you're going to all

play32:59

these links with all this extra work for

play33:02

your at least your editors you know at

play33:04

least some of your high-profile authors

play33:06

yep yeah sure so basically I want to

play33:08

satisfy the requirements you know so

play33:10

we're looking at you know um expertise

play33:14

experience Authority and Trust I want to

play33:16

demonstrate that and not that I

play33:17

necessarily think it's a direct ranking

play33:19

require uh you know uh requirement or

play33:21

anything like that like they're not

play33:23

specifically rewarding me just for what

play33:25

I'm doing on

play33:26

here but I like to stack trust and bake

play33:30

that trust and Authority in from day one

play33:32

so I want to make sure that we are you

play33:36

know like like I said demonstrating some

play33:39

sort of level of expertise and Authority

play33:41

with the uh with these with these pelas

play33:43

building them out um making sure that

play33:45

they are showing the knowledge of the

play33:48

you know whatever topics that they're

play33:49

speaking about whatever the site is

play33:51

about and making sure that I'm tying

play33:53

everything together it's completely

play33:54

visible at Google like I'm making sure

play33:56

that the scheme of my author schem for

play33:58

that particular author profile page

play34:00

pulls in everything pulls in all their

play34:02

social profiles pulls in all their guest

play34:04

post that they've you know guest auth on

play34:06

other websites you know um maybe take a

play34:09

picked up on on IMDb for a podcast or

play34:11

something like that you know that'll

play34:13

mentioning that that in there uh just

play34:16

maybe creating a road map for gole to

play34:17

see how widespread this person is and

play34:20

how authoritative you should just make

play34:22

it easy as possible gole to kind of tie

play34:25

everything together without me having to

play34:26

kind of go out there and you know kind

play34:28

of have them over ahead with it uh like

play34:31

you said it's a lot of work so you might

play34:33

as well kind of make sure that Google

play34:35

knows about it so the goal always is

play34:39

again to bake in that Authority trust

play34:40

right out of the gate make sure that

play34:42

Google can see it and you know they're

play34:44

going to reward you for it and not only

play34:45

that I want it to be for um for for the

play34:51

reader benefit as well um I think in the

play34:53

LA going to help with a lot of times

play34:55

with with conversions with um the site

play34:59

on time and things like that only it

play35:00

looks the part they're seeing these

play35:02

expert contributors and these these

play35:04

expert authors on that particular site

play35:06

maybe they trust it a little more they

play35:07

spend a little more time on the site

play35:09

that they a little deeper they come back

play35:11

you know two three four t rooms whatever

play35:13

it may be it's not only just for ranking

play35:15

purposes that I'm looking for um I'm

play35:17

looking for it to help with conversion

play35:19

purposes to help with uh you know all

play35:21

the user metrics and everything else as

play35:23

well just by kind of taking the trust

play35:24

and everything right out of the gate

play35:26

again just making sure that Google see

play35:27

it all and that's easily easily visible

play35:30

today let's switch to talking about

play35:32

monetization if we could you you already

play35:34

did touch on it a bit but I wanted to

play35:36

kind of dig into some of these

play35:37

strategies you talked about display ads

play35:39

affiliate Revenue um guest posting as a

play35:42

as a revenue opportunity again looking

play35:45

at one of your sites how does that break

play35:47

down typically what's the percentage in

play35:49

terms of total revenue from display ads

play35:51

versus your affiliate earnings versus

play35:55

say that guest post

play35:56

tactic so

play36:00

the um the bigger more specific Mee

play36:05

sites The Authority sites where it's

play36:06

kind of you know Niche down to one

play36:08

particular topic like parenting or

play36:09

something like that I'd say it's almost

play36:12

worked out to be kind of 5050 split

play36:15

between display ads and whatever other

play36:17

type of affiliate monetization usually

play36:19

Amazon or something like that that them

play36:21

I kind of pull in money from them so it

play36:24

worked out to be about 50/50 split that

play36:26

way um

play36:28

the other sites where I have either

play36:30

local news networks or my general news

play36:32

sites or things like that it's really

play36:35

more towards the the guest post end of

play36:37

things and then whatever else I'm using

play36:38

a for viiew on that I try making most of

play36:40

my money the best J money is on the

play36:41

guest post things and uh start to get

play36:44

traffic and you know make some display

play36:46

money but it's definitely skewed towards

play36:48

the guest post things um one of the

play36:51

things I really do with these news

play36:53

networks I build out these branded news

play36:55

networks like I have one called uh

play36:58

us Daily Globe and then I build out a

play37:01

network of 50 different sites so one for

play37:04

each state so I have the US Daily Globe

play37:06

and I have the NY Daily Globe the NJ

play37:08

Daily Globe one for every every state

play37:10

there is and I have a branded News

play37:12

Network each one of these sites has a uh

play37:15

you know a different editorinchief

play37:17

um but they're all primarily

play37:21

republishing the same content the only

play37:23

thing that's different is one specific

play37:25

category that's the local category so

play37:27

something that's related to New York or

play37:29

New Jersey or Connecticut or whatever

play37:30

state I'm talking about at that

play37:32

particular Point um on those types of

play37:35

sites I'm really getting a lot of money

play37:38

doing kind of like um branded PR pushes

play37:41

for clients and selling packages and

play37:43

stuff like that where I can

play37:44

do you know some some sort of you know

play37:47

adoral type content for people you know

play37:49

so I'll sell adoral packages um you know

play37:52

where we can do a deep dive into one of

play37:54

their services or their products or an

play37:56

interview with a founder or one of their

play37:58

employees or something like that and

play38:00

really just kind of control their

play38:01

narrative about their brand um and then

play38:05

we back it up with press releases and

play38:07

everything else so I I sell you know

play38:09

traditional that post where people come

play38:10

to me and hey they want to pitch

play38:11

something to me but I'm also selling

play38:13

these packages where it's actually

play38:15

basically pitching them the guest post

play38:17

you know we're getting interviews and

play38:18

things like that expert interviews and

play38:20

AD tuttorials about their companies and

play38:22

and mity it that way as well or I'll

play38:25

building a um kind of build kind of a

play38:27

high site or build a new site with a

play38:29

directory in it and then I will just

play38:31

basically straple the Google Maps

play38:33

listings forever n I'm in import all

play38:35

those listings already and then now I

play38:37

have a uh an entire bunch of people that

play38:39

I can reach out to right out of the gate

play38:41

basically have a built-in lead Network

play38:43

where I can say Hey you know we have you

play38:45

in a directory we'd like to do a um you

play38:48

know a featured article about you so now

play38:50

I get an expert you know basically

play38:52

contributing content and I send them to

play38:54

a a Google doc where I can answer all

play38:56

the questions and all I do is copy and

play38:57

paste that into an interview style

play38:59

article on the on the uh on the thing

play39:01

and boom it's a news article and I can

play39:03

up upsell in other things other other

play39:05

processes and everything else um I'm

play39:08

also using these news networks as kind

play39:10

of a handoff to my own agency kind of a

play39:12

lead genen for my own

play39:13

agency so I'm doing a lot of like award

play39:17

style articles like hey best New York

play39:19

City divorce attorney 2024 yeah actually

play39:23

I'll actually go out of my way and do

play39:24

these um direct mail to people

play39:27

sometimes if it's a a big Niche I'll

play39:29

actually get a you know one of those

play39:31

Crystal award printed up and mail it to

play39:33

them like hey you won they won the award

play39:34

for 2024 congrats and by the way the

play39:37

reason we chose you was based on uh you

play39:39

know a deep dive that your digital

play39:41

marketing agency did you know did on the

play39:44

lawyers in your uh in your area for

play39:47

visibility and things like that you know

play39:48

here's their their report that they sent

play39:50

you and then you would you like an

play39:51

introduction to them so we're kind of

play39:53

doing a a warm referral from me to me

play39:56

they just don't know it

play39:58

yep so there's tons of ways I can mon I

play40:00

can monetize it and uh it it's just

play40:03

stacking these monetization methods just

play40:05

like I stack the authority and trust and

play40:08

uh always trying new things figuring out

play40:11

ways I can monetize and make more money

play40:12

I'm up I like money so the more that

play40:14

comes in the better the better it is for

play40:16

me it's probably a good time to ask I

play40:18

mean I'm pretty sure everyone listening

play40:20

will have been wondering this in the

play40:22

back of their head I've had on my on my

play40:23

list for a while now so I'll just ask it

play40:25

now how do you accomplish all this how

play40:26

do you get all this done this is a lot

play40:28

of work you've referenced vas and

play40:30

obviously you have a an agency you're a

play40:32

part of so there's got to be some team

play40:33

component there but how do you structure

play40:36

getting all of this stuff accomplished

play40:37

that seems like so much to

play40:40

manage so outside of you know the agency

play40:44

like I said we do have employees and

play40:45

we're a pretty big agency there's not a

play40:47

problem there but outside of the agency

play40:49

if just r on affiliate websites it is a

play40:53

uh a team of va so it's probably

play40:55

depending on the size of the site Maybe

play40:57

two or three vas that manage each each

play40:59

and every site you know someone to kind

play41:01

of manage and oversee everything then

play41:03

really just people to go in there just

play41:04

to make sure that the um like I said

play41:08

they're going through the content with

play41:09

grammarly they're using harpa to you

play41:11

know fact check everything kind of go

play41:12

through there and clean it up making

play41:13

sure that the images that were generated

play41:15

be AI match the 10 to the content and

play41:17

everything else you know replacing me

play41:19

being things like that so two maybe

play41:22

three vas per website um and that's

play41:25

that's all they're doing they're just

play41:25

pushing pushing every day just to make

play41:28

sure that we get the everything

play41:30

published on time and get pushed out

play41:32

there and keep up with everything it

play41:34

it's all AI driven I mean I I do all it

play41:37

it's enough for me where I can spend an

play41:38

entire weekend and just map out the

play41:40

content for months and months and months

play41:42

just give it to them and they just run

play41:43

it through Zen R it's automatically

play41:45

pushed into the schedule for months at a

play41:47

time I don't really have to worry about

play41:48

that um I do a lot of work up front you

play41:52

know like I said I spend the weekend

play41:53

while I'm sitting there watching

play41:54

football or baseball whatever it may be

play41:56

sit there with my laptop get everything

play41:57

set up and queued up for them and then

play41:59

they have their content scheduled for

play42:00

onceth at a time and then they just go

play42:02

you know they have it out every single

play42:04

day talk to the website owner that's

play42:07

listening that has gotten hit by the hcu

play42:10

has seen 80% I'm just making up a number

play42:13

but certainly we've seen people ranging

play42:14

from half their traffic go away to 80%

play42:17

of their traffic go away like you you

play42:19

touched on some of the things that you

play42:21

think they're probably getting wrong but

play42:24

if we could just recircle that again

play42:27

what are some of the big mistakes that

play42:28

you see people

play42:30

making as a that have led to some big

play42:33

traffic losses in the last year or so so

play42:35

me I may be kind of being a little

play42:37

overaggressive on pushing out the a a

play42:39

Content the publishing schedules um we

play42:42

kind of ramp it up a little a little

play42:45

slow um and now and then we get it up to

play42:48

the point where we can kind kind of push

play42:49

anywhere between 24 and 48 articles per

play42:52

day to these websites you know we're

play42:53

publishing every hour every half an hour

play42:55

on some of the bigger websites but we'll

play42:57

start small we only publish you know 50

play43:00

60 articles that first month and you

play43:02

know maybe 100 articles the next month

play43:03

and go from there so we start small uh

play43:06

we make sure it is human reviewed

play43:07

everything's done properly and then I

play43:09

think the big thing is that that

play43:11

Catalyst content I want that search

play43:13

traffic from you know coming in for

play43:16

Branded search and I want that social

play43:17

traffic uh component as well too so I

play43:19

think that's that's what happened um I

play43:22

have worked with a couple people who

play43:24

have gotten hit and we've started to

play43:26

sprinkle in some of that Catalyst type

play43:28

content and we can see it starting to

play43:30

help but not all the way back yet but

play43:32

there is definitely an upturn you know

play43:33

where we're getting that traffic coming

play43:34

in from Reddit getting those branded

play43:36

searches and uh Google's starting to

play43:39

reward them again and pick it back up a

play43:40

little bit so it definitely helps I

play43:42

think that's from what I've seen that's

play43:44

kind of the missing piece it's been that

play43:46

that brand sharish and that that social

play43:47

type search if I were to break down to

play43:51

its most simplest element which

play43:53

obviously what you're doing is not

play43:54

simple I just kind of went on about that

play43:56

but it it from a from a traffic

play43:59

standpoint you're hyperfocused on

play44:00

getting a widespread of traffic uh of

play44:04

types of traffic right so social branded

play44:07

and search and even though search

play44:09

becomes very dominant as a percentage of

play44:11

your traffic as a site grows you're

play44:14

still feeding branded and social traffic

play44:17

to the site on a consistent basis and

play44:19

then you're backing that up with a whole

play44:22

web of authorship that clearly indicates

play44:25

that the people that are respons for the

play44:27

content have a you know a wide Ray of of

play44:31

expertise

play44:32

um I mean from a high level it sounds

play44:35

simple but I think the execution on it

play44:37

is where you really are succeeding on a

play44:39

on a great level yeah exactly so that's

play44:42

and and it's Tak me a while to get there

play44:44

like I said I had the kind of the first

play44:46

piece of the puzzle which was the you

play44:47

know getting the gole loser proov

play44:49

starting to stack in that trust and

play44:50

Authority Google size at least building

play44:52

out those author persons and then uh

play44:55

kind of the real hold where I'm just

play44:56

kind of layering in he figuring out

play44:58

different ways to um get the other types

play45:00

of traffic coming in using those mless

play45:02

content so initially it was kind of that

play45:04

reverse harro method now it's using

play45:07

Harrow switch to connectively just

play45:09

recently it's even easier to get

play45:11

approved than they now you had to jump

play45:13

through you get approved for how before

play45:15

you don't have to now you can sign forab

play45:17

start for one your blog today without

play45:19

any problems now so definitely suggest

play45:21

you start doing that and same thing with

play45:23

Reddit create a Reddit account and start

play45:25

publishing polls you know start getting

play45:27

some data getting some data poll data

play45:29

data Rich blog content running your site

play45:31

right away to your CS to clients your

play45:34

need sites and you know reap the

play45:36

benefits it

play45:37

works I have a few minutes left so let

play45:39

me ask you about Google news and um what

play45:42

tips do you have for people to get

play45:43

approved for that platform and how

play45:46

important do you think it is that a

play45:47

website should focus on that from just a

play45:50

standpoint of growth over time so I

play45:52

don't think it's super important I mean

play45:54

I actually do Consulting for it for some

play45:56

uh

play45:57

um some big clients and things like that

play46:00

as well too getting them approved the

play46:01

Google news I don't think it's super

play46:03

important from a traffic standpoint um

play46:06

it was much much uh kind of a bigger

play46:10

Factor back in the day um really helps

play46:13

with kind of in my case it's really just

play46:15

Authority and uh does help with indexing

play46:19

it's not as big of an indexing Factor as

play46:21

it was

play46:22

previously but when I'm submitting for

play46:25

Google News even if I submit just just

play46:27

one category on my website you know what

play46:29

you can do you don't have to submit the

play46:30

entire website just submit one category

play46:32

for Google new's

play46:33

approval even just getting that one

play46:36

category approved they're automatically

play46:38

pulling in content from all over your

play46:40

website I I some sometimes those

play46:43

randomly pulling my uh my my policy

play46:45

Pages things like that they for some

play46:47

reason I don't know what it is but they

play46:49

tend to crawl everything at that point

play46:51

which is uh which is super helpful uh

play46:53

and then there's other tons of things

play46:55

that I that I can use it for as well

play46:57

like I can use it for indexing uh other

play47:00

third party websites I'll create custom

play47:01

XML site Ms or backlink that I want uh

play47:04

index and submit that you know through

play47:07

search console or run that through

play47:09

through Google News uh and get

play47:11

that as well so there's tons of little

play47:14

things you can use it for but for the

play47:16

most part like I said it's kind of been

play47:18

my go-to just because it makes me build

play47:22

out the site so all I know it'll get

play47:24

it'll pass a manual review down the road

play47:26

so it looks the part it really is the

play47:28

part and um it's just I don't think it's

play47:33

necessary as it was in the past but I

play47:36

think it's helpful for me it just kind

play47:37

of reminds me to make sure that I need

play47:38

to uh be doing things the right way not

play47:41

cut you know taking any

play47:43

shortcuts that's a that's a I was going

play47:45

to highlight that that's a really

play47:46

interesting point like the concept of

play47:48

forcing yourself to make the site Google

play47:50

News approval ready almost forces you to

play47:54

do all the things that a site needs to

play47:57

do well longterm in Google's

play47:59

eyes and it's it's easy it's a lot

play48:02

easier it was in the past I mean I can

play48:03

literally do I it's copy and paste right

play48:05

now I can actually take a website clone

play48:08

it with the exact same content just

play48:10

switch out the logo and the the the

play48:12

headings to resubmit the same site and

play48:14

get it approved by Google news I mean

play48:16

that's how I build out these branded

play48:17

news networks like I said it's the same

play48:18

content I'm just swapping out the you

play48:21

know the site name and and the logo and

play48:22

that's it swapping out the author it's

play48:25

the same exact content is getting

play48:26

approved Google news so as long as it

play48:28

looks supp part for the most part it has

play48:29

the requisite policy pages and

play48:32

everything else and you know putting in

play48:33

the

play48:34

um you know the editorial policy the

play48:37

terms abuse uh privacy cookie policy um

play48:42

I'm using I have started using kind of

play48:43

an AI generated content policy in there

play48:45

as well too just to kind of cover all my

play48:47

bases just making sure that anything

play48:49

that Google would want to know about my

play48:51

set being up front about and uh like I

play48:54

said make sure it looks the port make

play48:56

sure it looks like a new site I'm using

play48:57

a high quality theme I got a

play48:59

professional logo and um Quality stock

play49:02

photos or generated photos and the

play49:05

content is Well written it's being human

play49:06

reviewed and you cleaned up grammarly

play49:09

cleaned up with harpa and it reads well

play49:12

and I dumb it down to the lowest com of

play49:15

denominator for that particular Niche

play49:16

that I'm writing for that's that's been

play49:19

really helpful last question out of me

play49:22

um and we could probably do a whole

play49:23

podcast on this question but it is what

play49:26

it is we're here here um so much good

play49:28

stuff already but backlinks you

play49:29

mentioned them as part of a strategy

play49:32

that you use but what is your backlink

play49:33

strategy from a high level what are you

play49:35

doing when it comes to these individual

play49:37

sites and how how much of an emphasis is

play49:39

it so my goal is not to do any um as

play49:44

much as possible you know because I'm

play49:47

cheap I want to take I want to make the

play49:48

money not spend money on that type of

play49:49

stuff yep but I do believe it's going to

play49:51

be necessary in certain isses uh

play49:53

specifically for the money content I'm

play49:56

push in putting onto these websites tons

play49:59

of internal linking is happening for

play50:00

sure you know I'm pushing out these

play50:02

money articles that you know are you

play50:03

know whe they're affiliate random

play50:05

articles or something like that or

play50:06

promoting an affiliate offer you know

play50:08

they're getting tons of internal links

play50:09

from all my you know topical Authority

play50:11

content from all the PA type questions

play50:13

and everything fing all those that

play50:15

internal link juice to to that but I am

play50:17

sprinkling in the the other back links I

play50:20

try to generate my backlinks oretically

play50:22

using the Catalyst content uh you know

play50:24

people sharing on social media people

play50:27

Ling to it to their website mentioning

play50:29

it in their their blog articles um I use

play50:33

ex a lot I said for the um the journal

play50:35

request hashtag and find journalist to

play50:38

share it but then I do go out there and

play50:40

I do purchase articles I do purchase

play50:41

backlinks you know guest post and then I

play50:43

nich edits you know from my for my money

play50:46

content so that's really where I'm if

play50:48

I'm purchasing third party backlinks

play50:50

it's going to be for my money content to

play50:51

power that stuff up everything else is

play50:53

just coming in organic it's just you

play50:54

know wly organically just based on the

play50:56

way structure of the content it's low

play50:58

competition tons and tons of search

play51:00

volume them getting in all the uh all

play51:02

the traffic in that way for money

play51:04

articles I do power it up with third

play51:06

part0 links uh just a mix of everything

play51:08

I try to get it as much as I can from

play51:10

like I said from the Catalyst content

play51:12

the other things that I mentioned but I

play51:14

will go out there specifically buy guest

play51:16

post and the press releases and

play51:19

everything else just the kind of power

play51:20

match that upot and just keep sprinkling

play51:22

and the overc

play51:24

coming Brian this has been a really

play51:27

great episode thank you for coming on

play51:29

thank you for just sharing the tactics

play51:32

you're using I think it's interesting I

play51:34

I hope people listening will see your

play51:36

success through a lot of these updates

play51:39

as a combination of everything you're

play51:40

doing it would be easy for someone to

play51:42

listen and kind of cherry-pick certain

play51:44

things they like about what you're doing

play51:45

and then ignore other things but I

play51:47

really do as I listen to you it is

play51:49

clearly a a very strategic way that

play51:52

you're going about all these things and

play51:54

I think that it's really important to

play51:55

kind of highlight that we close out yeah

play51:58

thank you much appreciated great have

play52:00

great being on where can people you know

play52:02

follow along with what you're doing if

play52:03

there's any place to to to direct people

play52:05

to it all so I do have a uh course that

play52:08

kind of discusses everything that can

play52:10

follow me along there and on the

play52:11

Facebook group it's called Authority

play52:13

amplifier Pro so they can follow me on

play52:15

Facebook they can look for my course and

play52:19

um you know follow along on the journey

play52:21

you I actually do a lot of the uh kind

play52:23

of the over shoulder stuff where I'm

play52:25

actually sharing a lot of these sites

play52:26

within my within my Facebook group and

play52:27

everything else so they can see it all

play52:29

live well good we'll get a link to that

play52:32

Brian thank you again for coming on

play52:34

really appreciate it and um all the best

play52:36

you got it jar thank you thank you hey
