Why you will Fail in Freelancing!
Summary
TLDRThis video discusses the challenges Indian freelancers face in earning substantial income, with only 1% making over 10 lakh Rupees per month. The speaker identifies three main obstacles: poor English communication skills, societal conditioning that instills a scarcity mindset, and the comfort of living with family. To overcome these, freelancers must improve their mindset, step out of their comfort zones, and focus on building scalable businesses rather than just fulfilling client work.
Takeaways
- 💼 The majority of freelancers in India, especially those in creative fields, struggle to earn a substantial income, with only 1% potentially making 10 lakh Rupees or more per month.
- 💻 Technical freelancers, such as coders, have a higher chance of earning well due to the demand and higher pay in the tech industry.
- 🗣️ A significant barrier to high earnings for Indian freelancers is the lack of proficiency in English, which limits their ability to communicate and secure deals with international clients.
- 💵 The inability to earn in foreign currencies, like dollars, due to language barriers, prevents freelancers from leveraging currency exchange rates to increase their income.
- 🏡 Societal conditioning and middle-class backgrounds often instill a scarcity mindset in freelancers, making it difficult for them to envision or pursue higher earnings.
- 🌐 The comfort of living with family in India can hinder personal growth and the motivation to push beyond one's limits, which is necessary for entrepreneurial success.
- 🚀 To break the earning barrier, freelancers must work on improving their mindset, breaking free from societal conditioning, and adopting an abundant mindset.
- 🛑 Getting out of the comfort zone is crucial for personal and professional growth, as it pushes freelancers to take risks and seek new opportunities.
- 📈 Freelancers should focus on building scalable businesses rather than just fulfilling client work, which allows for sustainable growth and higher income potential.
- 💡 Entrepreneurial freelancers should prioritize working on their business, such as sales, marketing, and culture building, over being caught up in the day-to-day operations.

Outlines
💼 Challenges for Freelancers in India
The speaker begins by asserting that the majority of freelancers in India, particularly those in creative fields, struggle to earn substantial income, with only 1% potentially making 10 lakh Rupees or more per month. This figure is considered 'enough money' as it can significantly change one's lifestyle. The speaker emphasizes the importance of hard work and determination but also hints at the barriers that prevent most freelancers from achieving this level of income. The video promises to delve into the reasons behind this income disparity and offers advice on overcoming these challenges to succeed as a freelancer in India.
🗣️ English Proficiency and Societal Conditioning
The speaker identifies two key reasons why many Indian freelancers fail to earn substantial incomes. First, a significant portion of freelancers lack proficiency in English, which hinders their ability to communicate effectively with international clients and secure high-paying projects. Second, societal conditioning from middle-class backgrounds often instills a scarcity mindset, leading to limited aspirations and a belief that earning 2 lakh Rupees per month is a monumental achievement. The speaker argues that this mindset is a significant barrier to earning higher incomes, as it does not encourage the pursuit of more significant financial goals.
🏡 Comfort Zone and Entrepreneurial Growth
The final paragraph addresses the impact of living in one's comfort zone on a freelancer's ability to grow and earn more. The speaker notes that many young Indians live with their parents well into their 20s, which can stifle personal and professional growth. The lack of necessity to venture out and face challenges can lead to complacency. The speaker shares their personal decision to move out and face the world independently, which they credit for their financial success. They advise freelancers to actively seek discomfort and continuously push their boundaries to foster growth. The speaker also stresses the importance of focusing on building a business rather than just running one, suggesting that freelancers should aim to scale their operations and delegate client fulfillment to focus on strategic growth activities.

video Freelancers trigger because in
this video I'm here to tell you that 99%
of Freelancers in India are never going
to make enough money except if you are
working in a tech role if you are a
coder and if you are in technical
industry you can make a lot of money but
if you're into creative industry if you
are a creative freelancer watching this
video chances of you making enough money
is just 1% now let me be very precise
and clear when I say enough
money is possible and I believe in my
heart that everybody can do it if they
just work hard enough but when I say
enough money I mean making 10 lakh
Rupees per month or more than that
because that is the amount of money that
will truly change your lifestyle
flight you will book whatever is the
fastest okay so that sort of money is
truly life-changing money and 99% of the
Freelancers will never will be able to
make that in India now before you start
cursing
me watch this video because I'm going to
tell you why I believe it to be true and
what are the three things that you
should keep in mind and work towards if
you want to break this curse and
actually want to make that sort of money
as a freelancer living in India let's
dive deep into
it so reason number one why I believe
that it is so hard for Freelancers in
India to make that sort of money is
English see I am in a field where I am
hiring Freelancers all the time I am
conversating with Freelancers all the
time and majority of the Freelancers
that I talk to at least 50% of the
Freelancers on a daily basis they do not
know how to speak in English properly
they do not know how to express and
present their thoughts precisely with
confidence or English then you will
never be able to talk with confidence
with people outside India or then you
will never be able to crack deals
outside India and if you cannot do that
you cannot make money in dollars and if
you cannot make money in dollars you
cannot leverage dollar to INR Arbitrage
and you cannot do that making 10 lakh
Rupees per month or more than that
servicing to Indian clients is Nightmare
it's almost impossible you can probably
do it if you're working with 20 clients
25 clients okay but if you are a normal
creative Freelancers doing and providing
normal freelancing Services making that
sort of money is unheard of I haven't
heard of any Indian freelancer working
with just Indian clients and making 20
lakh rupees per month okay I haven't
heard of it I don't know about you but I
believe it to be true right so the
reality is that a lot of people in India
just not know how to speak in English
properly and that's the reason number
one I believe that not a lot of
Freelancers in India can make a lot of
money reason number two is societal
conditioning yeah the problem is that
majority of Us come from a middle class
family
or when you were growing up your parents
your relatives always used to tell you
that ET etc etc I'm not saying that this
didn't happen with me this happened with
me all the time and I'm not even
complaining about my childhood I
extremely grateful for the life that my
parents have given me when I was growing
up okay but the problem is when you
listen such kind of things again and
again and again these things sit deep in
your brain okay and your brain just
believe it to be true right now whenever
I talk to aspiring Freelancers making 2
lakh rupees per month is humongous for
them okay the believe that it is
lifechanging they believe that it will
absolutely change their life and they
will live their dream life when in
reality if you zoom out and you think
about it that sort of money is just
peanuts okay that is nowhere near
life-changing money okay it might feel
like it is lifechanging at the start
when you make it for the first time in
your life but after a point of time you
will believe that nothing has changed in
your life okay so societal conditioning
is so engraved in the fabric of our
society and in our childhood that
getting out of it breaking that scarce
mindset and believing that making money
is easy is almost impossible for
majority of Freelancers in India and
because of that it is impossible for
them to make a lot of money that's
reason number two reason number three is
comfort zone see the reality is unlike
West majority of 20 years old 21 years
old and even 22 years old live with
their parents okay the bonding in India
between the parents and children is so
tight letting go of a child when they
are 18 like West is unheard of
okay the person is living his own life
and they are kind of trying to make
things work on their own there is
nothing wrong about it okay but the
point I'm trying to make is that because
of that even a 22y old in India is in a
comfort
zone
Dr
against because I believe for you to
grow as a person for you to become a man
from a child you need to go out there in
the world you need to taste what world
has to offer you need to seek some
failure you need to be lonely for a
while you need to sit down with yourself
and think about what are the ways you
will be improving your life you need to
go through that journey of hardship and
that is only possible when you live
alone for some time when you live
between Unknown People in college so a
lot of people are not going to college
they're dropping out because they
believe that being a freelancer they
will be able to make a lot of money and
they will get all the life experiences
and they will get to know about
everything and because of that a average
middle class Indian child is in Comfort
Zone
okay their shelter is sorted their food
is sorted the clothes they're wearing
wearing is sorted so there is no fire
inside their belly okay see
H but on a day-to-day micro level
borings
effortlessly then actually going out of
your comfort zone and putting in the
work is really hard okay and that is one
of the reason why I decided to move out
of my
hometown autopilot so I was like I need
to go out I need to build a life for
myself I need to be accountable and
responsible for all the things in my
life and that is the only reason why I'm
today able to make that sort of money
that I'm talking about okay but for a
lot of people it is impossible to move
out of their parents house and until
they have started making a lot of money
so that's reason number third why I
believe that a lot of Freelancers will
never be able to make that sort of money
okay now having said that let's talk
about what are the things that you can
take care of that you can work towards
if you want to break out of this curse
and if you really want to make that sort
of money it is possible it is possible
if you work hard if you work smartly if
you work on things that are scalable if
you do not pay up from from one thing to
another thing and if you do not continue
watching Pawn every night before you
sleep okay let's talk about it so the
first thing and probably the most
important one that you need to work
towards is improving your
mindset about societal conditioning it
is deep engraved in your brain it is
engraved in every middle class child
okay and if you want to break out of it
if you want to have that abundant
mindset from a scarce mindset you need
to break down your limiting beliefs you
need to change change your mental
processing
okay because they feed positive thoughts
and positive inputs in their computer
which is their mind so if you're unable
to achieve your goals if you're unable
to get out of their negative and scarce
mindset is because computer virus right
so you need to get free of that
virus right but you need to clean your
computer system you need to clean this
processor okay you need to feed yourself
positive thoughts you need to you need
to feed yourself positivity and need to
get out of their scarce mindset because
the output your brain produces is going
to be directly correlated to the input
you feed it right so you need to change
that input you need to change your
mindset number two is getting out of the
comfort zone and always be on the
off even when you're living
alone and especially if you're living in
let's say tier one City Bangalore
MB everything is going
fine and there is nothing wrong about it
I do it every time okay but at the same
time you need to keep yourself aware
comfort
zone and on one good wedness day morning
you need to wake up you need to tell
yourself
bro enough is enough okay you're getting
in the comfort zone and you need to
change your activities and change your
habits and you need to get on the off
mode
again then your growth will become
stale I believe that you are not growing
you are only dying okay so you need to
grow every day as an entrepreneur as a
freelancer if you really want to make
enough money and you want to make that
money sustainably okay I have met a lot
of people who make 10 lak rupes 15 lakh
rupees per month as a freelancer in one
month or two month maybe okay but
they're unable to make it every month
right so if you want to make it every
month you need to be on the offense mode
you need to always be on your toes okay
what's the next thing that I want to do
okay what are the next set of people
want to talk to what is the next sort of
marketing campaign that I want to run
for my freelancing business you need to
be always on the offense Mode work
towards it so the last thing that I want
you to take seriously as a freelancer
and as an entrepreneur is that you must
work to build your business you should
not work to run your
business agency owners Freelancers they
make decently good amount of money four
per month but
Liv so basically what is happening is
they are always working to fulfill their
clients if you a freelancer your goal
should be to never fulfill your clients
okay your team should do that you should
be able to hire good people you should
be able to hire talented people who will
be doing it for you your job as a
freelancer as a service business owner
as an entrepreneur is to take decisions
that will take your business one step
forward every day and work on things
like sales closing traffic making your
offer better taking testimonials
building relationship with your clients
actually providing experience to your
customers if you really want to scale
your
business normal
fulfillment and that is the only thing
that you're able to do on a daily basis
then your growth as an entrepreneur then
you being able to grow your business is
impossible and if you cannot grow your
business you cannot scale your business
you will never be able to make enough
money which is like 10 lakh Rupees per
month 20 lakh rupees per month as a
freelancer right so work on better
things okay work on your leadership
qualities work on building a good
culture work on hiring better people and
let other creative people take care of
fulfillment always focus on working to
build your business do not focus and do
not keep yourself busy in running your
business there is a big difference okay
