today I'm looking at the XP pen artist

Pro second gen 19in tablet it's

currently on the market for just under

$900 and I'll be going through whether I

think that's worth it or not so let's

start with what you get in the Box you

get obviously the screen two pens two

USBC wires a few other power cables in

case you haven't got USBC or your laptop

isn't modern enough to handle the power

output needed it's also got one of these

keypads for keyboard shortcuts and it's

got a glove and a screen wipe so what's

the drawing experience like well it's

exactly the same as the other artist Pro

second gen that I've looked at there's

the 14in the 16in and now this is the

19in all really exceptional I don't

think you'll find much more in quality

when you look at the bigger Brands like

Wacom and Zen slab they're slightly

calibrated better perhaps but you won't

notice much difference I certainly don't

and I use lots of different tablets to

review them it feels very sensitive when

you're drawing it's got no pen wobble

The Parallax is really quite thin so

that's the distance between your pen and

the actual drawing surface you hardly

notice it it's a really nice drawing

experience and there's a good accuracy

there that I feel really comfortable

using in terms of comfort it's got a

bezel around it so you can rest your

hand and it doesn't feel uncomfortable

at all in terms of the stand it's only

got a a small stand at the back these

tiny legs that you can pull out that I

quite like it's a nice angle for me to

draw on but other people that like it a

bit more steep you might like to get

your own stand for it in terms of the

actual display itself it's a 4K screen

and when you go or when you're thinking

of buying a tablet that's over 16 in I

would suggest going for that higher

resolution does make a difference and it

makes everything that much sharper and

you feel like you're getting more

accuracy from your images the color

accuracy is great and you get a little

certificate to say that it's brilliant

when you buy it I could recite some

numbers and give you some details there

but just take my word for it it's pretty

good the one thing I did notice though

is that the brightness was a little bit

dim I turned it up all the way and it

just seen that tiny bit dimmer than my

laptop screen for example I wasn't sure

if that was because I was running from

just the USBC itself and maybe it would

be a little bit brighter if I plugged it

in it didn't cause me any problems and

it wasn't an issue but I did notice it

was slightly less bright than my laptop

screen and that might for some reason

concern people it's worth knowing I

suppose now in terms of the pens you get

two pens a fatty and a thinny now the

fat pen has a wheel on it instead of a

button I really don't like that I'm a

bit disappointed with XP pen it kind of

makes this pen unusable in 3D programs

because I always use this button to

navigate around my objects it's the

middle Mouse button that I change it to

but that's not a button now it's a wheel

so I know Photoshop artists probably

want a wheel so they can zoom in and out

quickly that makes a lot of sense it

does have two buttons further up the pen

but I find they're a little bit high if

I were to be using that all the time as

my middle Mouse button so it's not quite

working for me that the thin pen has

just two basic buttons so I'm quite

happy using this one what's quite nice

though is that you can program the

different pens to do different things in

each of your programs which kind of

brings me on to the drivers it all

installed first time of asking worked

straight away out of the box that was

nice and comfortable no issues there and

I did like the fact that it was quite

easy to drive a program they seem to

have improved it slightly in fact and I

went in was able to tap the screen with

a pen and it instantly knew which pen it

was and I could choose the pens choose

the programs and change all the

calibration of things if I wanted so all

in all a really excellent tablet so

would I recommend it well currently it

is at just under $900 which is quite

pricey it's a big jump from the 16in

version which is around 500 what do you

get for that upgrade well you get that

slightly bigger screen you get the 4K

and you get two pens which is kind of

nice is it worth it well it possibly is

it depends how you're going to use this

tablet if portability is important for

you then perhaps the 16 inch it depends

how portable you want it to be if most

of your work is going to be done on a

laptop and you're going to plug this in

sitting at a desk the same desk each day

and occasionally take it out to use it

somewhere else then I'd probably go for

the 19in because it is that bit nicer

but if you are traveling around a lot

and let's say you're a student going to

college or you want to take this into

work and come home with it then I would

suggest going for the 16in just because

of that portability Factor yes you

haven't got the 4K screen but because

it's slightly smaller it doesn't matter

as much but in terms of the quality of

the drawing experience they're very much

the same all in all I would definitely

recommend this tablet and I would

definitely recommend the artist Pro

second gen series they are really

exceptional tablets all of them being

nice and portable with that USBC

connection so you got one wire it's nice

and easy and it's a really nice drawing

experience the best one I've had from

all these what I called budget Brands so
