Ado let's get right in honestly first
things first the very first thing that I
would tell you about confidence if you
were like just give me one advice about
how to become more confident this is
exactly what I would tell you basically
the way I like to deal with things most
of the time because people usually like
to over complicate things make things
into some things that they're honestly
not and just go at it in this really
complicated way so what I like to do is
to strip things down back to the basics
back to their basic definitions of what
this thing actually is and confidence is
a lot of the times mistaken for either
looking good or I'll feel confident when
or just the showy attitude even of
Cockiness where people are like oh I'm
better than you I have this I have that
like look at me with all my bags I'm
confident that's not what it is
confidence is actually quiet and
confidence is simply by definition being
sure of something I'm confident in blank
is the same as me saying I'm pretty sure
that blank is something for example if
we were to talk about this pillow right
here I can say that I'm confident that
this is a pillow I'm confident that this
pillow is purple same as me saying I'm
pretty sure that this pillow is purple
I'm pretty sure that this is a pillow
I'm pretty confident about what I'm
saying confidence in yourself is simply
being sure of yourself knowing your
value being sure that you can do it
being sure that you're pretty enough
being sure that you're good enough
knowing what value you have and not
letting anyone else make you doubt it
there are also certain areas of life
where you feel more confident for
example you may be more confident in
your studying ability than in you're
playing tennis abilities but mostly when
we want to be more confident we're
talking about confidence overall or just
confidence in yourself and your value so
right now you might be thinking great
confidence is being sure of yourself
confidence is being sure of your value
okay but like how do I get that and at
the same time how do I not let other
people questioning my value affect my
confidence let's talk about it first of
all one thing that I'm going to tell you
is something that I found on Tik Tok
from a pretty famous Creator everyone
knows her you probably also know her
Spencer Barbosa I saw this Tik Tok of
Spencer basically talking about
confidence and being like what do you
want people to Remember You by because a
lot of the times we attribute our value
to our looks and if that's something
that is making you doubt your value
because I know for the most part
Everyone is always worried about their
looks even someone you think is the
prettiest person has at some point
worried about their looks or is still
worrying about their looks and here's
the thing which can really shift your
perspective what she said in this Tik
Tok is basically what do you want people
to Remember You by because we're
thinking about pretty being the most
important thing but would you really
want someone to have the only thing to
say about you just be like oh yeah she
was pretty and that's pretty much what
people remember you by it doesn't feel
that great like honestly for me I would
want someone to say something like oh
she was so nice and she was so
inspirational she had the best energy
she was so positive smart and talented
like that's what I would want people to
say her value is not in being pretty so
think about the things that you would
want people to say about you and that's
going to take your attention off of
worrying about your looks and if you
don't have the things that you think of
this exercise basically just try to work
on cultivating them at the same time you
can also increase your inner value by
spending time with yourself putting time
in yourself like learning something new
there are actually studies that show
that there's correlation between playing
a musical instrument and being more
confident so learning something that can
make you feel good about yourself and
make you feel accomplished from the
inside without outer validation is going
to make you feel more confident because
you're going to feel more valuable from
the inside and it's not going to be
external so no one can take it away so
learn learn a language learn an
instrument put time in yourself work out
go to the gym anything that makes you
spend time with yourself and put energy
into yourself because that's going to
make you feel about yourself like you're
an asset and it's going to make you more
confident but I'm not going to be bsing
you guys here appearance can also help
you with feeling more confident what I'm
saying is not just go and have a big
change I'm not saying get a plastic
surgery or anything like that I would
not recommend that unless you know for
sure that that's what's right for you
and it's coming from the genuine place
of I think this is the best for me and
not like I feel insecure and I want
validation from people so I want to
change my nose so people actually
compliment me but I'm talking more about
things like dressing in a way that
you're proud of developing a really cool
style can help you with feeling more
confident because you feel like you have
this really cool thing about yourself or
if there's some hair color that you
think will make you just light up from
the inside then definitely go and get
that hair color maybe it's a haircut
maybe it's getting more tone and going
to the gym more as long as you don't
push it too far changing some things in
your physical appearance that can make
you feel better about yourself are also
going to help you with your confidence
but as long as they're coming from a
place of I genuinely think this looks
really great and not just like I want to
wear this dress so I get compliments
from people so I feel better about
myself you know and with confidence
since it's a process you can be doing
all of those things but still have those
intrusive thoughts of like you're not
good enough you're not pretty enough
you're not smart enough you're not doing
this enough oh my God look at yourself
you're being so stupid right now the
thoughts that basically bring you down
when you see yourself thinking those
thoughts what I want you to do is use a
little bit of psychology this is kind of
like a CBT is type of thing but
basically what this is is questioning
your rational beliefs because trust me
they're not true and here's how you're
going to show yourself that because when
you're thinking those thoughts in the
moment you might be pretty into them you
might be feeling like that's the truth
but trust me that's just your brain
tricking you and the way you can show
yourself that is by actually reframing
those thoughts when you get the thought
like that let's say it says I'm not good
enough to talk to this group of people
you're going to ask yourself what
evidence do I have for that and usually
a lot of the times there's not going to
be that much or the ones that you have
are going to be pretty irrational ask
yourself am I exaggerating this and then
I also want you to ask yourself if your
friend was saying that what would you
say to her or imagine it the opposite
way if you were saying that what would
your best friend say because I'm pretty
sure that they see it more clearly than
you and they would tell you that that's
not true so every time you get a thought
try to ref frame it using those
questions and keep doing it every single
time because confidence ultimately comes
down to practice the more you are in
this situation the more you get used to
being in it and you're not as nervous
like think about it when you're going to
a new place for the first time you're
more nervous when you're about to talk
to someone for the first time you might
be nervous once you talk to them at
least 10 times you're not nervous about
talking to that person anymore in fact
you're confident in your ability to talk
to that person maybe if you've ever done
sports or performances when you're
performing for the first time you're
nervous and not as confident in yourself
while if you've been playing that sport
for a long time if you've been
performing for a long time you're more
confident in your ability to do it so
put yourself in similar situations to
the situations where you feel like
you're not confident because you're
going to practice it and the confidence
is going to develop if you're scared
about talking to people try starting
small and talking to like one person
that you don't know a week then kind of
increase it and get so much practice
that you're not worried about talking to
people anymore and if you're someone
who's constantly worried about oh what
this person is going to think of me what
that person is going to think of me and
you let other people's opinions ruin
your confidence here's something that I
can tell you first of all people are
mostly just thinking about themselves
I'm sorry about this but everyone's
selfish honestly no one cares so
remember that everyone's so focused on
themselves that usually what you're
worried about they don't even notice
that much and second of all the people
that you're worried about are usually
temporary in your life think about it
like this if you're in school if you're
in University if you're anywhere
basically it's kind of like being in a
place to get to a certain place for
example in high school you're there to
graduate high school and get your
diploma go to university those people
are just along for the right until it
ends it's kind of like being on the bus
when you go on the bus you're not just
going to look around and try to get
every single person to like you there
you're just there to get to a certain
destination you're going to get off
maybe never see those people in your
life I haven't really seen anyone from
my high school except for the people
that I was friends with and even that is
hard because everyone's a different
countries now you're just there to get
to a certain destination those people in
your life are temporary so if they're
not going to last why are you even
worried about their opinions their
opinions don't mean anything they're
just there along for the right if it's
not going to matter in 5 years don't
spend more than 5 minutes thinking about
it that's a really good quote I love
that quote and people who are going to
stay in your life for longer are usually
your friends if they're true friends
they're not going to criticize you
they're not going to talk smack about
you they're not going to bring you down
and bring down your confidence in fact
they're going to lift you up motivate
you and make you feel more confident and
if your friends are bringing you down
and trying to to make you feel insecure
then that's usually a sign that you
shouldn't have those types of people
around you in your life try to limit
your time with them but if you guys want
to know more about how to stop thinking
about other people's opinions and go for
what you want in life and not let anyone
else's hate or just worrying about
someone else's opinion get to you and
become unbothered then check out this
video right here because I have so many
tips in there that have helped me I used
to honestly just change my hair color
based on what someone would say about me
and I really became a person who really
only cares about my my own opinion and
if you guys want to watch the previous
episode in the globe series then go to
this video right here and I love you
guys so much and I'll see you guys in
the next one bye
