Transcripts

play00:00

If you want to start dropshipping in 2024, you need a niche,

play00:03

you need suppliers,

play00:05

you need a website, and you need traffic.

play00:07

Now I go into all of these things in detail in a free two hour training

play00:11

that I will link to below this video.

play00:14

But if you just want to know the easiest way to start dropshipping in

play00:17

2024, and you're short on time, then check out this video because we're

play00:21

going to cover all of these topics in the easiest way possible, starting.

play00:25

Right now,

play00:31

when it comes to picking a niche for dropshipping, there are a ton of different

play00:35

ways that you can brainstorm ideas, but because you're on YouTube, I want to

play00:39

give you the easiest way you can start to do this right now, simply by opening

play00:43

up a new tab on YouTube right now.

play00:45

Go into your homepage and seeing what videos are recommended to you.

play00:49

Now, what I want you to do here is look for any products that stand out

play00:53

in this section of YouTube that ideally are above $200, and write them down.

play00:59

Add them to a list that we're going to use in the next step of this process.

play01:03

But to show you how this works, I have my YouTube homepage pulled up right now.

play01:06

And we can see here in the first row, there is a video with Tony Hawk.

play01:11

So I don't know how much skateboards cost, but maybe I would put electric skateboards

play01:15

as something I could potentially research.

play01:17

Maybe I could put.

play01:18

Different ramps you could buy to use at your home or different grind rails.

play01:22

And those are things I can research in the next step of the process.

play01:25

Coming down to the second row here, we have this guy.

play01:27

He's in my feed every day.

play01:28

I haven't watched his videos yet, but I can tell he's a bodybuilder.

play01:31

So maybe I want to write down free weights or home gyms and

play01:34

research that in the next step.

play01:36

Let's keep coming down.

play01:37

Here we have a golf simulator.

play01:39

Certainly can add that to my list.

play01:40

Definitely above 200.

play01:42

Let's keep going and see what we have here.

play01:44

Um, let's see, we have more golf.

play01:46

You could tell I, uh, I like golf, but let's come down and see if

play01:49

anything else stands out here.

play01:50

We have a guitar now, not going to add guitars because I think that's a

play01:54

niche that's dominated by a few big brands, but maybe microphone stands.

play01:58

I could add that to research it in the future.

play02:01

And if we keep coming down, we'll see if anything else stands out to us here.

play02:05

We have here, uh, let's see, uh, Chad Smith.

play02:07

Okay.

play02:08

Drummer for the chili peppers.

play02:09

Maybe we want to write down drum kits.

play02:11

Not sure how many brands make them, but something that could be worth researching.

play02:15

Again, at this point, we're just getting ideas.

play02:17

Here we have this woman who builds basically these 3D prints of all

play02:20

different types of really cool things.

play02:22

Like she modifies all of her electronics.

play02:24

So I do watch her videos, but maybe we want to add 3D printers to our niche

play02:28

list to research in the next step.

play02:30

Here we have this woman with a gigantic aquarium, so maybe we

play02:34

add aquariums to our niche list.

play02:36

And as you can tell this first step, as far as brainstorming

play02:38

ideas goes is extremely simple.

play02:41

And because you're already on YouTube, again, open a new tab, do exactly what

play02:44

I did, but take the time to write.

play02:46

These down, and then we can move into step two of this process.

play02:50

So all we're going to do here is go to Google and we're going

play02:52

to search through the niches.

play02:53

We just brainstormed one by one.

play02:55

The first one I'll use is saltwater aquarium.

play02:58

And what I'm going to do is search for it on Google, and

play03:00

then I'm going to click shopping.

play03:02

When I do that, I'm going to look at the results on this page, specifically

play03:06

everything under this product carousel.

play03:09

So if we come down here, the first test that I'm going to do is look

play03:13

to see if half the page or more, the first page results are above 200.

play03:18

I want to make sure these are expensive enough for the dropship lifestyle model.

play03:22

Now, this first one we see is 4, 000, 570, 100.

play03:26

1, 957, so three out of the first four above 200.

play03:30

Let's keep going.

play03:31

1, 450, Keep going down.

play03:35

700, 1, 200.

play03:39

So, so far we are well above having over half the products be above 200.

play03:45

And what I would encourage you to do is take your niches that you just

play03:48

brainstormed through this step and make sure that they meet that criteria.

play03:53

That is what I call our price point criteria.

play03:55

And we want it again to be above 200 to make sure if we're going to sell

play03:59

these things, we can actually make profit every time we get a sale.

play04:03

Now, the second step of this process is on this same exact page with

play04:07

the same exact results, and this is where we check for competition.

play04:11

Now with the dropship lifestyle method of dropshipping competition

play04:14

occurs at the product level.

play04:16

And we want half or more of the first page results here on Google shopping to

play04:20

be being listed by 10 or less stores.

play04:23

So this first one, we have three stores, five stores, four stores, one store.

play04:27

Let's keep going here.

play04:28

Five stores, one, one, one.

play04:31

Let's keep going down so far.

play04:32

So good though.

play04:33

Two stores, four stores, one store, one store.

play04:35

Let's keep going.

play04:36

See if anything else stands out three stores, three stores, five stores, two

play04:39

stores, and just so you know, it says five plus doors, but if it was more

play04:42

than 10, it would say 10 plus stores.

play04:45

So, so far again, clearly passing this test.

play04:47

If I was really going to build a store in this niche, I would continue going

play04:50

with my research and check this entire first page of organic results on Google

play04:55

product listings, but I encourage you to do this same thing with again.

play04:58

All the niches you just brainstormed that way you can be sure it

play05:02

passes the price point test and it passes the competition test.

play05:05

The next two tests that we're going to put our niche through are what I call

play05:09

the demands test and the evergreen test.

play05:11

And to do these tests, I'm going to be using the dropship

play05:14

lifestyle niche research software.

play05:15

If you're a member of dropship lifestyle, you have access to this.

play05:18

So just go ahead and use it.

play05:20

If you're not a member yet, what are you waiting for?

play05:22

Again, I'm going to link to our in depth free training below this video.

play05:25

And at the end, I also have a special offer to get you enrolled.

play05:28

So check that out.

play05:29

If you want access to this plus a whole lot more, but here, all we're going to

play05:32

do is change our search location for me.

play05:35

That's United States.

play05:36

Cause that's where I do business.

play05:37

We're going to enter our niche keyword and we're going to click search.

play05:40

Now the results here are going to give us.

play05:42

Two pieces of information that are very important.

play05:44

The first one up here is search volume, and this is showing average

play05:48

monthly searches according to Google.

play05:50

And you can see for saltwater aquariums, it's over 18, 000, which

play05:53

is perfect because the minimum number we want to see here is 10, 000.

play05:58

So if you're going through this test and it comes up below 10, 000, my advice

play06:02

would be to continue through your niche list until you find something that meets

play06:06

that criteria, because you want to make sure there's enough people searching for

play06:09

the thing you want to sell every month so that you can get enough traffic to get

play06:13

enough sales, to build a real business.

play06:16

Now, the next thing we're going to get on this page is the data that

play06:20

we use for our evergreen test.

play06:22

And what this shows here is a graph showing interest in this keyword,

play06:26

in this case, this niche over the past five years, month by month.

play06:30

And if you hover over it, it'll show you what that month is.

play06:33

And this goes on a scale from 100 being the most interest to zero being none.

play06:37

And what we're trying to see here is for the past five years, is this consistent.

play06:42

Of course, there will be some peaks, there will be some valleys.

play06:45

But what we don't want to get ourselves into is a niche that is seasonal.

play06:49

A niche that has a few good months every year.

play06:51

And then falls off a cliff for the rest.

play06:53

We want something that gets significant search volume consistently month

play06:57

over month, so that if we take our time to build a store in this

play07:00

niche, we can make money year round, not just during a busy season.

play07:04

And from a quick glance at this graph, I can say this does not look seasonal.

play07:09

And this is something that I would feel comfortable proceeding with.

play07:12

So now that we know we have a niche that passes our main criteria, the next

play07:15

step is to make sure it is drop ship.

play07:17

Friendly, meaning there are other online stores that are dropshipping

play07:21

the products that we want to sell.

play07:23

And between them, we want to find at least 20 different brands to

play07:26

sell for, and at least 100 products.

play07:29

So an easy way to find suppliers is by simply just going back to the Google

play07:33

shopping results that you were looking at earlier, and then pulling up different

play07:36

websites that are listing products here.

play07:38

So all I'm doing now is looking at the store names, and I'm just looking for

play07:42

ones that stand out to me that I, you know, haven't seen before, or any that

play07:46

sound like they might be dropshipping.

play07:48

This one is 11, 000 and the website is called Fishtanks Direct.

play07:52

I'll pull it up right now.

play07:54

Usually when somebody has direct in their URL, that is a sign

play07:57

that they're shipping direct from the supplier, AKA drop shipping.

play08:01

So this one here on the site, again, it's an 11, 000 product.

play08:04

And if we look at their website, I'm trying to see if there's an address

play08:08

anywhere or anything about a store.

play08:10

So let's go to their footer.

play08:11

They do have an address here.

play08:12

Um, let me copy that.

play08:14

It says unit five.

play08:15

So it very well may be a PO box or a UPS store address, but let me go to about us

play08:19

and see if it says anything about a store.

play08:23

Nothing about a store here.

play08:25

Okay. Let's keep coming down.

play08:26

Let's go to customer service and see if it mentions, no, same thing, nothing

play08:29

about a store, so they have an address.

play08:31

Let's take that address and just search for it on Google.

play08:34

And then we can see at that address, there are three different

play08:37

businesses at least listed.

play08:39

So I'm assuming if there's three different businesses at this unit five there,

play08:43

this is a virtual address, meaning it is not a storefront, it is just a business

play08:47

address, which is great because to me, that means again, they are dropshipping.

play08:51

So, how do you get suppliers then?

play08:53

Well, you gotta do some certain things to get approved.

play08:55

You need to call them, say the right things.

play08:57

But in order to find the supplier list, you can go to, here, fish

play09:00

tanks, fish tanks by brand, and we'll look for which brands they sell for.

play09:04

And here is what?

play09:05

1, 2, uh, 13, 14.

play09:09

So here are 14 different brands that are drop ship friendly.

play09:12

In the fish tank space that we can reach out to in the future.

play09:16

Again, you need to know what to say.

play09:17

You need to be able to get approved with them, but before you can even reach out

play09:21

to them, you need to have a website built.

play09:23

And I know that might sound tricky cause it's like a chicken and the egg

play09:25

scenario, but just know before we contact.

play09:28

Any suppliers, we build a store.

play09:31

So to build our online stores, we use Shopify that is hands down the best e

play09:35

commerce platform that is available.

play09:37

And if you want to make an account, we have a special offer that we

play09:40

partnered with them on where you can get three days for free and then

play09:44

three months for only 1 a month.

play09:46

So you pay 3 over 90 days, and that is plenty of time to

play09:50

get a business off the ground.

play09:52

If you're interested, I will link to this page below this lesson.

play09:55

If you go there and create an account, no credit card even required.

play09:58

That is a massive benefit to you.

play10:00

We do get a credit for sending you there.

play10:02

So I want to make that clear, but definitely a win win.

play10:05

But now if you're wondering like, okay, if I do that, what do I even put up on

play10:07

a store if I don't have products yet?

play10:09

Well, I'll show you this.

play10:10

This is shakasurfboards.

play10:11

com.

play10:12

This is a Drop Ship Lifestyle demo store built using the newest

play10:15

Drop Ship Lifestyle Shopify theme.

play10:17

And as you can see, this looks exactly like a site would look that is actually

play10:21

live and selling surfboards, even though, again, this is a demo store.

play10:26

Looks totally clean, looks totally professional, but the only goal of a

play10:29

store like this is to become authorized to sell for the brands you want to sell for.

play10:34

Now, when you first build it, you list what I call demo products, and

play10:37

then you reach out to the suppliers, tell them where you're calling from.

play10:41

Then when you become an authorized retailer, you put in your real products,

play10:44

you delete the demo products, and after that you could turn on Shopify payments

play10:48

to start accepting money when people buy.

play10:51

But in the beginning, if you want people to find you and

play10:53

actually buy, you need traffic.

play10:55

So the question then becomes, how do I actually get traffic?

play10:58

And in module six of the dropship blueprint, we share all the methods

play11:01

that we use between different forms of Google ads, Microsoft ads, meta ads.

play11:06

Search engine optimization, and really a whole lot more, but again, the point

play11:10

of this video is to have things set up as easy as possible for those that

play11:13

want a quick overview and the ads and listings that will get you the best

play11:17

results out of the gate are actually things you've seen already because

play11:21

these are known as Google shopping ads.

play11:23

So if we simply go back here.

play11:24

You'll see on the homepage results of Google search, all of the listings

play11:29

up here in this carousel are ads.

play11:32

So yes, we will be using this to drive traffic to our product pages.

play11:36

And if we go back to shopping, remember that top carousel we talked about.

play11:39

Again, these are all sponsored ads where we list.

play11:42

Products and huge benefit.

play11:44

Not many people know about everything that we used for our research below

play11:47

listed down here are known as Google product listings, which all cost

play11:51

a grand total of 0 to list on.

play11:54

It is completely free and it is high quality buying traffic.

play11:58

Hopefully this video provided some clarity and gave you some peace of mind

play12:01

that this stuff isn't that complicated.

play12:03

It's not rocket science.

play12:04

And if you did get value, I'd appreciate it.

play12:06

If you give the video a like and click subscribe, because we have new videos

play12:10

like this every single Monday here.

play12:11

But with that being said, there is obviously more that goes

play12:14

into this, and I'd recommend spending more than 10 minutes on

play12:17

planning out your whole business.

play12:18

So if you do want to know more about how this process works, and if you

play12:22

want to get a special offer on our award winning dropship blueprint that

play12:26

was voted best e commerce course by Shopify, I will link to that free

play12:29

in depth training below this video.
