one of the hardest things about starting
and running an Etsy Shop is trying to
figure out what products to sell in your
shop that are gonna get consistent sales
and therefore help you make consistent
money because of course if you get it
wrong you're gonna spend a lot of time
creating products that aren't going to
get sales so it's a waste of time waste
of energy and of course it's going to
completely demotivate you to want to
spend any more time on your Etsy shop
but with just a few small tweaks and
using what I'm going to share in this
video with you you can create products
that are going to get sales and
therefore make you consistent money
okay so let me take you behind the
scenes of my process of finding products
that I want to add to my Etsy shop that
I know are gonna get sales so the first
thing is obviously because I'm adding
things to my Etsy shop I want to come on
to Etsy and start my kind of research or
kind of idea kind of formation so the
first thing I always come to is the Etsy
search bar to kind of see what's going
on in terms of what's already getting
sales kind of what is popular and in
order to kind of formulate my product or
products in this case so right now I'm
in the process of kind of formulating my
plan for some new products that I want
to add to my Etsy Shop which is all
going to be around kind of Instagram
content planners like helping small
businesses just like you to kind of like
plan their content so that they're
consistently posting to social media
promoting their products So that
obviously they can get sales
which if you don't know is what one of
my shops is all about so obviously what
I want to do is kind of have a look what
people are searching for so I already
have an idea of what I think not only
people will want but what will help but
let me actually see what people are
searching for so that I make sure that
they are things that are going to sell
so first thing I'm going to do is
obviously come to the Etsy search bar
and type in let's go social media first
if I can actually spell today
uh social media okay so I can see social
media templates that's the top one okay
social media planner that's the second
one we've got signs content planner
which is a little bit more specific
posts icon strategy manager report icons
okay I'm thinking because we talked
about like this is going to be like
social media planning I think content
planner is probably too specific for
searching kind of at the moment
where we are so I'm gonna go social
media planner let's type that in search
that great okay so I'm seeing what is in
kind of coming up for that term so we
can see now the search results like the
top search results like what is coming
up now obviously this will look
different to everyone so the things you
definitely want to pay attention to are
anything that has a popular now bubble
and these are typically that kind of
yellowy creamy color as well as the best
seller badge which again is the same
color but it will say best selling so we
can see lots of popular now things so we
can see there's a notion template okay
we've got a Google Sheets template here

okay this is another Google Sheets

and are these the same no they're too
different they look similar probably
just different colors and we've got like
a PDF bundle okay and we've got another
Google Sheets here so we can see that
Google Sheets is pretty popular and
selling well and we've got another
what's this one Google sheet I've got
another PDF bundle Okay so we've got
lots of things with the popular now so
popular now great I know that these are
selling that's the first point not only
that but I can also see roughly what
people are kind of looking for and
checking out so we can see that notion
Google Sheets and like a PDF and kind of
planner are some of the top results so
based on what I'm thinking I'm thinking
along PDF plan
so let me have a look so there's this
one and this one let's have a look at

yeah let's have a look at this one
okay so here we are so I'm gonna then so
we can see already best seller badge so
not only is this not just popular now
this is a bestseller then so this is
definitely something that is selling
well it has that bestseller badge now of
course I don't recommend nor will I ever
copy one of these you know don't do that
but take this as kind of market research
why is it a bestseller and kind of like
the keywords that people are using and
use that to create your own version
obviously using everything that you
learn to create a good version so I can
see already here this is a social Media
Kit so this is like everything this is
Instagram Pinterest uh tiktok Facebook
marketing like this is a lot
um and I can already tell kind of by the
price of this this is this would be very
general and this would be kind of like
the basics which is fine that's clearly
very popular
I'm kind of thinking something slightly
different from my product but let me see
is it that what I'm thinking is a little
bit more advanced do I need to create
something a bit simpler let's have a
deep dive so already here this title
there's keywords there that I can
obviously look later on to see if those
keywords are popular and things
obviously I can have a look through the
um pictures and things to see how
they're promoting it see whether the
pictures have anything in them that I
would want to like add to my marketing
messaging
obviously price
um good one let me move myself over here
again the reviews I would definitely be
looking at the reviews like what are
people loving about this product so very
quickly I can see that people are loving
that this is a complete planner for
social media okay noted and people are
loving how much stuff is in there and
they're loving that they can mix and
match the pages okay definitely uh
formulating ideas here in my head
um and then the other thing I would want
to have a look at is you may also like
so if I whiz myself probably over here
and what else is here what is what are
Etsy kind of recommending so again we've
got some bestsellers here we've got um
another Google sheet Okay Google Sheets
are definitely popular interesting
um and then we've got some hooks some
viral video hooks so this is Tick Tock
and Instagram reels okay noted people
want help with hooks okay and we've got
notion that's Google sheet PDFs okay so
we can see that there's a mix which is
good okay
and then sometimes when you scroll down
to the bottom you can also see explore
related searches this is one of my
favorite for kind of keywords and also
kind of seeing what people are searching
for so we can see that we've got social
media planner that's what we put in but
we've also got a printable planner
that's probably a bit vague not very
helpful business plan again a bit vague
um blogger planner printable checklist I
love myself a checklist okay ideas
forming
um content planner content creator
Instagram planner Tick Tock planner
Pinterest planner planner kit okay so we
can see the Instagram planner yes people
are searching for things separately so
let's click on this let's see what we
get okay so we can see that again so
Instagram planners we're getting again
the Google Sheets the notion templates
we're getting this was very similar I
think one we've already seen
and the seller that clearly we can tell
from The Branding that this is the same
seller that we've looked at they've got
some different kits here
they're not best sellers so the other
one is selling better
and we've got a eBook here
we've got a ton of different things so
this is definitely we've got a
bestseller here so the Google Sheets
I've got some templates okay so there's
a lot there that we can think and of
course you would probably spend a good
amount of time kind of looking what's
happening in the market trying to figure
out where to go the next thing I always
do which I think is so important is to
Deep dive a little bit more specifically
into like the stuff that you don't see
and to do this I use e-rank which is not
only great for kind of figuring out what
words to put in your Etsy tags in terms
of keywords what to write in your title
but also to look at like what selling
kind of look at the competition and see
kind of what's going on behind the
scenes so let's use that exact keyword
that I already used which was social
media planner
see what's going on inside e-rank
Wicked okay so we can see keyword
statistics so for the keyword social
media planner we've got a good level of
searches so again it's showing that
people are trying to find a social media
planner great
um people are engaging with that in the
search results because of the clicks
again so this is like a traffic light
system so if it was red that would be
like lower or kind of not great and
Amber would be like in the middle and
obviously green is like good and so
average clicks is great people are
interacting with the search results and
click-through rate is obviously searches
and clicks kind of combined and the
competition is low which again is great
obviously we know Etsy is competitive
there are you know it's not just you
selling your stuff on there it's lots of
other sellers so if we can find
something that's not too competitive
that's where we want it to be
and we can even see the search Trend
here and going on so we can see that
it's actually in an increase okay good
um we can look at kind of related
keywords okay so what have we got here
we've got social media business planner
social media all in one Planner yeah we
can tell that people already were
looking for that sort of thing in terms
of the market research that we did uh
social media content planner printable
okay so that would lean probably more
towards the PDF rather than the Google
sheet and social media content planner
templates again that could be either and
printable we've got another one a
one-page social media planner okay that
might be difficult to do but okay and
we've got people searching for Trello
okay okay let's Deep dive Next Step Deep
dive into keyword so we're gonna go
social media planner I'm gonna hit
analyze analyze those search results
please
and there's a lot of data on this page
so it might just take a little bit to
load it will look similar to the other
one that we've just looked at but when
it's loaded there will be a lot more
information
here we are okay so we've already been
over this top section let's get past
that
so we can look at the hunt like top 100
listings that Etsy sorry e-rank gather
and so they look at the top like top 100
and and they will tell you like the
average price and like how many hearts
they have on average and if you're
looking at 100 listings obviously you're
looking at the best and then usually
they're not so good so the averages can
come on of b sometimes on the lower
level so just be aware of that but it's
good to kind of have a look at
we can look at the tags that everyone's
using so this is like a weird Cloud so
obviously the bigger words are the ones
that are being used the most so that
would usually suggest that they're
pretty popular again you would want to
or I would be personally looking at
those individually to see what the uh
searches and competition and things are
and but it can this is a good kind of
way to either brainstorm keywords or
again kind of go back and have a look um
in terms of market research
and we've got all those keyword ideas
here so again we can see so we've got
what was it social media planner content
planner uh Instagram planner so not many
searches for Instagram planner social
media planner is definitely more
searched for that that would kind of
make sense in terms of if people want
help planning they're probably going to
look for like General help in terms of
planning rather than specific help so
again formulating ideas
and digital planner obviously you can
see really general not a great keyword
to use because yes people are searching
for digital planners but it's super
competitive and what kind of digital
planner like what what is it like do you
want it to use every day like might be a
keyword that you add in kind of but it's
not one that you really want to rank for
because people are going to probably
extend their search so can I find a
better one is there like a digital plan
is someone
sometimes you'll find it where people
put like digital planner 2023 or digital
planner for social media like people
tend to be more specific and so that
would be a better keyword than just
digital planner
okay not gonna dive into that but
obviously I would be looking through all
those and analyzing them and seeing like
where like college planner that's
looking good uh workout planner that's
looking good
okay let me go down right down to the
bottom which is where we want to look so
then here we can see the price range so
we can see that the the most listings
are priced at eight dollars but there's
actually a lot under and there's also a
lot over so eight dollars is kind of
like the middle and in terms of the most
listings and then we scroll down and
this is what I like the most top
listings so obviously Etsy rank the
listings even if you're Incognito based
on numerous different factors and e-rank
will give you the data based on like the
pre-personalization ranking so e-rank
will show you now the top 100 listings
that match the search phrase before any
personalization has happened so if
you're looking at your results even
Incognito You'll Be Seeing Things based
on like your location where you are in
the world or where the seller is and as
well as like what you've looked at
previously like there's tons of stuff so
e-rank's great to kind of see like that
first ranking phase
um in terms of like what's matching
and kind of as much as you can like
what's selling well so they will do the
rank here I personally like to go to uh
daily views and because that's a bit
more like that's better than total views
because you could have a really old
listing that has a lot of views let's go
to daily views and and we want to see we
don't want to see the bottom one we want
to see the top one yes that's what we
want to see so here we can see in order
the the like listings that are getting
the most views
which typically and we're obviously
looking at the data can dive into it a
little bit more detailed but if they're
getting the most views that means that
people are liking what they see in the
search results and they're wanting to
click through and potentially getting
the sales
so we can see here that we saw all these
in the search results with those popular
now or bestseller badges this one we
definitely saw this was the one that we
clicked on this is that notion template
yeah so let's have a deep dive so let's
first of all have a look so we've got
this one here
the listing they're both
under like six months they're both
getting a ton of views this one's
getting like 100 views per day this was
getting 40 views per day it's got a lot
of hearts and you can see that the
prices are totally different but they
are totally kind of different price uh
products really
so let's if I let's say I'm thinking of
something like a PDF printable because
again remember those keywords and the
market research that we did let me have
a look at this one then let me deep dive
okay so now I'm on like the listing
specific so I can see that yes this is
doing well in terms of the search
results we can deep dive into how old it
is when it was created so we can see so
today when I'm filming this it's the
23rd of January because this says last
modified it's very likely now we don't
know this for certain but it's very
likely that this has sold today so if we
see last modified here this would
suggest it had that listing has renewed
because it's sold so that's a good thing
to see we know that this has sold
probably today
um and then we can see so again I'm
looking at this and I'm thinking okay
this seller has probably listed this for
the maximum quantity 999 six months ago
so very based on that
in this it's an assumption it's not fact
but if I assume that I can see that in
what just under six months this person
may have sold like 200 of these so again
I'm thinking this is definitely like
that backs up that best-selling badge
and this is backing up that best salad
badge like doing something like this
people are definitely searching for it
it's selling well this would be a good
product that I might want to add to my
shop and you even also have e-ranks
little monitor sign which lets you know
that this was seen on page one for
Instagram planner and and it also saw it
for Pinterest planner and social media
planner so thanks you rank for that
little sign we can obviously Deep dive
into the title we can see the tags that
they're using so again social media
planner that keyword's doing great
business planner interesting uh content
planner okay and then if you really want
to you can deep dive into like what the
category is the attributes the
description but obviously usually you
can see that on the Etsy page each as
well so obviously then from all that
market research keyword research and
competitor research I can kind of
formulate a plan as to what I want to
add into my shop that I have a good idea
is going to sell well not only that but
I also have keyword research so that I
can make sure that it gets seen in the
right search results by people looking
for it and of course not only can you
use this information such as keywords
for Etsy but also you can use it in
terms of your marketing so if you're
using Pinterest you've then got keywords
to go and use on Pinterest too so that
has been my process my step-by-step
process of how I find and kind of
research products that I can add to my
Etsy shop that I have a good idea are
going to sell and sell consistently and
