What is the role of Deborah in the script and why is she significant?
-Deborah is mentioned as a judge and a prophetess in the Bible, significant for being a woman in a leadership role, leading the armies of Israel and proclaiming God's word, which challenges traditional gender roles of her time.
Outlines
π Opening Prayer and Introduction to the Series
The speaker begins with a prayer, expressing gratitude for the congregation's presence and the opportunity to delve into a new series of lessons. They highlight the uniqueness of this quarter's lessons, which will explore God's work through women and youth, a topic not previously covered. The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding the roles of women in ministry and clarifies misconceptions about their positions, stressing equality in the eyes of God. The prayer also includes blessings for attendees and those who could not be present, acknowledging God's omnipotence and omnipresence.
π The Importance of Starting at the Beginning
The speaker discusses the importance of beginning at the start when introducing new topics, using the example of introducing a pastor. They emphasize that the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, is where they will start their exploration of God's work through women. The speaker clarifies misconceptions about the creation narrative in Genesis, explaining the difference between the broad overview in chapter one and the detailed account in chapter two. They set the stage for a deep dive into the role of women in faith, beginning with the creation of woman in Genesis 2:18.
π₯ The Misunderstood Role of Women and Men in Ministry
The speaker addresses common misconceptions about the roles of men and women in ministry, challenging the idea that men are dominant and women are submissive. They argue that both men and women are created in God's image and are equal, with specific roles but no hierarchy of importance. The speaker uses the phrase 'help meet' from the creation story to illustrate that women are meant to be helpers, not subordinates, to men. They caution against misinterpreting scripture to support the idea of male dominance, emphasizing that both genders are equally valuable in God's eyes.
π God's Creation: From Dirt to Dominion
The speaker delves into the creation story, discussing how God formed every beast and bird and brought them to Adam to name, granting him dominion over all creatures. They explore the idea that Adam, being the only human, initially felt alone despite the presence of all other created beings. The speaker refutes the misconception that God made a mistake by saying it's not good for man to be alone, explaining that Adam needed companionship, which is a fundamental human need. They also discuss the importance of understanding the true meaning of dominion, which is to coexist and lead responsibly, not to abuse or conquer.
π¬ The Interplay of Science and Theology in Creation
The speaker reflects on the relationship between science and theology, using the creation story as a foundation. They discuss the scientific attempts to explain the origins of life and the universe, such as the Big Bang theory and evolution, and contrast these with the biblical account of God forming every beast of the field and every fowl of the air. The speaker emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's role in creation and the order He established, rather than relying solely on scientific explanations that may not fully capture the divine plan.
π« The Creation of Woman and the Concept of 'Help Meet'
The speaker focuses on the creation of the first woman from Adam's rib, highlighting the unique nature of her creation as a companion for Adam. They discuss the misconception that men have one less rib due to this biblical account, correcting it with the fact that the number of ribs can vary among individuals. The speaker emphasizes the significance of woman being created from man, rather than from the ground like other creatures, to illustrate the special bond and equality between them.
π The Biblical Foundation of Marriage and Unity
The speaker discusses the biblical foundation of marriage, referencing the creation story where Adam declares the woman as 'bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.' They explain that this signifies the equality and unity between a man and a woman in marriage, as stated in the scripture that they shall become one flesh. The speaker also touches on the idea that the Bible, written predominantly in masculine terms due to its human authors, still conveys God's message and emphasizes the importance of interpreting scripture in its full context.
π The Importance of Context in Biblical Interpretation
The speaker stresses the importance of considering the totality of the Bible when interpreting scripture, warning against the practice of proof texting, which involves taking a verse out of context to support a particular viewpoint. They advocate for a holistic approach to understanding scripture, where one must consider the verses before and after a particular passage to grasp its true meaning. The speaker also emphasizes the need for humility in learning and teaching the Bible, acknowledging that no one has all the answers and that continuous study and openness to correction are essential.
πΈ Upcoming Lessons on Women in the Bible
The speaker previews the upcoming lessons, which will focus on various women in the Bible and their significant roles in God's ministry. They mention Deborah, who was a judge and a prophet, and emphasize the importance of studying her story to understand the role of women in leadership. The speaker also hints at the potential for misconceptions about women preaching and leading in the church, suggesting that the lessons will challenge and clarify these views.
π Closing Remarks and Call to Study Deborah
In the concluding part of the script, the speaker lightheartedly acknowledges the potential for differing views on the role of women in ministry but remains committed to presenting the biblical perspective accurately. They assign the congregation homework to study the story of Deborah in preparation for the next lesson, emphasizing the importance of diligent study and open-mindedness to new insights. The speaker also invites a closing prayer to transition into the worship service.

Transcripts
okay well good morning to
everyone glad to see everybody out today
y'all looking forward to a good time in
this series of lessons yes oh because
it's a little bit different this quarter
uh should be a pretty interesting
quarter and we'll cover that as we get
into this but as
always
yeah I'm gonna be very careful with the
things I say and do for the next 13
weeks you know because it can't be very
touchy we'll cover some deep some deep
stuff as this as the months go by um but
with that being said as always it's time
for us now to rise to our feet and as we
go to God In Prayer let's go together on
one Accord seeking some knowledge some
wisdom some understanding about these
lessons that's coming before us that we
can have a clear understanding of God's
word so shall we pray father it's once
again at this hour is once again at this
time that as always we come to you
thanking you dear Lord for allowing us
to go from one Sabbath unto the next for
we truly realize dear Lord that
throughout this week we did not rise up
on our own accord but it was by your
grace that each and every one of us are
yet here upon this day and we thank you
for it and now dear Lord as we are about
to go into another lesson we ask once
again that you would give to us each
maybe just a bit of wisdom some
understanding some some knowledge that
we all may have a better understanding
of what your word was saying at that
particular time and how it even
resonates with us even upon this very
day
we ask right now blessings upon those
that are here and those that still may
be on their way and dear Lord we ask
also special blessing upon those for
whatever reason it could be could not be
here today but we are ever so thankful
that we serve an anian God a God who
knows all that we serve dear Lord an
omnipresent God that you are in all
places yet at all time and also we serve
an omnipotent God that you are all
powerful with those words being said we
ask once again for your blessings upon
us upon this day for in Jesus name we
give this prayer amen amen amen well
folks as always like to say we have a
wonderful series of lessons that's laid
before us and I am truly looking forward
to this particular series of lessons as
I do all of them especially now because
this is a new series of lessons um each
quarter I guess you could say I enjoy
going through each and every theme but
there comes a point where a great
anticipation comes in because you want
to see what the new lessons hold for us
because we going into a different
venture this one's a little bit
different because most of the time the
subject matter that we are dealing with
we'll have a lesson here or a lesson
there and then you just move on and go
from there this is one of the rare times
we have actually a series about this
subject uh as always our new quarter it
deals with summer quarter deals with the
months of June July and that of August
uh one of the differences we have with
this court is that typically you'll find
that we have 13 lessons that are broken
down into three separate units you have
unit one unit two and unit three this
quarter is different this quarter we
only have two units and you'll find that
the first unit is covering 10 lessons
normally you may get four well three to
five typically but this time we have 10
lessons covering one subject and then we
have in unit two three lessons covering
another subject and the subject matter
that we are dealing with for the next
three months it deals with God's work
through
women yeah we never had a series on that
God's work through
women first 10 dealing with the women
and then the last two dealing with God's
work through you could say the youth now
when we speak of Youth we're not really
talking about kids we just talking about
that younger generation that's coming up
but these first 10 lessons covers
powerful subjects because you know that
house at times have been division when
it comes to women and the ministry
do we all know that you know often times
you'll find that individual will tell
you that this is your role this is your
position no your place you'll find that
when it comes to this subject matter
most people are totally wrong with their
understanding of how God placed women in
the church women in the ministry you'll
find that God made us all we'll get into
this thing you could say equal on the
same footing on the same ground when you
had the man standing here the woman
stands here there's no difference they
are equal but what we do have to
understand that God did give us specific
roles though other words there certain
things that men doing there's certain
things that women do but when it comes
to who we are we're all the same no
one's over the other one it's kind of
like I once heard a man said to his son
uh I can't remember what was going I
don't know if he was going to school or
playing a sport but it dealt with he was
telling his son he said let me tell you
one thing now
don't ever think that you are better
than anyone else that you are no better
than they but the beautiful thing about
this was he kind of waited intentionally
for the son to walk away he said Son and
also know this they're no better than
you so his words were Bas saying you're
all on the same footing on the same
ground so this is the subject matter
that we will be dealing with for the
next 13 weeks the deal with God works
through women and that of the youth now
in dealing with this lesson it always a
point of where do you start you know
because introductions are key isn't it
you don't just jump into something it's
kind of like um on many occasions I've
have been given the honor of introducing
the pastor and sometimes when you go up
to this speak thoughts run through your
mind and it always where this BR I go
where do I start do I start with Pastor
the brro Baptist Church or do I start
with Homestead Pennsylvania or do I
start with Virginia Union or do I start
with his family you kind of go where do
you start but it's always best to start
guess where Folks At the beginning
that's the easiest way to look at is at
the beginning and dealing with the
subject matter we are dealing with the
writer starts in a key spot he starts
with the beginning now after this we're
dealing with specific women in the faith
as far as our unit goes but in the
beginning he just deals with this order
of that of creation and making the woman
so you start off the beginning because
that's always the best place to start so
we're starting in the Book of Genesis as
we know Genesis is one of 39 books of
the New Testament but it's in the
category known as the tollman uh the pen
took or somewh call it the books of the
law the word itself Genesis means the
origin the beginning the start of all
things is where we
begin to give you another misconception
that's out there also is too is when you
look at Genesis at the very beginning
the first chapter deals with
what in the beginning
have you heard anything about the second
chapter and what that deals with you
might not have heard this before but
people will say or some will say that
the first chapter deals with the first
beginning the second chapter deals with
the second order of
creation which I do not Dr re understand
what they're talking about when they say
that or they'll say there's two
Creations there's no such thing as two
creation Only One Creation what you will
find is when you read chapter one it
gives you more of a hierarchy it'll say
God did this and it was good god did
this and it was good god did this and it
was good he go on and on everything he
did was what it was good and they kind
of leave it like that even to make it a
man and it was good then in chapter two
it starts off by saying some of the same
things but the only difference you'll
find is this chapter one gives you the
highlighted view chapter two goes more
into details of what was done in chapter
one it's kind of like saying of a house
you say well I built this house and so
and so and date okay great next week you
start talking about all the things you
did to bring it about it's the same sir
you didn't build two houses you're just
giving more details about it so chapter
two deals with more you could say of the
details of the matter and what God did
in the order of creation but we are in
Chapter 2 um starting at Verse 18 now
leading up to this it deals with
Disturbed creation right we all
understand that right I need not go back
through day one day two day three all
the way up to this point I hope not good
cuz we're did We're The Adult class here
okay but it gets this it goes by
starting in this 18th verse the writer
starts off by saying and the Lord God
said it is not good that man should be
alone he said I will make him and help
me for him then the writer of this book
do we understand who the writer is or
who they say the writer
is who's the writer of the Book of
Genesis
Exodus Leviticus
Numbers some of
Deuteronomy anybody
know the writer is Moses he's the writer
of the Book of Genesis act Leviticus
Numbers Deuteronomy now the reason why
we say he didn't write it at all because
in Deuteronomy they have his funeral so
there's no way you wrote that whole book
if it starts off with dealing with your
funeral but the writings leading up to
this point is attributed to him but as
with all individuals of God who he uses
in the ministry it's not really moses'
word it's God's word they never come out
and say typically you'll find a prophet
or minister or someone saying this is
what I say and I said this and I said
that there he said thus sayith the Lord
and the Lord said this and the Lord said
that here he says and the Lord God said
he letting you know here Point Blank the
order of authority in which it comes and
who it comes through in that of God you
can say to a certain extent that God is
giving uh to picky back upon the last
week lesson his witness and when you are
giving witness you're giving what we
call in the church what start with a t
you're giving your testimony now that's
good that we know we give a testimony
but if they understand things what is a
testimony what's the definition of a
testimony you're witnessing but I need a
little bit
definition life experience there you go
so other words you're giving words to
what you know to be factually true
that's the thing you you supp be telling
the truth when you get testimony but
you're speaking to what you know to be
factually true now the true part is very
important but I like the first part
you're giving your testimony to what you
know you know last week we talked about
how you don't go to the courtroom and
you have to give testimony and the words
is what happened you said what so and so
said this and so and so said that and
they told to this person this one told
to this one and blah blah blah blah blah
and this is what happening the J tab you
don't get out of here with that because
that is not your testimony that's called
gossip that's Babel you know that just
hears sing but testimony is what you
know for yourself so here the witness we
have here the testim we have here is
guess what God is stating these things
by saying and the Lord God said it is
not good that man should be
alone God stop say it's not good other
words you could say in the language what
they speak you can change that around a
little bit by saying God saying it's not
right that man should be alone that's
what he say it's not right it's not a
good thing because keep in mind with the
order of creation at this point God
created all the animals right the world
itself is
complete how many humans are there on
the Earth at this
time it's the only one and who's that
one Adam is the only one some would even
say well how can he be alone everything
else was
created but what he speaks of there is
that he is the only one of his kind you
look at the Scriptures it says and God
made the Beast after their kind the
cattle after their kind so everyone has
someone that they could relate to that
was like them but as far as Adam goes
he's technically by himself and you know
we as people
what he's saying is that man needed
companionship we all need what
companionship we were built that way but
you'll find here that Adam is considered
to be alone at this time and we always
gravitate to what it is we know right
think about it you look at how we
function uh when we all was in school or
even in school now most likely you go
into the cafeteria who's sitting with
who sitting with your friends but people
you know you can gravitate to but I'm
going a little bit more specific here
often time you find the blacks are
sitting with who the blacks the girls
are sitting with who the girls the guys
are sitting with who that's what we
gravitate toward you go to the cookout
typically it starts out all the guys
over here all the ladies over there you
know before you start Dem mingling and
whatnot that's how we function you
gravitate to that which you know the
people that you know but here Adam once
again he is considered really to be by
himself he has no one he's the only
human there and God say it's not
right that he be alone now up to this
point everything God made was what good
now he has made a mistake but it said
just it's just not right it's not good
that this individual is by himself so
therefore it said not good that man
should be alone he said I will make him
a help meet for him now here's where
things typically go some say south
here's where there's another big
misconception out there to keep you guys
right track people say here's where if
go left which is a bad scene because
everybody know this is a left-hand world
you people are right-handed y'all got
some things y issues y have to deal with
but the world should be left-handed
because I'm left-handed okay but
typically that's saying means that guess
what things are going bad because here's
where you'll find a lot of issues I'm
going say with males in God's word with
men because you know men can be not all
men okay we got this right not all men
put everybody in the same category like
people say all preach to kids are bad no
all your kids are bad don't say all the
preacher kids are bad but what you'll
find is that here in dealing with this
um
issue before us and dealing with men and
women a lot of men will come across now
at the strong point they would say you
made a help me for me you didn't make me
you didn't make me the help help me for
her so other words they put them more in
a case of dominance that I'm in control
I'm in charge when I stand here you
supposed to be
where back
there when God speaks of here to make
you help me God Made You someone that's
equal unto you you're the same in the
order of Standards you know you're not
better than me I'm not lesser than you
we all are one and the same God said he
made male and female in whose image
in God's image so you're saying that I'm
made in God's image but
yet you more than I am when I made in
God's image or vice versa you're less
than I am I made in God's image no God
made you all the same then later on God
made gave some specific roles for the
these individuals to play but as
individuals you're on the same plane no
one's above the other I think Paul when
wrote to the Church of Galatians says
that there's neither Jew nor Greek B G
nor free male or female for you all are
one in Christ and if you are in Christ
you are the Seed of Abraham and Hees
according to what the promise so those
God said you're all on the same footing
you on the same ground but often times
you find the male will try to push you
backwards which that is not God's
concept that's who's
doing that's man's doing you know even
order creation when God gave man
Dominion of the animals everybody
understand what that mean by Dominion
over there some look at as God made them
to
dominate to conquer he made your
position leadership but Dominion means
to coexist with but you are leading okay
other words you're not to abuse animals
or anything to that nature but you are
to coexist with them in Dominion but you
are the leader but man tends to take
things a little too far what's the old
saying you you give them an inch they do
what they take they take a mile yard or
how you want to add it all up but here
you'll find that no God says I will make
him and help me for him other words now
man will not be alone you have someone
there that you can identify with then
the word goes on verse 19 says and out
of the ground the Lord God formed every
beast of the field and every foul of the
air and bore them unto Adam to see what
he would call them and whatsoever Adam
called every living creature that was
the name thereof he says and out of the
ground
what came from the ground when God
created
everything pretty much everything th I
like to throw a little tricks in on you
guys because you find that the things of
the water came from the water you know
if you look at scripture you know matter
of fact let me see can I find it right
quick bear with me for one second um
Genesis 1:21 says and 20 and God said
let the waters bring forth a abundantly
the moving creatures that have
life so other words certain things came
from the sea came from the water but
with creation of the Beast and so on
from there if you go down
[Music]
to verse 24 and then it says after the
fifth day and God said let the Earth
bring forth living creature after his
kind and creeping things and beasts of
the earth after his kind and it was so
and God made the Beast of the earth
after his kind and cattle after their
kind and everything that creepeth upon
the Earth after his kind and God saw it
and that it was
good so everything now came from guess
what the ground you could say dirt in it
of
itself wish she a play on words I can
understand that to a certain extent
making something of the dirt because you
make some of the dirt you just pull
together right add a little water to it
well from our standpoint you know God
just speaks into existence but you can
mold his shape to make it to be what it
is but there One Creation that was made
his image that God technically I'm not
say didn't make it from
dirt because know what he made it from
the dust now some say is there a
difference I say yeah it's a difference
the difference is that's the lowest you
can go and it's a purpose why God did
this in other words dust is a byproduct
of dirt you can say right now okay mix
something okay you grab the dir and pull
together nma said you see that dust mix
something from
that you that's it only thing you do
with dust is write on it you know wash
this dirty cars some people put in the
windshield that's about it you can't
make anything from dust but guess who
did God did another point is this too
also we could say well God could have
made us from anything you know we as
people say he made me from rubies
Sapphire diamonds and all this great
grand stuff why did he pick dirt the
lowest of the low that buy I mean dust
the byproduct of dirt you could do
nothing with to show his omnipotent
power that I can take the least of
anything and guess what he made it his
greatest creation because that's the
only thing he said he made in whose
image in His image none of the beast of
the field none of the F of the air none
of the things of the ocean God Made In
His Image only man and God says that man
was nothing until I Breathe Into His
nostril what do you call it the breath
of life and only then did he become what
we call a living Soul so there's
distinct difference there when he talks
about God making something from the
ground here it said and out of the
ground the Lord God formed every beast
of the
field another small phrase in that say
is this who formed
it God formed it you thought about
science you know science and theology
kind of go handin hand what I mean by
that is God created everything science
kind of tries to explain how God used
what he had in existence to make it all
about it's kind like somebody who made a
cake all they was come behind and say
well he use eggs he use flour he use
sugar and all this that's all they
saying but the thing I kind of chuckled
at is that you know we know this theory
of evolution you know Darwinism and so
on from there we know
that everything according to science
everything there was some kind of
molecule or atom that split and it caus
a big bang that it created all the
galaxies it created all the stars it
created everything that we know how this
Earth supports life floating in the
middle of nothing and doesn't fly off
somewhere else it just stays in a
rotation around the Sun itself and as
Sun stays at the right distance how the
Earth tilts on its imaginary AIS and
give us the season so I mean the list
goes on and on and we haven't gotten to
ourselves yet of how we can see and how
the mind processes things how Visions
Come Through The Eyes upside down the
mind flips it over right side up how we
walk talk don't think about it I can
move my fingers don't even give it a
thought how we have immune system The
Body Works and the blood flows and the
kidneys operate and the the lungs do
this and liver do everything all this
came about about boom an explosion that
everything you see even the Mater and
cloth came from this and it's good you
could say it's good it's
perfect um I going to say I say who play
the lottery but I got that's my thought
in the Ling they give you odds don't
they they give you odds and they all you
always have a chance right I mean it's
warning 50 billion but there always a
chance my thoughts on that theory of Big
Bang there no chance that something
could happen like that and everything is
what it is there had to be some kind of
order or control that formed all these
things and the Bible tells us point
blank what it is it says here and out of
the ground
the Lord God
formed so all I'm saying this is God
made it all this what the writer deals
when top about Genesis talks about the
very beginning and what did it start
with it started with God forming
everything to be what it is that we know
today it say the Lord God formed every
beast of the field every foul of the air
and bore them unto Adam to see what he
would call them and whatever Adam called
every living creature that was the name
thereof
that doesn't need any deep expository
breakdown it basically says this
everything that God made he brought to
Adam gave him the authority Dominion you
name it whatever you want to name it and
whatever it is guess what that's what it
is and that's what we're going to go
with that short position Adam had was
unlike anything of creation that this
was made in God's image therefore he had
this right it was placed upon Him by God
it says and Adam gave verse 20 and Adam
gave names to all the cattle and to the
foul of the air and to every beast of
the field
but for Adam there was not found an help
me for him so deal that story of
creation once again this is not a second
creation it just goes near in detail
he's going back to let you know that for
him though there was
nothing there was no one for Adam you
ever been in a crowded room and fell
alone because you looked around saw none
of your people none of your family or
nobody that looked like you talk like
you like said you feel like you were
alone this is how Adam was he was still
alone for him there was nothing all he
had was the first thing that God ever
gave him and what the first thing God
gave
adam H man no first thing first thing
God gave
adam you said a
woman
life I never thought we gave gave him
life
but you're right there but he what did
God give him first thing he gave him
give some thanon next time you read the
Bible first thing God gave
men God gave him a
job he said name these animals then he
made the Garden of Eden you have to go
back to chapter one though remember
that's beginning he said now take this
garden and you got to dress it you got
to tell it you got to take care of it
firstent game was a job get to work so
all he had to keep him busy guess what
was his work naming the animals helping
out with creation and so on but in
reality guess what when the day's done
he's
alone at this point I don't see you know
in the scripture what animals
talked he's the only one that can talk
this time and he's sitting there and
that's it is what it is but it says in
verse 21 and the Lord God caused a deep
sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept and
he took one of his ribs and Clos up the
flesh instead
thereof now we're dealing with we talked
before where do we start this lesson we
say the beginning n deals with the
beginning of the creation of what
man's already
created
woman the creation that of
woman this is what I meant what I said
earlier not everything came from the
dirt not anything came from dust because
even woman herself guess where she came
from she came from the man so that's
distinct different when we say
everything came from this give a new way
to think well actually when you look at
there are some differences but
throughout it all who created everything
that's the key Point God created it all
he say he caus a deep sleep to fall upon
Adam Adam now you say is put into what
we call an unconscious
state where now he's going through let's
call it surgery he got the ultimate
Doctor you now we pray he's the one that
never lost a case and all this stuff
that's the way you want to be but now he
is put under anybody ever been under the
anesthesia you remember anything about
that we said nope that's a good thing
you don't really me think about that you
know you find here he's going through a
surgery here because said caused a deep
sleep to fall upon him and he slept and
he took one of his ribs and closed up
the Flesh and stad there Clos the
incision back up but he went through
surgery here that he didn't know
anything about and that Sur stuff is
amazing you know we got folks here in
moth and what not in the medical field
but I'm amazed at how it works you know
it's like you just blink your eyes you
know if I had a few back surgery rupture
the and whatever else but I can remember
the well doing
theosophy you know you go through that
and they said Mr Spurlock start counting
back from 10 to
one you know they said you could start
feel a little drowsy a little sleep I
said to myself 10 n she said now do you
dress and leave I'm like I didn't count
about the eight you know it's done
that's all it was just like that this
something for Adam probably the same way
he's put into his says not sleep but it
says what kind of sleep a deep sleep
he's put into it and when he goes into
the sleep he says he took one of his
what ribs and closed up the flesh
instead there took one of his ribs now
some would say they'll get too heavy
into this they took his rib because his
Rib was close to his heart his under his
arm protect you know they go through all
those analogies keep it simple God took
a rib that that's what he did he took a
rib some would try to say it was
something else relating to whatever go
off what the word says until the word
tells me otherwise I'm going to stick
with this I even heard uh moew might
help me out on this one I even heard one
time that how do you
tell a male skeleton from a woman
skeleton think about what I just what we
just
read rib what what about a rib
well that's the biggest Theory I always
heard you can always tell if was a man
or a woman let's say they found a body
the remains and they said because the
man has one less rib than the woman
has let me be like Donald Trump fake
news that's that's fake news that's
that's fake news it does not have one
less than the woman now you know
actually some people do have more you
know body canos of I guess you said 12
pair you know you have 24 ribs you know
12 on each side some have one less some
have maybe one more it doesn't cause a
problem with you but that is a known
fact to have that but it's not a case of
you look and say okay I count 23 on this
body so that's a
man 24 this a woman no that's not the
case my understanding one of the ways
they do it is by the pelvic bone because
a woman is shaped different than the man
and something about the arms being long
and so that's different ways and bone
density and things of that nature but
it's not one less real I just wanted to
say to give some clarity cuz I've heard
that over and over and over man has one
less rib than a woman
like God made the man in this fashion he
just took this one to make the woman and
it says let's see where I stop at 21 oh
and Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall
upon Adam and he slept it says and he
took one of his ribs and closed up the
flesh instead thereof other words he had
made
incision now he closes up the womb but
God now has taken this rib it says and
the rib which the Lord God had taken
from man made he a woman and B her unto
the
man I've seen sometimes with this
particular scripture is really broken
down by saying and the rib which the
Lord God had taken from the man made a
woman I'm not going to all the things
I've heard about this because it's not
one of those scripture you need to EXO
Jesus just keep it plain keep it simple
it's like I was talking to L right now I
was say Luke that rib God took from man
he took that very same rib and he made a
woman you know what L say I got you
that's it that's all it's saying but
sometime we try to put too much in the
scripture that's not really there God
just telling you what it is that he did
and how it all came about but the key
thing it says he had taken from the man
made he a woman who made him God made it
now unfortunately here you'll find in
this older King James that when it says
he and so on you know it's in lowercase
letters the new King James which I still
stick to the old one because Mak me
study harder because it's difficult the
new one you'll find that all those uh
pronouns and and whatnot are capitalized
they want you to know that they're
speaking about God but once again it
shows you in order of creation God made
everything it was nothing there was by
chance that came about and he said and
brought her unto the woman
all right men Let's Pretend the women
not here today
okay the women are not here what do you
think was the man expression when he saw
this
woman remember the women not here okay
just us talking y'all know how guys can
talk about the women and let me I know
it's uh I guess it's it's a hidden code
women talk
too when they get that little groups I
don't know what y'all say but I know
y'all talking to stuff too but what do
you think the man said he first saw this
woman there you go Mike I'm quite sure
that the man said whoa what what you
brought up in
here keep in mind when God made creation
he said it was what good you think God
brought him just anything this what God
formed himself from the man's re the
first woman to set foot on this Earth
and I guarantee you I'm a scripture
doesn't say this right okay did anybody
get that scripture doesn't say this oh
but I said this she was one of a kind I
can guarantee you that she had to be
something Milly I got like I said we
talking about women today I be careful
my adjectives I don't want something
slip out of my mouth but diing
[Laughter]
Bush oh yeah first Impressions you know
God brought this woman before him so you
can imagine now keep in mind also I
would say not about the great joy proba
was had remember he was what alone he
had not seen anything that looked in
resemblance to him and any shape form or
fashion but now God presents him with a
woman that has come from you can say
from his own body before them it says
and Adam said this is now bone of my
bone and Flesh of My Flesh she shall be
called woman because she was taken out
of
man you know I've read and I thought
about this I can I be often time you
study of Words which is known as
atmology the study of words and how they
change and move over time they were
saying woman in this original content
meant this this this this and that you
know that's what the study does it show
you how the words what they Rel meant
let's say in Latin and the Hebrew and so
on from there I'm like well how they
come up with that because keep in mind
at this time who could talk in creation
only
Adam whatever language that was came
from Who Came From God otherwi this the
first words ever spoken so how can you
say it originally came from this or that
he just said I'm G call a
woman see that's the thing we can't
fathom how these things even start but
it started with him calling her woman
the name Adam had named everything up to
this point correct nay has this woman
before him and he said this is now woman
because this is now bones of my bones
and Flesh of My Flesh she shall be
called woman because she was taken out
of
man powerful statement he's made it
shows now that they are what one they
are on equal ground they are on equal
footing there's no case of the man walks
in the front and the woman Walks Behind
no she walks beside him she is his help
me she is that of his equal here it says
therefore shall a man leave his father
and his mother and shall cleave unto his
wife and they shall be what one
flesh this goes back to often times in
the order of a marriage ceremony they
say a marriage now has taken place that
they are now one and they shall be
together some say I don't know how some
people contradict this by saying that
doesn't mean that what the next verse
says that for this cause should a man
leave his father mother and cleave unto
who his wife he consider his NE Union
here now of that of being one and that
they are on the same footing they are on
equal ground it said they shall be one
flesh there's no division here there's
no one on this side there's no one on
that side all one and the same in the
order in which God had created them and
even Christ reflects back upon this
particular scripture when they ask him
about the concept of marriage remember
he say it's the right for a man to put
away his wife and so on and he said what
did Moses say
remember who wrote This Book Moses wrote
it Moses wrote it but it came from that
of God one thing understand about the
masculinity of the Bible is that the
Bible is written by
who what gender wrote the
Bible what gender because it written by
someone who wrote the Bible man men
wrote the Bible but as we know according
to scripture according to our um
denomination of the Baptist faith we
follow the thing called The Articles of
faith and one of the Articles of Faith
the very first one deals with it says
the scriptures that we believe that the
Bible is written by men divinely
inspired by God that is God for his
author salvation for his treasure
without Truth for any mixture of er that
is supreme principle by which God shall
judge and therefore is and shall remain
it says to the end of the world so it
was written by men inspired by God but
keep in mind when a man speaks he G to
speak typically in a masculine form what
I mean by that is he and him and so on
from there it's no different that if any
one of you ladies would come up in there
and start speaking you would probably
say she her and so on you speak from
your kind from what you know so here you
find the Bible speaks the exact same way
speaks from a a male's perspective as
far as the way he speaks but yet it
still is God's word and not man's word
in verse 25 says and they were both
naked and the man and his wife and were
not
ashamed at that point God had brought
them together as one they looked at each
other as that of being equal what this
lesson has dealt with say not a whole
lot to break down this lesson it just
deal with the order of beginning and how
God created them equal that they are one
there's no separation here this
Foundation we have here set the stage
for the next 13 well after 12 lessons
that go on from here in which we deal
with different individuals
different women during each course as it
goes along but here we'll find that God
created woman he created in whose
image you sure about that I thought he
made it in Adam's image did didn't make
in Adam's image after the mail okay God
made her in His image to be man's help
me to be his companion that they two
were to be together here as it says once
again as that of one so the best place
to start with this series of lesson once
again is at the very beginning and that
pretty much FKS guess what we're little
earli today few minutes that completes
the lesson there's no deep breakdown of
this lesson it just gives us the
foundation for where we're going because
next week I think we deal with uh
Deborah one of the first judges I'mma
hold back on that because that was
unheard of for her to be in this
position then I think we deal with uh a
couple lesson there dealing with Ruth
Naomi and and so on from there and Boaz
which is a very powerful lesson but it
all deals with Women of Faith and how
God used women to work in the
ministry as we go along we're going to
run across some subjects that some men
go CU you know some men you let a woman
come in that pull
pit you hear cars in the park like
spinning wheels they say I got to
go I'm going explain all
that dealing with let's say the the
preaching part of it also pastorial
leadership and all those things because
you have to understand when you study
the Bible you have to look at the what I
call it the totality of the Bible what I
mean by that is totality means complete
but you'll find what people do one thing
they'll get one particular thing and
they'll stay right on that but keep in
mind when you have a a scripture before
you there's also a scripture after it
and a scripture before it so you have to
read the whole thing you can't just take
one verse and try to proof text it to
prove what it is you're trying to say
see the Bible I've spend this many time
before when you proof text something you
have to do the right way
the wrong way to prove text is that you
take a scripture that show what it is
you're saying y'all got me that is the
wrong way to interpret proof text other
words you're trying to prove something
by the text is you take that scripture
to prove what it is you are saying
you're doing it all wrong cuz you know
why you are taking that scripture there
and prove what it is you have to say and
when we try to prove what we have to say
we could go through any length to do it
the right way to prove text is this you
take a select scripture and you show
what God is saying that's the point it's
what God is saying not what you are
saying you know I learned this from long
time ago I'm G keep bringing it up there
was a a young fellow sitting right over
here by name of do AES he said when you
teach that Bible use scripture and
interpret it correctly because therefore
if anybody in this exact words want to
debate you want to argue with you you
can saywell you tell me different what
God says because I've said before here
teaching is not not hard it's not hard I
stand up here and teaching Pastor say
words over there
D not good D SP oh he's such a great
teacher and all us all I'm doing reading
all the
scripture God deserves the credit I just
take what it says and put it before you
but you have to study it to make sure
you are saying it correctly this is what
the scripture says when someone goes
against it okay well you have to show
now what the scripture say otherwise
because right now what I'm hearing is
what you are saying not what God is
saying so there is a distinct difference
between proof text and correctly and
wrongly the wrong way to prove text is
once again to take what it is in
scripture and show what it is you are
saying that's the wrong way to prove
texting the right way is take that
scripture and show what God is saying
and when you see what God is saying you
have no other choice but to believe what
is placed before you once again we're
dealing with 13 weeks here first 10
lesson dealing with the women that God
use in the ministry and the important
role that they have in this ministry
that is equal to what man does in the
same Ministry because whose Ministry is
it
anyway it's God's Ministry and the word
Minister means
what what does Minister mean let me
happy out God said I came to minister or
Christ not to be ministered to talk
about serving all you're doing is
serving remember when Jesus came up
missing when he was 12 years old they
said where were you he said know you not
that I'm about whose business he said my
father's business always about that of
serving so we're dealing with once again
at this caring this lesson 10 lessons
the importance of women in the Bible
then the last three oh they deserve just
much important the youth that God works
through because we know we older folks
tend to be hard on who the youth boy you
still wet behind the ears you don't know
nothing you don't know this this is why
Paul wrote the uh Timothy and Titus it's
called the Pastoral Epistles and he
thoughts all by saying do not be afraid
and do not back up I'm paraphrasing off
those who consider your youth because
what you have was young ministers before
a congregation but the older people
didn't want to hear what they had to say
cuz they looked them as being too young
so therefore they were hindering God's
work from going forth so the last three
lesson deals with the important role of
Youth and how God uses the younger in
serving in his church now next week
lesson I haven't bought it up but
somebody help me out here with your
books that should be dealing with
Deborah if I'm not mistaken you know a
little insight to Deborah Deborah was a
judge now we talk about Judge we're not
talking about someone who was a judge of
the judicial system and the appic court
so from there no no no no there was a
difference you'll find that when you're
dealing with a judge here the judge does
not judge judicial matters but the judge
was actually the leader of the Armed
Forces of Israel so other words they
commanded the armies and guess who's
command normies this
time a
woman whoa that that is extremely
unheard of especially during that time
so I'm going to study because Helen is
going to try to cut me down when I said
the wrong thing about women I
got 12 weeks ago I got to think twice
before I speak each and every time
because you know y'all far outnumber us
but I can tell you this nobody can run
fast than I can I still got my speed so
I'm not scared of you guys okay but next
week your homework is to read that
section of the Bible dealing with
Deborah who was a judge but one thing
too I want get a hit of my lesson here
that's not talked about it says she's
also was a propheus we talk about this
prophet and prophetic words and all she
was a propheus a woman proclaiming God's
word like I said some men if they would
invited to this Sunday school session
right there next week I'm talking about
a woman preaching they would say I'm out
of
here because they have a
misinterpretation of God's word often
time based upon guess what somebody's
error in their teaching and the things
that Came Upon them we all can learn can
we I've always said before when I say
something in P this class I study hard
each week guys study hard and sometime
might be wrong but as Charles Bary book
said I doubt it because I study hard so
I don't want to be wrong but if I am
wrong see me after class explain to me
say Ken you say so and so I've always
saw this and I said where guess what I'm
GNA study what you said and I'm not so
hard I can't come this week say guess
what someone came to me and explained
this to me and all this time I've been
in error because it's my mandate to keep
you the right and most accurate
information that can so I would tell you
I messed up on this one but this is what
it actually means based upon further
studies but that's how we he Sunday
school is for what for learn nobody has
all the answers and if a teacher stand
before you and say they have all the
answers it's time for you need to get up
and leave because there a problem right
there they have all the answers but once
again that's our home next week to study
some things about uh this Phenomenal
Woman known as Deborah the judge but
also a what a Propst that's part I'm
going try to hint upon she was a Propst
but with that being said let us rise to
our feet and Di and Bush if you will
give us a closing word of prayer to
bring us into the worship service
