You don't wanna go too big in a slow year.

I say that this is the year of learning,

not necessarily earning.

2020 and 2021 we're paved thanks to 2017, 2018, 2019,

which were slower.

The market goes up and down.

So you kinda look at it like if you're into sports,

this is like the off-season,

and everybody wants to be prepared

for the on-season or you should want to be prepared.

You wonder why he is so good at free throws in the game,

it's because he used the off-season to his advantage.

I was like, oh, those people are addicted.

They need, you know, extra energy.

For me, I've become what I hated, you know.

It's partially because I'm traveling all over the place.

I will use the off-season, I will learn in a slow market.

And I'm not saying just turn off your laptop,

don't look at the market,

I'm saying look every day,

you can trade too but trade with smaller size,

be more conservative.

I'm cutting losses quicker.

I'm taking games quicker.

You know, I'm up a little over a hundred thousand

in 2022.

2021, at this time, I was up over a million at this point.

So some people would be like,

wow, Tim, you're trading terribly this year.

You've made 1/10th of what you made last year.

Yes, I'm trading less, I'm trading smaller,

but I'm staying safe.

Remember right now in 2022 as I'm filming this,

the NASDAQ is down nearly 30%.

That's pretty much all the tech companies

are down 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80%.

The S&P 500 is down 20%.

Almost all the big companies are down 15, 20, 30, 40%.

Like it's a really tough year.

I'm green on the year.

I might not be hugely green

but there is opportunity to earn.

And more importantly, like I said,

this is the year of learning.

So yes, I'm using more caffeine.

I'm addicted to coffee, I admit it.

it's not just like, oh, I think the chart is good,

I think the company is good.

and sometimes I'm not, sometimes I get emotional and cocky,

if I'm disciplined and I'm using my skillset,

I have better odds of success

than somebody who doesn't have my experience

or who hasn't put in the time optimizing their process.

I'm not saying this to be, you know egotistical

or narcissist.

I'm saying that preparation matters.

The more prepared you are, the better.

You can't control when the market is gonna heat up or not.

You don't know.

I don't know.

But you can control your preparation.

This is why I say I hope the market is slow

through 2022 through 2023.

That gives you more time to prepare.

and really study through the next two years,

maybe you'll crush it in 2024 or 2025.
