I know you Ellen I watch I watch this

show so it's not my first time on here

I've been here a lot of times in your

head you've been here in my well we'll

say in my head but we won't say that

little cubby hole

we've got to get better security around

here I am a huge fan so it's so nice to

meet you and this is really

I can imagine a a different cast of for

Ghostbusters but um except I would have

been it but

oh I don't have that kind of time but it

I mean I would have made it but um so

when you so who's who signed on first

who said yes and then who heard

you don't I I don't know who was first I

just kept stalking uh back and forth in

front of Paul's house being like I can

do it

different disguises yeah

but always with like a ghost balloon

being like

that's how I get my parts so then you so

then and then did you hear I mean did

anyone

and you were just in yeah we just got

the call I I didn't believe it I would

when they said that they were going to

do a women Ghostbusters I believe that

because I was like oh that's great but

then when I got the call from Paul I was

like uh yeah somebody's pulling my leg

and then it was real it's unbelievable

it's great and Kate I had a meeting with

Paul

um I said a lot of stuff

um and then and then got a call a couple

months later after having stalked him as

well I've ran into Melissa we had a

couple of drinks

no but I heard about it and I I thought

oh my God that is the most incredible

idea for a project and

um it probably means that I'd get to

wear a pants suit and all summer I gotta

get it

because not all movies you can wear

pants in not a very if you look

historically it's very very few uh

movies so and just

so dramatic just the opportunity to be a

woman and play a scientist in a movie is

as something that does not pop up as

often as it probably shouldn't so yeah

no it was so exciting and I uh it's

fantastic now you two have known each

other because of Bridesmaids and you go

way back you two know each other from

Saturday Night Live obviously

so and so you're you know each other

like well you hung out this is my

she legally changed my middle name to

Leslie's

but we had known each other for about a

year and um because she had been a

writer at SNL for before she was before

and we happened to be out to dinner and

she was she looked at me and she was

like

Kate Middleton you all right

oh my God

Leslie it's McKinnon you've known me a

year

and then I was like well who is

Middleton then

and then she was like it's a princess

so Leslie I didn't know you were a

writer before you were a performer I

just know you as a performer but I

understand there's many many jobs you've

had I think we've all had crazy jobs

before we got lucky enough to to do this

for a living but you were a telemarketer

for Scientology

I'm not a scientist

for blowing my coverage

and it was a very easy interview I just
