hey guys what's up welcome
back to this youtube channel it's your
guy igor here today's video
i want to tell you guys why i stopped
driving for uber
in canada here in the end of 2020
2021 and where lots of my friends in
toronto
vancouver edmonton
and even some guys in montreal also
stopped why so many people are stopping
to drive for uber i want to explain to
you guys
why i stop i cannot speak for them so
here's the situation guys
well first thing is well it doesn't pay
much
it looks like it does it looks like it
does
but really once you start calculating
the gst that you are
you know taxes that you are collecting
on behalf of uber
it feels makes you feel good like you
are making that money
for yourself but in reality you
are also collecting taxes for the
government so you have to deduct that
on top of everything well you have to
pay for write share insurance
and ride share insurance is basically
like 30 more expensive than your regular
one
so i had to pay more for the insurance
on top of it guys you spend a lot of
time waiting
some hours well even some hours it gets
to a point where you don't make much
money at all it's not guaranteed how
much money you can make within an hour
it's just an average you can make a
certain amount of money
so you're not even guaranteed to pay to
make
a minimum wage there now on top of
everything guys
after you deduct all the taxes and how
many hours you worked and how much money
you made
with uber guys you also have to deduct
the amortization of your car how many
kilometers you are putting into your car
so basically you are paying a lot of
money for maintenance because of putting
all those kilometers
and if you have a loan on your car it
comes to a point where you are just
you're not actually getting paid where
you are
actually just depreciating your car
so for example you have a loan in your
car right you spend
30 thousand dollars for a new car and
then it depreciates over time
and by driving for rubber it depreciates
faster because you put more kilometers
plus
maintenance and all of that
that comes with the gas cleaning liquids
because you have to clean it after the
passengers and everything so
disinfecting the car all these things
including masks
you know right now is the pandemic i'm
not even talking how dangerous it is
right now
because of difficulty to maintain social
distancing
within your car and raising the same
oxygen people are
having and until they made it mandatory
this year to wear masks
lots of people still refuse to wear
masks in uber too that's another thing
but i'm just saying that the
amortization the depreciation of your
car
your b it basically felt to me that
because
you are just getting paid out the money
for
your car becoming older and for your car
becoming cheaper so basically it
you are losing money on the value of
your car
and in a way uber reimburses you for the
maintenance
and the lost value of your car and
doesn't really com
really compensate you for the amount of
hours you work
so that's the reason why i personally i
realized that it's not worth it for me
personally you might find it otherwise
i'm not encouraging or discouraging or
discreditating anything
and it's personally my opinion guys i
want to emphasize it on this video
just so that uber doesn't go suing me
for this kind of commentary on on
youtube on my channel so i'm telling you
guys it's in my personal opinion
and that's why i decided to stop
driving for uber i have sold my car
i'm not going to be registering my my
other car
with uber i'm not going to be getting
the tndl license i'm not going to be
spending any more money for it
or any more time driving for uber and
that's my story guys that's why i
drove less and less and less over the
years and finally i concluded that
at this point where there's so many uber
drivers where
you're getting paid less than before it
came to a stage where
you're depreciating your car you're not
guaranteed anything you're not an
employee
you're self-employed you have a bunch of
expenses all of the liabilities on you
and uber are still making 25
on it and basically i found that it's
not worth it
of my time and that's why i start just
decided to
give you these guys an update also
i feel that i have created too many
videos about uber guys
and because of it even though i'm not
driving anymore people are still
thinking that i am by watching those
old videos of mine that i posted over
the last three years
i'm going to be taking those videos down
as well
because i don't want people to feel that
they were
misled by those videos so i'm going to
be taking down a lot of content
from the internet so that people don't
feel that
they joined uber because i said good
things at that time
when it was actually good at that time
it was decent money
and it was more money less drivers and
no covey no problem so right now i just
realized that yeah
carl lost a lot of value and it's not
worth it and
yeah i quit i'm not doing uber anymore
but i'm still doing
youtube guys so make sure you subscribe
to this channel if you haven't already
guys i'll see you next video i just want
to share this information
i think it's important and i feel bad
that if you might have just joined it
because you watched one of my old videos
and you see this video now sorry about
that yeah
i'm going to take them down i know how
long time it's going to take but i will
take them down
see you guys next video bye for now
