Q & A

  • What are the three ways mentioned in the script to reprogram the subconscious mind?

-The script outlines cognitive restructuring, visualization, and affirmations as the three ways to reprogram the subconscious mind.

  • How does the conscious mind differ from the subconscious mind in terms of cognitive activities?

-The conscious mind is responsible for day-to-day thoughts, decisions, and actions in the moment, accounting for roughly 5% of cognitive activities. The subconscious mind, however, stores memories, beliefs, habits, and operates automatically, accounting for approximately 95% of mental activities.

  • What is neuroplasticity and how does it relate to changing one's mindset?

-Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to form new connections and reorganize existing ones, allowing individuals to learn new skills, change habits, and alter limiting beliefs. It's the scientific basis for the idea that one can change their thought patterns and behaviors at any point in life.

  • What is cognitive restructuring and how does it help in reprogramming the mind?

-Cognitive restructuring is a technique used in cognitive behavioral therapy that involves identifying and replacing irrational and negative thoughts with more positive ones. It helps in reprogramming the mind by challenging and changing thought patterns that impact emotions, behaviors, and actions.

  • How does visualization contribute to reprogramming the subconscious mind?

-Visualization involves creating mental images of desired goals, actions, and the associated feelings. It's a powerful tool that can reprogram the subconscious mind by training oneself to believe in the possibility of achieving those goals, which in turn increases motivation and commitment.

  • What role do affirmations play in reshaping one's thought patterns?

-Affirmations are positive statements that one repeats to themselves. They help reshape subconscious beliefs and thought patterns by reinforcing desired mental states and behaviors, leading to improvements in self-esteem, stress reduction, and overall well-being.

  • What is the significance of the 5% conscious mind in the process of self-change?

-The conscious mind, although it accounts for only about 5% of cognitive activities, plays a significant role in self-change because it is responsible for making decisions and taking actions in the moment. It is the part of the mind that can initiate the process of reprogramming the subconscious mind.

  • How does the subconscious mind affect our daily habits and actions?

-The subconscious mind, which accounts for approximately 95% of mental activities, stores habits and beliefs and operates automatically. It significantly impacts our daily habits and actions because it regulates emotions and carries out the majority of daily tasks on autopilot.

  • What is the importance of awareness in the process of reprogramming the mind?

-Awareness is the first step in reprogramming the mind. It involves recognizing what aspects of oneself one wishes to change and what new patterns or behaviors one wants to adopt. Without awareness, it is challenging to make conscious decisions to change thought patterns and behaviors.

  • How does the process of repetition contribute to lasting change in one's mindset?

-Repetition is essential for lasting change because it reinforces new neural pathways in the brain. By consistently practicing new patterns of thought and behavior, the brain eventually adopts them as the new norm, leading to long-term changes in mindset and habits.

  • What is the relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind in terms of decision-making?

-The conscious mind is responsible for making decisions in the moment, but these decisions are heavily influenced by the subconscious mind, which stores beliefs, habits, and memories. The subconscious mind can drive automatic thoughts and feelings, which then may be consciously acknowledged and acted upon by the conscious mind.

Transcripts

play00:00

welcome to today's video today I'm going

play00:01

to teach you three different ways to

play00:04

reprogram your subconscious mind to

play00:06

create the life that you want let's dive

play00:08

in I'm going to be giving you three ways

play00:10

to reprogram your mind listen you're

play00:14

here because you know if you want your

play00:15

life to be different you have to change

play00:18

right if you want your life to change

play00:19

you have to change

play00:22

but then it starts getting really hard

play00:25

it's not really easy to change uh the

play00:28

key to achieving success in any area of

play00:30

your life comes from your ability to

play00:33

change yourself and a lot of times

play00:35

changing yourself comes from changing

play00:36

your mind first reprogramming your mind

play00:39

to change your old patterns to change

play00:41

your old beliefs your old programs and

play00:44

your thoughts your habits and your

play00:46

beliefs are your driving forces behind

play00:48

your actions and that will then

play00:50

determine your outcome so if you can

play00:53

understand the psychology and the

play00:54

science that's behind mental

play00:57

reprogramming then you can start to take

play00:59

char of your life and create the future

play01:02

that doesn't look like your past because

play01:04

if you do nothing and you just continue

play01:06

to do the same things that you have been

play01:08

doing nothing will change your tomorrow

play01:11

will look exactly like yesterday until

play01:13

the day you die and so in this episode

play01:15

we're going to really talk about how to

play01:16

reprogram your mind to kind of get

play01:19

anything that you want and I'm not going

play01:21

to just tell you from like some Foo fooy

play01:24

woo wooy type of way hey you can get

play01:26

anything you want like I'm actually

play01:28

going to teach you proven psychological

play01:30

techniques and use scientific evidence

play01:32

because I'm a a very skeptical person if

play01:36

you're listening to this podcast you

play01:37

probably the type of person that's like

play01:39

that as well and so uh that's probably

play01:41

why you're attracted to this podcast

play01:43

because you're probably very skeptical

play01:44

but also wanting to improve yourself and

play01:46

so we're probably both Skeptics and so

play01:48

I'm going to show you through science

play01:50

and through psychology how to actually

play01:52

start reprogramming your brain so the

play01:54

first thing that I want to talk about

play01:55

that before I teach you how to do it is

play01:57

you have to really understand what it is

play01:59

that we're trying to change you have to

play02:00

understand your mind before we dive into

play02:02

the process of reprogramming you got to

play02:05

understand how the mind works right and

play02:07

so the Mind consists basically of two

play02:09

parts when you break it down there's the

play02:12

conscious mind and there's the

play02:13

subconscious mind the conscious mind is

play02:15

responsible for just day-to-day thoughts

play02:18

decisions actions in the moment and the

play02:21

subconscious mind really stores a lot of

play02:23

memories it stores beliefs it stores

play02:25

habits and it kind of works very

play02:27

automatically and it's you know below

play02:30

mind which is why they call it the

play02:31

subconscious mind so let's dive into the

play02:34

conscious mind first the conscious mind

play02:36

is our thinking mind it is the mind that

play02:38

you know that exists that thinks

play02:40

throughout the day it's the voice that

play02:42

you hear inside of your head oh man I

play02:44

should go get the kids before I you know

play02:46

go ahead and do this oh yeah well that's

play02:48

that's your that's your conscious mind

play02:49

that's your thinking mind it's where we

play02:51

process information it's where we make

play02:53

decisions where we talk to oursel but

play02:55

the crazy part about the conscious mind

play02:57

is that it accounts for roughly about 5%

play03:00

of our cognitive activities throughout

play03:02

the day and so it's it's very limited

play03:05

and it's just basically like okay tell

play03:07

me what to do and I'll do it okay tell

play03:08

me what to do and I'll do it and so you

play03:11

might ask yourself like how how is it

play03:12

only responsible for 5% I know all of

play03:15

the thoughts that I'm thinking

play03:16

throughout the day well no you don't you

play03:19

know all of the conscious thoughts and

play03:21

so this is why we can often really

play03:22

struggle when we are trying to change

play03:25

ourselves and we're trying to change our

play03:27

habits and we're trying to change our

play03:28

thought patterns is we are only mostly

play03:30

aware of our conscious mind our and our

play03:33

conscious mind can only handle so much

play03:34

at once and we normally do not slow down

play03:37

enough to analyze our subconscious most

play03:40

people keep so busy that they don't slow

play03:43

down enough and sit in silence and just

play03:47

shut up for a little while so that they

play03:49

can actually start to analyze their

play03:51

subconscious mind to analyze their

play03:54

patterns that they have that are

play03:55

happening below the surface if you want

play03:58

real change you can't just do it with

play04:00

the conscious mind you have to dive into

play04:02

the subconscious and so when you look

play04:04

into the subconscious mind so let's talk

play04:06

about the subconscious mind for a second

play04:08

so the subconscious mind is responsible

play04:10

for approximately

play04:12

95% of our mental activities it operates

play04:16

automatically it stores memories it

play04:18

stores your beliefs it stores your

play04:20

habits and you usually operate off of

play04:23

those things and you know sometimes

play04:25

it'll just be an immediate action you

play04:27

know like you know um to when the stove

play04:30

is on to avoid it with your hand you

play04:32

don't have to consciously think I don't

play04:34

want to put my hand on the stove no your

play04:36

your brain knows that you've you've been

play04:38

burned before in different ways you know

play04:40

to avoid that but the most important

play04:42

thing that it's responsible for is for

play04:44

regulating your emotions and also

play04:46

carrying out the majority of your daily

play04:48

tasks because they found that

play04:50

psychologists have found that

play04:51

approximately 50% of what we do is

play04:54

basically on autopilot like we're not

play04:56

really paying attention if you've ever

play04:57

driven home from work and you were going

play04:59

to stop and get some milk and then you

play05:01

get home and you're like oh my god I

play05:02

didn't even stop and get milk and you're

play05:04

like wait I don't even really remember

play05:05

driving home yeah cuz your your

play05:07

subconscious mind your your autopilot

play05:09

was working and so our subconscious has

play05:12

a massive massive impact on our lives

play05:15

and very rarely do people actually dive

play05:17

in and try to focus on it and so it's

play05:19

really important for us to focus on

play05:21

reprogramming this part of our mind if

play05:23

we want lasting change because that's

play05:24

where our habits that's where our

play05:25

beliefs are all stored and so there's

play05:29

there you have to understand that

play05:30

there's throughout the day millions of

play05:32

bits of processing happening every

play05:35

second in your mind below your conscious

play05:38

thought of hey maybe I should go and

play05:40

pick up coffee on the way to work right

play05:43

that's your conscious mind but below

play05:44

that there's millions of bits of

play05:46

processing happening every single second

play05:48

below that conscious mind below

play05:50

conscious subconscious that's what it

play05:52

means so if you're not paying attention

play05:54

to it you usually don't even notice the

play05:56

subconscious and sometimes your brain

play05:58

will say for for instance react to a

play06:01

person or a location or a smell and you

play06:04

didn't even know happen until after it

play06:06

happens and you're like oh my god I

play06:08

didn't even notice that I just did that

play06:10

your subconscious reacts and then a lot

play06:13

of times your mind your conscious mind

play06:16

catches up a lot of times it's an

play06:18

immediate thing it's an immediate

play06:20

thought automatic thoughts automatic

play06:22

feelings and then your mind your

play06:24

conscious mind is like oh okay I see

play06:26

what we just did like if I tell you

play06:28

right now focus on your right thought

play06:30

your brain was processing your right

play06:33

thumb this entire time I've been

play06:35

speaking but it was filtering it out so

play06:38

that you could be listening to me so you

play06:40

be thinking of something else so you

play06:41

could be driving your car it wasn't

play06:43

thinking about your right thumb but when

play06:45

I tell you right now hey think about

play06:48

your right thumb you can go from

play06:49

subconsciously processing your brain is

play06:51

processing your right thumb at all

play06:52

points in time it's just filtering it

play06:53

out to now you can actually start to pay

play06:56

attention to it and so really what you

play06:58

have to understand is the mind so before

play06:59

we start to change our mind we've got to

play07:02

understand the conscious we've got to

play07:03

understand the

play07:04

subconscious once again subconscious is

play07:07

95% of our processing throughout the day

play07:10

that's 19 times stronger than the 5%

play07:13

conscious mind and so you've got to

play07:16

start to understand it to change your

play07:17

brain now a lot of people if you're just

play07:20

newer in self-development are going to

play07:21

be like but I've been this way my entire

play07:23

life I just am this way well you can

play07:26

change yourself at any moment you can

play07:27

change your brain at any moment there's

play07:28

a science behind it it's called

play07:30

neuroplasticity Neuroscience has proven

play07:32

that our brains are not hardwired

play07:34

forever the phrase you can't teach an

play07:36

old dog new Trix is you can

play07:38

teach an old dog new tricks might take

play07:40

longer because it's an old dog and an

play07:42

old brain but anyone can learn and

play07:44

change thems at any moment um so we have

play07:48

to understand that um and so the the

play07:50

changing of your brain and the ad uh

play07:53

adaptation of your brain is known as

play07:56

neuroplasticity uh it is super important

play07:58

I have an entire chapter of it in my

play08:00

book level up it's chapter 11 where I

play08:02

literally dive into neuroplasticity and

play08:04

how to actually change your brain um and

play08:07

and when you change your brain it means

play08:09

that your brain can form new connections

play08:11

and reorganize existing ones and so what

play08:14

that does that allows you to learn new

play08:16

skills it allows you to change your

play08:17

habits it allows you to change your

play08:19

limiting beliefs anything that that

play08:21

might be existing and so like if you're

play08:23

a negative person like I used to be a

play08:24

very very negative person um and I hated

play08:27

it I was very pessimistic I could find

play08:29

the whole and anything and and I just

play08:31

didn't like being that person and for a

play08:34

long time it was just very easy for me

play08:36

to be negative something would pop up I

play08:38

was just an I would be negative

play08:39

whatever it was and I consciously had to

play08:42

take years of trying to change it trying

play08:44

to reprogram yourself trying to change

play08:46

it and now it's it's crazy for me to

play08:48

think I've been working myself now for

play08:50

18 19 years and it's really hard for me

play08:53

to be pessimistic at this point it's

play08:55

hard for me to not try to find a silver

play08:57

lining in something no matter what it is

play08:59

that happen happens and so it doesn't

play09:01

happen right away but it it it allows

play09:03

you to be able to change because uh in

play09:06

Neuroscience the most famous phrase in

play09:08

Neuroscience is neurons that fire

play09:09

together wire together your neurons just

play09:11

send electrical signals between each

play09:13

other and so when they say fire together

play09:14

that means send electrical signals to

play09:16

each other so there's parts of your

play09:18

brain that are quote unquote the

play09:19

negative alleys that are just very easy

play09:22

for your brain to go down that alley and

play09:24

so you might not really have much of a

play09:26

positive alley for your brain to go down

play09:28

but if you start working on and trying

play09:29

to find the good and trying to find the

play09:30

good and trying to find the good and

play09:31

stop paying attention to the negative

play09:33

it'll actually weaken the signal between

play09:35

the negative neurons quote unquote

play09:37

negative neurons and start strengthening

play09:38

the signal between the positive neurons

play09:40

which over time doing it over and over

play09:42

and over again repetition is a very key

play09:44

part to what we're going to be talking

play09:45

about here today if you do it over and

play09:47

over and over again it makes the actual

play09:49

quote unquote positive neurons the

play09:51

positive Alleyways uh much stronger than

play09:54

the negative ones over time so you might

play09:57

be sitting there and say so Rob we can

play09:59

change our brains through

play10:01

neuroplasticity if we can change our

play10:02

brains through neuroplasticity can we

play10:04

like rewire our brains for success or

play10:07

rewire our brains for happiness or

play10:09

rewire our brains to feel more love or

play10:11

more gratitude absolutely you sure can

play10:15

and we just need to be very clear on

play10:17

what's happening in our brain at all

play10:19

points in time we need to become very

play10:21

aware um and so we need to be clear on

play10:23

what thoughts are going on our heads

play10:24

what behaviors we have what habits we

play10:26

have that we need to change in order to

play10:28

eventually change our lives and so a lot

play10:31

of times most people are just kind

play10:33

of living their lives unaware they're

play10:35

kind of just uh walking zombies they're

play10:38

not aware and consciously in their self

play10:42

as much as they could be and so as you

play10:43

start to bring this awareness you start

play10:45

to notice things about yourself that you

play10:46

can change over time but if we

play10:48

consistently practice these new patterns

play10:50

our brains will eventually adopt them

play10:52

and they will become the new norm and so

play10:54

there's really three parts to this

play10:56

before we go into the the the

play10:58

repatterning um in exactly how to do it

play11:00

but there's three simple parts that I

play11:02

always talk about right the first thing

play11:03

is the awareness right number one what

play11:05

do you want to change about yourself and

play11:08

what do you want those new things to be

play11:10

so you've got to become aware you know

play11:11

what I'm negative as hell it makes and

play11:14

I'm I'm spewing my negativity and

play11:16

vomiting my negativity all over other

play11:18

people I don't want to be negative

play11:19

anymore okay what do I want to be I want

play11:20

to be positive I want to be grateful I

play11:22

want to be more loving cool that's

play11:24

awareness well now when you notice

play11:25

yourself starts become more negative and

play11:28

pop up and be negative in moments

play11:30

awareness needs to come back in so you

play11:32

have to have the awareness which is

play11:33

number one number two is practice and

play11:36

number three is repetition so let me

play11:37

explain it and then we we'll dive into

play11:39

it so awareness number one two practice

play11:42

three repetition awareness what do I

play11:44

want to change and what do I want to

play11:45

change it to when I notice myself go

play11:48

down the alley that I don't want to go

play11:49

down two what is my practice what am I

play11:52

going to do to get myself out of that

play11:54

old awareness that I was in or the old

play11:56

patterns that I was in and what am I

play11:57

going to change them to and number three

play12:00

repetition I do it over and over and

play12:01

over and over and over and over and over

play12:03

again hundreds and hundreds thousands

play12:04

and thousands hundreds and thousands of

play12:06

times and eventually you start to just

play12:07

repattern yourself so awareness what is

play12:10

it that you want to change and you

play12:11

become aware in the moment practice what

play12:13

am I going to do so let's say that your

play12:15

awareness is that you are very

play12:16

judgmental and you don't want to be

play12:17

judgmental anymore okay cool well then

play12:19

when I notice myself be judgmental what

play12:22

is my practice and I've said shared this

play12:24

with you before I've done this where I

play12:25

would found myself being very judgmental

play12:27

when I would judge somebody my practice

play12:30

was in that moment I would force myself

play12:31

to say three things that were positive

play12:34

about that

play12:35

person so awareness I'm noticing that

play12:37

I'm negative and I'm being judgmental on

play12:39

this person what is my practice that

play12:41

I've already decided I'm going to say

play12:42

three positive things about this person

play12:44

and then three so that's awareness

play12:46

practice number three is repetition I'm

play12:47

going to do it over and over and over

play12:48

and over and over again every single

play12:50

time I notice myself being judgmental so

play12:53

that's what you have to understand

play12:54

awareness practice repetition okay now

play12:58

let's talk about the techniques to

play12:59

reprogram your mind the first one is

play13:00

called cognitive restructuring cognitive

play13:02

restructuring is a technique that's used

play13:05

in cognitive behavioral therapy CBT uh

play13:08

that involves identifying and replacing

play13:11

irrational and negative thoughts with

play13:13

the thoughts that you want kind of like

play13:15

what I was just saying right there with

play13:16

okay I've noticed that I'm judgmental

play13:18

now I need to replace with what I want

play13:20

and so this process helps you um

play13:23

recognize the impact of your thoughts

play13:26

and the patterns that you have on your

play13:27

emotions on your behaviors on the world

play13:30

around you and really starts to um equip

play13:34

you with the tools that are necessary to

play13:36

challenge and change those patterns I've

play13:39

said this many times in the podcast but

play13:41

when you notice a a a thought come into

play13:43

your head get really good at challenging

play13:45

that thought like test the validity of

play13:47

that thought and just start to challenge

play13:49

yourself try to see the other side try

play13:51

to play devil's advocate for the other

play13:53

side of where you're normally thinking

play13:54

and so when you start to to do um

play13:57

cognitive restructuring it's here's

play14:00

something I've noticed about myself that

play14:01

I don't want anymore I'm going to

play14:03

identify them and I'm going to replace

play14:04

them uh in the moment when I notice them

play14:07

pop up with the thoughts that I want I'm

play14:09

going to do it over and over and over

play14:11

again and there are tons and tons and

play14:13

tons of studies that have shown the

play14:14

effectiveness of cognitive restructuring

play14:16

in treating variety of of psychological

play14:19

disorders so like depression anxiety uh

play14:22

obsessive compulsive disorder and so

play14:25

when you actually start to get really

play14:26

good at practicing cognitive

play14:27

restructuring you can reprogram your

play14:30

mind to think whatever it is you kind of

play14:32

want more positively less judgmental

play14:35

more loving more more grateful which in

play14:38

turn is going to give you a greater

play14:40

sense of confidence and makes you more

play14:42

likely to take action uh which is a cool

play14:45

part about it so you can't always

play14:47

control your first thought but you can

play14:48

always control your second thought and

play14:49

if you change your first thought to your

play14:51

second thought over and over and over

play14:52

and over and over again hundreds and

play14:54

hundreds and thousands and thousands of

play14:55

times eventually that second thought

play14:57

takes the place of that first thought

play14:59

so let me say again you can't always

play15:00

control your first thought because

play15:02

that's an automatic thought Cog

play15:04

behavioral therapy calls it ants

play15:05

automatic negative thoughts but you can

play15:08

always once you become aware of your

play15:10

first thought control your second

play15:11

thought because the first thought is

play15:13

usually subconscious the second thought

play15:15

requires conscious decision- making in

play15:17

that moment so like some people I've

play15:19

talked to before in coaching like I

play15:20

everything up I always SC screw things

play15:22

up right and you start to feel down on

play15:24

yourself when you think that well take a

play15:27

take a step out of your own head look at

play15:29

yourself and say is that thought of I'm

play15:31

I everything up is that thought

play15:33

going to support me in doing what I want

play15:35

to is it going to support me in growing

play15:37

my business to a million dollars this

play15:38

month no okay replace it with three

play15:41

pieces of data that show that you're not

play15:42

a failure okay let me take a step back

play15:44

let me let me and once again this is

play15:46

awareness and this is practice it takes

play15:47

a little bit longer this is why most

play15:49

people don't do it okay I've noticed

play15:52

that you know had this thought if I

play15:53

everything up that's not going to help

play15:54

me get to where I want to in life I need

play15:56

to replace that thought that first

play15:59

thought with three pieces of data that

play16:01

show that I'm not a failure okay number

play16:03

one I graduated in the top 20 of my high

play16:05

school okay cool good for you what's the

play16:07

second thing um I had a goal of losing

play16:09

20 pounds last year and I did it awesome

play16:11

I am a incredible father okay perfect

play16:15

you're doing great there you go that's

play16:17

cognitive restructuring you identify the

play16:19

bad thoughts when they come up and then

play16:21

you replace them if you want you know

play16:24

imagine your mind being a garden you're

play16:26

the only one that can be tending to this

play16:28

Garden you've got to pull the weeds

play16:30

whenever the weeds pop up you've got to

play16:32

pull the weeds and that's what we're

play16:33

doing so that's the first thing is

play16:35

cognitive restruction the second thing

play16:36

is

play16:37

visualization right let's be real

play16:39

visualization seems corny you close your

play16:42

eyes and you think about what it would

play16:43

look like and feel like to achieve your

play16:45

dreams okay hippie cool but science have

play16:48

shown many times over and over again

play16:50

this stuff actually works visualization

play16:52

is extremely powerful tool that could be

play16:54

used to reprogram your subconscious mind

play16:57

once again the one that controls 95% of

play17:00

your thoughts and feelings so it

play17:02

involves creating mental images of

play17:05

whatever it is that you want the goals

play17:06

the actions and then feeling it in your

play17:09

body in this moment how proud of

play17:12

yourself would you be if you did that

play17:14

right so you first have to know what you

play17:16

want in order for you to visualize it

play17:17

though so like I've always given the

play17:19

example many times of of me and my

play17:21

girlfriend at the time now wife going to

play17:23

Italy but I visualized it every single

play17:26

day for six months and then we were in

play17:29

Italy in 6 months I was like we're going

play17:31

to be there we're going to be there

play17:31

we're going to be there so I did it for

play17:33

6 months and then we ended up moving

play17:34

there for 6 months and so you know

play17:37

visualize that house that you want in

play17:39

the beach how proud of your like feel in

play17:41

your body how proud of yourself you

play17:43

would be if you did that visualize

play17:44

yourself you know traveling to Spain

play17:46

with your children and going and seeing

play17:49

the sagata Familia or whatever it is

play17:51

that you want to go and see with them

play17:53

like visualize yourself there with the

play17:55

people that you want to be there with

play17:56

over and over and over like you don't

play17:58

sit down and visualize once you do it

play18:00

every single morning until you're

play18:02

basically brainwashing yourself into

play18:04

believing that it's possible because by

play18:06

visualizing ourselves achieving the

play18:08

goals that we want we train our

play18:10

ourselves to basically believe that it's

play18:12

possible cuz all too often you're just

play18:14

believing that it's not possible and

play18:15

that's why you're not taking the action

play18:16

that you could so when you're

play18:17

visualizing it over and over and over

play18:19

again you believe it's possible which in

play18:22

turn increases your motivation you work

play18:24

towards harder towards it you become

play18:26

more committed and you actually achieve

play18:28

what it is that you want

play18:29

and it's shown over and over and over

play18:31

again that more often than not we just

play18:33

don't believe in ourselves and so this

play18:35

is a way that we can start to believe in

play18:36

ourselves and brainwash oursel into

play18:38

actually believing it's possible and

play18:40

there's scientific studies that have

play18:41

shown over and over again that

play18:43

visualization improves performance in

play18:45

almost any part of life you know there's

play18:48

a study that was published in the

play18:49

Journal of Applied sports psychology

play18:51

they found that athletes who practice

play18:53

visualization um experien significant

play18:56

improvements in their performance um and

play18:58

so like participants used uh imagery as

play19:01

a pre-performance routine and those that

play19:04

actually used it showed the greatest

play19:05

Improvement in their in in this case was

play19:08

golfing performance and so they they had

play19:10

them visualize making the putt over and

play19:12

over and over again and then they went

play19:14

out and the people who had the greatest

play19:15

Improvement were the ones who visualized

play19:17

making the putt so that's number two and

play19:20

number three is affirmations

play19:21

affirmations are just statements that

play19:23

you say to yourself you are constantly

play19:25

affirming yourself in some sort of way

play19:27

all the time all day long question is

play19:29

are they positive affirmations or they

play19:30

negative affirmations and you repeat

play19:32

them over and over and over again you

play19:34

actually start to reape your reshape

play19:36

your subconscious beliefs and your

play19:38

thought patterns you know and if and all

play19:40

day long just do them after you brush

play19:42

your teeth do them every single day in

play19:44

the morning you do them right after

play19:45

brush your teeth in the evening right

play19:46

after brush your teeth do them find out

play19:48

the way what do you want to say to

play19:50

yourself what is the the new thought

play19:53

patterns that you want in your head

play19:55

because research on the effectiveness of

play19:57

affirmations revealed that uh it leads

play19:59

to improvements in self-esteem into uh

play20:03

stress reduction and overall well-being

play20:05

and there was a study that was published

play20:06

in the Journal of psychological science

play20:08

that found that participants who engaged

play20:10

in self-affirmation activities exhibited

play20:13

increased activity in the brain regions

play20:15

associated with self-referential

play20:17

processing which is uh means the you

play20:20

know the way that you think about

play20:21

yourself and the way it relates to the

play20:23

outside world and the evaluation of that

play20:26

and the results show that affirmations

play20:28

have a profound impact on the mental

play20:30

state and contribute to a more positive

play20:32

outlook for people so you have to

play20:34

brainwash yourself in in and visualizing

play20:37

what is that you want and also speaking

play20:39

exactly what is that you want so you can

play20:41

brainwash yourself into believing

play20:42

whatever it is that you

play20:44

want I mean we've basically all been

play20:46

brainwashed to believe what we currently

play20:47

believe why don't we now take control of

play20:49

our own brainwashing and why don't you

play20:51

just brainwash yourself into believing

play20:52

what you want to believe into to doing

play20:54

what you want to do so essentially

play20:56

cognitive restruct uh cognitive

play20:58

restructuring visual visualizing and

play21:01

affirmations are you brainwashing

play21:03

yourself you've been brainwashed by

play21:05

everything that's ever happened to you

play21:07

now this is your opportunity for you to

play21:09

take control and actually start to

play21:11

brainwash yourself so that you can

play21:13

reprogram your brain the way that you

play21:15

want to be so that's all I got for you
