Transcripts
Dubai! You must have heard of it.
The world's longest building, huge shopping malls, cheap
shopping, cheap iPhone, and cheap gold, you can get it here.
But not only this, if you are also fond of adventure, then
from skydiving to desert safari, you can do everything in
one country.
This is the land of dreams,
United Arab Emirates, and Habibi, welcome to Dubai.
By the way, Dubai has become an all-year-round destination
nowadays.
But for your convenience,
I am dividing it into three seasons.
First is the peak season, which is from November to April.
The biggest advantage of this is that the climate is very
good here, and the heat is also manageable.
And another advantage is that the Dubai Shopping Festival
is also held in January and February.
The downside to this is that flight tickets and stay will
be very expensive in this season. Second is the summer
season, which is not very popular, which comes in May to
August.
But this is the cheapest time to go to Dubai.
Usually, people don't go out much in Dubai, and there is AC
in all places indoors, so you won't have any such problem
here.
And to go here, you will get flight as well as hotel stays
at a very low price. And finally comes the shoulder season,
which comes between September to October, where the weather
becomes a little unpredictable, where you get heat,
sandstorms, and even
rain.
And here too, you will get flight and stay at a low price,
but I will not recommend this to you, to go there.
One last thing you have to keep in mind when planning to go
to Dubai, that in the month of Ramzan, it will be better if
you don't book in that month, because a lot of things are
closed during the day, and you are not allowed to eat or
drink outside. So
it will be better if you can skip that month for this.
So now let's talk about flights, and there is a lot of
important information to give here.
Traditionally, it was said that if you go to Sharjah
Airport from India, the flights are very cheap.
It was true at one time, because for Rs.
5,500 to 6,000, you had to take a one-way ticket from India
to Dubai, that is, to Sharjah, for Air Arabia, which is the
local carrier of Sharjah.
But in today's world, this price does not exist.
Wherever you go in that region,
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah, the flight prices are mostly
Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000 for one-way.
If you get it for Rs.
8,000 or Rs.
9,000, then it's great, otherwise, you can go for Rs.
Apart from this, there are three major airports where you
can go.
Sharjah, which is at least 20 km from the city center, you
will have to spend a little in a taxi for Rs.
1,000 to Rs.
Apart from that, if your trip starts or ends from Abu
Dhabi, then the flight from there to India or the flight
from there to India can be cheaper, by chance. Like I
recently came to India from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai, so I had
to pay only Rs.
5,500 for the flight which was from Air India Express.
Otherwise, if you get your entire trip to Dubai, then you
should book a flight from Dubai Airport.
That would be the best option.
And the flight fare can be anywhere between Rs. 22,000 to
Rs. 24,000 per long trip.
So, you will have to get a visa to go to Dubai.
And the cost of a visa generally varies between Rs.
6,500 to Rs.
If you want to go to Dubai, then you have only one option
for a visa, which is the e-visa option.
So, to apply for an e-visa, the first thing you have to do
is to go to the official government website and process the
information there.
The process is quite complicated because the website is not
user-friendly.
And sometimes, if there is a mistake in the documentation,
then you have to re-upload it.
So, for this, your trip can go into a bit of a problem if
the visa time doesn't come on time.
This is a cheap option, in which you will save almost Rs.
700 to Rs.
But it is also time-consuming because it will take you 3 to
5 days to get your visa.
When you get your visa, you just have to print out the
email and keep the copy in your phone, and you're good to
go.
Now, the second option that I would suggest to you is one
that a lot of Indians use, which is to go through a proper
channel like an agency or an agent.
Here, you will get a lot of options depending on which part
of the country you live in. If you live in a major city,
then you have the option of doing Akbar Travels or Ria
Travels offline.
Or if you want to do it online, then I would suggest you to
do it through the app.
So, do it through Atlas, which is also very good.
All you have to do is take a photo of yourself on the app
as well as put a scan copy of your passport.
And you will get around Rs. 7,100 in fees.
And believe me, I got my visa in 3 hours.
And I took the printout, and that was it.
So, your daily budget in Dubai will look something like
this which I am showing you on the screen.
So, as a budget traveler, which most Indians go in this
segment, then you will get 3-star hotels anywhere between
Rs.
2,500 to Rs.
You will get less than this, but I will not advise you that.
This is usually breakfast-inclusive, so it is a very good
deal for you if you are traveling with two people. Apart
from this, you will get veg, non-veg, Indian food very
easily wherever you go.
The price for this can be anywhere between Rs.
300 to Rs.
500 per person per meal.
And finally, what you will need for local transportation,
the metro network and bus network are very good.
So, you can assume that you will need Rs.
400 to Rs.
600 per person for local transportation.
I will show you the full budget breakdown in this video.
So, let's talk about the arrangements for Dubai's currency.
Dubai's currency is called the Dirham.
And usually, its exchange rate is around
Rs. 22.5 to Rs.
23 Indian Rupees, which is the current exchange rate. So,
if you are going to Dubai, then you can exchange Dirhams
from anywhere in India in exchange for Rupees.
It is very easily available and you can carry it as you
wish. Apart from this, if you go to all the places in
Dubai, then you can easily swipe your credit card, debit
card, and forex card without any charges.
You will get the same charges as you did with your bank,
which is generally 1 to 2% according to the markup fees.
And as far as withdrawing cash from the ATM is concerned,
then a very good news is that you don't have to pay any ATM
withdrawal charges in Dubai.
So, if your bank is charging you, then you will have to pay
the withdrawal charges.
Otherwise, if you top up your forex card, which has zero
markup and zero withdrawal fees, and you go to cash
withdrawals, then you won't have to pay any charges.
Alright, so now let's talk about where you should book your
Dubai stays and what are the options you have with price
points.
So, where you live in Dubai decides the major factors where
you can increase or decrease your budget.
Because if you are living in a downtown area or in JBR,
which is right in the middle of the city center, it will be
very expensive and it is also very upmarket.
So, if your budget is such that you can spend more than Rs.
10,000 per night for your hotel rooms, then there are two
major neighborhoods,
JBR as well as downtown.
But since a lot of people travel on a budget, then I would
suggest that you book your stays in Dehra or Burr Dubai
neighborhoods.
Dehra and Burr Dubai connectivity-wise is very good and it
is also a majorly Indian neighborhood.
So, you will get a lot of options to eat there and it will
also be very cheap.
You can get a lot of 3-star and 4-star hotels at a very
good price point.
Like the property I stayed in Dehra, the Pearl Hotel, I had
to pay a tariff of Rs.
3000 per night minus breakfast.
Apart from this, if you are going solo traveller, then
there is some good news and bad news as well because you
will get a lot of hostels in Dubai.
Hostel culture is not a big deal there because you don't
get a lot of backpacking, but that doesn't mean you won't
get a hostel.
You will get hostels in good neighborhoods, but the prices
go to be anywhere between
Rs. 1800 to Rs. 2500 per night.
You will also see cheap hostels, but I would suggest you to
avoid them because the situation there is that a lot of
people who come there to find a job on a tourist visa, the
workers who come, they usually stay at places like Rs.
700 to Rs.
600 per night which will become a little uncomfortable for
you and you may have a safety issue somewhere.
Now, your luggage can also get lost.
So, while planning a trip to Dubai, people always have this
confusion whether to do 3 nights 4 days or 4 nights 5 days.
How many days do you need for Abu Dhabi?
So, from my experience, I can tell you that if you don't
want to cover Dubai properly, then 4 nights 5 days is more
than enough.
And if you want to add Abu Dhabi, then you can do a single
day trip or you can add 2 days there.
But one more big issue that was arising in my planning for
this trip was that there are so many tourist locations in
Dubai and Abu Dhabi that where to go, when to go, what are
the prices, what is the timing,
I was very overwhelmed and confused in this.
So, I called my friends and one of them suggested me an app
called Travel Eva.
You will get this in the App Store and Play Store.
And the best part is that it is absolutely free to download
and use as well as this Made in India app.
Because of Travel Eva, I had to plan a lot of my
itineraries there, where to go at what time, when to go,
what are the prices, where to book from, I got all this
information there.
And their pre-made itineraries are also very amazing and
absolutely free.
And along with that, it had so many features that helped me
a lot in this trip.
In that, like there are simple things where you can add
travel expenses and if you are with a friend, you can split
it as well.
All your boarding passes... You can upload all your
tickets, all your stay reservations in the same app
And you don't need to open multiple apps when you are
actually traveling
So for this, when I went there, I used Traveliva And my
trip planning was very easy because of that
I highly recommend it, there is a QR code on top, you must
download it, try it once So now I am telling you a sample
itinerary of Dubai
In which you will go on a desert safari for a day
Desert safari is a must do activity in Dubai, it is a very
fun filled and adventurous activity And you can spend the
whole day in it Your pick up drop is included in it, food
and all the entertainment is also included
To book this, you can use Get Your Guide, Klook or the
local company Easy Journey
I will put everyone's links in the description
One day, you must keep Dubai in mind to explore the Dubai
Mall Reach there in the morning and explore the biggest
mall in Dubai
It will take you at least 4 to 6 hours And in my opinion,
even 2 days is not enough to explore this mall
Another big advantage from there is Burj Khalifa, which is
not only Dubai but also the world's most famous landmark
Which is the world's tallest building, you can also go to
the observatory deck on the 124th and 125th floor
Its cost is around 4,100 rupees
And you can book it online from anywhere
I have given the links in the description, you can use that
too
Keep in mind that if you go here at sunset time, it will be
much better Then from there, in the evening, you can go to
Marina in Dubai
And you can do one of the most famous things in Dubai,
which is Dubai's Marina or Dhow Cruise
These come in different price points and I will suggest you
to do it in the big mega yachts In which food,
entertainment and drinks are also included
From here, you can explore the amazing view of Dubai
And it takes at least 3 to 4 hours
So you will enjoy it a lot
And to book this too, I have put the links in the
description
For day 3, you can do free activities like Dubai Gold Soup,
Dubai Spice Soup and Old Dubai
And in the evening, you can go to Jumeirah Beach Road and
explore the beach life and clubbing there
If you are going with children for day 4, then I will
suggest you to visit IMG Theme Park Its ticket cost is
around 4,100 rupees
And you can enjoy the full day there
If you don't want to do that, then you can explore Dubai
Frame, Museum of the Future and Global Village in the
evening
Which is a very amazing place where you will have all night
long entertainment
And before leaving on day 5, you must do shopping in Dubai
If you are fond of iPhones, then there is a very amazing
shop called ZamZam Electronics
Where you get iPhones for a worldwide discount, brand new
It comes in the Bur Dubai area and it is very amazing
And if you are fond of perfumes in the same area, then I
will suggest you to visit Mayura Kamas
Where you will get all the perfumes and food at very
attractive prices Apart from this, you get everything from
bags to clothes in Bur Dubai So you can do whatever
shopping you want there
So if you need transportation in Dubai, then the most
convenient way is to take Metro and local buses
Its connectivity is amazing, so you can go to any place you
want to go, including the airport
It is very easy to reach there and it is very cheap
If you want to go there, then you can take this Noll Card
This is a verified card system
In which you can pay for buses and metro trains And in some
places, you can pay for local convenience stores or
supermarkets
Its value is 6 Dirhams, which is non-refundable
And you have to pay a total of 25 Dirhams
So 6 Dirhams plus the rest is usable
And if you go anywhere, you will get deductions from it
So whether you take a bus or a metro in Dubai, you have a
very good network
And if you want to go to Abu Dhabi through this Noll Card,
then you can directly take local buses and reach Abu Dhabi
Taxis are very available in Dubai, but remember that taxis
are going to be a little expensive there
If you want app-based taxis, then you can go to Uber or
Careem
And if you use Careem, then you can use it for food
delivery if you want to cook food in the hotel So before
ending the video, let's talk about a major thing
In which your budget as well as whether you should book
yourself or go through the package store
I will give you a break up of this too
So first let's talk about what are the benefits and
disadvantages of the package store versus self-reliance
So if you are doing a package store, I would suggest that
if you are in a large group Where there are 6 to 8 people,
then it will be very good for you In which a lot of things
happen according to your convenience
Apart from that, if you want to go to the package store in
a big group, you can do it
But remember that you will not get to do it according to
your convenience everywhere
And you will have a very rushed experience
You must have seen on this channel that I don't suggest
anyone to go to the package store
Unless and until they are going with small children or
elderly people
But there is a lot of hassle customization in that too
So that's why I don't feel package store is the right
thing, especially if you are going to Dubai
Because you can self-plan this for a long time And as far
as self-planning is concerned, as I said, if you download
the Traveliva app, then you will be able to do all the work
Without any hassles, from itinerary to cost, everything is
a one-stop solution
So Traveliva app is one of the best things you can download
on your phone whenever you are planning a trip to Dubai
Because I did that and my life got very easy And I'm going
to use this going forward for a lot many other places as
well
And finally, let's talk about the actual budget of Dubai
for a trip
So see, budget is a very subjective thing, as I always say,
everyone's budget is not going to be the same
Everyone's preference is different
But if you are going to Dubai, then keep in mind that your
flight fare will be a standard as per your location
As I told you in visa fees, if it's around 7000, then it's
a standard
Apart from this, I'm showing you three segments
One is solo traveller, one is couples who are going on a
budget
And the third segment is families who can afford a higher
budget for them
So in every segment, you will get different price points
with hotels, with entry fees, food expenses, as well as
day-on-day transportation
So you can see the grand total below
If you are planning any of the three segments, then how
much will be your expenses
So this was the whole video guys, I hope you liked it
