has recently been surging in popularity

due to its vintage look feel and color

selection in this video I'll compare the

fit softness and print quality to help

you figure out which t-shirt blank you

should be selling in your business and

make sure you stick around until the end

because I'll show you the same design

printed on each of these t-shirts by the

same printer and I'll give you my

personal recommendations on which

t-shirt I like more let's start with

some of the basic information you should

know about each t-shirt starting with

the Bella and canvas 3001 now you can

immediately see on their website how

popular this t-shirt is because they

actually have a dedicated button right

here at the top to go directly to the

3001 this is truly one of the most

popular t-shirts on the planet if not

the most popular t-shirt uh in the world

so looking at the 3001 we today are

going to be looking at the Navy colorway

which is what I've got selected here you

can see here in their description that

they have 86 unique colors available

you're going to see some of the solid

colors here but to find their Heather

colors that's actually going to be over

on the 3001 CVC now what you'll see on a

lot of print on demand providers is that

they actually lump in the 3001 and the

Heather colors with the CVC into one

product listing and a lot of times print

on demands will have a little bit higher

pricing for the Heather colors than they

will the standard colors one thing that

Bella and canvas is very proud of is

this right here 100% no sweat shops and

eco-friendly now if we click on that

it's going to tell us more about their

this sounds like is they're taking us

materials and they're actually

assembling it in Nicaragua so this is

not being made in the US it's not being

completely made in the US uh it is being

assembled somewhere else so I wanted to

point that out if that's something

that's important to you that Bell and

canvas really puts that USA first

message out there but a lot of their

products are being assembled and

manufactured in other countries next

let's take a look at the Comfort colors

1717 so you're going to see that it

comes in 68 colors and we're taking a

look at the navy color in this video but

this is a heavyweight tea you can see

it's 6.1 oce per yard uh and so it's a

heavier material and the big the big

differentiator with the Comfort colors a

lot of their t-shirts is right here in

their first product feature it says

Comfort color styles are garment dyed

for that lived in feel and almost no

shrinkage at home so what really gives

the Comfort colors that vintage worn and

feel is the fact that it's actually

garment dyed now what does that mean

that means that they are actually dying

this shirt after it is assembled as

opposed to what most happens with most

t-shirts is they're actually dying the

roll of fabric before it is assembled

into a t-shirt so kind of the last thing

they're doing with these Comfort colors

t-shirts is dying the actual shirt

putting the color into that shirt is the

final thing and that gives it that

really cool old school vintage uh worn

in look and one other thing I want to

point out on the colors here is that

really really trendy right now take a

look at like this ivory color I mean

there's a ton of Tans and these olives

and greens that are very uh just very

trendy right now so this is one of the

biggest reasons why this t-shirt has

been taking off lately why it's been

being sold so much

is the color selection and the fact that

it's garment dyed giving it that vintage

look and vintage feel next let's talk

about the sizing and fit starting with

the Bella and canvas

3001 now these two T-shirts fit very

differently the Bella and canvas 3001 is

a t-shirt that I've worn a ton over the

last 5 to 10 years and so I'm very

familiar with how it feels and how it

fits and so the fit first of all it's a

little bit long so it's going to be

longer than most like sex t-shirts

you're going to find and some people

really enjoy the fact that there's maybe

an inch of extra length at the bottom

the other thing to note is that the arm

the sleeves are actually going to be a

little bit tighter uh than the Comfort

colors now I wouldn't say that it's like

a super tight fit around the around the

arms uh but it's definitely not a loose

fit it's definitely fitted uh and I

would say that about the whole t-shirt

that it's a fairly fitted t-shirt that

doesn't mean it's tight I would order

true to size for most people so I wear a

size large and I order a size large in

the Bell canvas 31 and I find it to be a

really comfortable fit uh again little

bit extra long a little more fitted

around the arm so there's not a lot of

fabric kind of hanging off and overall

not not super tight throughout the body

but definitely a more fitted feel now

the fit of the Comfort colors 1717 is

very different first of all it's quite a

bit shorter than the Bella canvas um so

it's it doesn't have that longer fit but

it has a more maybe traditional fit a

little more of a boxy fit so throughout

the body it's going to be a little bit

more loose fitting uh and just kind of

hanging a little bit shorter on the

length than the 3001 and I find the

sleeves to be not as fitted so there's

actually kind of a lot more fabric

hanging off so this t-shirt almost felt

smaller to me uh but also looser fitting

if that makes sense it just felt like uh

it was a little bit um of a smaller

overall fit even though in some areas of

the T-shirt I had a little bit more room

now I still ordered my size my my

regular size which is a size large but I

would say if you're wanting like that

street wear kind of like loose fitting

uh t-shirt you might actually go up a

size maybe I need to go up to an XL in

this t-shirt to kind of get that looser

fit uh maybe more of a kind of

streetwear style fit which I know is a

lot of Street Weare brands are using

this t-shirt uh with their brand so

that's what I would say about the

Comfort colors again it's just looser

around the arms not as fitted throughout

the body and shorter in length let's

talk about which t-shirt is softer and

so these two T-shirts they actually feel

um somewhat similar on the softness and

I've always thought that the Bella

canvas 3001 is a fairly soft t-shirt

it's definitely not the softest you know

if you go with like a tri blend type

t-shirt it's going to be a lot softer

than this but it's it's not a

uncomfortable shirt it's a comfortable

feel it's fairly soft if you go with

some the Heather colors it's going to be

even more soft but I think the Comfort

colors is just a little bit softer and I

wonder if that has something to do with

that garment dye and the way the way

that they do that dye because when you

get the Comfort colors it does feel like

has somebody worn this t-shirt before

even though it's a brand new t-shirt it

feels like it's been through the wash

you know it doesn't shrink and it just

feels a little softer and feels like

it's more maneuverable so on softness I

would definitely take the Comfort colors

next let's take a look at the print

quality of each t-shirt now print

quality can differ depending on the

quality of the cotton so usually higher

quality cotton going to have a more

vibrant and a better print so what I did

for this video is I ordered the exact

same design on these two different

T-shirts from the same printer so these

were printed in the same place and I

ordered both of these T-shirts from

Swift pod inside printify uh print on

demand company so you could see the

difference so I want to lay out both of

these so you can kind of see this is the

Bellin canvas and this is the Comfort

colors right next to it now this is the

same design on both t-shirts and there

is actually a pretty big difference now

these were both printed with direct to

garment printing technology so these

were printed the same way in the same

Factory probably by the same actual

printer they could have been printed by

different actual print uh machines but

there's a huge difference here in print

quality so starting with the Bell canvas

3001 this print is not very vibrant now

what I would say is it still looks

pretty good I I think this is an

acceptable print but specifically the

orange here this is orange and blue

design the the Orange is not very

vibrant uh it it it just looks kind of

dull looking at the Comfort colors this

is extremely vibrant it looks really

really really good both the blue and the

orangee but especially that orange

really pops and this color is very true

to what I submitted uh for this t-shirt

design now I'm going to hold both of

these kind of up to the camera so you

can hopefully see that very close up uh

how that looks this is the 31 on the

screen right now 3001 right there and

then looking at the Comfort colors man

the Comfort colors looks really really

good now can I say definitively

that the Comfort colors is always going

to look better than the 3001 no I can't

there's there's too many factors to

consider uh when you're talking about

printing like how clean are the print

heads what which machine is printing

which um you know how much ink was in

there there's so many things who's

operating it how they put it through the

dryer there's a lot of different factors

but I would say this gives me a pretty

good indication that the Comfort colors

is a slightly higher quality cotton and

a slightly higher quality uh just shirt

overall and so I do think there's a good

chance there's a very high percentage

chance that you're going to get better

print quality on the Comfort colors 1717

versus the Bell canvas 3001 so here's my

final thoughts on these two T-shirts

which one should you sell in your

apparel business for me it's really hard

to go away from the Bella canvas 31

because I've sold thousands and

thousands of this t-shirt and customers

have loved it I love this t-shirt and I

would say above all else I really love

the fit of the 3001 I just think it fits

so much better on the body it's more

flattering and I think more people like

the fit I was really not a fan of the

way that the Comfort colors fit on my

body it was just wasn't a comfortable

fit um and so for that reason I would

continue to sell the 3001 and the 3001

is considerably less in price so you're

going to be able to get more mark margin

when you're selling that 31 now I would

say a lot of people really like the 1717

and it's been surging in popularity I

think it's a phenomenal t-shirt the

color selection the Vintage feel and

obviously the higher print quality we

got on the 1717 those are all things

that you should definitely consider so

if those are important to you I think

that you should go with the 1717 but I

think that the 3001 is still an

incredible staple classic t-shirt that I

think is a great option for almost any
