Outlines
đ§ Taking Control of Your Mind
In this opening, Paul Bernard II asks viewers to reflect on what dominates their thoughts, whether itâs external pressures like homework or finances, or internal matters such as relationships or faith. He introduces himself and the theme of the video, which focuses on controlling oneâs mind in alignment with God. He highlights the mental health struggles of Gen Z and Millennials, particularly for Christians, and emphasizes how Godâs teachings can guide mental health. This video departs from his usual content by avoiding flashy elements, focusing solely on authentic, unscripted speech.
đ Aligning Life with Belief in God's Promises
Bernard explores how Christians must examine their lives to ensure they reflect their professed beliefs in God's goodness. He emphasizes that God's promises, such as protection and miracles, are true but require active faith to manifest. Bernard reflects on his personal journey, admitting doubts about God's involvement in romantic relationships, which scripture helped him overcome. He urges viewers to take negative or false thoughts captive and replace them with truths from the Bible.
đŻ The Truth in Godâs Promises
This section focuses on God's promises in the Bible, especially victory over death and sin. Bernard challenges Christians who feel trapped by their struggles with sin, reminding them of Godâs grace and forgiveness. He discusses the transformative power of God's word, highlighting Romans 8 and emphasizing that even a broken, repentant spirit is acceptable to God. Bernard calls for believers to operate in true faith and knowledge of God to lead lives that please Him.
đĄ Going Deeper in Your Relationship with God
Bernard shares his personal experiences of dedicating time to God, through Bible study, prayer, and discussions with his father, a pastor. He reflects on how he still struggled with temptation despite spending hours in devotion and realized thereâs no âenoughâ when it comes to time with God. He stresses that the more time spent with God, the more oneâs life improves. He also highlights the importance of gradually growing in faith and the endless nature of learning from Godâs word.
đ Capturing Thoughts and Obedience to Godâs Word
Bernard explains how the Bible revealed to him that there is no set amount of time needed to spend with God, but rather a constant engagement with His word. He emphasizes that God's word renews the soul, guiding believers through life. The Bible isnât just for inspirationâitâs life itself, offering constant direction and protection, as seen in Proverbs 6:21-22. He encourages believers to internalize the word of God as part of their character, allowing it to guide and transform them.
đ Taking Control Over Your Mind and Actions
In this emotional conclusion, Bernard provides a 'diagnosis' for those who feel out of control of their minds: they lack the knowledge of God. His 'prescription' is to immerse oneself in the word of God, letting it lead them throughout the day and offering peace in moments of anxiety or uncertainty. He stresses that God wants believers to have peace and self-control and warns that distractions, such as media and entertainment, can lead to a lack of focus on God.
â€ïž A Personal Plea and Call to Action
Bernard concludes with a heartfelt message, reflecting on how deeply he believes in Godâs transformative power. He expresses sadness for those whose lives are controlled by everything but God. He admits to getting emotional, recognizing the life-changing power of fully partnering with God. Bernard urges viewers to let Godâs word free them and to unapologetically embrace their faith. He offers to engage with viewers in the comments and apologizes for not responding to them sooner, promising to do better in stewarding his channel.

I want you to ask yourself this question
right now do you have control over your
mind what is it that you constantly
think about what dictates your thoughts
most often during the day are you
thinking about homework that someone
else assigned to you are you constantly
thinking about your finances anxious
about your job thinking about somebody
else's actions in the relationship that
you're in or do you constantly think
about God yo what is good my people it's
your boy Paul Bernard II also known as
PB I've been a full-time content creator
and entrepreneur for about the last five
years now I'm really excited about
today's topic because one this is
something that's hit me really hard
recently and has helped me grow a lot in
my faith and see A New Perspective to
approaching my relationship with God and
two I believe that this is extremely
relevant for today's generation there's
a lot of talk about mental health about
how gen Z and Millennials are seen as
the depressed age and how everyone has
anxiety and nervousness and mental
health issues and emotional health and
Trauma and things of that nature and
especially for Christians for people who
call themselves children of God there is
a way that God calls us to approach our
mental health and that's what I want to
talk about today so the style of this
video is different than my other videos
no music no sound design no b-roll no
crazy effects or anything of that nature
just my voice I hope y'all won't get
annoyed by my voice I wasn't blessed
with a deep beautiful voice like aan
Liam Nissan or something like that but
just bear with me and just hear the true
words of God but also I feel like this
style of video of just being authentic
just being real minimal cuts no music no
sound design it helps emphasize the
focus of this video because we live in a
very distracting age they say that
attention is the new form of currency
everything is pulling for your attention
and a lot of times we're so distracted
and we don't even know it we're not even
consciously aware of how many things are
pulling our Direction so if you make it
through the end of this video I hope
that you understand the perspective of
having a mind that is controlled truly
by God so the inspiration for this video
comes from 2 Corinthians
10:5 it says we demolish arguments and
every pretention that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God and we take
captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ the very first thing
that is essential to do is to analyze
your life if you have to pause this
video you have to write it down and
remember to do it once you get to the
end of this video whatever it is I want
you to take a second to analyze your
beliefs the things that you repeatedly
say that you believe if you're a
Believer and you say that hey you know
God is good God's going to look out for
me and you say that maybe just in the
good times of your life or you repeat
that when you're in church analyze your
life does your life reflect the beliefs
that you repeatedly say in your life so
what I mean by that if you say that God
is good if you say that God looks out
for you if you say that God is the god
of Miracles he's Lord over your life
he's Sovereign he is healer he is Yahweh
he is Elohim he's Jehovah ja Jehovah if
you say all these things does your life
reflect that cuz it's one thing to say
it and it's one thing to have a life
that is a living testimony as Paul says
and if your life doesn't reflect these
things it's not God because God is true
and I can tell you 100% that what I've
read in the Bible and what I've seen
through history and the evidence of God
is 100% true he is who he says he is so
if that is not reflected in your life
it's not his fault it's your lack of
faith what are the thoughts that come
around in your head when you're going
through a tough time or when you're
going through a time where you don't see
any way out for example something that
I've struggled with recently is that I
just didn't believe that God truly cared
about our romantic relationships I just
felt like you know we're kind of left to
our own good to figure out who we're
supposed to marry but when I read the
text when I when I read the Bible for
example Psalms 121: 5-8 the Lord Watches
Over You the Lord is your shade at your
right hand the sun will not harm you by
day nor the Moon by Night the Lord will
keep you from all harm he will watch
over your life the Lord will watch over
your coming and going both now and
forever more when I read a verse like
that it doesn't make sense that I would
have a thought in this now truth that
I've cemented in my life that somehow
God doesn't care about a certain part of
my life see when we have the knowledge
of the word when we have the true
knowledge of God that's when we can take
the truth that's when we can take the
truth that we know that we are aware of
and take those thoughts that are not
true take them captive and force them to
be obedient to what is true that's what
this verse is saying if we don't have
that knowledge of God then there's no
way that we can even take a thought
captive or even recognize that we have a
thought that is not true the Bible is
full of promises from God but those
promises are no good to us if we don't
apply them to our lives if we don't
recite them study them understand them
for ourselves the Bible says that the
truth that we know will set us free God
promises us victory over death promises
us God promises us victory over death
it's not a suggestion it is a promise
that when we are in Christ CHR Jesus
that when we are saved by his grace
which has already been bestowed upon us
God has already shown us his grace every
single day by sending his son to die on
the cross when we're saved by his grace
and through our faith through our belief
in him that we receive that gift which
is victory over death victory over the
most Indescribable and hard to
understand and scary things a human can
face he has promised us this truth these
aren't just minuscule verses this is the
course of Life the Bible is not just a
get well card the Bible is not just
resource to pick up and to shine in
people's faces to remind people that oh
yeah I'm I'm a lukewarm Christian I'm a
part-time Christian I put God first in
my bio when the rest of your feed
doesn't resemble that you're actually a
Christian the Bible is literally life
victory over death God promises that he
is near the Brokenhearted and saves
those who are crushed in spirit you may
think that oh man I just can't get over
this sin cycle and man I keep falling
into pornography I keep falling into
masturbation I keep falling into
fornication I can't stop drinking I
can't stop smoking I can't stop doing
this oh God does doesn't love me anymore
God doesn't love me like he used to when
I wasn't sinning what does Paul say in
Romans 8 therefore there is now no
condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus God tells us there is no
temptation that has overtaken us that is
not common to man God says that he
provides a way out out of every
Temptation God says that he never asks
us for an extravagant sacrifice he says
that even our most righteous Deeds are
filthy rags to him there's nothing that
we can do it's not by our works by works
or Merit by itself there nothing that we
can do he knows that all can offer him
is a broken and a contrite spirit and
even that he will not despise God says
that he has forgiven and forgotten our
sins as far as the East is from the West
these are all truths and when we allow
our minds to be built on thoughts that
are not true they then become a part of
our nature character and being and we
start living a life that cannot please
God because we do not operate in true
faith we do not operate in the truth and
knowledge of God this may be pretty
redundant but knowledge of God comes
from actually knowing what I'm about to
say is a sign to you I'm not a prophet
I'm not speaking prophetic I just know
this to be true by reading the Bible
this applies to every single person
who's watching this video right now this
is your sign to go deeper with God and
the reason I say that with full
confidence is because there is not a
limit to how deep you can go in your
relationship with Christ there is not a
quota or a plateau where reading the
Bible just doesn't serve your life
anymore we're spending time with God we
praying is too much in fact if you think
about heaven heaven is constant time of
presence with God and how long does
heaven last eternity that's the
definition of perfection and as we're
pushing to be better pushing towards
Perfection the more time we spend with
God the more we know of God the more we
understand of God the better Our Lives
will be so I had this thought this past
weekend and let me get some context So
currently I'm on this Bible study that
starts at about 5:00 a.m. in the morning
and that usually last from anywhere like
from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and then
after that I usually call my dad in the
morning and he's a pastor so it's
basically like a Bible study as well and
that usually lasts anywhere from 30
minutes to an hour and then after that I
also feel like man I've kind of receive
my Bible study from all these other
people and then I feel like I need to
hop in my own word so I'll do my own
private study uh right now I'm going
through Proverbs so that might last
another like 30 minutes to an hour and
then I pray at night every single night
with my girl and I'm not trying to make
it cases like oh this is the standard of
how much time you need to spend with God
but this last weekend I had this thought
I was like man I'm still struggling with
temptation man I still feel like I need
more time with God like when will my
time with God be enough and it wasn't
until I read this passage and I started
studying it in order to present this
word to you guys today that I understood
that there's never a point that enough
is enough I'm not saying this to make
you feel negative about yourself as like
oh if I'm not spending 4 to 5 hours at
least a day with the Lord and in his
presence then there's no way I'm going
to progress in life I'm not saying that
but the case I'm making is that God is
so abundant and full of truth and the
Bible is so full of truth that every
moment that you can spend in the word
diving into and understanding it is a
win for your soul every single time that
you pray to God you are growing in that
faith and in that connection every
single time that you listen to a
god-filled sermon from a messenger who
is truly speaking the truth of the word
like everything around it there is no
limit to it and the problem is if you
had a thought like me like I did this
last weekend is that our brains are just
programmed to always think in a finite
way when God is eternal God is trying to
train us to think in a Everlasting way
to think not in the ways of destinations
and specific points to get to but to
think of gradual growth in faith and
this is the aspect of knowing god where
you'll be able to now take your thoughts
like for example that thought that I had
this week
and Through the Bible it was revealed to
me that I needed to take that thought
captive and force it to be obedient at
first I was looking for a specific
amount of time a routine that would give
me prosperity in life but now I see that
there is no limit and there is no
specific amount of time because
everything that I read out of the word
is renewing and rejuvenating to my soul
like I said the Bible is not a get well
card it's not some get- rich quick
scheme it's not just motivation
motivation is such an understatement
like I said this Bible is life the words
of God the words of your creator the
words of the one who made this universe
with his words like it was just another
thing to do in the day like that being
is speaking to you directly and you're
telling me that you don't want to study
this you don't want to understand it as
much as you can Proverbs 6: 21:22 says
bind them on your heart always tie them
around your neck when you walk they will
lead you when you lie down they will
watch over you and when you awake they
will talk to you that's every C
circumstance of life when you're walking
the word of God when you bind it on your
heart when you write it on the tablet of
your heart when you bind it around your
neck when you seek it like silver the
word of God will lead you when you lie
down at night when those Temptations are
trying to come at you when you're having
those intrusive thoughts when everything
that happened during the day is coming
back to you like a crashing wave the
word of God will watch over you and
protect you in that time when you wake
up in the morning you're trying to
figure out what you're going to do that
day how you going to use this life that
you have been gifted with for another
day the word of God will talk to you and
tell you where to go and then when you
start walking again it will lead you
it's something it's a partner in life
the word basically what Solomon is
saying In this passage is that the word
of God should be adopted into you as
your character no matter where you go it
will be with you it will lead you watch
over you it will talk to you the word of
God is you when you adopt it into your
soul all right so boom so I knew this
video was going to be a lot longer than
usual but I don't care if this is for
you then this is for you it's not about
views it's not about subscribers it's
not about being the most engaging as
possible it's about truth and today I
felt like I needed to have this style of
video and just speak freely and allow
the Lord to speak his truth through
me because it's such an important topic
our minds I'm telling you our minds we
have no idea how many thoughts we have
that are contrary to the truth of God we
have no idea how many thoughts we have
that are distracting from the truth we
throw off all of that everything that is
contrary to the knowledge of God and we
take our thoughts make them captive we
capture our thoughts and we make them
obedient to God I'm not a doctor but I
want to give you a diagnosis right now
all right check me out follow me right
here all right your diagnosis today
is if you don't feel like you're in
control of your mind then that means
that you don't have the true knowledge
of God and have not been taking your
thoughts captive and making them
obedient to God your
prescription is read the word bind those
words on your heart and around your neck
seek them like silver let the word of
God lead you during the day let it watch
over you when you lay down to sleep and
let it talk to you and tell you what to
do in the morning when you wake up that
is your prescription that is the truth
to how to take control of your mind so
that it doesn't feel like you're living
living a reactive life that when things
happen you feel out of control and you
feel nervousness you feel anxiety
attacks you don't know about your
relationship what's going to happen next
you don't know about your job you feel
out of control if you want that control
if you want that self-control because
God doesn't want you to not have
self-control God doesn't want you to not
have peace to not have rest all those
things chaos anxiety depression and
God's eyes they're distractions they
keep you from thinking about God and
proverb Solomon says that a man without
self-control is like a city broken into
and left with no walls I've said this
before but I think that's so significant
for us to remember that when we have no
self-control when we can't control our
mind our thoughts our being our
reactions our emotions when we have no
control over that we're susceptible to
everything around us and a lot of times
we don't even know it we're being
extremely influenced by celebrities and
entertainment in flashy pastures
nowadays and materialistic things and
clothes in expensive food and trips and
degrees and we're being distracted by so
many things there are Christians who
Lally try to defend their distractions
oh it's okay that I watch Love Island oh
it's okay that I go and see Beyonce oh
rich homie Kwan just died he was for the
culture it's okay that I put his song of
my
story man bro I literally feel like I'm
about to cry
because I think it's it's it's a
two-part thing one I know how much
God I know how much your life can change
when you truly
allow when you truly allow to God to
come in and just change your life when
you truly just allow God to be God in
your life when you truly partner with
him and you follow his Commandments I
know how sweet that is I feel like I
found a cheat code in life bro
like and two I just I feel for the
people who have allowed their life to be
controlled by everything other than God
people who are lost people who need help
who know they need help and they just
can't find a solution and for some
reason they think it's not in the word
of God at this point I'm getting long-
winded
and I'm kind of just venting and letting
my emotions out but I don't know man
this is going to be extremely hard to
edit and actually published but man let
the word of God re free let it let it
run free let the word of God run rampant
in your life let the word of God
intoxicates you don't be afraid to be a
true servant and slave to righteousness
don't be afraid to be a Jesus Freak let
your tears run down in that worship song
let let your happiness and joy over the
Lord be exposed let people see how
amazing be
unapologetically tied to God and to the
truth it is truth why hide it this verse
is extremely significant I would love to
engage in some conversation with y'all
in the comments tell me your thoughts
and this tell me what's been challenging
you recently tell me different topics
that you want to hear about let's be
open let's be real let's be honest not
everyone is at the stage in their life
where they truly see the Bible as an
authoritative resource in their life not
everybody is at the point in their life
where they actually see the benefit of
spending hours hidden in the Lord's
presence not everyone is there but God
wants you to get there and he
understands that it is beneficial for
you to get there and you just need to
understand that because it is through
your faith because his grace is already
bestowed upon you like I said but it's
through your faith that you will get to
receive his rest to receive his peace
that surpasses all understanding to
receive his joy to receive his provision
to receive all these things that he has
promised you it is literally through
your faith so I hope that this encourage
you I hope that this challenge you I
love you very much I want to admit I
have not been doing as good as a job as
I should at being a stupid over this
channel I haven't been responding to as
many DMS as I should and uh I'm getting
on top of myself I needed to I need to
do better on that um so please forgive
me if you have shot me a DM or you've
put a comment and you've reached out to
me specifically and I have not responded
please forgive me and I'm going to to do
