yaitu dimana pengguna kita akan lebih penting dibandingkan kita sebagai desain, pada human center
design ini kita berfokus kepada produk atau solusi yang akan kita kembangkan untuk pengguna jadi kita
buat sesuai dengan kebutuhannya sesuai dengan keinginan dari penggunanya dan bukan berdasarkan
keinginan desainer saja. Maka dari itu dalam human center design kita perlu untuk menyatukan feedback
dan juga keinginan serta kebutuhan dari calon pengguna kita dalam setiap tahapan desain dan
pembuatan yang kita lakukan dan nantinya produk yang baik itu atau solusi yang baik
akan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan juga keinginan dari penggunanya. Untuk definisi dari human center
design sendiri adalah suatu pendekatan bagaimana kita mengutamakan kebutuhan kemudian kemampuan dan
juga kebiasaan manusia sebelum kita mendesain suatu solusi yang dapat mengakomodasi atau

terus semuanya serba bergeser ke digital dan ya teman-teman tahu ya uang fisik menjadi salah satu
risiko untuk terjadinya transmisi penyakit. Nah orang dipaksa, orang jadi terbiasa akhirnya untuk
memakai e-wallet dan sekarang sampai sekarang kita akan lebih banyak menemui penggunaan
e-wallet dibandingkan kembali menggunakan uang biasa. Nah jadi di sini juga teman-teman kita bisa melihat

tetapi ketika kita mengamati seseorang ketika melakukan suatu pekerjaan dan kita bisa melihat
ada kesusahan kah di situ, adakah mungkin bagian yang membuat dia tersendat dalam prosesnya. Nah di
situ yang kita akan mendefinisikan sebenarnya kebutuhan dari orang itu apa. Untuk menerapkan
human center design di dalam desain thinking kita bisa melakukan beberapa proses seperti
teman-teman ingat pada tahap pertama kita melakukan empathy ya teman-teman, kita berusaha
memahami permasalahan, kita memposisikan diri sebagai orang yang menghadapi masalah tersebut
kita bisa mendengarkan dari cerita Kemudian dari pengalaman mereka gitu ya, yang menjadi kesusahan
apa dan atau kita bisa melakukan riset secara etnografi, mungkin kebiasaan di sekitar situ apa
kemudian permasalahan-permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam kelompok itu seperti apa kebiasaannya yang
menjadi kultur budayanya seperti apa, kita bisa dapat dari situ. Misalnya nih Kalau dari segi
teknologi teman-teman tahu kan kenapa sekarang HP itu rata-rata ada sensor cahayanya. Nah kita
kalau misalnya lagi di luar dan panas terik gitu ya kita lihat HP kita kok gelap Gitu ya nah kita
secara otomatis manual harus geser brightnessnya supaya bisa kelihatan atau ke teman-teman kita
lagi foto-foto di tempat yang terlalu terang ya panas terbuka kan juga harus mengatur brightnessnya
supaya bisa terlihat nih kalau mau ngambil gambar. Nah dari permasalahan-permasalahan itulah
kita harus bisa sense making ya teman-teman kita berusaha menempatkan diri juga kalau misalnya
kita lagi di situasi seperti itu kan akan terasa masalahnya kita terasa repotnya di situ nah dari
situ juga kita bisa melakukan sistem mapping jadi permasalahan tersebut sebenarnya ada di bagian
sistem yang mana apakah dari penggunanya ataukah dari perangkatnya, apakah dari sensor yang ada
di dalamnya itu gitu ya. Kita bisa mapping sebenarnya yang menjadi masalah itu dari apanya atau mungkin
bahkan dari lingkungannya nah kita bisa menentukan dari situ setelah kita berempati Dan Kita
mendapatkan gambaran permasalahannya kita mendefine ya teman-teman, kita mendefinisikan
permasalahannya yang perlu dipecahkan itu apanya dan kita bisa mendapatkan insight atau
pandangan-pandangan dari cerita-cerita pengalaman atau dari riset-riset yang sudah kita lakukan dan
kita perlu mengajukan satu pertanyaan teman-teman Bagaimana caranya kita bisa untuk membantu mereka
itu seperti apa, bagaimana kita bisa memecahkan permasalahan tersebut, Bagaimana kita bisa
mewujudkan solusi itu menjadi nyata gitu ya Kalau mungkin dari solusinya yang terlalu
mengada ada gitu ya. Nah misalnya soal tadi ya merasa silau ketika kita di luar gitu ya dan HP
kita terlalu gelap nah solusinya Bagaimana kita bisa membuat si HP ini bisa menyesuaikan kondisi
pencahayaan yang ada di luar ruangan misalnya atau di ruangan manapun deh dengan intensitas
cahaya yang berbeda-beda. Nah kita definisikan nih bagaimana kita bisa membuat HP tersebut
menyesuaikan dengan namanya sensor kan, jadi sensor ini menangkap intensitas cahaya dan dari sensor
itu bisa mengukur kemudian bisa menyesuaikan nah itu nanti akan lanjut ke idenya. Jadi bagaimana
kita bisa menerapkan dari solusi-solusi yang sudah ada terhadap permasalahan yang kita hadapi gitu ya
jadi misalnya, Oke deh berarti kita butuh sensor yang bisa menangkap intensitas cahaya sensornya
mau segede apa atau ditempatkannya di sebelah mana Nah kita bisa mengambil dari ide-ide yang sudah
ada misalnya implementasinya di HP itu seperti apa kalau di perangkat lainnya seperti apa
kemudian juga kita bisa melakukan kolaborasi dengan calon pengguna misalnya mau desain HP
baru tapi kita perlu nih penempatan sensor cahaya di sebelah mana supaya optimal Apakah di atas
ataukah di bawah samping dan mungkin ketika penempatannya itu terlalu mencolok gitu ya
pasti user akan berkomentar atau penggunanya akan berkomentar, Ini kok ada kayak gini sih di sebelah
sini kayaknya kurang nyaman nih, jadi kita bisa sama-sama berkolaborasi untuk mewujudkan solusi
tersebut. Nah setelah kita mendesain kita membuat prototype atau purwarupanya jadi desain awalnya
kemudian setelah kita wujudkan Prototype tersebut Kita uji cobakan ke user misalnya kita buat sensor
cahayanya ada di atas ya di samping gitu ya kalau Biasanya kita di layar depan kita coba aja di
atas Apakah berpengaruh nah misalnya setelah dicobah ternyata nggak ada pengaruhnya malah
ketika ditaruh di samping atas ternyata tertutup oleh casing misalnya nah dari situ kan kita jadi
tahu Oh Ternyata kalau misalnya penempatannya di situ jadi ada permasalahan baru jadi tidak bekerja
dengan optimal, Terus mungkin kalau kayak gini bisa dipasang pakai casing yang bening tapi nggak mau
dong semua orang harus pakai casing yang bening misalnya seperti itu. Jadi dari situ kita bisa
memanfaatkan masukan-masukan dari pengguna atau mungkin permasalahan yang timbul ketika penggunaan
Prototype, untuk mengembangkan Prototype kita itu menjadi lebih baik lagi dan lebih tepat sasaran
Nah itu adalah pada tahap yang terakhir yaitu di testing. Oke selanjutnya teman-teman dalam kita
menerapkan human center design di dalam desain thinking kita tetap membutuhkan kemampuan yang
kita asah kita gunakan dalam desain thinking tentu saja. Yang pertama adalah empati dimana kita merasakan
bagaimana kebutuhan dan keinginan pengguna dan juga kebiasaannya, kira-kira pengguna ini biasanya
menggunakan suatu solusi atau suatu aplikasi atau suatu perangkat produk itu seperti apa.
Kemudian yang kedua adalah problem solving, jadi kita melihat permasalahan-permasalahan yang muncul
sebagai kesempatan kita untuk berinovasi, kita mengembangkan satu solusi yang lebih
bermanfaat lebih cocok mungkin lebih efektif dan efisien terhadap pemecahan suatu masalah.
kemudian yang ketiga yang menjadi bagian dari desain thinking dan human center design adalah iterasi
Jadi iterasi merupakan suatu siklus dimana kita belajar dari kekurangan di versi pendahulunya
mungkin dari solusi-solusi yang sudah ada tapi masih ada kekurangan gitu ya. Nah kita coba
improve dan juga kita menggabungkan masukan dari pengguna, masukkan dari
pengguna kita ketika mencoba Prototype kita untuk dikembangkan dalam versi yang lebih
baru dan lebih tepat sasaran tentu saja harapannya. Kemudian yang terakhir adalah kolaborasi, jadi kita
dalam memecahkan suatu permasalahan, ketika kita menyediakan suatu solusi kita perlu berkolaborasi
dengan anggota tim kita dan juga dengan pengguna kita supaya kita bisa mencapai tujuan yang sama
yaitu kita bisa memberikan solusi yang bermanfaat, tepat dan juga berdaya guna teman-teman. Nah jadi
itu teman-teman untuk materi kita pada kesempatan kali ini sampai jumpa di video berikutnya
selamat berproses, berkreasi dan berkembang bersama kami di kelas PDK.
