Transcripts
hi guys the business secretary isn't the
sharpest politician in Rishi Sonic's
cabinet but then I still believe that
people like him Boris Johnson and Li
trust deliberately put people in
positions of power that were incompetent
but provided no real threat to the
leader badok the brexiteer was asked
when she appeared on Sky News about
trade deals and the benefit of them she
resorted to lies and talking over the
host then she fell back onto the Old
Reliable
cptpp which was recently downgraded by
an independent body to adding just
0.04% to UK GDP it didn't go well you
know we were promised uh the best part
of eight years ago that brexit would
allow us to become a global power
particularly a global trading power
we've signed I think 70 deals now but
they're pretty much all what they call
rollover deals uh essentially what we
had before uh when we were in the EU but
they're very few New Deals and some of
the ones that we have signed with small
Partners like New Zealand responsible
for I think 2/10 of 1% of our trade um
we're not doing very well in signing all
the new trade deals are we we are doing
very well and that is not this that is
not quite this the story of what is
going on yes we immediately signed uh
about 73 uh trade deals on leaving
people said that we wouldn't get any of
those done and that what people we keep
hearing this argument from brexiteers
and her in particular people said that
we wouldn't be able to sign any trade
deals what people do these people have
any names because I remember at the time
saying yeah you can sign a trade deal if
the other country is willing to do it or
if you're willing to give away
everything as we saw when it came to
Australia and New Zealand if you give
away everything of course the cont yeah
sure we'll sign a trade deal with you
but uh if you want a good trade deal
then you need to invest time and effort
if you just want a piece of paper to
deliver to to Parliament to hold up and
say look we have a trade deal well then
yeah and you give away everything then
you can achieve that pretty quickly that
we were going to go backwards so we
succeeded in that but we
have I need to finish I need to finish
the I need to finish the the the answer
yes those some of those would have been
the same before but even then people
said that we couldn't do them but there
are some new ones like uh the
comprehensive and Progressive
transpacific partnership cptpp is huge
the
Indo you do most of your trade with your
neighbors we already know according to
Independent bodies that the increase in
GDP as a direct result of cptpp was
downgraded from
0.08% to
0.04% this is not some sort of
alternative to EU membership this is not
an alternative to being in the single
Market it adds very little now of course
and this is a forecast this is not
what's happening now this is a forecast
for the future what she tries to sell
another brexiteers try to sell is yes
but we're talking about the future
because the Asian economy is
growing but this forecast I believe
takes into account the growing
economy and it's still nothing even if
the the Asian economy grew by double
we're still talking about
0.08% of GDP add added to the UK economy
which is nothing
Pacific is where Global growth is going
to be coming from European growth is
shrinking and we are strengthening our
links with those countries on the other
side uh on the other side of the world
and our economy is 70 to 80% Services we
are not a Goods based economy and that
means that the deals which we sign need
to reflect the nature of the UK economy
we have overtaken France in
manufacturing our okay then here is
where we have the first lie well maybe
maybe it's not the first lie no isn't it
interesting that she said look let's not
focus on Goods let's focus on Services
because we sell most of our most of our
Trad is in services and then suddenly
she jumped to well we we're you our
manufacturing is bigger than France well
this is not true this is according to
full fact K bok's comments on UK
manufacturing success use data from 2021
just after the UK left the single market
and it says the figures while published
in September this year 2023 this was
actually refer to 2021 more recent
alternative data suggest that
Manufacturing in the UK has since Fallen
just slightly below that of France now
do you think K badok is going to correct
the record do you think she's going to
apologize for misleading the public what
do you think economy is growing faster
than Germany and France and other EU
countries when this is also another sort
of slight of hand smoke and
mirrors well our economy is growing
faster than France Germany and Italy yes
but if you're comparing
to growth after the pandemic when the UK
was in the worst position of course any
sort of growth is going to be faster
than the other other economies if you
start at the lowest point then of course
any growth is going to be faster so it
is important for people to know what the
facts are rather than the
facts you're lying to people and you're
claiming that the lies are facts focus
on a particular day in a particular
trade negotiation all right um the
biggest deal that we would want is with
the United States Mr Biden says there
won't be a trade deal anytime soon uh Mr
Trump when he was in office of course
talked about uh a deal four or five
times bigger than what we had at the
time are you looking forward to a trump
Victory uh it it is a shame that the US
current ly is not signing any free trade
agreements with any country so who's
holding the cards here this was the
brexiteer Mantra we will hold all the
cards so when Donald Trump the darling
of the conservative party you know in in
the US the darling of the right when he
was in charge there wasn't a there
wasn't a US UK trade
deal now Joe Biden is in charge there
isn't a UK a US UK trade deal whatever
way you want to put it so who holds the
cards you hold the person like the
person who wants the trade deal doesn't
always hold the cards the bigger
economy is probably the one who holds
the car so if the US says yeah we'd like
to have a trade deal with the UK then
there will be a trade deal not the other
way around I I really don't understand
why brexit heers don't understand this
we had gone uh quite a long way in terms
of negotiating a US UK uh Free Trade
Agreement as I was made to understand so
we hope that whoever it is who wins the
uh us election I have no idea who that
will be will be somebody who will look
again at the work that have been done
and hopefully we pick up where we left
off it's not dependent on the president
we've seen that
already it depends on Congress Congress
will do the negotiation and Congress
will sign off on a trade deal then it
will be passed to the president and the
president will sign off on that see this
is another thing that brexiteers are
trying to sell if Donald Trump gets into
Power then we can have a trade deal but
Donald Trump was in power for 4 years
and there wasn't a trade deal there was
negotiation but there wasn't a trade
deal signed off now I don't understand
why brexiteers also don't understand why
a trade deal with the US would not be
all not in the interest of the
UK because what are you going to see the
importation of hormone treated
beef lower standards these are the
things of course brexiteers think that
well as long as we have a trade deal
with the us we can hold it up and say
this is a brexit benefit but it's not a
brexit benefit it's not a benefit if
it's trashing your economy it's trashing
your farming sector as we've seen before
let me know in the comment section guys
what do you think as always your
comments are greatly appreciated thanks
a lot
