Transcripts
a few months ago I started using a small
red light therapy device and in a short
amount of time I started to experience
what I believe to be
some significant benefits so I kept
using that red light therapy device and
now it has been over 100 days since I
started doing this experiment and this
is my 100 day red light therapy
follow-up video the benefits not so
benefits and some other interesting
things I've been experiencing along the
way
but you gotta Focus so first things
first I want to retouch on some of the
benefits I was initially experiencing
within the first 10 days of doing red
light therapy and I want to answer if
those are still relevant now or if those
have improved so right away two huge
benefits I experienced with red light
therapy seemed to be an improvement in
sleep and a reduction in inflammation or
unnecessary inflammation first of all
when I started this experiment I noticed
that my Sleep Quality seemed like it was
improving looking into the research I
came across a study on these female
basketball players looking at their
exposure to this red light versus their
Sleep Quality now this study did show
improvements in sleep and improvements
in melatonin production amongst the
individuals using the red light device
compared to the control group however
let's get back to my own personal
experience with this red light therapy
after 100 days I have to say there is a
pattern that I have noticed list when it
comes to Sleep Quality and using the red
light device there have been enough days
now where I've been out in the sun not
out in the sun used the red light
therapy not use the red light therapy
and what I have noticed on days where I
can make it outside it's very sunny and
maybe I've been able to take my shirt
off you know wear shorts get a decent
amount of sun exposure not overexposure
just a decent amount of sun exposure on
my skin I feel like those nights I
generally sleep pretty well now on days
where it's been cloudy I don't really
get outside much and I don't use the red
light therapy device I have noticed that
my sleep sometimes like it just takes me
a little bit longer to go to bed
sometimes I'm more antsy I just don't
feel like I get the best sleep now where
I feel like the Gap is closed are on
those cloudy days or days where I don't
really get enough sun exposure if I use
the red light therapy device it seems
like I'm able to fall asleep faster and
I have better quality sleep comparable
to a day where I get decent Sun exposure
and just kind of maybe have a healthier
circadian rhythm so I feel like at the
very least the red light therapy has
been making up for that lost Sun on days
where I don't get adequate exposure
okay the next thing I want to touch base
on is inflammation when I first started
this red light therapy experiment I
noticed it felt like there was a
reduction in inflammation it really felt
like it helped resolve those micro
injuries so over these last 100 days
there have been a few times where I have
you know either minorly pulled something
or had a sore set of muscles here or
there for instance my knee on the medial
side or on the inside was actually kind
of bothering me quite significantly like
I was having trouble even doing spinning
moves on the trampoline like it really
didn't feel good and it didn't feel like
it was going away so what I did was I
started adding a five minute session at
the end of my red light therapy sessions
where I just concentrated the light
directly on that zone of the knee
literally on the day that I first used
it I noticed a significant relief in
pain and then within about two weeks the
injury was completely resolved at least
I didn't feel like there was any pain in
the knee anymore and still right now I
feel like it's completely resolved
another injury I do have to notice is
when I did that walking on all fours
experiment I wasn't too detailed about
this but my wrist was really clicking
when I was like turning my hand over
towards the end of that experiment and I
was kind of getting some pain in this
area of the wrist right here and I
remember shortly after doing that
experiment I was like okay let's put
this in the red light so I would do that
as I'm standing there for about a five
minute session it just felt like there
was a significant reduction in pain and
what it felt like was it just got like a
like a kick start over into healing
rather than just being stuck now
something interesting to note that I
experienced when using this red light
therapy for these micro injuries is the
injury actually didn't feel better when
I was using it in fact it felt like it
was a few hours later where all of a
sudden it was like oh yeah that's
loosening up all of a sudden and it was
almost like what did I do differently
today
oh yeah you know what I'm saying so I
don't know keep that in mind maybe if
you're like me and you want to use red
light therapy and it didn't seem like it
was happening right away well it might
take a few hours at least just based on
my experience now this is absolutely
crazy I found this study about the
mechanisms of application of the
anti-inflammatory effects of
photobiomodulation photobiomodulation is
just a fancy word for red light therapy
and you know I'll leave a link to this
in the description I believe it's just
like a compilation of a bunch of
different studies but in summary this is
really just looking at how this red
light therapy can actually measurably
reduce unnecessary inflammation in the
body which is just really cool if you'll
want to nerd out but I do want to keep
this video based mostly on my
experiences with doing red light therapy
for over 100 days now so skin and hair
let me touch on hair real quick did it
help me regrow hair well just looking at
these like dents on the side right here
and just My overall all scalp based on
my opinion I don't think it helped me
regrow any hair but I didn't lose any
hair so
I mean did my skin get tighter did I
notice a reduction in cellulite did old
scars improve so first of all something
that has been the same throughout every
red light therapy session is I feel like
I am more pumped after I finish my
session I feel like there is more blood
flow to like the surface of my skin and
pretty much immediately after each
session I do look like I have a lot of
color in my skin now this kind of goes
away throughout the rest of the day but
I think at the least it's helping with
blood flow now this could be due to an
increased nitric oxide production which
can help with blood flow that red light
therapy is said to be responsible for
however from my experience cellulite
stretch marks and scars I noticed
something amazing so regarding cellulite
I really don't have much if at all any
measurable amount of cellulite on my
body that I could have compared before
and after stretch marks I do have some
stretch marks on the side of my hips
here that I'll touch on in just a second
but improvements in scars in particular
a certain scar was in my opinion
phenomenal so a little over a year ago
now I did this experiment where I did a
thousand sit-ups in a day and on day one
doing 1000 sit-ups in the grass chafed
my upper buttocks so badly that I was
left with two thumb sized scars yeah do
you want to see my chafing what do you
mean my [ __ ] eggs
[Music]
oh my God CS for real guys and I are
joking
ew oh it seemed like these scars were
gonna be permanent they turned this just
like brown permanent scar looking color
and I was like oh great but I am not
even kidding I noticed within the first
10 days of starting this red light
therapy that my scar with an S plural
significantly became less noticeable and
after 100 days of doing red light
therapy you cannot see them at all I
mean maybe if you got in deep and you
really looked but if I look in the
mirror just like this I can't see a
thing I even had my wife look for it
she's like where did they go I'm like
red light therapy now I know this could
be a coincidence like all of a sudden my
scar could have just decided it's going
to get better red light therapy or not
keep in mind the majority of my sessions
the red light has been concentrated on
my lower back buttocks regen so this has
been one of the most consistent areas
that I've been concentrating this light
at least five days a week at least 10
minutes a day well now only five minutes
using this more powerful one I'll get to
that in a second but still just
consistently using it over and over
again at that area one more thing to
keep in mind though is maybe this also
wasn't a super deep scar it was really
just a chafed area well a pretty severe
chafed area so it wasn't like super deep
but it wasn't going away until I did the
red light experiment now regarding
stretch marks on the side of my hips
right here I haven't noticed a
significant Improvement in those stretch
marks but when I look at the before and
after it does actually look like those
stretch marks may have lightened up a
bit that would be pretty incredible well
I don't know what do you think one more
thing I want to touch on before I get
into the not so benefits is just every
time after I do a red light therapy
session I feel just better I feel like I
have a better mood I feel more relaxed I
feel healthier this could all just be
Placebo but I've been doing this for
over a hundred days now and this is
probably one of the biggest reasons why
I'll continue to do this you know a lot
of what we do is just based on feeling I
have to admit that and if it's going to
be making me feel better then why not
you know what I'm saying so something
important that I failed to mention in
that interview setting is when I'm
actually doing my red light sessions I
tend to not wear any shorts like I don't
have any clothes on so all of the
example Clips you guys have seen
throughout this video are either older
Clips where I still just kept my shorts
on or just for b-roll purposes but yes
just keep in mind that when I do this
normally front and back I'm not wearing
anything I personally feel like it gives
me better contact I feel like it just
works better now something else I failed
to touch on in this review video is
hormone regulation especially what a lot
of guys are looking for is testosterone
optimization I don't have any blood work
from before or after or anything like
that and even if I did it would still
just be a correlation but the one thing
I can say just based on my experience is
I have been having better sleep ever
since using this which can help with
better testosterone production and I
always just feel a sense of well-being I
feel good after having a red light
session and whether that's because I'm
increasing testosterone slightly or not
or just improving hormone balance or not
I'm feeling better so I'm in a better
mood and then that just kind of has a
domino effect for the entire day a
positive domino effect so I cannot say
for certain if there's any direct
enhancement in hormones that are good
but what I can say is based on how I
feel I do feel like just every time
feeling better I'm feeling in a good
mood I feel good now the not so good or
not so benefits well from my experience
so far I actually haven't had anything
critically bad happen like I didn't get
like burned by the light or something
crazy like that but what I'm considering
not so beneficial is I guess diminishing
returns so when I first started using
red light therapy I was using this
smaller device right here and it didn't
cover that big of an area so I was doing
this in five minute sessions on the four
quadrants of my body and I felt like I
could bump that up to about twice a day
now for the past month I've been using
this bigger red light device right here
which is also more powerful and I feel
like I'm getting the same benefits in
only about 10 minutes only about five
minutes each side literally so I
literally cut the time in half and I
didn't have to move it up and down but
what I have noticed is now that I have
this bigger one I've been able to bump
up the time to the old amount of time to
see if I'd get more benefits but it
doesn't seem that way it seems like
there is a point where you really kind
of stop getting the benefits and you're
just kind of wasting your time so with
the bigger device that's only about 10
minutes for me about five minutes aside
I noticed that seems to be the sweet
spot with this old device it was like
five minutes a quadrant so more isn't
always better it kind of like
also diminishing returns unfortunately
regarding injuries yes it does
absolutely seem to help me with those
micro injuries but those more chronic
deeper injuries for example my shoulder
I think that's just a very deep injury
that has been developing for many years
an old breaking injury and just uh it
does seem like after doing the red light
directed in that area for only about
five minutes that the pain later in the
day is less and maybe there is some
reduction in inflammation going on maybe
there even is some healing going on but
overall in general I've been doing this
for over a hundred days now this area is
still injured maybe it's not as bad as
it used to be maybe it's just going to
take more time keep in mind this injury
has been for years now so yeah it I'm
gonna say it definitely may have helped
but it didn't cure it maybe you'll have
to do another follow-up on just these
more chronic injuries maybe in like a
year or something let me know so what is
the new red light device that I've been
using and I absolutely love I think it's
so much better than my old one well this
is the middle Pro 1500 by Mito red light
oh frick yeah wow that's so nice so
their pro model delivers the same 660
nanometer red light and the 850
nanometer near infrared light but it
also delivers another peak of 630
nanometers as well as an 830 nanometer
which is supposed to further enhance
cytochrome C oxidase activity I guess
you can think of that as like one of the
origins where all of these benefits are
coming from you know deep inside of the
cells what I can really say is based on
my experience using this bad boy I am
not only getting all the benefits I was
getting from before using the smaller
device but I feel like I'm getting it
way quicker I feel like this is more
powerful like I'm able to kind of stand
maybe about 12 inches away from this and
get maybe even what feels like more
exposure than this smaller light right
here I'm still able to get both the red
light and the near infrared light
wavelengths solid quality build inner
cools got those fans in there it's got a
nice selective controller over here I
can set the amount of time I can set the
mode to just the regular red light the
near infrared light or both of them at
the same time I always do both of them
at the same time now I must disclose
Mito red light did reach out to me
wondering if I wanted to have one of
their products to feature in a video and
after researching their company looking
at their products I agreed and I am
happy I did so because this thing has
been an absolute Time Saver I love it
it's super high quality and I also was
able to join medo red lights affiliate
program so if you are interested in
checking out Mido red lights I have my
affiliate Link in the description if you
purchase any device or product I will
get a commission now with that being
said this is a Mido pro model they offer
a variety of different models and
different sizes if you wanted a model
comparable to the one I started with
you'd probably be looking at the Mido
mid now just in case you're wondering
EMF or electromagnetic field does this
thing produce an EMF and how much
according to mito's website an
independent reviewer reviewed this this
one compared to 12 other models and this
one produced the least amount of EMF in
its same class but as you guys may know
I do have an EMF detector so I put my
EMF detector up against this one on full
blast what I noticed was up against the
light there was a higher amount of emfs
but upon pulling the EMF detector away
at about six inches it went down a
significant amount then at about 6 to 12
inches EMF went down to its normal level
now with my old device right here EMF
was at a normal level at about two or
three inches away from this thing but
keep in mind this is way less powerful
than this bad boy when I was using this
I was standing within about six inches
of this light for treatment so with this
one I've been standing at about a foot
or a little bit more than a foot away
and I feel like I'm getting the same
benefits that I've always been getting
if not even better to be honest with you
in a less amount of time at a further
distance away which also allows the
light to cover for more surface area so
in my opinion the pro model is an
absolute thumbs up for me at least this
thing also comes with hooks so you can
hang it from something a door latch so
you can hang it up on top of a door and
Mido also sent me a stand and a stand is
what I've been using now the stand can
roll around it does come with wheels but
I just like it flat on the ground like
this huge shout out to medo red lights
for sending me this it's such a blessing
to have this pro model it's saving me a
ton of time I feel like I'm getting even
better treatment and I'm excited to use
this from here on out also if you
haven't noticed some of these examples
this thing has an expansion where you
can essentially put another cord in in
the back here and attach it to other red
light devices so I'm like yo why not
basically sometimes when I use it I
chain attach it to this one and just you
know why not use it that one at the same
time now if you do decide to start
experimenting with red light therapy it
is recommended that you start with
shorter sessions like two minutes or
three minutes aside at the most just to
see how your body your skin responds to
the exposure to the red light I would
also recommend if you you're going to
use a more high powered model like this
to stand about a foot away from this
thing they say you can stand up to you
know six inches if you want to but if
you're starting you know a foot to even
two feet you can still definitely get
benefits based on my experience and this
would just be a good precaution to take
to be sure your skin responds well to
this I believe there have been reports
of people you know getting like kind of
like a rash from doing this but that has
never happened to me so just start slow
see where you're at and then you can go
from there also it is recommended
especially when you're using the near
infrared wavelength light which is
invisible to the naked eye that you
still wear eye protection because there
have been some conflicting evidence
whether that could be damaging to the
eye or actually helpful for the eye but
overall it just doesn't hurt to wear the
eye protection now my routine going
forward is going to be what it has been
for the last couple of months and that
is on average of five times a week for
now what is only 10 minutes a day five
minutes aside with this pro model I'm
still feeling like I'm getting those
same amount of benefits I feel like
that's my sweet spot and that's what
I'll continue doing forward from here
let me know if you guys want to see more
videos on this if you want to see an EMF
video on where I just test out EMF on
everything thank you all so much for
watching this video I hope it was
informative hope you enjoyed it don't
forget to subscribe turn those
