[Music]
Foundation hey guys playing a little
musical chairs it's okay I know they're
like sit on the end I gotta some fun
walk Walkin music you guys had there
little little uh little Nashville like
for you we're here to close it that's
right a little country music as we uh we
come to close here uh Britney Neil
really appreciate you guys jumping in
and helping to close out and round out
this year's edition of Bitcoin Builders
we've talked endlessly over the last two
days about the Bitcoin ecosystem what's
been happening what might be happening
in the coming months and Brittney I'm
gonna hold off on you having been a part
of the STA ecosystem in Bitcoin for a
long time Neil I'm going to start with
you coming from the appt side seeing the
move ecosystem what is your thinking
around really building on
bitcoin uh first thank you for having me
I I just want to set the stage I
participated in the stacks reggae plus 5
years ago so I've been in a Stacks uh
Community member for quite some time um
so it's it's it's an honor to be here
and you told me you never sold a stack
yet so I have not but the reason is not
what you think I lost my keys so I
physically can't sell
yeah so I am a I am a holder for life
that's you know everyone appreciates
that I can say so since that you you've
been in the the Stax ecosystem for 5
years now having seen it really Thrive
and expand across the greater Bitcoin
ecosystem what's got you excited now
being a part of Aptos it's a really good
question so so as a reminder for folks
Aptos is a layer one blockchain it was
born out of uh Facebook's Libra project
um essentially meant to on board the
masses of both users and developers to
build nextg applications and so we've
been doing just that we launched in
October of 2022 since then our ecosystem
has exploded with developers both Crypt
native as well as from web 2 that are
building these new Innovative use cases
um more recently we started thinking
about where a lot of uh I mean like
where I come from I I entered the space
through Bitcoin right like that was me 8
years years ago thanks to bitcoin I'm
here but that bag of Bitcoin has not
really moved or done anything in those
eight years and so we're thinking
internally about how we can change that
um and so we're excited to work with
with folks like stack and uh and others
in the space of how we can make some of
these assets more productive that's
that's great britty I want to come to
you I mean you've been a part of stack
for for a very long time an OG of ogs I
2014 got involved with black stack that
helpx OG on that my decade birthday yeah
that said you know what advantages can
Stacks offer to unlock Bitcoin utility
we've talked just panel before $1.3
trillion dormant Capital what can Stacks
bring to opening and unlocking that
Bitcoin utility or future use cases yeah
I think like we've all been waiting for
real world use cases and it is kind of a
shame that you know plenty of people
have been sitting on bitcoin for years
or decades or a decade more um looking
to build like how can I actually use
this how do I do something besides sit
on it and I think there's been some you
know technology updates that have
happened on the Chain but also things
like Stacks l2s we're getting Nakamoto
sbtc is coming live these have been in
R&D for years and we now actually have
all the things kind of coming together
that we can actually utilize Bitcoin
create a native onchain um asset for for
Bitcoin that can then be used in these
applications and then once that opens up
it's just kind of like endless like you
think of things like oh you can put real
world assets on chain like real estate
or anything that's high value that you
want to represent on there but even
going into things that are a little more
um new new Edge like AI like how are we
going to be able to use Bitcoin payments
or L2 payments in things like artificial
intelligence feeding models training
models um sharing models so I'm just
like so excited that we are finally here
and we get to pull all of these other
great um builders in the ecosystem like
bringing apps into the Bitcoin L2 World
deeper um having them join us as a
signer is a really big thing that we're
super excited to announce here um and
that we know that they're going to be
able to bring their developers and their
expertise and further what we already
see the momentum with Stacks yeah and
I'd say developers isn't the only thing
right so apas were were pretty focused
on uh some of our financial use cases
with both defi developers as well as
traditional financial institutions and
those financial institutions they also
entered the space through Bitcoin and
they're super excited about not only
what applications they can build on
chain what they can tokenize but also
what they can do with Bitcoin and so uh
speaking of real world assets and some
of the tokenization efforts this is
going to be a huge theme for us so
that's that I want to nerd out with both
of you on to two different things britty
AI we've talked endlessly about it it's
a a huge thing that you're focused on
right now talk to us a little bit about
Bitcoin and AI how does that look a year
from now as we're just in those very
early days of of crypto and AI yeah well
you know there's this idea of the
convergence that these two um these two
great Technologies are kind of coming
together and what the future is going to
look like AI is um you know it's using a
ton of models and right now a lot of
those are close- sourced and when you
think about the ideal of Bitcoin and you
bring that into AI what's open source
how do people collaborate how do you get
paid for those collaborations how to use
um you know computers can make payments
on your behalf you can sort of Warrant
things forward I think that's just the
beginning of you know kind of like the
level one ways that Ai and Bitcoin it's
like the largest store of value it's the
most Global it's the most accepted are
going to go hand inand um but then it
gets into like other use cases of Ai and
like being able to have agents work on
your behalf or even the way that we've
seen this convergence of the demand for
energy Bitcoin miners creating all these
really clean energy sources to fund
Bitcoin miners that same amount of
processing power and energy is being
demanded by Ai and I think you're going
to see a lot of overlap in these ideas
of like how do you actually push energy
forward and clean energy forward so it's
cheap and it's able to power these two
technologies in parallel so that's just
a sneak peek if anyone wants to ner out
on that um I'm happy to spend 30 minutes
doing so just just a small just a small
sneak peak I will say uh talking about
convergences apos one of the definitions
is a convergence of two rivers and so
we're we're excited to be potentially
that uh that convergence Point yeah so
so Neil you can't just tease that out
cut ass convergence of convergence what
are you excited about at apos Labs right
now and apos in general when it comes to
the convergence of not just Bitcoin but
the greater uh Industries and categories
that you guys are focused on right now
yeah I think right now we're starting to
see I mean we've been talking about the
institutions coming for the last three
Cycles but it's finally here and you
know credit to folks like BlackRock that
are pushing the industry forward and
pushing all the stakeholders forward
with things like the Bitcoin ETF um and
then the E ETF and Biddle and all their
other products that they're coming to
Market with and for us we're we're like
ready for all of that to come to Market
um and we're supporting as many
financial institutions as we can by
being that convergence between the two
rivers of web 3 and the traditional
Financial landscape um and so we're
going to see a lot more both
tokenization of traditional Financial
assets but how do we use Bitcoin in some
of these traditional Landscapes also
yeah Neil we're excited to welcome you
and the apos community to bitcoin
Builders and to the Great greater
Bitcoin country as we're sitting here in
Nashville right now what sets the apos
community apart from many others as you
start to enter and look at the potential
of Bitcoin from those institutions that
you're talking about yeah I I think
starting with
similarities I think the ethos and
culture around Bitcoin is very much a
shared culture and shared ethos around
Bitcoin as an asset as a store of value
the say the apos community is very
similar where they see apos as their
entry point into this next Frontier of
where they can build their next
Generation applications and so while
it's two completely different reasons
for being in the space it's quite
similar um and so we're excited to put
those two together and see what comes
out of it yeah and I think with that um
you know for the builders here for the
builders listening I think um you're
going to see a lot more collaboration uh
with our our respective communities and
we've uh been working on creating a
working group so if you're like hey this
is the intersection of things that I
care about I believe in Bitcoin I
understand the financial I want to kind
of bring those together um we're opening
up uh more more ways to participate with
that so we like highly encourage you get
involved if you're of interest um
because I think that all that's going to
come of it is more stuff built on
bitcoin that we can all actually use so
we're incredibly excited uh for this
opportunity definitely uh we uh we have
an internal R&D team at apos where we
put out a bunch of different products
and now that entire R&D team is is
excited to be working with saacks on a
few things that'll come to Market soon
yeah wonderful Brittney Neil thank you
both very much again for stepping in
last minute to join us here to share
some exciting news and to close us out
here at Bitcoin Builders a big round of
applause for Britney and
Neil guys thank you so much
