my husband is one that's a real positive
kind of guy and he doesn't let me think
negative thoughts he believes and I
guess I sort of do to that sometimes if
you're thinking too negative you might
bring it on and well I don't know that
that's true I don't think I should dwell
in the negative I just don't want to
dwell in the negative and I know that if
I go in to see the doctor and my tests
are up then it looks like something
could have happened
well then we'll address it at that point
and tomorrow's another day things are so
different now than they were twenty some
thirty years ago so it's trying to throw
the negative out of your head stay very
positive and then I guess I'm just
grateful grateful is the word I am in I
guess it was in February that I found a
lump in my growing small lung thought it
was a lymph node that I had some
infection watched it for one week and
said it didn't go away if it doesn't go
away I go to the doctor and came back
that it was either ovarian fallopian
tube cancer or some type of cancer and
something I went in to see dr. de Riga
and for that week it was scary
because you know you go on the internet
and you think you've got to do the
ovarian cancer is a fallopian tube
cancer is it this cancer that cancer I'm
just like everyone else I'm sort of a
Google Minette and I put it in and I put
everything in and I reread and reread
and reread and reread things and I
realized that there's was nothing that
pinpointed exactly my path when I saw
percentages like survived so long this
and this that I only looked at those
that survived and figured I could do
this I just had to I have to
when I got in for the appointment
you know dr. Dorito was there Aarthi his
nurse practitioner Becky the nurse his
whole team and he had reviewed the file
he'd looked it over and he they he kept
clicking through his pictures of the CT
scan of this and that going you don't
have cancer in your liver it's not in
this one it's not there
it is in the nodes and then the words
were I think we can we can I think we
can do this wasn't oh I think we can
heal this it was I think we can do this
and at that point both my husband and I
were very very relieved
we didn't know what the outcome would be
but the confidence that they had made me
realize that it didn't mean that
something bad was going to happen at
that point I was set with a surgery date
I had a surgery date
I wasn't too scared and I've had a lot
of surgery so the surgery wasn't doctor
Dirigo made me feel was only very
confident and I think it's always worse
for my husband who has to wait in the
waiting room in it it's always longer
than they say it will be and then he
came out to my husband with a big grin
on his face and he said you know I've
seen results before and I've had good
results but you know um I can't believe
how well the chemotherapy has worked I
found no cancer in there the pathology
may show differently but I think we have
a really good result on our hand so you
know as far as what the long-term is on
it your attitude and so forth I'm gonna
make it you know I've got this I've got
this I'm gonna make it and I'm grateful
for that just really grateful for that
but it's all and having a positive
attitude and trying to put the negative
out
