The 2023 Lib Tech Lost Rocket Snowboard Review
Summary

Outlines

Transcripts
hello snowboarders of the internet i'm
your host adrian lafiber and in this
video we're going to be reviewing the
lib tech lost rocket redo that's right
they redid it this board features
mervin's directional c3 so what you get
is a longer flat section in the nose
then it comes up into that new edge
camber with a slight hinge point right
between the feet and then you've got a
smaller flat section in the tail this is
going to give you that load pop snap and
drive of traditional camber but you're
gonna have ease of entry in and out of
turns from that flat section as well as
more optimal powder float this board is
available in 152.5
157.5 and 161.5
i rode this board at arapahoe basin on
what can best be described as a surprise
powder day so you had overcast skies
slightly cooler temps about 10 inches of
fresh pow on top of chop
chunder a little bit of ice and there
were some
soft soft
groomers in spots and i wrote it with my
rom black label bindings and my k2
thraxis boots obviously this has a fully
directional free ride flex so what you
get is a softer nose that stiffens up
right before the front insert pack it
stays at that stiffness to just outside
the rear insert pack and then the tail
gets a little bit stiffer the torsional
flex is there
but it's not overly abundant you notice
that you can ankle steer with it when
you need to when it comes to stability
this board will get bucked around in
really choppy terrain that nose is just
soft enough that any energy that you hit
with it just resonates back under the
front foot now
when you're in more smoother terrain
that center of the board is actually
damp and that's what libtech boards are
actually known for this will actually
plow through medium chop pretty well
it's just that nose tends to get bucked
around when you yee-haw leroy jenkins
right into something
so be aware of that for the most part
this thing will chunder bust with
relative ease from the front foot back
through the tail it's just that nose
gets a little catty wampus with this
board being more directional you've got
that camber slightly set back so all
your pop pretty much comes off your back
foot and that little bit of tail that
you've got there
what you put in is what you get out it's
got enough pop to let you porpoise
through snow and kind of pop off a
roller but it's not the snappiest deck
out there when you're trying to really
boost a side hit into some pow you got
to be calculated you got to put a little
more effort into it if you're a little
more laid back you're just going to get
less pop with it yeah i'm not gonna lie
i didn't pow butter with it i was too
busy smashing pow to care about
buttering in the pow i just wanted to
slash and smash and that's what i did so
when i got this on a groomer it became a
bit washy
it's got a slow edge to edge engagement
and even when you're driving your knee
into the center of that c3 camber
profile to push off the tail you don't
pick up any extra speed or power it just
stays locked in on edge i know that they
market this as a board that can carve
but realistically it's designed for deep
days pow smashing like riding 10 inches
of pow this thing was phenomenal i'd get
it on a groomer and i'd be like
okay mellow carves here i come till i
get back to the chair lift that's
really what it was good at it's just one
of those boards that just doesn't have a
lot of power to drive it for a carve
it's really designed for flotation who's
this board for the medium to deep day
powder chaser so one thing i noticed
with this board was that i actually got
back leg burn which with most power
boards i'm riding these days i don't
really get that so that was kind of a
bit of a surprise the other thing is
the nose is so soft that when you get
into choppy terrain it gets bucked
around and you feel it but when you're
in fresh untracked terrain
this board's absolutely phenomenal
you're slashing and you're smashing at
the end of the day it was kind of a
middle-of-the-road powder board it
didn't really stand out as being overly
exceptional but it wasn't bad
like if i was only riding fresh pow with
this thing i'd be totally happy with it
but
since it was spring and the snow got
lumpy and warm as everyone else showed
up and you're cutting through people's
lines it was getting choppy so you get
around with it and it's one of
those things where
you know you were feeling it at the end
of the day comparable boards the
rossignol sashimi the capitol navigator
the signal tail gunner binding
recommendations the bent metal action
the rome vice the k2 lineup this has
been my review of the lib tech lost
