Transcripts
okay so this is part three of the
Galatian study I have we've only done
two days but I have really enjoyed this
so far I felt like revelations being
sick and God has been good so we
yesterday we were looking at the first
five verses did anybody have any
thoughts or questions or revelation
around those first five verses just and
give you opportunities however you know
God has put on your heart
I had yellow press referencing today
right where we were saying that if our
peace is not accepted we shall shake our
the - I'll help it yeah all right
so my next question now is how do we
take the piece back of course we know
that it's not it's not asking us to take
fourth text you know can you do this to
me you cannot accept me so I will do
harm back to you or I'll say nasty
things you we know that it's not what
the Bible is teaching us but when we
render the Scriptures it take back our
peace what do what does that actually
imply do we ignore them leave them or
what and because I'm asking is the cost
of 2nd Timothy 4:2 okay it teaches us to
you know to go about teaching within
else of stable patients how do i
reconcile Matthew 10:32 seconds in the
faithful to fulfill methylation
okay yeah so Dean's last
first because that's probably easier
part to deal with and that's context was
you know Timothy Paul writes to Timothy
in the context of relating to Christians
generally you know Paul is a younger
Timothy as a young apostle and Paul is
mentoring him in the process of growing
his Apostleship and so he really
encouraged him to you know to let's read
the verse again yeah do too sorry okay
preach the word be prepared in season a
season correct rebuke encourage yes so
in the context of the New Testament
church
the only people I am correcting and
rebuking a Christians I am NOT called to
correct and repeat the world because the
world is not held to the standards of
the church in this is referring to
Timothy is in his preaching and Ministry
of the word within the church context
very specific and focus when when Jesus
is talking about going from city to city
he's talking about itinerant apostolic
ministry really where you're going from
place to place and you're looking for
wherever being received and in that way
and when we're not receive we at some
point shaytans of Salafi and go on to
the next place you know they're very
different in context and I think this is
really important when reading scripture
is like who is
right and smoking too you know we do
this a lot we'd like the words of Jesus
you know and Jesus at different times he
talked to the disciples he told some
Pharisees unbelievers so who so not the
things when Jesus is rebuking the
Pharisees yeah that hates me and you you
know when he says you brood of horrible
people but don't take that on because
that's not written for you you know and
so is I think it's when we're reading
Scripture is asking the question who is
the writer talking to so you know an
example is when Jesus said when you fast
them pray who is he talking to still
going to choose it's not you can't use
that as a New Testament verse to just
invite us to the breath that is a very
specific he is talking to a Jewish
concepts and the Jewish religion teaches
very strongly about fasting and so he's
saying to them in their context about
what they're doing okay when you fast
this is how you need to do it in order
to redeem what's in that context so I
think you know always let me ask you who
is the writer talking to you know so in
this way he's talking to Timothy and
he's talking really in the context of of
being an apostle and really ministering
a lot to Christians so he's correcting
and rebuking encouraging and in that
sense we always should be ready and we
should have great patience and we should
have careful instruction and we should
be ready in season analyses but when
we're first looking to make a
breakthrough in an area and this is what
we really miss these two verses are
referring Matt in 10 it's referring to
then you don't just keep hitting your
head up against a brick wall you go
where you received and where you
received you stay and you build so here
in 2 Timothy Timothy has already gone to
that place he's broken through he's
being received and now he is building
apostolic so Matthew tanning
really referring to that initial
apostolic send in which is being sent
which is when you're scouting up land
where is God sending me and then when
you scout that the landing god side to
bring people around you okay
preach the word being prepared in seed
and announcement and correct review
because that's really referring to the
community of believers I believe that's
my thoughts Alex you get very animated
dude no I just I just see that in my own
life with ministry stuff like that's I
never I never understood the passage
that you're just talking about like what
does it mean to you know leave your
piece somewhere but now like after you
just explained it it makes perfect sense
that like that's what happened so that's
why I was getting excited yeah I could
see you know just realizing when we read
scriptures we don't just read it carte
blanche you know that you need to know
who is he talking who is the right
talking to what's the context of that
and is that applicable to me because do
you know what not all of the Bible all
the Bible is for you but not all the
Bible is to you so when Jesus listens
the Pharisees that isn't for you
when if Jesus is you know talking to
Pontius Pilate that is a now you can
glean truth from it but ultimately when
we're reading scripture word word
interpreting through the revelation of
the finished work of the cross you know
it will in turn through that lens of his
done religion has come to an end I mean
a relationship with God I mean Union and
imperfection you know and from that then
you can interpret correctly the problem
is so many people will interpret
scripture based on Old Testament sort of
thinking you know and that's you what
we're not we're not Jews you know if
we'd have to
beards free and we could eat pork and we
won't be able to wear polyester but you
know we're not under the law and so we
have to interpret Scripture from the
position through the eyes of Jesus
that's what we need to do interpret from
the eyes of Jesus and what the cross
actually means and in terms of leaving
your people it doesn't say I don't think
it's to take back your pieces I said
your piece will return to you so I think
you know when you meet somebody for the
first time and you can tell that they
don't like you you know you just got the
instant buy off them and they're very
there's something in you that requires a
little bit and you and you're not as
friendly to the bishop would to be
somebody else say was warm to me and I
think it just happens automatically
later I think you know when somebody
receives as an hi it's something that
reaches out and connects but if that
doesn't happen I just we don't engage
them in an automatic response really you
know it's something that happens
naturally that you know when I've gone
to different places and ministry I know
where I'm receiving where I'm not you
know and I the benefit and the blessing
that people receive is based on how long
how we received so people receive me
they're going to receive a big blessing
they're gonna receive revelation gonna
receive friendship or through but when
you feel that you know caution check
whatever it's it's just that we don't
have to necessarily worry about taking
it back I just think you you know what
you've received them when you're not
particularly if the cause of the
prophetic you should be able to discern
that really easily you know that it's
and any ounce of prophetic senator oh no
not received here nobody likes me
you know and so we just gotta go not be
offended by that but just realize you
don't have a grace person flattery
because we're not called to have grace
for everybody we'll only call to a few
Jesus only did deep life with 12 people
and he only did even deeper life with
three people which was Peter James and
John so I you know don't think if we
think we're going to have relationship
and have connection with everybody then
we're not we're gonna have God we're
gonna have God once have deep
relationships few in number because
that's what Jesus did Jesus horn is
right into twelve people and those
twelve people for their lives into other
people and those other people poured
their lives and so it's this idea of
multiplication you know and so as as I'm
sharing with you guys my hope is that
you go and whatever revelation got it
brings through these calls that will do
that you take that revelation you go and
do live with other people that you've
gone walk with them and you pour out
your revelations they're not saying oh
this is what it says but actually this
is what the Holy Spirit's be assuring me
and before it in so we're all called to
be disciples in other people and there's
got nothing to do with anything a little
bit but there we go yeah
so you're peaceful compact you've become
active automatically you'll feel we've
all felt it okay Lena yes it's all right
no they should it's just realizing that
you know from Matthew to Revelation is a
timeline in about sixty years so we've
got to realize Revelation is
progressively even even in the new
testament church the revelation was
building day by day by day by day you
know in Acts chapter 9 Peters to the
racist
hates white people Acts chapter 10 he's
no longer a racist why because God's not
a racist you know and so even Peter was
growing in his revelation and I think
we've got to be aware of that when we
read scripture a timeline of people
growing with dart
and so just having be servant when we
read in fact hopefully that answers that
and any of the thoughts I liked what
your friend David said on on our group
in the comments he said that one of the
things that he noticed was Paul not only
said who he was in declaring you know
himself as an apostle of Jesus but he
also said who he wasn't in that same
statement that he wasn't sent by the
Roman elites and he wasn't sent by you
know the older apostles as the and the
new fresh young guy or whatever um he
was not worthy to be chosen but he was
chosen by Jesus himself
and that's you know that's what he was
saying in that statement I liked what
what your friend said about not only did
he declare who he was but he also in the
same statement said who he wasn't I
thought that was cool yes yes yes we've
got ten minutes of this Cole left
believe it or not so for the rest I'm
gonna share what I'm going to share ten
minutes is we will continue tomorrow I'm
gonna take no questions and I'm just
going to teach tomorrow with no
questions and then the day after we'll
do questions and we'll alternate it
between the two in that way we can get
the most out of everything okay I think
that's going to be wise so Paul this
this is a fun little thing that the Holy
Spirit point to my heart about Paul and
his journey and he relates to the book
of Galatians in a sort of historical way
you know because
then today when Paul who was called up
see souls of Saul of Tarsus he would it
be he would have known who Jesus was he
would have been a contemporary of Jesus
you know Paul of the soul of Tarsus was
times the Sanhedrin which is the ruling
council of them Israel at the time you
know so he would have known who Jesus
was you know so when he met Jesus on the
road to Damascus that's not the first
time he was meeting them if we would
have known Jesus who have known not only
the stories about the Christians but he
would have would have known Jesus was a
really interesting verse that's usually
mistranslated and where Paul talks about
his conversion process and he talks
about he talks about here we go yes 1
Corinthians 5:18
and this refers to Paul's conversion so
this is so I'm not building a doctrine
on this but I think it's an interesting
before particularly what we think in
relationship to people one witness 518
they talked to Mack himself he says and
last of all he appeared to me also as to
one born at the wrong time most
translations said maybe that's what your
translation would say other translations
say as to one who was abnormally born
and most of the translations look at
them say born out of town in other words
he was born into the kingdom of God out
of time at the night of time the place I
mean those words are really weird
so I looked them up in the Greek and
that word untimely birth or born at the
wrong time does
mean like your premature birth it
actually means abortion so when so
poorly saying and last of all he
appeared to me as one who was at one
time aborted I was like what does that
mean and I prayed about it and the Holy
Spirit put my high said and Paul was the
rich young ruler ala when I heard that
that's mental
I literally never as like that's crazy
so I went and did some google never
heard this before and there is strong
suggestive theological studies that
suggest there are two stories about the
original ruling and we tend to think
that the same person but actually the
two stories in the two different Gospels
there's a slight difference in the story
with one Jesus ghost in the story that
we know and in the second one he goes to
Sereno and then he says and he looked on
him and loved him and so there's a
slight difference in the two stories and
so theologians of and I didn't know this
conjectured that actually that was saw
of Tarsus who came to meet Jesus and GE
because he wanted to follow him because
he's always back following the lady's
teacher he followed Gamaliel very very
closely you know so he's now the new
teacher who is even better than Gamaliel
okay what must I do to inherit eternal
life and Jesus says sell all you have
and the word became aborted in his heart
it got sparse and he never gives a full
faith until a decade later now I don't
I'm not building any theology on that I
just I think it's really good when we
think about people's encounters with God
that there's a journey that they go
through and I don't think I think Paul
was
the same and when we were relating to
people you know we may be it may be the
start of the journey or the end of a
journey but there is a journey that
people go on in God I know that's a big
thought I threw out there and I'm not
saying it's anything you know and I'm
not saying thus saith the Lord I just I
just needed an interesting point that
I'd never heard before and the Spirit
put it in my heart and other people have
sort of more scholarly than I and I just
think you know pork has had an
interesting journey you know it didn't
start on the road to Damascus you know
salvation doesn't start with and giving
your life to Jesus salvation starts in a
slow process over a long period of time
and I think sometimes particularly you
know we're very passionate about m'angil
ism we focus on saying the prayer and
getting people into the kingdom in that
in that moment but actually there was a
process that people have to go through
in order for their hearts to be fully
ready to receive the gospel and I don't
think Paul would have been any different
personally you know we know a lot too
that falls early life and you know so
again it's only a small thing but it's
something to think about in terms of SAW
and who he is as a person and his
journey you know because he's this
incredible guy who it highly intelligent
but also highly zealous in a bad way you
know to the point of murdering people
for the what he thought was truth you
know that his passion was more about
defending truth than it was about and
living living in a loving way his
passion was truth rather than people and
sometimes it's Christians with our
passions more truth than people you know
we want to defend the truth Charles
Spurgeon who's an old tiny preacher from
like 150 years ago he said defend the
true
I'd rather defend a liar in other words
a lion doesn't need defense Neil does
the truth you know that we can we don't
have to always be on the defensive you
know we God's got big shoulders you can
take it and I think you know we don't
have to defend if we're going into a
talking to people about the gospel in a
defensive sort of way we're going to hit
the gates brick walls but if we go into
that caring about chance more than we
care about truth truth we'll find your
way in through her and I think you know
Pau is a really good example of somebody
who transition from caring about truth
to caring about heart and we see that in
the book of Galatians in doation chapter
two you know the the the disciple the
apostles like Peter are behaving like
Pharisees and not when to associated sit
with the Gentiles I've just come to
church and Paul gets in his face and he
disagrees with him and he and he and
hasn't really going in why because Paul
understood the danger of religion why
because he was a great religious up
until he became you know he gave his
life to Jesus and and so and he'd been
on this journey and maybe he had been
stumbled from fully receiving the gospel
and his heart wasn't ready so maybe then
when he sees Peter possibly stumble in
another's faith like in Romans 14 don't
stumble somebody's at faith by what you
do maybe Paul's journey was he can't
more about truth than people but at the
end of his life he cared more that
people the truth that he was still
strong and he was still passionate and
it was still he knew what he believed
but maybe that was tempted by caring
about people's hearts you know because
people you know in other parts of
scripture and in another part of
Scripture and people complained that his
words his letters are really strong and
very dark Mets but when he comes to see
as he's really
so he's really you know it's really
mealiness like well I can come to you as
I promised and come to you as a father
up to you you know and I love that that
that even though in his communication
horizon he was very direct when he was
with people his his passion was it was
not in that moment and relating them not
as an apostle but really as a father but
as far as our mother's care about plants
you know sometimes brothers and sisters
care of all that truth you know in my
relationship my brother sometimes you
know I would I would I would see him not
behaving correctly and I would try to
bring some truth in you know where my
mom was being more concerned about his
heart and so we dad so I think you know
we can be brothers and sisters and
that's great but I think you know some
of us are called when as we mature we're
going to become fathers and mothers and
actually that means caring more about
people's hearts and truth because I
think that's part of Paul's journey that
he was a man who ultimately cared so
much for truth he was willing to kill
people but in the end he learned to
temper his communication when he was
with people physically because he really
didn't care about people ultimately so
yeah that's my course to thoughts first
one of my favorite quotes is honesty
without compassion is cruelty and I
think that's what that's what Paul
learned there and then second and I went
to flip over I thought I heard you say
first Corinthians 5:18
15/8 first corinthians 15:8 yes well
maybe I can find it anywhere
yeah won't reduce 59 all right cool then
I'm good okay then you're good okay
Wilson yeah and in Strong's
if you've got a
the word is act Roma which is EK TR o ma
it's trongs number 16 26
it means untimely miscarriage usage
strictly and lifeless abortion or
untimely in that sense so the word
really is abortion or miss pouch you
know so it wasn't a premature birth or a
late birth it was it was a birth back at
some point being thwarted because of his
own issues in his own house however
powerful does God speak to us and our
own issues stopped us from really
engaging what God was saying because
it's too hard the Apostle Paul was no
different
you know we tend to put these people in
the Bible of a pedestal like they were
perfect no there is a bigger jerk you
and I and they guru in their
relationship with God you know Peter was
a racist Noah was a drunk you know
ding dong yeah you know Jacob was a
cheetah
you know the David a man after God's own
heart was a murderer and an adulterer
why why I just gotta pick these people
they're jerks why doesn't God be the
good people because sometimes the people
who who live from the heart make
mistakes but at least they're living
from the heart and God consult more
easily and it read somebody who's living
from the heart in a bad way and redirect
it in a good way that tried to get
somebody who's living from their head to
the heart and I think sometimes it's
easier to to direct I can move inside it
if something's moving it's easier to
directives but to get something moving
sometimes a lot harder and I think you
know Paul was was a moving target he was
doing really bad things but at least it
was moving and in that movement God was
able to encounter him you know so God is
attracted to movement and if you're
moving in a wrong way
God's able to redirect you why because
you're already in that place
anything else yep one of the things that
really kind of encouraged me about how
you shared about Paul calling Peter
you're out from like you know his
stepping away from grace it's just so
cool like Peter was an apostle so
somebody who had authority in the church
you like you know if he if he spoke like
you know people would take it like as
the word of God like and even the
Apostles said things like they even like
made mistakes themselves so it's just it
kind of like shows shows me like you
know that like like like what you just
said it's not about being right like
like I think that you know God cares
about us being right and what we teach
and all that stuff is good but like
there's something deeper which is like
you know the the fact of I don't know
just I guess love after all like that's
what it has to be is is like that's
pretty much the thing and the constant
theme like love is even more important
than being right and doing something
sentronics a thousand percent like well
unfortunately the church has not had
that mentality we have we are valued
doctrinal truth over people you know
that's why I happened I stopped getting
into arguments about theology I won't do
it anymore if you don't believe what I
believe I don't care I love you and I'll
take my revelation where people will
receive it but I'm not going to hate me
and I'm tired of that wave you know that
small way of thinking this is if you
don't believe 100% what I believe then
you're not family-owned we can't walk
together I think I'll be honest you know
I think it's nonsense I think it divides
the church I think that's the reason we
have 38,000 denominations worldwide
because we value truth instead of
valuing people 38,000 denominations
that's mental why
because one denomination and people
within that denomination we got a
revelation and the people is the
leadership of that denomination would
reject the new revelation would see it
as challenging who they were and so they
would have to separate out and we just
keep being divided over new revelation
you know but you know as you said about
Alex not Peter he wasn't just a disciple
he was the disciple he was the guy that
Jesus says I give you the keys of the
kingdom disciples books specifically
it's obvious bingo this is where the
idea of apostolic succession comes from
in the Catholic Church it's not
completely a made of doctrine the risk
there is another of truth in there that
Pete's the dude when Peter speaks people
listen the only other person who had
that same level of authority was James
the brother of Jesus they were known in
the New Testament as the pillars of the
church and they carried that Saudi
authorities because they ministered in
very different areas you know but yeah
he was so when people that he spoke I
think at that point when Peter and
Paul's telling the story he's looking
back so he's not Apostle Paul when he's
telling story he's Paul and he's
happened to call Peter on his BS like I
know because I saw the law said and
you'll be a hypocrite right now you know
you tread you live like a Gentile all
your life and now you're trying to make
the Gentiles live like Jews your mentor
Wow
he has no position he has no authority
people are scared of Paul at this point
in his life because he's the murderer
coming to church and thinking this is a
trap oh he's only pretending to be a
Christian so he can kill us all you know
this is my people Paul wasn't received
initially because people really suspect
about him but he didn't care he cared
about the hearts of the people who were
being rejected at the dinner table that
Peter was choosing to reject he cared
about their hearts of people gonna care
about people
you know and that's that's who thought
was you know sometimes we think of Paul
as a theologian but we think he was an
apostle we think it was all these
different things we're really at his
heart he was a father who cared deeply
about people was he perfect no was he a
jerk sometimes
but he was a father you know and that's
what we're called to be ultimately we're
all called to grow so we could be mother
come become mothers and fathers
ourselves okay 40 minutes I love you
guys I am loving this we're back on
Monday and the videos are there to catch
up on TV if you've caught the rest of
them you know so there's the first two
videos to capture and share these videos
with anybody you feel that will all
bless you no comment under the video so
it's not making a conversation about it
you know because that also let other
people know there's something worth in
there looking at sometimes you know
people go listen to if there's comments
that helps you know people go on
something worth listening to so share
your testimony leave the videos are
really helpful just the start generating
community you know and start generating
in interest and getting people to relate
in the group's I'd be really really
awesome cuz I don't know do all the time
lazy okay guys I love you guys you've
got have a great weekend we've got
