The video promises a step-by-step guide to starting a print-on-demand candle business, including creating an Etsy shop and a dedicated website to build a professional brand.
🕯️ What is Print on Demand & Candle Branding Basics
Print on demand is explained as a business model where products, in this case, candles, are only created after a customer orders them, eliminating the need for upfront inventory. The branding process is crucial, focusing on candle labels that appeal to specific aesthetics, from minimalist to vintage, or even humorous styles. Creative names for candle scents are also emphasized as a marketing tool, with examples like 'Autumn Evenings' instead of plain 'Cinnamon Vanilla.' Canva is recommended as a free tool to design candle labels, and the importance of consistency in branding across products is stressed.

This paragraph provides instructions on setting up both an Etsy shop and a personal website for candle sales. Transcripts
it might be hard to believe but there
are people making
$462,000 per year doing a side hustle
that only takes them about 20 minutes
per day what and that side hustle is
selling print on demand candles this
person right here brings in over
$462,000 per year just from selling
print on demand candles another example
is this person here they've made well
over $1.4 million or around $223,000 per
month selling candles on both Etsy and
their own website and if you look at the
candles that they're selling you can see
that they all match the print on demand
candles from a site like printify
printify is a print on demand website
that offers candles and so we know for a
fact that they are indeed using print on
demand to sell their candle and in this
video I'm going to show you exactly how
to do this step by step with very little
money and a small amount of time and I'm
actually going to build my own print on
demand candle business in this video to
show you just how easy it is to get
started I'll show you how to build both
an Etsy shop but also your own dedicated
candle website with a unique and
Powerful online domain name this will
make your site stand out as both
legitimate and trustworthy even though
you're a brand new business so if you
haven't done so already drop a like down
below for the video it helps the channel
out so much you're amazing let's get
started now before we start talking
about how to sell candles I first want
to briefly talk about what print on
demand even is print on demand is a very
popular e-commerce method that allows
you to sell certain products only when
somebody buys them in the case of
selling candles instead of making a
whole batch of candles before anyone
orders them the print on demand company
only makes them when somebody places an
order this way you never have to waste
money or hold on to any inventory plus
you won't be tempted to burn your own
Supply this is basic rug dealer 101
never burn your own Supply this is a
really big match and that's basically
what print on demand is it allows you to
start an e-commerce business with no
upfront money and very little work so
how can you get started there's
basically three simple steps and the
first step is we need to come up with
The Branding of the candles if we go to
Etsy and then search for candles and
look through all of the candles that are
being sold you'll get a really good idea
for the type of branding that might do
well for your candles and when I say
branding I'm specifically talking about
the actual label on the candle what does
the label look like some people choose
to go for a more simple and minimalistic
look others go for a vintage look some
people even opt for a very um offensive
look but there's no shortage of label
design ideas you just have to go with
what resonates with you the most it's
also worth mentioning that a big part of
your candle branding is how you choose
to actually Market the scents themselves
for example you might create a candle
that has a cinnamon vanilla scent but
just because that candle's scent is
cinnamon vanilla doesn't mean you have
to put cinnamon vanilla on the candle
label you can get as creative as you
want and so perhaps the scent is called
Autumn evenings or cozy winter blanket
right if you went with a candle in the
scent of white sage plus lavender same
thing you don't have to put white sage
plus lavender on the candle label I mean
you certainly can if you want to and
I'll actually be using this scent as an
example later but what I found from my
extensive market research is that the
candles that have more clever or just
funny names tend to sell significantly
better you'll notice that most of the
really successful candle sellers will
have candle names that don't include the
actual scent of the candle instead it's
something that will make you feel good
or bring back a memory or something
that's funny or clever and so when
you're deciding on The Branding for your
candles and the names of the candles to
put on your labels just keep this in
mind and to design the labels we're
going to use a free website called
canva.com so from canva after you create
a free account simply search for the
term candle label and you can see that
there are over
4,500 different templates that you can
choose from for your candle labels and I
would actually recommend picking just
one label template and just using that
template for all of your candles taking
a look at this shop right here again you
can see that all of their labels for all
of their candles look the exact same
minus the actual name of the scent on
the label so from canva just scroll
through these label templates and and go
with the one that resonates with you the
most for me I really like this one right
here to go with this label I'll just
select it and then click on customize
this template from here I'll update the
name to match my candle brand name and
the easiest way to come up with a name
for your candle brand is to go to chat
GPT and ask the AI to give you a list of
candle brand names you can even specify
things like give me a list of candle
brand names based on my name Joshua and
you would replace your name with my name
unless of course your name is also
Joshua in which
case back on canva now and you would
basically just bookmark this template
because every time you create a new
candle scent you'll come in here change
the name of the scent and then export
this label to be used on your candle and
we'll talk about exactly how to create
the candles soon but I don't want to get
ahead of ourselves because now it's time
to set up both your Etsy shop and your
website and then connect them to
Printery and luckily doing all of this
is actually very simple to set up your
Etsy Shop simply head over to etsy.com
and then at the very bottom of the
website within the footer click on sell
on Etsy and then just follow the steps
the whole process should take you less
than 10 minutes or so but on top of your
Etsy Shop you should also have your own
dedicated website to sell candles all of
these successful candle shops on Etsy
share something in comment and no it's
not that they all sell candles but
noticed is that most of the successful
candle shops on Etsy also have their own
dedicated website sure they sell their
candles on Etsy but Etsy is just one
sales Channel they also have their own
website though that they direct people
to either from Tik Tok videos or PID ads
or even directly from their Etsy Shop
the advantage of having your own
dedicated website is that you don't have
to pay any of the fees that Etsy is
taking away from you every single time
you get a sale on your Etsy shop and
what ends up happening is the people who
buy candles from your Etsy shop on a
regular basis will end up just buying
the candles directly from your website
because not only will you have your
website linked throughout your Etsy shop
but whenever someone buys a candle from
you on Etsy the automated thank you
message that sent to the buyer can
include a brief message about your
website now I know what you're thinking
but Joshua I don't know how to build a
website but surprisingly it's actually
incredibly simple to do because we're
just going to use an easy platform
called Shopify and the reason we'll use
Shopify is because we'll be able to
easily connect it to printify printify
is the print on demand platform that
we'll use in the next step to create
your candles but also to automatically
complete orders on both your Etsy shop
and your website now I left a Shopify
link Down Below in the description of
this video using that link will give you
Shopify for 3 months just for $1 per
month but 3 months should give you more
than enough time to get your print on
demand business up and running and start
getting sales so after clicking on the
link down below you'll land on Shopify
from here just enter your email address
and then quickly go through these
prompts until you get to the Shopify
dashboard and the first thing we need to
do is set up a domain name for your
website because right now if someone
goes to your website they'll have to
type this into their browser and this
looks
horrible and so we need to get you a
domain name that will help your business
to stand out but also easy to remember
and personally I'm a huge fan of these
online domain extensions the domain
extension is the part of the domain name
after your business name and you can see
here for my candle business my domain
name is Wick and wax. online now the
reason that I prefer theonline extension
for my website is because online is the
world's second largest new domain
extension Plus it has the added
advantage of having the word online
literally in which perfectly describes
your website to be your Brand's online
identity and to be honest I think that
having aonline domain extension makes
way more sense compared to anything else
especially if you're running an online
business such as a print on demand
candle business nowadays it's extremely
difficult to find a com that's available
for your business I tried searching for
wian wax.com and obviously not to my
surprise it wasn't available but online
has a vast inventory of domain names
available and you are much more likely
to get a domain name that matches your
business name now in terms of where to
buy a DOT online domain name you can buy
it basically anywhere you want GoDaddy
name cheap or just buy it directly
within Shopify but for a limited time
I've managed to get you a very unique
offer where you can buy a DOT online
name for just 99 Cents for the first
year to take advantage of this offer
just click on the link in the
description and use code Joshua and once
you Pur purchase your domain name we
need to quickly connect that domain name
to your Shopify store and this is
actually very easy to do first make sure
you're logged into your online domains
dashboard from here click on manage
orders and then list SL search orders
and then select your new domain name
next you'll scroll down until you see an
option that says DNS management and
you'll click on manage DNS then you
should see this button here that says
add a record click that button and then
add this number into the field that says
destination
ipv4 address and just make sure that you
enter this number exactly how you see it
I'll also put this number down in the
description of this video if you would
like to copy and paste it but once that
number is in this field here that's it
click on ADD record next we'll need to
add the cname record to do this click on
the button that says cname records up
here at the top then select add cname
record in this first field right here
you're simply going to type in www and
then in the third field type type in
this URL again I'll leave this down in
the description of this video so make
sure that you copy and paste it exactly
how you see it and just make sure that
your Fields match the fields that you
see on my screen exactly as is otherwise
this won't work and then click on ADD
record next we'll head into your Shopify
dashboard click on settings down here at
the bottom then select domains and then
select connect existing domains and
you're just going to type in the name of
theonline domain name that you just
purchased for me I'll type in Wick and
wax. online then select next and then
click on verify connection and if you
added all of the correct records then
you should see this screen right here
more than likely your domain won't be
connected instantly sometimes the
connection happens within minutes
sometimes it'll take a couple of hours
but if your domain name isn't connected
to your Shopify store instantly don't
worry just give it some time but anyways
once you've purchased your domain name
and connected it to your Shopify store
it's now time to really quickly connect
PR ify to both Etsy and your Shopify
store to do this first head over to
priny and I left a link Down Below in
the description and if you click that
link it'll bring you to this page right
here once Here sign up for a free
account and then over here click on the
drop down and select at a new store and
you can see that Etsy and Shopify are
the top two options so we'll first
connect the Etsy shop by selecting
connect to Etsy and if you already
created your Etsy shop in the earlier
step of this video then the connection
between between Etsy and printify should
happen automatically next we need to
make the connection between printify and
Shopify to do this select connect to
Shopify and again if you already set up
your Shopify account in the previous
step then this screen should pop up
right here and you'll just enter your
store URL to find your store URL go to
the settings in your Shopify dashboard
and you'll see it in the upper leftand
corner here but once that's there click
right here on connect and the final step
of the integration is to click on
install app and that's it now printify
is officially integrated into your
website it's that simple and anytime you
create new candles within printify those
candles will automatically be published
to both your website and your Etsy shop
in terms of the design of your website
you can feel free to spend some time
going through all of the different
Shopify customization options to stylize
your website however you want personally
I went ahead and updated the banner up
here on my website to show these candles
and honestly that's really all I did but
if we scroll down you'll see that
there's nothing else on the website and
that's because we don't actually have
any candles on the website yet that'll
happen in the next step but you can see
here even this person's website this is
the candle shop that's making over
$23,000 per month they're also using
Shopify and there isn't much that they
changed about their store again the only
thing they did was change the menu
options up here they added their own
Banner image and that's really about it
you don't have to over overthink the
process as long as customers can easily
navigate your website and then buy the
candles that's all that really matters
speaking of candles though let's talk
about how you'll actually create the
candles and start selling them the
website that we'll be using to create
candles is obviously printify and from
printify assuming that you've already
created your account earlier you should
see this page right here and what you'll
do is Click over here on catalog select
catalog home and then search for the
word can this will give you all of the
candle sizes and styles that are offered
within prile now at this point it's
worth mentioning that all of these
different candle Styles will also come
with different candle scents for example
this style here currently offers these
candle scents another candle style
though such as this one offers different
scents and so I wanted to make this
distinction because you should go with a
candle style that offers the types of
scents that you want to sell on your
shop there's also nothing wrong with SEL
in multiple Styles so that you can offer
a larger variety of scents for now
though I'm going to go with this style
here the soy based candle with an Amber
jar then from this page click down here
on start design and the first thing that
you'll want to do is head over here and
click on select variants and then click
on the tab that says scent and you're
just going to select one scent for this
particular candle so I'll deselect
everything else except for white sage
plus lavender now earlier on canva we
created the label that we wanted to use
for the candle so I'll head back into
canva and change the name of this candle
to White Sage plus lavender because then
we'll export this head back into
printify again and then upload this
label into this area here and you would
do the same exact thing for every candle
scent next you would go through the
process of selecting the images and for
this you could just go with the default
mockups that printify offers but I would
actually highly recommend that you go
and buy a couple of candle mockup
templates on Etsy these mockups look a
million times better than the ones that
printify provides and they literally
only cost like
a160 but after selecting the images that
you'll use for your candle or going with
one of the mockups from Etsy the next
thing you'll do is add all of the
details like the title and the
description for this I would just look
at what other people are doing on Etsy
who are selling candles and I would
model your titles and descriptions off
of theirs what they're doing is already
working there's no reason to try and
reinvent the wheel and the next step is
the pricing and for this I would just do
the same exact thing simply look at what
other shops on Etsy are selling their
candles at and model your pricing based
off of their pricing you might even
consider making your candles a little
bit cheaper so that you can have a
competitive Advantage especially when
you're first getting started but after
all that looks good you would simply
publish this candle onto both your
website and your Etsy shop and Printery
will do this for you automatically and
the process that we just went through
would be repeated for every candle scent
that you wanted to add so I'm going to
spend maybe the next 30 minutes or so
creating some more candles I went ahead
and purchase a couple of uh candle
mockups on Etsy and I'll use these
mockups for the product images on both
my Etsy shop and my website and so I'll
see you back here again in maybe about
30 minutes 42 minutes 12 seconds 1
bathroom break later okay so it's been a
little bit over half an hour about 40
minutes and I was able to take both my
Etsy shop and my website from looking
like this just empty blank pages to
looking like this a legitimate candle
shop that's ready to start receiving
orders and making money and we created
this in less than 15 minutes in this
video and it took me maybe about an hour
total outside of the video to set
everything up but I just gave you the
exact step-by-step process that you need
to replicate the success of people like
this or even this all of these people
started from absolutely nothing put in
the work to set up their candle shops
and the rest was history and you've got
the exact blueprint to get started the
only thing left to do is start if you
haven't already dropped a like down
below for the video or subscribe to the
Channel please do both those things it
would mean the absolute world to me
you're amazing I Believe In You And as
always I will see you again very soon
take care care
