Transcripts
ergonomic footrests are accessories that
can make sitting at your desk for eight
plus hours a day much more comfortable
over the last six months I've personally
tested 10 different models and this is
what I've learned from using each the
a-spark living foot rest currently
retails for around 65 on Amazon now this
foot rest takes a typical foot rest and
adds a unique twist with an upper bar
that provides added support in different
seated and standing positions this is
the best option if you're looking for a
place to rest your foot while using a
standing desk now the anti-slip feet on
the bottom of the footrest help to keep
it securely in place on the floor there
are three different height settings for
the larger platform when used in seated
positions the footrest also provides a
nice pivoting feature allowing you to
move around a bit more while seated the
scale beard foot rest retails for around
70 on Amazon and honestly it comes with
probably the worst name of any foot rest
it offers three different foot rest
modes but I personally found only one
mode to be suitable for office work
second mode reverses the orientation of
the footrest and provides some
additional leg support however I found
the space to rest your feet in this mode
to be a bit too small for larger feet or
if you're wearing shoes the third mode
turns this into a small ottoman to kick
your feet up and relax considering the
price this one didn't really feel like
great quality I also found that it tends
to slide a lot on both hard surfaces and
carpeted floors the Lee Mart foot rest
currently retails for 66 dollars on
Amazon now this product was a bit
confusing for me as the listing calls it
leamart but it's actually labeled as
scale beard on the footrest and in the
lower description on the page the
leemark comes with two different modes
pedal mode and foot rest mode there are
also four different height options to
choose from within each mode I found
that the pedal mode is actually my
preferred way of using this foot rest
unlike the previous scale beard model
this footrest does include rubber feet
to help it keep its place on the floor
the foam padding on the limart is
removable which is a nice option if you
do want to use this foot rest with your
shoes on the mind reader foot rest is
currently priced at 27 on Amazon this
foot rest is essentially identical to
the juano brand but costs about ten
dollars less I know this because I
actually purchased both to verify the
mind reader footrest offers three
different height options to choose from
and up to 30 degrees tilt negative or
positive depending on how you pivot the
foot platform unfortunately this pivot
function doesn't lock in place but for
most people I don't believe this would
be an issue the large platform itself
includes significant bumps for added
massage and while this could feel good
for your feet I personally found it to
be a bit gimmicky now I appreciate that
the platform is made from hard plastic
for use with both shoes and Barefoot but
I didn't find it to be actually as
comfortable when used Barefoot compared
to the other padded alternatives on the
list the Everlasting Comfort foot rest
is priced at just under thirty dollars
on Amazon making it one of the most
affordable options that I've tested now
if this tells you any thing it has
become my go-to choice for my home
office setup the Everlasting Comfort
foot rest is best used with bare feet or
socks even though the cover is removable
for washing using Street shoes on the
soft cover would likely wear it out much
sooner if you were only to wear your
socks now I personally love the softness
of the cover and the molded foam pad
inside while neither of these are top
tier quality they're adequate for the
price I personally found that this
footrest does a good job of keeping my
feet warmer in my cold basement
especially compared to some of the
previous metal foot rests that I've used
one additional way that I like to use
the Everlasting Comfort is by flipping
it upside down its teardrop shape allows
me to rock it back and forth or keep it
locked in place firmly on the floor
focusing my need to move around on the
foot rest only not the Tass on top of my
desk the Ergo foam footrest is currently
priced at 39 on Amazon its design is
slightly different from the Everlasting
comfort with a more symmetrical shape
for the top pad and an additional
removable pad on the bottom with the
base attached to the Ergo foam footrest
it reaches a maximum height of 6 inches
at the peak with the base removed the
maximum height drops to 4 inches I've
personally found that the shape of the
pad is perfect for rocking back and
forth when flipped upside down you can
also use it with the base attached if
you want a slightly taller rocker Ergo
foam also comes with a removable cover
that's similar to Everlasting Comforts
the foam pad used inside feels like a
similar quality to that as Everlasting
comfort as well the cushion lab footrest
is currently priced at 54 on Amazon this
is notably more expensive than the
ergofoam or Everlasting Comfort options
but it's also significantly different
upon closer examination the most
noticeable difference is in the shape of
the footrest itself instead of opting
for the standard teardrop or half
cylinder shape cushion lab has added
more contour and what they call wave
massage ribbing for enhanced Comfort now
personally the wave massage feature
didn't really add too much for me but it
might be appreciated more by some users
the qual quality of the foam used in the
cushion lab though is much more Superior
than the cheaper alternatives they've
also Incorporated a charcoal foam which
is known to do a better job of repelling
odors that will tend to develop over
time of foot rests the same can be said
for the fabric cover as the material
just feels higher quality than the less
expensive options in this list the Pogo
footrest is currently priced at 99 on
btod.com making it the second most
expensive foot rest in the list however
it feels substantially more substantial
than the less expensive options in the
list prior to using the Everlasting
Comfort at home the Pogo was my
Preferred Choice the Pogo uses extruded
aluminum for its construction of the
footrest designed to work with the Pogo
active chair it's over built and
engineered to remain in place on the
floor even when subjected to significant
pressure due to its teardrop design you
can flip the footrest over and use it
with a rocking motion now while this
rocking motion is Pleasant the ridges in
the aluminum prevent it from offering a
completely smooth rocking experience but
unfortunately for me it isn't quite as
comfortable to use at home without my
shoes on the human scale FM 300 is
currently priced at 125 on etod.com
making it the most expensive foot rest
in this list the FM 300 features three
inches of height adjustment which can
easily be achieved by turning the knobs
on either end of the footrest to expand
or contract its desired height the FM
300 can be a fantastic option if you
enjoy moving your feet around frequently
and desire that smooth gliding motion it
without question offers the most
comfortable motion amongst all the
footrests that I've tested the non-slip
pads on the bottom of the footrest frame
effectively prevent the footrest from
sliding around as you move throughout
the day the 3M adjustable foot rest is
the final foot rest on this list and is
currently priced at 59 on Amazon now
I've extensively used this foot rest in
my office setup which is evident with
how worn out it appears in the video the
3M footrest is wide in accommodating
making it suitable for use with shoes or
individuals with larger feet the
non-scape pad on the top surface
features raised bumps for massage but
they don't interfere like those on the
mind reader or hawano footrests despite
having this non-slip pad this foot rest
is really designed to be used with shoes
as it feels somewhat hard and cold
without them the pivot function on the
large platform is beneficial if you like
to shift around while working at your
desk as well now 3M does promote one
inch of height adjustment for this foot
rest but making the adjustment is a bit
more cumbersome than it's worth most
users will likely set it to their
preferred height and leave it there
