so he made a plan

He spent eight months writing a program to automate his work without informing his boss.
After this, he used to do all the work on the custom program he wrote in autopilot mode,
which he was given to do by the company.
So now, before starting a new plan,
I ask myself the first commander's intent question
What is the purpose behind it?
And I make a list of my action plans from there.
In this way, the 10/10/10 Rule
helps us identify the worst-case scenario of the problem
we are stressed about.
By asking these three questions,
we usually realize
that the failures we are worried about now will not bother us forever.
One key to successful time management is to
have a clear purpose and a focused mindset,
for productivity is not just about doing more,
rather, it is about doing what is really important.
And to understand what is really important for us,
today we are going to discuss the book Feel Good Productivity,
written by the world's most-followed productivity expert, Ali Abdal.
He has 5.2 million subscribers on YouTube
and 7.5 lacs people follow him on Instagram.
In this, you will learn how to achieve the best results in the things that matter to you.
For this, the author suggests three methods,
Energize, Unblock & Sustain
1. Energize,
that is, keep yourself energetic.
2. Unblock,
keep achieving your small goals by overcoming the fears and challenges that come your way.
3. And SUSTAIN,
sustain the success you have completed and keep growing further.
So let us understand all three methods in detail one by one.
Part 1: Energize
To stay energized we have to do three things.
1.Enjoy the process, not the outcome.
To complete every task, enjoy its process,
not its outcome.
In August 2021,
Spanish rock climber
Alberto Ginés
won the gold mountain climbing medal at the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Even before this, Alberto had won many championships, one after the other.
The reason for this was that he enjoyed his climbing process.
When people saw Alberto rapidly climbing the walls,
they noticed it seemed normal.
It wasn't that Alberto was any better than his competitors;
the only difference between him and the others was that,
as he reached the top,
he happily climbed up instead of being stressed by the height.
Take the story of Matthew Dicks,
who is today a world-bestselling novelist and storyteller.
Dix worked at McDonald's for several years before his first book was published.
Initially, he was reluctant to do this work.
Once, while talking to Ali Abdal, he said he used to find his whole day boring.
Follow that routine again and again.
Take orders from morning till evening and then go home.
There was no excitement or challenge in life.
And so Dix decided to see if
is there any happy part in our work
which does not give them the result of the job i.e. salary
rather give a chance to enjoy the work.
That means not the results but the processes should be made fun.
And finally, he made a strategy for himself for upselling.
From now on, he asked every customer to take something extra on his order,
like chips or a cold drink.
He was not doing this work to increase the amount of orders
but because he was enjoying this work.
Whenever he served an order,
he asked the customer if he wanted something else.
If he took it, it was a good thing;
if he didn't, he would smile, say, and go away.
Dix said that the effects of these small changes in his routine were quite significant.
Small tasks like this also improve their customers' day
and keep them energetic.
Because of this, Dix found himself looking forward to his shifts,
no longer bored with his job
but excited to do it because of upselling to more people.
Although this method was not more fun,
but Dix found it a way of enjoying his work.
And in doing so, he began to enjoy working even in a motivationless place
and completed his work.
2.Focus on owning the process.
For whatever work you want to accomplish,
you must have power.
One of the best examples of this
the programmer seems to be FiletOfFish1066.
His story is fascinating;
you should also google and read it in detail.
Let me give its overview here.
His name came into the headlines in June 2016
because he had worked as a software developer in his company for the last six years,
where most of his work was testing the software in the quality department.
This seemed a very dull task to him,
so he made a plan
He spent eight months writing a program to automate his work without informing his boss.
He spent eight months writing a program to automate his work without informing his boss.
After this, he used to do all the work on the custom program he wrote in autopilot mode,
which he was given to do by the company.
His boss also never made any inquiries
because everything was going well.
But after six years, when the company's quality team was audited,
it was found that they had not done any active work since about six years ago.
According to his job timing, he used to work forty hours every week,
mark his attendance and keep doing whatever he felt like.
In an interview, he said I have worked only fifty hours in the last six years.
Although his plan was good,
but, due to automating his job without informing his boss,
unfortunately he has been terminated since.
I am not saying that Filet Of Fish1066 was a wrong strategy person,
nor that he was a lovely person.
But FiletOfFish1066's actions show his mindset of owning his process very well.
Even in situations in which our freedom and rights are less.
It is essential to take ownership of the process
because when we cannot take ownership of the problem,
we cannot gain power by taking ownership of any process.
Just imagine if FiletOfFish1066 thought he had no control over what he did
because he had to do what his boss said.
So, could he do this? Obviously no.
He could do this because he decided to take ownership of his work.
He had no control over many things,
such as the software he was testing,
the priorities of his management,
what to do first and what to delay,
and the quantity of work given to him.
But there were a lot of tasks that were entirely in his hands,
so he just focused on
how to complete the tasks assigned to me on time
and how to automate them using the tools I had.
In this way, he realised that his work could be automated,
and in eight months, he made a complete system
and started earning money by doing automated work.
There is a lesson here for all of us.
Even if someone else is deciding the outcome,
there is always a way to take ownership of the process of any work.
If you work in customer service,
you may not have control over company policies,
but you can take ownership of how you interact with customers.
You can listen to their problems,
be sympathetic towards them,
and find creative solutions to those problems.
If you are a teacher,
you may not have control over the syllabus,
but you can take ownership of how you teach the syllabus.
You can find new ways to explain it to your students
and have fun activities that demonstrate the concept well.
And if you work in a factory or on an assembly line,
you may not have more control over production targets.
But you can take ownership of the contribution you make in this process.
You can find ways to organize your tasks,
and spot problems before they occur,
and make suggestions for improving the process.
A different power can be achieved by doing this in your own way.
3. Ask for help where you need it.
Many people are not able to get help from others.
So the question is, how do we take help from others
so that they get attracted towards us to help us
and do not run away?
So you can do this in these three ways.
First of all,
you must overcome your unwillingness to ask whether he will help,
so let it be.
This feeling has to be controlled.
The easiest way to do this is to adopt the saying that
People are more excited to help than you think.
You must have heard this repeatedly and experienced it in your life
with others, teaching them something, and giving advice
makes us feel very energetic,
but still, many of us underestimate that other people are not that interested in helping us.
Psychologist Vanessa Bohns found in her studies
Psychologist Vanessa Bohns found in her studies
that more than 50 per cent of people are willing to help;
just you need to ask.
Second, prepare the request correctly.
Especially try to ask for help in person as much as possible.
In 2017, researchers conducted a study on a group of two people.
The first group sought help from people through mail,
and the second group sought help in person.
They found that by asking for help in person rather than through the mail,
the probability of the other person helping was 34 per cent higher.
That means out of 100, 34 more people helped.
Last, make sure you are using the correct language.
I feel bad asking you this
like using negative sentences
If you help me, I'll do this for you.
avoid turning it into a transaction by saying things like.
Instead, emphasize the positive reasons
you are reaching out to that specific person for help,
such as, 'I saw your work on X, Y, and Z influenced me,
so I'd love to know how you did that.
By emphasizing the positive aspects of the person you admire,
they will feel that you genuinely care about their opinion
and will be more likely to help you.
In this way, the more promising words are used to ask for help,
the more the person you are asking for help will feel as good
as you will feel on receiving help.
Part 2: Unblock
To unblock the blocks in completing any of your work,
Ali Abdal asks you to do two things
1.Use Commander's Intent in your life for clarity.
If you also think that, how can you adopt the Commander Intent technique in your life?
So the answer lies in an incident that took place on 6 June 1944 in northern France,
which is known as D-Day.
What part of France was occupied by our enemies,
France's friendly countries planned to attack it together and liberate France.
In the first phase of planning,
133,000 troops were to land at exact locations on the beaches of Normandy.
These landing troops were to be supported by the second battalion of parachute regiments,
and some of those troops were to land in some towns and villages around that area,
liberate those areas from the Nazis
and some of the bridges there. And the roads had to be secured.
But a lot went wrong from the beginning.
Within minutes of the first phase of Army paratroopers' landing,
most realized they had landed in the wrong place.
This thing would worsen in the next few hours
because the other army would land in their surrounding areas as soon as they saw them.
All the battalions were from different countries,
so these people did not even know each other.
In such a situation, it was difficult to trust
which soldier was from the friendly country
and which was from the enemy army.
This had become such a problem that if the enemy army had become aware of it,
many French soldiers could have been killed.
But then a miracle happened,
and within a few hours, the entire army was back on track.
Although the Allies did not capture the villages
they were ordered to,
they did attack and capture villages
that served their strategic purpose
and through which
the troops landing on the beaches of Normandy
could plan and move forward accordingly.
This entire victory was won with commander intent.
Big orders from military generals did not work.
The specific plans they made went awry.
But because they had told everyone about their commander's intentions,
everyone involved in the operation knew the purpose.
So even when things went wrong,
working out the "how" in other alternative ways was possible.
Today, I apply this method in my life every day.
Earlier, when I started a project,
my habit was to move forward immediately,
planning each step without thinking about my desired result.
However, motivational planning at this level
can prove to be an obstacle.
I used to get so engrossed in completing the specific tasks in the plan
that I didn't even know the end result.
So now, before starting a new plan,
I ask myself the first commander's intent question
What is the purpose behind it?
And I make a list of my action plans from there.
I have found that asking this simple question
has a substantial positive impact.
For years, I was failing to achieve my goal of six-pack abs.
For years, I was failing to achieve my goal of six-pack abs.
Every January, I used to get excited about going to the gym.
Then, within a few weeks, the motivation would subside,
and I would return to square one.
When I applied the commander's intention concept,
I realized it was
because I was getting the purpose
because I was getting the purpose
because I was getting the purpose
why' I want a six-pack
didn't fully understand this.
I didn't wish to have six-pack abs in reality.
My real goal was to maintain a healthy and balanced body and lifestyle.
Yes, there was some fitness and handsome-related motivation,
but once the purpose of staying healthy, fit and robust became clear,
these things became unimportant to me.
You can apply this concept to anything in your life.
For example, if you want to learn French,
ask yourself what the purpose of learning it is.
Are you discovering it to understand complex nineteenth-century novels written in French?
Are you discovering it to understand complex nineteenth-century novels written in French?
Are you discovering it to understand complex nineteenth-century novels written in French?
Or are you doing this for your upcoming trip to Paris?
After the purpose is clear, work on it.
How will you learn the language
will you use any app to
take language classes
or plan to retain it by watching many French movies from the 1950s?
Similarly, let's say you want to start a side business.
So, decide what your ultimate goal is.
Are you trying to earn a few extra monthly bucks to go on vacation?
Or are you aiming to become a millionaire
so that you can retire financially early?
Or are you creating something that will help people
Or are you creating something that will help people
and change their lives?
Now, think about your next step to achieve your goal.
Do you really need to leave your job altogether,
or can you devote a few hours in the evening to this business
and continue your job simultaneously?
Is it best to rush into starting a business,
or do you need to develop your skills first?
2. Adopt the 10/10/10 Rule to overcome fear.
One reason why fear makes people weak is
that we start getting used to going towards destruction.
Due to this, even some tiny failures start appearing big in our minds.
We start feeling that every failure can ruin our entire life,
and we can become useless forever.
As; You are rejected by someone you like.
As; You are rejected by someone you like.
Ultimately, you decide you don't deserve love
and will spend your life single.
You are not hired for any job.
Due to this, you decide that you are not worthy of getting a job in any company,
and this will make you unemployed and homeless.
You failed your first driving test.
As a result, you decide that you are a terrible driver and will never drive again.
When you are negative like this,
take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
With the right toolkit, we can realize
that things are not as bad as they seem,
so the fear subsides.
The scientific name of this process is Cognitive reappraisal,
meaning changing the explanation of a condition
so that we feel better emotionally.
The main goal of Cognitive reappraisal
is to change our perspective on an incident, idea or emotion
to experience a more positive emotional response.
An easy way to practice 'cognitive reappraisal' is to remind yourself
that what you feel so bad about probably won't matter as much in the future.
You can ask yourself these three questions,
the 10/10/10 Rule.
Let's see how this method would work in the previous examples.
Example 1: You are rejected by someone you like.
When this happens, ask yourself, will things be fixed in 10 minutes?
You would answer that I would still feel sad
and wouldn't want to show my face to that person.
Then, ask another question
will things be resolved in 10 weeks?
Maybe your answer will be, I may be less upset than I am today.
Then, ask the third question
Will this matter in 10 years?
Your answer is probably not at all
I will meet many people who can completely change my life between now and then.
Example 2: You are not hired for any job.
When this happens, ask yourself, will things be fixed in 10 minutes?
Your answer may be that I will feel unfortunate for the rest of the day.
Then, ask another question
will things be resolved in 10 weeks?
Your answer would be yes
because I will have applied for many other jobs by then.
If things still don't feel good, ask a third question
Will this matter in 10 years?
Your answer would be, not at all.
Because most people have faced failure before becoming successful,
and by working continuously, they can achieve great success.
And I will do the same.
And seeing this failure as a minor hiccup, I will learn from it.
Example 3: You failed your first driving test.
When this happens, ask yourself,
will things be fixed in 10 minutes?
Maybe your answer will be,
I will be a little embarrassed to tell this news to my instructor.
Then, ask another question
will things be resolved in 10 weeks?
Your answer is yes,
because by then, I will learn better by taking the training one more time, and hopefully,
I will pass it.
If things still don't work out, ask a third question
Will this matter in 10 years?
Your answer would be, not definately.
I'll forget almost all about it
if I remember it at all, I'll remember it as a funny story from life.
In this way, the 10/10/10 Rule
helps us identify the worst-case scenario of the problem
we are stressed about.
By asking these three questions,
we usually realize
that the failures we are worried about now will not bother us forever.
And that the fear we have in our mind will not always
rather it will end with time.
Therefore, we have to give our best in the present happily.
Now let’s move towards the third lesson of this book.
Part 3: Sustain
That is, adopt these methods to grow further while maintaining the success you have achieved.
1.Conserve energy
For this, resist distractions as much as possible
and focus on one task at a time.
The author is in 2012
learned from a study by computer scientists Rachel Adler and Raquel Benbunanfich.
learned from a study by computer scientists Rachel Adler and Raquel Benbunanfich.
learned from a study by computer scientists Rachel Adler and Raquel Benbunanfich.
He conducted an experiment in which people
had to complete tasks in six tabs open on a computer.
Read a paragraph in one tab, read a poem in another, write and send a mail in the third,
And six similar activities were included.
After deciding the activities, they divided the people into two groups.
The first multitasking group
Those who do every work at the same time
or at least two or three tasks had to be done at the same time.
The second group was the No-Multitasking group;
the participants in this group had to do every task one by one in a series.
Like completing work number 1 first,
then number 2, so 3,4,5,6.
In the multitasking group, separate tabs were opened for each of the six tasks,
and participants were told
that they could switch from one task to another without completing it.
The result of this study was surprising.
Those people were highly distracted
constantly changing from one task to another,
and they performed poorly.
But productivity was also seen in the work of Group 1,
and almost every task was completed on time.
Therefore, keep most of your time focused on just one task.
2.Keep recharging your energy.
The first way is to Calm Hobbies.
Former American president
George W. Bush
and King Charles III of England
had more similarities than you might imagine.
had more similarities than you might imagine.
Of course, they were all wealthy
and known worldwide for their power,
but their painting hobby was one thing they had in common.
Bush painted military-related things,
and King Charles used to paint Scottish landscapes.
Painting is the best quiet activity.
When a person starts painting,
no matter how new he is,
by continuing his hobby,
he becomes good at it with time.
Such people usually have complete freedom over what they are painting and how to do it.
It is different from their day-to-day work;
hence, this hobby keeps the feeling of freedom alive,
which makes them feel comfortable and good.
But painting is significantly different
because you enjoy it entirely on your terms,
with no end point or financial gain.
Therefore, it is an excellent activity to make a hobby.
Because the definition of a hobby is
that a hobby is not done to win or lose and turn it into a business
but just for fun;
due to this, our energy is recharged.
Therefore, you should also make a hobby of yours.
Decide a specific time for that creative activity,
and separate it from your work and daily responsibilities.
Try choosing a particular room or space for your hobby,
turn off work-related information during your creativity time,
and focus solely on it when you engage in your chosen activity.
Next, constantly remind yourself
to enjoy the process of doing it rather than expecting any benefits.
When you paint, play, or create something,
remind yourself that this is a field in which quality doesn't matter.
So give yourself permission to make mistakes, experiment and grow at your own pace
So give yourself permission to make mistakes, experiment and grow at your own pace
because your first goal is not to become a specialist or a master
but to recharge yourself by enjoying that process.
Another way to creatively recharge your energy is
to create calm projects.
When creating a project, remember
that a project has a fixed beginning and end.
Projects also benefit our sense of capacity and autonomy
because they give us feelings of accomplishment when we reach our end goal.
A CALM Project can be anything creative that has a clear endpoint.
