no right in this short tutorial I'm
going to show you how to use Link or
link you like some people call it to
learn all the basic vocabulary and
grammar of a language fast
so this is the way I do it these are the
Link mini Stories the 60 of them and
it's just
very simple text
um it's a short story
first and first person later in third
person or the other way around depending
on the story and then a bunch of
questions and you get the text the audio
and you get translations here so you get
this is European Portuguese which is
basically exactly the same as uh
resilient Portuguese it's just there are
some minor differences in pronunciation
but
um
are basically the same and
so this is Portuguese
this is English here
this is a meaning so you can click on
the words and you get them or entire
sentences
if you want to you can choose entire
sentences
and you get the audio and you get the
translation here so this is how I
recommend you do it you've got 60 Minute
stories
and the tendency
for most people is to focus on one
minute story try to learn it really well
let's learn all the vocabulary here all
the grammar really well when we've when
once we have memorized it then just
let's move on to the second one no let's
not do that
what I recommend you to do is do all
mini stories at once so you start from
the first one
you we do several rounds of
different exercises but from 1 to 60
without going back without reviewing
without doing anything like that and
then the reviewing will happen later in
the second and third rounds of planning
all right so first round will be simply
to read it
we read the text
we make sense of it we figure it out we
every word we don't know we check the
meaning
and this is where we start using the
visualization exercise I always talk
about otherwise we don't know
we visualize and Associate them with the
meaning like I explained in my thread
to memorize them you might not remember
them the first time but if you keep
seeing that word
you will remember the the mental image
you created of the world
so we do that with everything we read
all the texts
we read text number one
then we go here we download the audio
oh we read text number two the whole
thing we visualize the vocab there we
download the audio and we do that with
each and every text
and with all the audio files that we
downloaded we create a playlist and we
start listening to it
repeats over and over again every day
while you go for a run like I do in the
morning
in the gym while cooking while driving
commuting whatever
an hour twice a day for as long as you
can listen to them over and over and
over again and that's going to help you
with pronunciation when you speak with
comprehension and also to review
everything that you're reading you don't
have to go back to review the text
because you keep listening to them doing
this right so first round we'll read
everything
now
second round
we read it again again from 1 to 60 we
read all the mini stories but this time
we read them aloud
yeah
if you've been listening to them
you will
by then after bringing all 60 Minutes
stories and listening to them several
times you will more or less have an idea
of how Portuguese pronunciation works
and this works for any language by the
way not just about
but after listening to the same stories
over and over again you'll have an idea
of how pronunciation works and if you
don't you can always select the sentence
um
and you repeat and
you do it with a second sentence
and you keep doing it with each and
every sentence this takes time but it's
really good practice ideally you you'll
be able to just read aloud without
Omegle restaurant without uh having to
place because then you'll go much faster
if you just read it but read it aloud
that will develop muscle memory you get
used to saying things aloud and then
your fluency will improve and you'll do
better in conversation
that's for the second
round
yeah for 1 to 60 we'll read all of them
all out and meanwhile you'll still be
able uh you'll still be listening to
them over and over and over again you'll
get both of uh doing that but you'll
memorize all the vocabulary and all the
grammar pretty well by doing this
and then
the third round which is going to be uh
that's the most work but it's also the
most
um useful to get rid of most of your
mistakes or all of your mistakes if you
do it enough and to learn vocabulary and
grammar and spelling as well really well
and that is translated so again starting
from
lesson one we'll grab this and either
with pen and paper or with a Word
document will
translate all of this into English
yeah
wakes up
I get some actually uh six o'clock every
morning
I
prepares uh
breakfast
um drinks coffee and you type everything
in English
from 1 to 60 all of the lessons you
translate them into English once you've
done that without looking at this
you translate all the lessons again back
into Portuguese yeah so I suggest
creating a text with two columns and you
you have English in one and then
the back translation in Portuguese and
the second one and
you translate everything back from
English into Portuguese then you put put
it next to this
and you correct them
one by one this last exercise so
translating it all into English you can
just do it in one go from 1 to 60 all of
them
nothing one goes on in one day because
it's a lot of work but uh just you go
Lesson by lesson but translating it's
back
into Portuguese you should translate the
first lesson correct the first Lesson by
comparing it and fixing audio mistakes
and you will have made a lot of mistakes
it's normal but that's how you learn you
learn a lot by doing this by translating
back and comparing and corrected
you do it with the first so you
translate back and correct the first
lesson then you translate back and
correct the second lesson and so on
all the way from the first lesson to the
60th lesson and
meanwhile you should still be listening
to all the audio files you can do this
all these three rounds so all these
exercises
you can do them in a few days in a week
or in three months it depends on how
discipline you are how much you want to
work on it but I guarantee that if you
do all of this
by the end of the whole process you'll
run the sample two as well
so that's all for today thanks for
watching see you next time
