Transcripts
Hey everyone, Anastasia here, and welcome to today's free tutorial on affiliate marketing!
Let's dive right in. Affiliate marketing is a cool way to make money by just recommending
products or making sales on someone else's offer. It's like having a business without
the hustle of actually owning one. You can start affiliate marketing
from anywhere in the world with zero dollars. In this video, I'll cover different ways to do
affiliate marketing. And hey, this tutorial is totally free – all I ask is that you hit
the like button and subscribe to my channel so I can keep creating free tutorials like this.
Affiliate marketing involves selling someone else's product, just as a more common example, you
could do it through Amazon's Affiliate Program. But there are many other affiliate networks
with even better commissions, so stay with me because I'll cover them later in the video.
For instance, if you see an outfit on Instagram or TikTok and buy it using someone's link,
they earn a commission, but they don't worry about shipping or running a business.
Some affiliate programs pay you for leads, free trials, or just clicks on a website.
Commission rates vary – some offer 5%, others 50%. But remember, affiliate marketing isn't
a get-rich-quick scheme; it requires patience. Some people start a blog to promote affiliate
products, letting Google drive traffic. Others use social media. Pinterest,
TikTok and Instagram are great for this, and remember that most social media sites also have
integrated search engine features. When someone buys a product from your Pinterest or Instagram
post, you also can earn a commission. 3 Types of Affiliate Marketing Products
Let's dive into three types of affiliate marketing product.
And for each type I'll mention the best places where you can find those products,
meaning the affiliate networks. And I'll tell you what are the traffic sources or
what are the best online platforms where you could promote your affiliate links.
First up, physical products. When I'm looking for new outfits, I often turn to Pinterest,
TikTok and Instagram to find fashion influencers. That's their niche.
Focusing on a niche helps your account grow faster because social media platforms can
better understand who to show your content to. Jumping around topics isn't ideal for beginners.
You are way better off if you stick to one niche and if you are patient.
Here are a few names of the best affiliate platforms known for promoting physical products,
if you are new to this, you might want to watch this section of the
video again or pick your pen and a paper to point them out.
Amazon Associates: Amazon's affiliate program is one of the largest and most popular,
offering a huge variety of physical products across multiple categories.
ShareASale is a great one too and usually quite easy to get accepted
to this network even for beginners. CJ Affiliate is also known for its wide
range of big-brand retailers offering physical products in various niches.
RewardStyle LTK is a great place for you if you are in home decor or fashion niches.
I started with physical products because they are often a great
choice for beginners, and here's why: Easy to Join Programs: When you're new
to affiliate marketing, it's usually easier to get accepted into programs that sell physical
products. They're often open to newbies, no matter what you're interested in promoting.
2. Simple to Sell: You don't have to work hard to convince people to buy. Just sharing a link
in your social media post can often do the trick. People see the product, like it, and click to buy.
3. No Need for a Fancy Website: You don't have to worry about setting up a
website when you start. This makes things less complicated and easier to manage.
4. Use Social Media: You can just focus on growing your Pinterest, Instagram or TikTok account. Put
the links to the products in your posts or in your link in bio. This way, people can find and
buy the products right from your social media. And if you ask my personal opinion on which
social media is the best one to start your affiliate marketing efforts, here I have
a very stong opinion - Pinterest is the best. You can link from pins directly to your
affiliate products, you can build your boards or entire Pinterest account around a certain niche.
With over 480 Million monthly users, Pinterest is a great place for niches like home decor, fashion,
health, maternity products will go extremely well because about 60% of Pinterest audience are women.
And I didn't mention yet that the largest demographic on Pinterest are users form the
United States and United Kingdom, which means higher purchasing power and so you can make
more sales. I have a very popular video on my channel specifically on how to use Pinterest for
affiliate marketing, I will link it up there and you can watch it once we are done with this video!
I also have a free Pinterest class which you can sign up for and watch at any time later,
the link will be in the description below! So, promoting physical products can be
a smooth start for beginners because it's easy to get into, simple to sell,
and doesn’t require a lot of technical stuff. You can just use social media to get going.
Now, the second type of products - you can promote are Digital products.
These usually have higher commission rates, up to 40% or higher because they are easier
for the seller to scale, they just sell as many copies as they wish, there is no
shipping or product cost for each copy. So if you go into digital products,
you can sell online courses that might cost from a couple hundred to a couple
thousand dollars and your commission would be from 100 per sale to even a $1000 per sale.
Of course, if you are selling a product that costs $2000, you need a whole different level
of connection and trust with your audience. You need less convincing when you are selling
a $9 eBook and you can probably sell cheaper products to a cold audience on social media.
Wheares you will hardly be able to sell an online course for $2000 to someone from just one click on
an affiliate link. There are more advanced strategies for these types of products and
we'll get to them later in this free tutorial. But no matter what, being authentic in your
content creation is key. Think about why someone would follow you and take
your social media presence seriously. And in most cases, because they are
not tangible things, for digital products I would say that just dropping your links on
social media won't be enough. People will need a bit more convincing information.
What usually works best is having a landing page or a simple website dedicated to the
products you promote. And I already feel some rejection on that side because starting a website
sounds like a lot of work and some expenses. But I have the good news. Here's where HubSpot,
who partnered with me for this section of the video, comes into play! HubSpot
allows you to create your website for FREE, and it's both quick and easy.
You get to pick from various styles and build pages by simply dragging and dropping items - no
need for any coding! They even offer free hosting. HubSpot provides access to AI writing tools and
SEO tips to help your content get a higher ranking on Google.
For an affiliate marketing website, having lead forms and customizable call-to-actions
is crucial to direct users toward making purchases. HubSpot includes these features too.
There's no limit on the amount of traffic your website can receive. If you have a
custom domain purchased from somewhere else, you can easily link it with your HubSpot website.
Now, let's talk about the cost. Often, free trials are only for a limited time.
But HubSpot is unique. Their website management tools are completely free
forever. This means you can use your own domain and host your site on HubSpot without any cost.
So click the link below to start creating your own website and write
your content with AI for free on HubSpot! If you wanted to join the best platforms
to sell digital products as an affiliate, I would recommend to start with these names:
ClickBank: is known for its massive selection of digital products, ranging
from e-books to software and online courses. Digistore24 - this platform offers competitive
commission rates, often ranging from 20% to 70% depending on the product.
JVZoo: A popular platform for digital products, especially in the online marketing,
business, and self-improvement niches. Warrior Plus: Focuses on online business and
internet marketing products, including a range of software, information products, and more.
The next type of products you could promote software products. Personally, I love
promoting software because of several advantages: First, they usually have higher commission rates
as software usually has higher profit margins than physical goods. This allows companies to
offer more generous commissions to affiliates, sometimes as high as 30% to 50% of the sale price.
Second, you can have a Recurring Revenue: many SaaS (Software as a Service) platforms,
operate on a subscription model. This means as an affiliate, you can earn recurring
commissions for a single sale as long as the customer continues their subscription.
And also you typically have a long cookie duration with software affiliate programs. This means if
a potential customer clicks on your affiliate link and doesn’t make a purchase immediately,
you can still earn a commission if they return and buy within the next month or two.
Most of the software brands that I promote are on one of these networks:
Impact - to name just a few brands that you can find in software category on Impact: Shopify,
Surfshark, NordVPN, Norton, AppSumo and many more. I can show you some of my recent revenue
on Impact, and I know that some people are skeptical and think that youtubers can make
a screenshot with any numbers in Photoshop, so I will even refresh the page for you here.
And this is just one of the networks that I use. I also have a lot of products on
Partnerstack - specializes in software and SaaS products.
And if you ask me what are the best ways the best ways to promote software offers:
Your Own Website: You can set up a tech blog to review software products one by
one. In this case, people would search for your reviews by keywords like for example:
NortonVPN review.. To succeed with this method,
I highly recommend you as a beginner, to start promoting products that are great but
just emerging on the marketing. This way, you will find lower competition for the keywords
related to this brand in Google search, there will be less information available
to users and so you have better chances to show up in search results with your blog.
You can also compare different software that are similar in their functionality.
With this type of posts, you can make money from any of the software you talk about,
no matter which one the customer decides to buy in the end. Because all the links to different
products in the post will be your affiliate links. You can find these kind of software comparisons on
my blog. You will mostly get traffic to these reviews from Google search,
you can also use certain other platforms to drive more visitors to your reviews, like
Answering questions on Reddit or Quora and dropping your links for users to
check more information on your blog. Sharing your content on Medium.com. You
could also start an email list on Substack. And generally, for software products you will
likely need to build a more advanced funnel. This would include building opt-in forms on your
website, or landing pages where people would sign up for some extra information from you to educate
them about the software you are trying to promote. By getting someone's email address, you give
yourself a chance to communicate with that person more than once. So if the first encounter they had
with your content didn't convince them to purchase a product, you can follow-up with
more information or even with other similar products and eventually get your commissions.
The entire process of email marketing can be automated, so once people sign up for your list,
you can set up a sequence of educational emails that helps them make a decision or
helps them through the process of setting up the software you are promoting. Someone
who used your free information or tutorial, and saved a lot of time because they didn't
need to learn from trial and error, they will be thankful and will happily use your
affiliate links to sign up for a certain software. I recently published another video specifically
on how to use Email marketing to promote your affiliate products, so if you are interested
in exploring this topic in depth, I'll link the video up there for you and you can watch it later.
YouTube Channel: You can also create a YouTube channel for your software promotions. There
are two kinds of videos you can do. First, there are short vertical videos
called Shorts, and they can be up to 60 seconds long. They can often go viral
but I don't know if it's easy to share a whole software tutorial in 60 seconds.
Personally I am more inclined to creating longer videos that are wide (horizontal). They allow me
to explain in more detail why a specific software is a good fit and how to use it.
You can put your affiliate links in your video description or pin them in the comments below
your video. This way, people can click and buy the software you're talking about.
Here's is and example of a Youtube video I made with a review of online course platforms,
this video didn't go wildly viral but it gets a decent amount of search traffic on Youtube. When
it's search traffic, it means that people find this video when they specifically are
looking for online course comparison videos. So these people are highly targeted and very
warm audience just a few clicks away from signing up for one the online course platforms.
This video makes me consistently several hundred dollars a month in a completely
passive way because once I published this video, I didn't have to do anything with it
and it's been on Youtube for over a year now! You can get started with what you learned in
this class today, or you can dig a bit deeper with me and choose one of the 5
most profitable affiliate niches I covered in the video which I will link up there!
Don't forget to try these methods out and let me know in the comments below which
one works best for you. If you find these free tutorials helpful, give me a like and Subsribe
for more of my free tutorials. I'll see you in the next one!
