H I might need to raise it actually

play00:08

might need to raise the camera otherwise

play00:10

my head is on the top of the

play00:14

frame oky doie much much

play00:18

better take a swig on my water

play00:24

bottle so yes by the title of this video

play00:28

well I haven't actually decided the

play00:29

title but what I I think is going to be

play00:30

the title I am moving out of the UK I am

play00:34

leaving the UK however this isn't a UK

play00:37

bashing video whatsoever it's not even

play00:39

close I actually love England like I I

play00:41

love living here I love growing up here

play00:43

everything about it is an amazing it's

play00:44

an amazing place but I wanted to do a

play00:47

life update video tell you what's going

play00:49

on basically share why I'm leaving the

play00:52

UK for now and I will be coming back in

play00:54

the future but why I'm leaving the UK

play00:55

for now long story short I'm moving to

play00:56

Dubai I think a lot of people have

play00:57

already guessed that from looking on my

play00:59

Instagram and things like that I think a

play01:01

lot of people have already figured out

play01:03

that I'm moving to the buy but let's

play01:05

start at the beginning and how this even

play01:07

happened how this came about so I have

play01:10

some notes here I just want to make sure

play01:12

I cover everything my first trip away

play01:14

was in 2016 I went to San Diego that was

play01:17

my first proper vacation away I was how

play01:20

old was I I was 23 at the time and I

play01:23

absolutely loved it like I went for work

play01:25

and also went for vacation at the same

play01:27

time because at the time I was a a

play01:30

founding designer at a company called

play01:31

PLO I don't know if any of you will

play01:34

remember PLO I used to work at PLO I

play01:36

used to be one of their sort of

play01:38

designers one of their main designers

play01:39

there PLO ended up being bought by

play01:41

GoDaddy a few years later but anyway

play01:43

that was the first time I had ever gone

play01:45

on a proper vacation before that I'd

play01:47

never really traveled I never really

play01:48

gone anywhere I'd never visited the

play01:51

world in any way whatsoever so I spent a

play01:53

week on vacation and I spent a week

play01:56

working and that trip really opened my

play01:59

eyes to to the world like I realized

play02:01

there is so much more out there I had a

play02:03

sudden realization that I could

play02:05

technically do my job from anywhere why

play02:08

am I staying in the UK when I have the

play02:10

freedom of being able to do my job

play02:11

anywhere I especially fell in love with

play02:13

San Diego particularly sort of carsbad

play02:15

and Oceanside area so away from downtown

play02:17

because I'm not really a person that

play02:18

likes to live in the city I much prefer

play02:20

the quieter areas like carsbad and

play02:22

Oceanside which are quite close to

play02:24

downtown San Diego just an amazing place

play02:27

like the weather is perfect it it

play02:29

doesn't really get too cold doesn't

play02:30

really get too hot it's always sunny

play02:33

everyone there was really nice everyone

play02:34

was really friendly it was a place that

play02:37

I absolutely loved and ever since I had

play02:39

visited in 2016 I sort of played with

play02:42

the idea I kept playing with the idea of

play02:44

I should move to San Diego like what's

play02:46

stopping me like it just makes a lot of

play02:48

sense like San Diego would be awesome

play02:49

would be a great place to live however I

play02:51

also realized that my experience of

play02:54

seeing the world was very very limited

play02:56

so it's why I didn't just make the jump

play02:59

right there and then I knew that I had

play03:00

to visit other places V visit other

play03:02

countries go on vacation in other places

play03:05

and sort of just visit the World

play03:06

experience the world see what it's like

play03:07

so from 2016 to 2020 covid time I

play03:11

visited many different countries I was

play03:13

very fortunate enough to be able to go

play03:15

on vacation two or three times a year to

play03:17

all these different places all around

play03:18

the world and yeah it really opened my

play03:20

eyes up it sort of made me realize like

play03:22

I said earlier like the world is a much

play03:24

bigger place then than my little town

play03:25

that I grew up in in England then in

play03:27

2020 we of course had covid and Co

play03:30

really threw a spanner in the works for

play03:32

sort of everything I wanted to do uh I

play03:34

had literally just got back from San

play03:36

Francisco LA and San Diego in March of

play03:39

2020 as soon as I landed we pretty much

play03:42

went into lockdown in the UK we were

play03:43

full lockdown we couldn't go anywhere so

play03:45

of course traveling and stuff was out of

play03:47

the question with the pandemic and stuff

play03:49

but to make it worse to make things even

play03:52

more complicated in July of 2020 I get

play03:55

diagnosed with cancer so then I'm like

play03:58

like what am I going to do like I

play03:59

have cancer now so I ended up getting

play04:01

diagnosed with Stage 3B cancer at the

play04:03

time so it had developed quite a lot my

play04:06

doctor thinks that I had my cancer for a

play04:08

year before they found it I had to go

play04:10

through 12 weeks of chemotherapy and

play04:11

surgery to remove the Cancer all in all

play04:14

when it when I look at my surgery I look

play04:16

at the chemotherapy even though the

play04:18

chemotherapy was only for 12 weeks the

play04:20

recovery process after chemotherapy and

play04:22

the recovery process after my surgery

play04:24

I'd say I sort of got back to my full

play04:26

health 18 months later it took a long

play04:29

time

play04:30

just because your body needs to recover

play04:32

chemo going through your system and

play04:33

stuff I had brain fog I had lots of side

play04:35

effects and stuff that just naturally

play04:36

happens from having chemotherapy but of

play04:38

course because of my cancer I wasn't

play04:41

even thinking about traveling I wasn't

play04:43

even thinking about moving countries or

play04:45

anything like that I'd actually

play04:46

completely forgot about it like I was

play04:48

focused on just trying to get better and

play04:50

trying to sort my life out at the time

play04:51

now that I'm better and I've completed

play04:53

my cancer treatment all I've got to do

play04:55

is just going for regular checkups I'm

play04:56

also in Better Health than I was before

play04:59

before my cancer which is just wild I'm

play05:01

in like much better physical shape

play05:02

compared to compared to what I was

play05:04

before the cancer at the beginning of

play05:07

2023 the idea of moving abroad became

play05:10

more appealing again because lockdown

play05:12

had obviously gone Co had sort of gone

play05:15

uh I was in Better Health and stuff I

play05:16

thought to myself okay let's see what we

play05:18

can do about maybe trying somewhere new

play05:20

seeing what it's like I still love the

play05:22

idea of moving to San Diego and I

play05:24

actually still want to move to San Diego

play05:26

but I realized I think San Diego should

play05:28

actually be a place that I move to maybe

play05:30

when I'm quite a bit older maybe when I

play05:31

want to retire because it's that sort of

play05:33

place it's a lot quieter it's a lot

play05:35

calmer it's the type of place you do go

play05:37

to retire another place which I had

play05:38

visited in the past and which I loved

play05:40

was Dubai I know a lot of people have

play05:42

complaints about Dubai you know Dubai is

play05:44

this very interesting place that people

play05:46

have opinions on and I completely get it

play05:48

everyone has different opinions about

play05:50

Dubai but when I went to Dubai I

play05:52

absolutely loved it I feel like I liked

play05:54

a lot more about it than I thought I

play05:55

would because people had said negative

play05:57

stuff in the past but I kind of went

play05:58

there with this sort of thought of not

play06:00

really expecting much but then once I

play06:02

got there I was like this is awesome

play06:03

this is a great place but the idea of

play06:05

actually moving to Dubai was not

play06:07

something I'd really considered until

play06:10

early last year once I had started

play06:12

seeing so many other people that I knew

play06:14

moving to the buai so many friends had

play06:16

moved to Dubai so many other sort of

play06:17

creators had moved to Dubai business

play06:19

people had moved to Dubai and it kind of

play06:20

got me thinking that Dubai actually

play06:22

makes a lot of sense on what I want in

play06:25

my life in the next sort of 5 to 10

play06:27

years and where I am sort of

play06:28

business-wise where I amort of

play06:30

familywise and things like that it just

play06:31

made a lot of sense and seeing my

play06:33

friends and seeing other people that I

play06:34

knew had moved to the buy it just made

play06:36

it even more appealing so I looked into

play06:37

the idea of moving there see how easy it

play06:39

would be speak to a few people speak to

play06:41

some agencies trying to sort out company

play06:43

Visa stuff like that lo and behold in 3

play06:46

months I am now technically basically a

play06:48

resident of Dubai I've got a company set

play06:50

up I've got a Visa there and it was all

play06:52

done in 3 months which is wild I sort of

play06:54

started the process in November

play06:56

beginning of November and then I had

play06:59

basically become a Dubai resident by the

play07:01

middle of January by the end of January

play07:03

so 3mon process I was blown away by how

play07:05

quick and easy it was so yes I am moving

play07:08

to Dubai so it's going to be a big

play07:10

change it's going to be a

play07:12

huge thing in my life that I just didn't

play07:15

think I would ever do because I know a

play07:17

lot of my friends and family they never

play07:19

thought that I would do this they never

play07:20

thought that I would be the type person

play07:22

to move country because I'm very much

play07:24

like a home body I like stable secure

play07:26

stay in my own house stay have my own

play07:28

place I'm not really a person that

play07:30

changes too much in my life I like slow

play07:32

and steady so moving to the buy is a big

play07:33

change for me and I think it's a big

play07:35

change for a lot of my friends and

play07:36

family as well now of course why du buai

play07:39

like there are a few reasons that I've

play07:40

written here for moving to duai tax like

play07:43

this is the biggest one and definitely

play07:46

one of the biggest reasons why I'm

play07:47

moving to Dubai and I'm not ashamed of

play07:48

it I feel like I don't understand why

play07:49

people are ashamed of it Dubai is 0% tax

play07:53

which just blows my mind like it's 0%

play07:55

income tax 0% capital gains and even 0%

play07:59

% corporation tax depending on the

play08:01

corporation setup that you have so the

play08:03

corporation I have set up is 0% I've

play08:05

never shied away from the fact that I

play08:06

want to make money I'm completely

play08:08

transparent on the fact that I want to

play08:09

make money I want to make as much money

play08:11

as possible and one of the best ways to

play08:12

make more money is to go to a place

play08:14

which is more tax efficient now of

play08:16

course they could change the rules at

play08:17

any time in the buying they could

play08:18

Implement uh income tax corporation tax

play08:20

capital gains tax whatever it might be

play08:22

but for now it's 0% and that's a pretty

play08:25

big incentive for a lot of people who

play08:27

have good jobs who make good money who

play08:28

have comp companies to move to the buy

play08:30

to put it into perspective in the UK If

play08:33

you earn over £125,000 a year you fall

play08:37

into the 45% tax Band so what that means

play08:41

is that any money you earn Beyond

play08:43

£125,000 a year any money beyond that

play08:46

you will pay 45% tax on that amount so

play08:50

for example if I were to pay myself2

play08:53

200,000 in the UK my take-home money

play08:56

would be

play08:58

£7,000 so that's nearly £83,000 going to

play09:02

tax and National Insurance that's a lot

play09:04

of money it's creeping up to nearly 50%

play09:06

of my income going to tax and

play09:08

technically it does end up being more

play09:10

than 50% it can be sometimes 60 to 70%

play09:13

because in the UK we have vat so

play09:15

whenever you buy anything you pay vat so

play09:17

when I buy a laptop when I buy clothes I

play09:19

think food is not vat applicable but

play09:22

yeah most things that you buy there is

play09:23

20% vat you also have to pay sort of

play09:25

council tax which I guess is property

play09:27

tax in the US so depending on the size

play09:30

of your house where you live and stuff

play09:31

you pay a varied amount of council tax I

play09:33

also have to pay corporation tax on any

play09:35

profits that I make and then I also have

play09:36

to pay business rates so this studio

play09:38

that I'm in the warehouse that I'm in I

play09:39

have to pay business rates for things

play09:41

like that so yeah there is there is lots

play09:43

of ways that we're tax in the UK so you

play09:46

know going to somewhere like the buai

play09:48

paying 0% tax it's pretty wild and just

play09:52

a massive incentive and it just makes a

play09:54

lot of sense for someone who earns good

play09:55

money to move to the buy another thing

play09:57

is I expect my income to continue rising

play09:59

over the next few years so if I'm paying

play10:01

myself 200 300 half a m a million

play10:04

dollars a year you know I want to bag as

play10:06

much of that as I possibly can and plow

play10:08

it into my investments I want to plow it

play10:09

into my stocks and shares portfolio I

play10:11

want to plow into property whatever it

play10:12

might be plow it into more startups so

play10:15

invest in more startups invest in more

play10:17

businesses so that's another big reason

play10:19

why I want to do it there are a few

play10:21

other reasons why I'm moving to the buai

play10:23

healthcare Healthcare in Dubai is

play10:25

amazing it's one of the best in the

play10:27

world of course you do have to pay for

play10:29

it but considering the amount you would

play10:31

pay compared to how much tax You' pay it

play10:33

makes a lot of sense like I could easily

play10:35

pay for the highest grade of healthcare

play10:37

into buy and it just won't be an issue

play10:39

and I will because obviously with my

play10:40

cancer treatment stuff I want to make

play10:41

sure I get the best healthare and as

play10:43

I've gotten older I've sort of

play10:45

appreciated Healthcare more being in

play10:47

good health just makes a big difference

play10:48

to your life and with the NHS in the UK

play10:51

unfortunately it has been on like a

play10:53

steady decline the sort of quality and

play10:55

the service that you get from the NHS I

play10:56

don't really know the ins and outs

play10:58

obviously I I'm not educated in that

play11:00

area I'm not I don't have any expertise

play11:02

in that area but yeah healthcare for me

play11:05

very very important and I'm happy to pay

play11:06

for private healthare if I know I'm

play11:07

going to get a good level a a good

play11:09

standard of healthare Dubai is of course

play11:11

very safe it's one of the safest places

play11:13

in the world I don't have to worry about

play11:15

anything in the B it's just wild I don't

play11:17

have to worry about getting mugged

play11:18

robbed hurt or anything like that and

play11:20

unfortunately it happens a lot in the UK

play11:22

nearly every single one of my friends

play11:23

who lives in London has either been

play11:25

mugged or robbed some of them have been

play11:27

hurt you know it's just crazy it's

play11:29

unfortunate that it's like that it's

play11:31

also insane that in Dubai you can leave

play11:34

valuables in the car so you can leave

play11:35

your wallet you can leave your phone

play11:36

your laptop your camera anything like

play11:38

that you can have it on display in your

play11:40

car and no one will touch it like it's

play11:43

so foreign to me that is so F to me and

play11:45

just blows my mind because in the UK I'm

play11:47

so used to hiding things putting things

play11:49

away making sure my valuables are on me

play11:51

not leaving them in the car because I've

play11:53

had friends who've had their cars robbed

play11:55

so it's just such a foreign concept to

play11:58

me that in Dubai you can just leave your

play12:00

stuff in the car and no one will touch

play12:01

it and you can leave your stuff out in

play12:02

public you can leave it on a table or

play12:04

something you can come back hours later

play12:06

it will still be there or someone will

play12:07

have sort of kept it safe you just

play12:10

amazing to me when it comes to traveling

play12:11

I can also use Dubai as a base so I

play12:14

really want to travel to sort of the

play12:15

more eastern part of the world I've not

play12:17

really done Asia I've not done Australia

play12:19

I've not done those sorts of places and

play12:21

Africa as well so being in a place like

play12:24

that it makes it so much easier to to go

play12:26

to Asian countries to go to Australia to

play12:27

go to Japan the places that I really

play12:29

really want to go to I just haven't gone

play12:31

to because the trip from the UK is so

play12:34

long and the tickets are quite expensive

play12:35

and stuff I want to visit more of the

play12:37

world I want to see more of the world

play12:39

and using Dubai as a base as a place

play12:40

that I can do that from just makes a lot

play12:42

of sense Japan and Australia have been

play12:44

at the top of my list as well when it

play12:46

comes to places I want to go to I think

play12:48

I'm actually going to do both of those

play12:49

places in the next 12 to 24 months so

play12:52

being able to do that from Dubai yeah it

play12:55

would just make it a lot easier so this

play12:56

isn't really a benefit of Dubai but a

play12:58

benefit of of my life is that I have

play13:01

very little responsibilities I have no

play13:03

children I have no one that's dependent

play13:04

on me I'm fortunate enough where I can

play13:07

do pretty much whatever I want and it

play13:09

doesn't really affect anyone so why not

play13:10

try living in another country seeing

play13:12

what it's like sort of experience a

play13:14

different way of life and just

play13:15

experience a different part of the world

play13:17

I also doubt that I'll be able to do

play13:19

this in any other part of my life

play13:21

because I'm not sort of like a young

play13:23

adult anymore where I have no money I'm

play13:25

in this perfect situation perfect point

play13:26

in my life where I'm young and healthy

play13:29

I have a good income I have no

play13:31

responsibilities I can basically just do

play13:34

whatever I want and experience whatever

play13:35

I want without it really affecting

play13:37

anyone else and still not obviously

play13:39

worry about bills not worry about sort

play13:41

of can I afford this or anything like

play13:42

that yeah I'm I'm in a very very

play13:44

fortunate position in my life um and I

play13:46

know how fortunate I am and that's why I

play13:47

want to take advantage of it as much as

play13:49

I can there are of course downsides like

play13:50

Dubai is not a perfect place there is no

play13:52

such thing as a perfect country I did

play13:54

actually do a lot of research and I feel

play13:56

like every country has its own

play13:57

compromises because I tried to see where

play14:00

is a place that I can move to where

play14:02

everyone relatively speaks English or

play14:04

knows how to speak English uh low sort

play14:06

of income tax I don't mind paying income

play14:08

tax I just wanted to make sure it wasn't

play14:09

a crazy amount good quality of life

play14:11

standard of living good Healthcare

play14:12

things like that there are actually very

play14:14

very few places on Earth that are like

play14:16

that Dubai is really only one of those

play14:18

places I think there is one big downside

play14:21

that applies to me and something that I

play14:23

think is going to affect me the most and

play14:25

it's the heat obviously Dubai is a very

play14:26

very hot place especially in the summer

play14:28

Mar when I went in January it was very

play14:31

nice very comfortable but in the summer

play14:33

months it is ludicrously hot and I

play14:35

actually plan to travel during the

play14:37

summer months heat to me I don't know

play14:39

what it is heat gets to me like I just

play14:41

don't like heat I also don't like too

play14:42

cold I am

play14:44

so I'm so picky I just realized aren't I

play14:48

I'm so picky I don't like too hot I

play14:49

don't like too cold I'm am such a little

play14:52

worse but what like it's just one of the

play14:55

things that yeah bothers me it does get

play14:57

very very hot that's really the the

play14:58

biggest downside for me personally the

play15:00

other downside for a lot of people is

play15:02

High Cost of Living Dubai definitely has

play15:05

a higher cost of living compared to most

play15:06

of the world but because I've grown up

play15:08

in the UK and I've grown up around

play15:10

London it's actually pretty much the

play15:12

same for me like it it doesn't actually

play15:14

make too much of a difference at all if

play15:16

anything it's cheaper because I'm not

play15:18

paying tax so the cost of living is the

play15:21

same like the rent food all that sort

play15:22

stuff is the same but because I have

play15:23

more money because of no tax I'm

play15:25

actually better off so technically Dubai

play15:27

is lower cost of living for me but of

play15:29

course that doesn't apply to everyone

play15:31

else it is a higher cost of living

play15:32

compared to other people who are moving

play15:34

from other countries the only thing that

play15:36

seems to be more expensive in Dubai is

play15:38

alcohol it's like double the price but

play15:40

that doesn't even affect me whatsoever

play15:41

because I don't drink I've never had a

play15:42

sip of alcohol in my life so yeah that

play15:45

doesn't bother me whatsoever I actually

play15:47

prefer that it's not like that I have a

play15:49

thing where I kind of think to myself

play15:51

like and I think alcohol is really a

play15:52

great thing people can do what they like

play15:54

they can drink they can do whatever but

play15:56

for me personally I just think Al

play15:58

alcohol is is basically just a legalized

play16:00

drug but yeah that's just a very strong

play16:02

opinion that I have anyone is welcome to

play16:04

do whatever they like whatever drugs

play16:05

alcohol whatever works for you you do

play16:07

you for me personally I'm I I just don't

play16:10

think alcohol is that great if you're

play16:12

watching this video and are also

play16:13

considering moving to the B I'll leave a

play16:15

link to the agency that I used they have

play16:17

a form that you have to go through um

play16:19

where basically you imp your information

play16:21

they they ask for like company and stuff

play16:22

like that it's just to make sure that

play16:24

people are serious about moving to Dubai

play16:26

it costs me around7 ,000 to get my

play16:29

company set up and and to get the Visas

play16:31

done and it was a breeze like it was so

play16:33

easy I didn't really have to do much

play16:35

other than turn up in Du buai do the

play16:37

sort of medical test do the sort of

play16:38

Biometrics and stuff that's it like it

play16:40

was just super super easy this agency

play16:42

that handled everything for me they were

play16:44

fantastic and yeah they're quite popular

play16:46

as well so yeah I'll leave a link to

play16:47

them for anyone interested what's my

play16:48

plan going forward so I don't plan to

play16:51

live in Dubai forever because

play16:53

technically you can't live in Dubai

play16:54

forever unless you're an amirati person

play16:56

and you can't be an imati person unless

play16:58

you Mar marry someone who's a morati so

play16:59

yeah that's a whole another thing I do

play17:01

plan to come back to the UK or even just

play17:04

move to another country but I do plan to

play17:06

come back to the UK at some point in the

play17:07

future the content on both of my

play17:09

channels this Finance Channel and my

play17:11

tech channel will not change nothing

play17:13

will change whatsoever if anything I

play17:15

might be able to make more content

play17:16

because I'll be able to have my studio

play17:18

in the sort of house/ villa they call

play17:20

houses Villas over there just to make it

play17:22

more fancy but yeah I'll have my studio

play17:24

s of in where I live so that will make

play17:25

things easier I'll be able to make more

play17:27

videos I'll be able to spend more time

play17:28

time and things like that but yeah I

play17:30

will just have a have a different setup

play17:32

so this setup that you see right now it

play17:33

will be gone I will have a different

play17:35

setup everything else will definitely

play17:37

stay the same I also plan to start

play17:40

another business or two in Dubai so

play17:42

we'll see how that goes because YouTube

play17:43

and stuff is great but obviously I don't

play17:45

want to be doing YouTube Forever right

play17:47

uh I do YouTube because right now it's a

play17:49

fun thing like I really enjoy doing it

play17:51

but I know what I'm like I know that

play17:53

these sorts of things I do fall out of

play17:55

love with them and I end up feeling like

play17:58

I'm not being being creative anymore end

play17:59

up wanting to start a business or

play18:00

wanting to do something new so we'll see

play18:03

we'll see what happens but for now

play18:04

nothing is changing and yeah that's a

play18:06

quick update on what's going on with me

play18:08

and my channel and why there are going

play18:10

to be some changes around here so yeah

play18:12

hopefully you guys enjoyed this video

play18:13

make sure to follow me on Instagram and

play18:15

Twitter where I'll be sharing a lot more

play18:17

updates and things about my moving to

play18:20

Dubai I might also make some more videos

play18:23

on my tech Channel especially setting up

play18:25

a new setup in Dubai living room tour

play18:28

VOR all these different things yeah I'll

play18:30

be I'll be milking it as much as

play18:32

possible don't you worry about that I

play18:33

will be milking it a lot so hopefully

play18:35

you guys enjoyed it and subscribe for
