ready faster for this commun you me and
maximize the time you've got left
between now and your exam it doesn't
even matter how far you've gone with
your preparation whether you've been
studying for long or you're just getting
started I believe that a little extra
speed is going to be of help to
everybody so in this video I'm going to
be sharing six practical steps that will
help you increase your study speed and
maximize the time you've got left before
your exam I welcome back to the channel
if you're new here I'm wealth I'm
currently 4 Medical of the University of
b and I make videos about admission
effective studying and things that
generally help us grow as students I'm
on a journey growing myself and I want
to share this with you and also grow
with you it's going to make me very
happy if you can like this video share
with someone that you think might find
it helpful and also subscribe to the
channel I think we can get to 40,000
subscribers very shortly and you can
help us get there now let's get into the
video the first of the six steps I have
for you in this video is to avoid avoid
reduce or totally eliminate distraction
and I'm putting this first for a reason
because distraction takes a lot of our
time than we even realize and here is my
own idea I believe that if we can reduce
or totally eliminate distraction we're
going to be left with much more time to
do things that really matter to us
things that are meaningful like studying
or preparing for your exam also if you
can reduce or completely remove the
distraction between now and your exam
you're going to have a lot of time after
your exam to go through all of the
distraction there is in the world we all
know what our distractions are but most
of us students here is our common
distraction number one is social media
we have games and we have hanging out
with friends you can find a way to
reduce how much time you spend on all
this distraction you're going to have
more time to do what really matters to
you if you find it difficult to control
yourself you're not disciplined enough I
would just say uninstall the apps you
find really distracting like Tik Tok is
very addictive and Instagram RS is also
very addictive I would advise you just
on stall this apps for now and use the
apps that are going to help you use
study apps use Jam CBT app let those be
your friend for now trust me you're not
going to miss out on any major thing
because you are not on social media step
number two is to create more time to
study and this step is particularly for
people who are busy people who go to
work or who have other important things
doing in their life it's something I can
totally relate to When I Was preparing
for my second UT I was as well working
by the time I didn't want to give myself
any excuse for not doing as well as I
wanted to do so what I did was to create
more time to study for myself when
you're at work there are always short
short period you can use productively
that at the end of the day if you use
this time judiciously you're going to be
able to cover a lot let me give you an
example When I Was preparing for my own
exam there are times I won't be having
anything I was a teacher then I will
have free period during this free period
I may not be able to study a complete
chapter in the textbook but you know
what I could do I could bring out my
phone and try to answer past questions I
could bring out my ad copy past question
and try to answer it and I could watch a
video on a topic I'm finding difficult
to understand so that during my time at
work I can do some small small things
that will help me learn better it will
help me increase my knowledge Bank
instead of just wasting the whole time
away if you're working always look for
this short short period in between your
day at work to utilize I think it's
going to be worth it at the end of the
day step number three is when you're not
studying think about study or when
you're not studying study so this is a
funny step I'm not suggesting that you
should not take a break or you should
not rest at all rest is very important
for your brain to even function properly
but this time your brain should be
mostly thinking about book or book
related substances cuz when you keep on
exposing your brain to a particular
thing your brain just gets used to it
and by the time you get your exam all it
won't be strange to your brain cuz this
is basically what you've been doing for
the past few weeks or few months so what
I'm saying in essence is this you're
going to have time you sit down to study
at the end of that study period That's
not just it that's not how we learn you
have to revisit what you've studied
there are period in between your day you
can be doing something that is Mindless
for example washing the place or washing
your clothes dur this period you can't
carry your book and be studying them but
you can think about what You' studied
you can think okay yesterday I studied
this thing so how much of it can I still
remember try to think about it in the
process of thinking about it you're
going to realize things youve forgotten
and that that should make you go back to
your book to check okay what have I
forgotten from this oh this is what I've
forgotten if you revise that your
chances of forgetting that particular
information is very slim and besides
thinking about what you studied is
actually what makes your brain remember
it and what makes it easy for your brain
to process and use this information
later in the future reading should not
just be about reading like newspaper
just going through lines and reading
words it's about your brain processing
it and when you are not studying is when
your brain should actually consolidate
think about this things you can think
about it while you're studing but even
when you stop studying I remember when I
Was preparing for my UTM then I would go
out and I would see things that would
make me think about what I've studied I
could be in church and I would hear
interference of the speakers like
microphone interference making that
weird sound and that would make me think
about interference before I would try to
okay do I still remember the formula for
interference do I still understand it or
I could be walking on the road and I
will see a car moving by me then I'll
think of relative motion these are
things I've read in the book that are
applicable in real life thinking about
it will make me realize oh I forgotten
it let me quickly check what it is or oh
I still remember it's interesting it's
boost my confident and makes my brain
always think about something so that
when I go to my exam like I've said in
some of my videos before that my exam
did not really see like seem like an
exam my exam seemed like just one of the
previous time I was practicing a p
question cuz I was doing it a lot every
day so this take us to the next tip
which is using shortcuts so what I mean
by this is that studying should not be
unnecessarily difficult now this current
age we have a lot of resources right now
we are more exposed to resources we are
more exposed to things that make studing
way easier for us you owning the phone
you watching me means you have access to
many things that will make life easier
for you as a student so right now you
don't have a lot of time to be sitting
down for very long hour trying to figure
out something there are ways to use
shortcut to kind of understand something
easily if you're reading a textbook and
you find it difficult to understand that
textbook you could easily just search
for that topic you're reading on YouTube
for example you're going to find a lot
of videos about that topic and watching
it should help you understand it fter
that even if you go back to the textbook
you understand it better there are a lot
of Articles now that you could read for
free online that will help you
understand tutorials can also be helpful
also friend is one thing that is
underutilized if you have friends that
are well knowledgeable even you teaching
your friends another way of learning
much better all this are shortcuts to
learning and many student do over look
or underestimate how effective they can
be so you can use videos articles
friends tutorials and brainstorming
groups all those things are shortcuts
that will help you learn faster in
shorter period of time provided you are
utilizing them properly I just want you
to figure out which one works for you
while all those things are important
shortcut they can also be distractions
the fifth step is to practice every day
this something I've always advocated for
practicing like the more you practice
the better you overcome there lot of
scientific evidence that back up
practicing as a means of success for an
exam I'm not suggesting because many
students do this they just take the past
question and just read the past question
memorize the answers this usually will
not help you what I want you to do
instead is you've learned some things
from the textbook you've learned some
things by reading articles by watching
videos by attending tutorials pick up
your past question I'm trying to use the
knowledge you've had before to answer
questions this thing makes your brain
think about it and what actually happens
in your brain is there are new
connection that are formed in your brain
in the process of thinking about it and
trying to solve this problem and the
more you solve the more these
connections are made I believe this and
this is actually very true if you
practice enough question before you exam
by the time of your exam there will be
no new possible question they can bring
to you that you've not seen something
similar before because your brain has
been exposed to all of the different
patterns of studying of solving this
question
your brain very fast knows how best to
solve those things especially for people
doing subject D calculation so practice
practice just keep practicing from now
to your exam just make sure you practice
something every day do as many as you
possibly can every day and when you are
in the bus or you are going somewhere or
you waiting for some you could just
bring out your phone check past question
during this period try to answer it all
those things are going to help you very
much in making your preparation faster
for the exam and lastly I would advise
do not leave go out of the equation I
had someone say something and I totally
totally agree with it he said study like
you're not going to pray and pray like
you're not going to study so you should
do all of those things and I I pray that
God is going to help you and I hope this
video has in some way be helpful to you
and I wish you the best and very best of
luck I have nothing but the best and by
the time the results are coming out I
want to celebrate and be joyous with you
thank you for watching and I would
appreciate if you can like this video if
you've not done so subscribe to this
Channel and share it with someone you
think might find it helpful yeah want to
get to 40K and you can make that happen
